“I’ll be honest, I was very surprised that I survived. I kind of imagined myself getting blown up in a ship pretty early on… but spoiler alert, I suppose. There’s also that moment where Ren is on the ground, and it looks like maybe I’ll finish him. [Chuckles] What stake would the franchise be in if Snoke and Ren are gone, and it’s just Hux going, ‘Right! This is how we go’? Can you imagine how annoyed people would have been? On Hux backstory in the novelization

So my hope is that’s the way it goes, but we just don’t have any– Maybe they’ll make up and… maybe that’ll be the twist. Them getting married.”
