âOkay,â Sunghoon nodded, eyes focused on the paper in his hold which you stayed up preparing all night, for the oral exam you were about to take in an hour today, âletâs go over this once more.â
You sighed, closing your eyes, trying to clear your head for his questions. You were nervous, so much that Sunghoon was starting to get worried about you.
âMhm.â You hummed in response, clumsily trying to wipe your wet palms on the fabric of your pleated skirt.
You could feel that there were no room left in your brain anymore to obtain any kind of additional information, no matter how crucial it was for the exam.
Yet there you were, forcing yourself to study when all you wanted to do was to go back to your bed and sleep for the rest of day.
âOr we can just take a break here and get some airââ Sunghoon suggested, noticing your struggle.
He wanted to help you so bad, seeing you like this was nothing other than a torture to him.
âNo!â you shook your head and interrupted him with a high pitched voice that came out louder than you thought, unable to control your anxiety.
Realizing how rude you just sounded, you looked up, meeting with a pair of confused eyes.
Sunghoon seemed baffled, frozen at his seat while he was searching for an answer to give to you.
âOkay then, letâsââ
âIâm sorry, I didnât mean toâ shit!â
You pursed your lips, brushing your hands through your wavy strands that had Sunghoon secretly swooning over you.
You really were so pretty, he couldnât deny it.
Maybe that was the reason why he hated seeing you upset so much, because it didnât suit your gorgeous face, just like this spoken moment.
You were interrupting him, again, but although he didnât care much, it was the last straw for you to have an emotional outbreak.
Huffing out a frustrated groan, you cupped your face with both hands, pressing at your eyes to prevent the swelled up tears from falling down â which didnât work.
Were you crazy?
Why were you yelling at your best friend who only tried to help? And why on earth were you crying right now?
âY/n, shhhââ Sunghoon called your name, letting it roll out from his tongue softly as he got up and walked towards you with rushed steps.
âHey, look at me,â he tapped on your shoulder lightly, âCome on sweetheart, let me see your pretty face, hm?â
âI have a runny nose,â you sobbed, âIâm not pretty right now!â you whined, which made him giggle over how honest you were.
âI donât care,â he murmured, grabbing your wrists gently, âlet me see you.â he said, forcefully moving your fisted hands away.
âI c-canât make this s-stop!â You choked out as you looked at him behind swollen eyes, your lips and nose shining bright red due to the rush of blood.
âShhh, Itâs alright baby, itâs alrightââ
âMake it stop Sunghoon, p-please!â
Not knowing what to say, Sunghoon gulped down in worry, hesitating over doing the only thing that came to his mind.
It almost felt like he was dealing with an acute brain deficiency, which was the last thing he needed right now.
Screw it, he thought to himself as he watched you break down completely, he couldnât bare witnessing the sight of you pouring your heart out anymore.
So with a deep breath, he took your face in between his hands and wiped away the wetness on your cheeks before pulling you towards himself, only to press his soft lips on your dry ones.
He closed his eyes and held you still as he kissed you, pushing you against the wall behind you to prevent you from running away â not that you were trying to anyways, you were too stunned to move a limb.
Despite the wacky circumstances, the kiss was fluttering for the both of you, making his heartbeat fasten as it calmed yours.
You tasted sweet, much better than his favorite candy flavor. It made him want to not stop and risk everything instead, even though it would most likely cost him your friendship.
Or so he thought.
Stealing one last peck from you, he pulled away, leaning his forehead against yours as he struggled to look into your eyes.
He felt dizzy, almost like he was unable to stand straight on his feet.
âI r-read it somewhere,â he stuttered, licking his lips, âthat k-kissing could help with p-panic attacks.â he said, trying to disperse the strange mood in the room.
âYeah?â
âYeah, so did it work?â He asked, blinking a few times expectantly. Now he was even more nervous than you, feeling his hands shake as he placed them on both sides your waist.
âHmm, I donât know,â you pouted, crossing your arms around his neck, âit was too short for me to tell, donât you think?â You teased, pulling him closer as you played with the small hairs on his nape.
âThat so?â He whispered, fanning his hot breath against your blushed cheeks. You looked so mesmerizing, he could barely breathe in front of you.
