Happy new years! I ended up deciding to just make a whole small post dedicated to all the DC art I've done this past month. I hope to find time to create AND post more in 2025

I'll probably end up adding final touches (AND finishing) to some of these, I also have just some ship kid posts that I'll be posting separately along with other pieces

It's be an over all extremely fun year for me but it's also been a struggling last few months with just me trying to experiment with my art (hence my disappearances and etc)

I made different fankids based on DC au stuff or other versions and this was one of my favorite lil villain girlies. I may share more on her if I re visit her but for now Emmie's old ref is just here lmao

I also had ideas to make her a psychopath but I was struggling to figure out how to correctly make her character with that (especially in the context of the show), so we'll see

My one friend group can't stop saying, "See you in hell!" in a cheerful voice instead of, "Talk to you later!" and my other friend group can't stop calling things "penis" instead of "cool" or "good", so I just unironically uttered the phrase, "Sounds penis, see you in hell," as I got off the phone.

Watching Doctor Nowhere and his freaky lil creatures start blowing up in popularity makes me IMMENSELY happy. I was following him for years on Instagram so seeing fanart and reaction videos the past year has been fun

I HIGHLY recommend checking his account out if you're a fan (of him or horror)! You can find him just by searching 'Doctor Nowhere'

Anyway, I hope to start posting and making more fanart of his creatures bc holy mother- (shoutout to Anklager, love you, Lmao)

Still Wakes The Deep, horror aspects aside, is a kind of game that could only work with the Celtic creators and in-game characters it had. The camaraderie that the cast had with each other is a perfect representation of the Celtic culture with their light jabs and general sense of immediate acceptance no matter the obvious differences in the crew, example being, Trots being an open Communist. There is no issue ever broached with this throwaway fact about him solely because he is likeable and a decent guy amongst them all. The use of accurate colloquialisms to each person's dialect is refreshing to see as a Celtic person myself (Irish) and this is a culture so commonly mischaracterised in media. Every person has a relationship with each other however small or unmentioned in the course of gameplay. We can see this so clearly when Caz reacts to the bodies and deaths of unamed crew members.

Just in general its super refreshing to see accurate rep for Celtic culture from Celtic creators and I'm still so in awe of the game as a whole upon finishing it last night with my girlfriend. Obviously the creature design, the story and the whole cosmic Lovecraftian horror aspect is stunning and unique as a game! But the cast grasped our attention just for these details alone and I just had to mention it.
