END BODY SHAMING
Too many people are being body shamed by total arseholes and there’s just no fucking need for it.
When you look at someone’s body and then send vile messages about their size just take five minutes and think to yourself “Hmmm they could gain/lose weight but I will always be a dickhead” Instead of being ‘That dickhead’ try to imagine why they are the size they are. Do they have a medical issue (mental or physical), are they too self conscious to exercise (not all large people are unfit and not all slim people are fit), are they being pressured by a partner to be the size they are. There could be many reasons they are the size they including they are just happy with there body and don’t want to change it and that is perfectly fine.
I have never liked my body even when I was a size 8-10 with a stomach so flat you wouldn’t believe it. I have had 2 children which resulted in stretch marks, quit smoking after nursing my Dad through terminal cancer, this resulted in a weight gain of 5 stones (first two photographs) which caused even more stretch marks, lost 4 with diet and exercise, gained 3 because I thought I had a handle on my weight, lost another 2 with exercise (I love naughty food too much). The third photograph was a couple of months ago and I still wasn’t comfortable in my own skin (trying to hid the apron 🙈). The last photograph wasn’t long after the third, no difference in size but there is in confidence. I now accept that my body tells a story which will never be finished until the day I die.
I never thought I would have the courage to share these photographs but you know what, if it helps to change the way of thinking of just one dickhead then my anxiety over this post is so worth it.

I took a trip to Walmart this morning. Donning my gloves I tackled the fabric and notions. Picking up lots of calico fabric and notions to start this huge project. I met a lady with her arms full of similar items. I whispered, are you making what I am? We smiled and laughed. YEP! Medical Masks! I am calling my project Rosie 2020 as in Rosie the Riveter. This is OUR calling, our CALL TO ACTION. Those that work in the medical field are our FRONT LINE and they need us. So if you sew at all you have been called! Even if your local area doesn’t need them now, they will and VERY SOON! JOIN me in this service to those that are our real HEROES!
This is the pattern I am using. Some instructions were left out. Elastic needs to be 7 inches. You can use ties instead, they need to be 14 inches. Make sure the elastic of tie is lying between the 2 pieces of fabic, right sides facing so that the elastic will be on the outside when turned right side out.

Are you ashamed to crawl to him because your belly hangs and your tits sway? Do you prefer online LDRs because if she sees your small stature in real life she won’t respond to your authority? Do your ribs show so distinctly that you’re always dreading the first comment about eating something so you’ll be healthy?
Too fat. Too short. Too skinny. Too loud. Too smart. Too hairy. Too old. Not enough money. Not enough experience. In a wheel chair. Lost a limb. A basket case with enough luggage to open a store.
Stop. Just stop.
You are you. And whoever that is you are a unique addition to the world. There is no other exactly like you which makes you a rare prize. And in this world there are those who would give anything to possess that prize.
Be proud of you. Love you. Don’t obsess over those who don’t value your brand of awesomeness. But remember to be open and accepting of those who do. If Tumblr teaches you nothing else it should be clear that there is a ying to every yang.