âMhm,â
âThen how about this?â
Just like that, you found his lips back on yours again, gently moving with a slow rhythm. Delicately, he placed a hand on your cheek and tilted your head as he hugged your waist, wanting to give you what you were asking for exactly.
A small whimper fell from your mouth as you tugged on his hair for more, which was enough for him to understand that he was on the right track.
But instead of giving you more of what you wanted, he chose to stop and tease you a little, just like you did to him.
âSo?â He asked, breaking the kiss, chuckling at the redness of your face. âWas this long enough for you?â
Unable to stop your lips from curling up, you gave in and let a cute chuckle escape from your mouth.
He smiled at the way you hid your face on the crook of his neck, laughing along with you over your clumsy attempts on avoiding his flirty gaze.
âWhat is it, are you shy now?â
âNo,â you rejected, trying to sound like you were not at all effected by what just happened, âWhy would I be shy?â
âBecause we just kissed, love,â he muttered right next to your ear, emphasizing on the last word, âand we did it twice.â
âYou meant to say thrice?â
âWhaââ
Not letting him finish, you pushed your lips on his, once again getting the upper hand. This time you were the one cupping his cheeks and tilting his face, causing a heart attack on his poor body.
He could feel his knees give in as he leaned his weight down on you, letting you pull him as close as you wished.
âSee?â you mumbled, panting for air in between kisses, âthrice.â you said, giving him a one last kith.
He nodded approvingly as he chased after your lips for more, pouting when you pushed him away, not letting him get greedy with you.
âI see,â he cleared his throat, following after you to gather his stuff from the table since it was almost the time for the exam, âthen what should I do to get my fourth kiss?â
Smirking at his daring question, you threw him a sassy look, fixing his tie as you locked your eyes with his beautiful brown ones.
You seemed to gain your confidence back almost as if that anxiety attack never happened, which was a great sight to see for Sunghoon, since he felt like he could finally be of help.
âDo you really want it that badly?â
âI do actually,â he sighed, wanting to look dramatic, âvery much, if Iâm being honest.â
âThen take me out on a date after this, Park,â you responded, trying not to show how much his answer got you excited, âImpress me and youâll get your kiss.â
âPromise?â
âYeah,â you giggled, âpromise.â
âConsider it done then, L/n,â he concluded, fixing your smudged lipstick with a dirty grin on his face.
Oh how sweet it was, watching your cheeks turn red because of him, he couldnât put his joy into words.
âI hope youâre ready for the best date of your life.â

is anyone else so sad and sobbing and crying and in tears and in crisis and weeping
PSH â TO SOMETHING MORE ââ roommates with a hint of feelings. 818 words â sunghoon x reader. fall in you â ha sungwoon
a warm sensation presses onto your head every few seconds, sending slight shivers down your skin.
despite the heaviness in your eyes, you compel yourself to open them, and a familiar figure you never wouldâve imagined to see the first thing when you wake up unblurs itself in a moment.
âsunghoon?â
his hand stops a few inches above your head, lips curling into a smile when his eyes meet your weary ones. âyouâre finally awake.â
âwhat are you doing here?â you ask. just as you are about to get up from your position, his hand lightly pushes your head down and you fall back to the bed.
the warm and wet sensation returns once again. when you reach up to feel it, you realize the current situation you must be in.
âyou have a fever. iâm making sure to reduce it.â sunghoon takes the damp towel and swipes it across your forehead in slow, gentle strokes. each movement is delicate, careful as if you can break from a simple touch.
not a single word has been exchanged since then.
a minute stretches into what feels like hours as sunghoon continues with his actions. itâs as if the both of you are the only ones existing in the worldâjust you two, in the small space of your bedroom, hearts beating silently while his hand runs over your head.
itâs not that you didn't like it, and perhaps you like it a little too much as you observe sunghoon and trace every single detail in this exact momentâthe way the dim light softens his features with a certain type of glow, the way his eyes are unmoving and focused on one point, that being you, and the way his lips are pursed in concentration. his lipsâŠ
wait, youâre not supposed to be thinking about that.
