END BODY SHAMING

Too many people are being body shamed by total arseholes and there’s just no fucking need for it.

When you look at someone’s body and then send vile messages about their size just take five minutes and think to yourself “Hmmm they could gain/lose weight but I will always be a dickhead” Instead of being ‘That dickhead’ try to imagine why they are the size they are. Do they have a medical issue (mental or physical), are they too self conscious to exercise (not all large people are unfit and not all slim people are fit), are they being pressured by a partner to be the size they are. There could be many reasons they are the size they including they are just happy with there body and don’t want to change it and that is perfectly fine.

I have never liked my body even when I was a size 8-10 with a stomach so flat you wouldn’t believe it. I have had 2 children which resulted in stretch marks, quit smoking after nursing my Dad through terminal cancer, this resulted in a weight gain of 5 stones (first two photographs) which caused even more stretch marks, lost 4 with diet and exercise, gained 3 because I thought I had a handle on my weight, lost another 2 with exercise (I love naughty food too much). The third photograph was a couple of months ago and I still wasn’t comfortable in my own skin (trying to hid the apron 🙈). The last photograph wasn’t long after the third, no difference in size but there is in confidence. I now accept that my body tells a story which will never be finished until the day I die.

I never thought I would have the courage to share these photographs but you know what, if it helps to change the way of thinking of just one dickhead then my anxiety over this post is so worth it.

As the government is trying to figure out how to ease back in to a new normal, please remember:

🛑 Some people don’t agree with the country opening.... that’s okay. Be kind.

🏡 Some people are still planning to stay home.... that’s okay. Be kind.

🦠 Some are still scared of getting the virus and a second wave happening....that’s okay. Be kind.

Some are sighing with relief to go back to work knowing they may not lose their business or their homes....that’s okay. Be kind.

👩🏾‍⚕️Some are thankful they can finally have a surgery they have put off....that’s okay. Be kind.

📝 Some will be able to attend interviews after weeks without a job....that’s okay. Be kind.

😷 Some will wear masks for weeks....that’s okay. Be kind.

💅🏻 Some people will rush out to get the hair or nails done.... that’s okay. Be kind.

❤️ The point is, everyone has different viewpoints/feelings and that’s okay. Be kind.

We each have a different story. If you need to stay home, stay home. But be kind .

If you need to go out, just respect others when in public and be kind!

Don’t judge fellow humans because you’re not in their story. We all are in different mental states than we were months ago. So remember, be kind. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.