âi-i can do it myself,â you shift around the bed away from sunghoon, seizing the towel between his fingers. heat flares your cheeks despite being cold all over, and perhaps you didn't need the towel to warm yourself after all. âyou don't need to take care of me.â
âof course, i should. how could i not when you passed out on the floor earlier?â
âweâre only roommates, sunghoon,â the truth spills from your lips without thinking. âyou don't need to feel obligated to take care of me.â
silence hangs in the air at the lack of his reply. his eyes were trained on somewhere else, contemplating, before bringing it back to you with an unusual kind of gaze. a gaze that tells you he has something important to say. a gaze that tells you thereâs something more. âiâm not doing this just because itâs an obligation or just because weâre roommates.
âiâm doing this because i care for you a lot, much more than you think.â
your mind drowns in his words until it was all you could think about, repeating itself over and over again like a broken record.
i care for you a lot.
more than you think.
how?
and since when?
you didn't even notice sunghoon taking the towel away from you and placing it neatly above your head until the seat scrapes against the surface when he stands up.
âwait-â you grab onto his hand impulsively. âare you leaving?â
for the first time tonight, sunghoon lets out a chuckle. âno, iâm just going to get medicine for you. why? miss me already?â
right, this is the sunghoon you know by heart. the teasing sunghoon. the sunghoon that you banter with every once in a while. the sunghoon that never misses to make you pancakes in the mornings with words of affirmation scribbled messily in maple syrup. the sunghoon that tells you random pickup lines he finds on the internet out of the blue.
your roommate sunghoon.
but tonight, this sunghoon is different from the rest. you couldn't pinpoint what it is, but you can feel it in the way your heart tells you so. although one thingâs for sureâyou want this version of him to remain with you for a little while longer.
âcan you stay for a minute?â you ask. âat least until i fall asleep? your hand is warm.â
without a word, he returns to sitting down next to you, interlocking his warm hand with your cold ones as he basks in the feeling of your temperature contrasting his own.
âgo to sleep. iâll stay.â
when you finally close your eyes, surrendering yourself to sleep from the exhaustion you felt and the heat of his touch, sunghoon never once left. instead, he stayed, leaning his head on your bed frame, his hand still locked with yours as he, too, fell asleep.
sunghoon does care for youâa lot more than you think, a lot more than roommates should.
and he wishes that one day heâll be able to stay with you, until the end of eternity, just like this.

after you fail to pickpocket him, the famous yet arrogant artist Jeon Jungkook takes you off the streets to make you his servant, and the more you know him, the more you realise he's not as detestable as everyone claims he is.

1529, Rome
âHow much for that one?â
âNo, that oneâs sold already.â
It was a lively morning. After days of heavy rainfall, those of high social class were eager to get out and meet under the gentle sun of spring, whose glare reflected on the precious stones of their jewellery; while those of low, out of necessity, couldnât wait to reopen their businesses or set up their stalls and get back to work. You liked to eye them all as you strolled the streets of Rome.
âTo whom?â
âYour friend Taehyung.â
âAgh⊠How much is that prick paying you?â
The point of the matter was that it was bustling, some colliding if they looked away from where they were going for more than a breath. It worked in your favour for it was then easier to make yourself scarce right after stealing bags of coins, such as those of the three men seemingly bargaining by a workshopâs entrance out of which a large block of marble was being dragged. Perfect.
âThree ducats.â
âThree?! Heâs robbing you of two ducats. Iâll pay you the five itâs worth.â
You kept your head low as you approached the pair that seemed wealthier and with those stealthy hands of yours unfastened the bags tied to their belts. After all, pickpocketing was a skill youâd had under your own for some years now, so this was bound to go smoothly.
Because you didnât realise there was a guardian with them, perhaps youâd grown arrogant.
âIâm sorry, maestro. Itâs reserved.â
âBut itâll become a waste in his possession!â
As you slipped away into the crowd, mouth watering at the fresh-baked bread you were going to devour as soon as bought, this brown dog leaped up at you out of nowhere, ignoring your desperate efforts to shake him off. If anything, they caused him to bark.
No, no, noâŠ
The three men turned to the scene playing out not so far, and thinking his dog was bothering you one of them shouted, âBam, come here, boy!â but as he obediently ran to his owner, you were too slow to hide the bags in your hands. It only took the pair a second to make them out, check whether theirs still hung on their belts, find them not, work out youâd stolen them, look back up, and find you not either.
Of course, youâd made your escape by then, dived into the sea of people and swum through them as quickly as possible, only stopping when you reached an empty vaulted alley to catch your breath.
That was ridiculously close. If you werenât more careful nextâ
Your train of thought was interrupted by someone grabbing you by the arm from behind and pushing you against the nearest wall. A grunt accompanied the thud, and a gasp followed at the sight of the two men from beforeâdog included. Pinned in place, itâd be a bad idea to fight back or attempt to run away again. Fuckâs sake.
âDo you know what happens to thieves?â the one cornering you asked so close that when the cold breeze rustled his hair, some strands grazed your face. You looked away to avoid the tickling rather than out of fear, or so you wanted to believe. âThey have a hand cut off. Seems fair, doesnât it, Jimin?â
By contrast, that Jimin didnât look intimidating, otherwise still catching his breath from the chase, but he did snatch the coin bags from your hands. âIt doesnât have to be so, maestro. We got our money back. Sheâs⊠just a girl.â
âAnd that exempts her of crime?â
âPlease, donât report me,â you begged, humiliating as though it was.
âWhy shouldnât we?â the maestro scoffed. Maestro⊠You were being threatened by a damned craftsman, the other one probably his assistant.
âBecause I donât want to lose a hand?â
âOh, but we wanted to lose money, did we?â You rolled your eyes, and he released his grip only to step away. âTake us to your father, brat. Heâll answer for you.â
It took you a moment to respond, âI donât have a father, or anyone... Only I can answer for my actions.â
âYouâre a beggar?â Jimin asked, taking pity as he studied your appearance for the first time. Dishevelled hair, tattered dress, unpleasant smell⊠Yes, they shouldâve guessed.
âShe doesnât beg, though, does she? She steals.â
âOnly from cunts.â
His head snapped to meet your glare, and Jimin laughed, âYou seem to not know whom you speak to.â He could be Jesus for all you cared. Uninterested, you petted the dog, Bam, seeing as heâd leapt up at you again. âThis is Jeon Jungkook.â
You froze. The Jeon Jungkook? The famous artist who painted and sculpted for the Pope? Whom faraway kings and even emperors commissioned? The one whose genius was said to be changing the world?
At the lack of attention, Bam returned to his master, and that snapped you out of your shock to ask, âThen why do you whine?â The two men frowned, having clearly expected an apology paired with the usual bootlicking. âAs if you need that bag more than I!â
âWhat nerve,â he scoffed again, making you wince by grabbing your arm tighter than before and starting to drag you into the next street. âYouâre going straight to the authorities!â
âWait,â Jimin intervened, thank God. âWerenât you in need of a servant, maestro?â
âSo?â
Jimin pointed at you with his gaze as though it was obvious. âYouâre in need of a servant, sheâs in need of a roof.â
âI would rather have a hand cut off.â
âI would rather have her hand cut off too.â
Jungkook tried to resume dragging you, but Jimin blocked his way with a soft smile. âWhatâs your name?â
âY/NâŠâ
âDo you know how to take care of a household?â Slowly, you nodded, melancholy engulfing you at the memory of cooking or sweeping the floor with your mother once upon a time. Somehow, she always found a way to make chores fun... âThen you qualify for the job. Youâll have three meals a day and a bed to sleep on. And you, maestro, a servant whoâll work her hardest, lest you fire her and she ends up in the streets again.â
Both you and Jungkook reluctantly glanced at each other. Truth be told, you didnât prefer losing a hand to living with him, you just didnât like him. Despite being a celebrity, he was a stranger. It just wouldnât work.
But then, why were you holding your breath, hoping heâd accept?
âWe shouldnât have left Namjoonâs workshop. The marble is about to be delivered,â he said walking away. The air left your lungs in disappointment. It seemed you were to remain a stray cat. Jimin pressed his plump lips apologetically as he gave you enough coins to buy that bread, and you nodded, grateful all the same for his trying. You watched him rush to Jungkookâs side but when this one saw him, he turned around. âHurry up, brat. If Taehyung gets that block of marble, Iâll not take you in.â
Since the first day, you could attest to Jeon Jungkookâs nature being as rough and uncouth as the rumours claimed, and after living alone with him for two months still believed gossip such as that heâd got the scar on his left cheek in a tavern fightâin which, if youâd chanced to be present, you wouldâve rooted for the other individual.
It appeared it wasnât just others Jungkook was harsh to. However rich his talent had turned him, he behaved like a poor man, consuming food and drink sparingly and out of necessity instead of pleasure, spending only the money required to live decently, sleeping little in order to work on commissions from dawn to midnightâŠ
Why he chose to take little care of himselfwas a mystery to someone who previously had not been allowed a choice, even if putting work before all was in order to thwart Kim Taehyungâs plans of ruining his career, as he claimed. You doubted his rival was obsessed with him so, but had learned to agree with whatever Jungkook grumbled to avoid disputes. Most times.
Deep down, you had a feeling your boldness amused him. Who else dared get on his nerves?
âI think all you artists fluttering around the Pope are no more than slaves to money,â you let drop once while making his bed. Bam was sleeping peacefully under the window, while Jungkook leaning against the doorâs frame behind you, offended to the core. He could help, you thought, or at least loosen my corset a littleâŠ
âI, a slave? Iâll be damned⊠There is an angel inside every block of marble, and Iâll have you know I carve to set it free.â
âIs it the angel that charges the Pope, then, master?â You could feel him barely restraining the urge to throw you out the window, smiled as you finished smoothing out the blankets.
âYou missed a wrinkle there.â
Hands on your hips and frown on your brows, you examined the neatly arranged coverings of his bed. âWhere?â
âOn your face,â he muttered before making his leave.
Not his finest jibe, but the metaphor did stay with you. An angel inside the marble⊠It perhaps applied to Jungkook himself, though youâd never tell him.
One instance it came to mind was recently, when his assistants and apprentices were invited over for dinner.
Usually, heâd tell you which meals he liked and youâd ask at the marketplace which ingredients to buy, but now that about ten meals were to be cooked a list was needed. So there he sat on his desk in his study, inking said list as you waited in front of him, fiddling with the undershirt that peeked out of your dressâ sleeves. Given that your eyes were fixed on it, you only learned Jungkook was done when the sound of his quill scratching the paper ceased.
âBe back no later than dusk,â he ordered, âI bet there are still Germans and Spaniards lurking about.â
A year had passed since the Sack of Rome, but the mention of it sent a shiver of fear down your spine. Whatever the political reasons for it, you hated everyone involved, for Hell itself wouldâve been a more beautiful sight to behold those nine months when the Tiberâs waters remained painted redâŠ
You were lucky to make it through. Your family wasnât.
âYes, maestro.â
âHere,â he said handing you the paper, then picked another letter from a pile of correspondence heâd been going through before your arrival. Jungkook was about to snap its wax seal when he looked up to realise you hadnât moved an inch. âWhy are you here? Away with you!â He saw the reason in the way you avoided eye contact. âYou canât read, can you?â Met with a silence charged with embarrassment, he leaned back in his chair and sighed, âGive me the list.â
Getting hold of the quill again, Jungkook began⊠doodling?
You tilted your head but couldnât see well what he was drawing until he finished and returned the list to you. Then, your lips parted. Each item on the list was illustrated next to its name: ten loaves of bread, a jug of wine, tortellini, four anchovies, two fennel soupsâŠ
âIâll teach you to read when I have time. This will do for now.â
âYouâd do that?â For me?
Jungkook ignored you, before he went back to reading his letters complimenting the good gesture with an irritated, âHurry up.â
That night his co-workers arrived one by one, Jimin the first. The sight of him when you opened the door brightened up your mood.
Unlike a certain someone he was always sweet to you, genuinely interested to know how you fared even if you were just a servant. He claimed that mattered not to him, that you were both commoners and thus equals.
âLook at this place, itâs spotless! And you know Iâm furtive, so I wonât get in your way,â you told Jimin as you escorted him through a hallway, bright from the torches hung on the walls that youâd lit up earlier.
He laughed, âI cannot make you my servant, Y/N, youâre maestroâs.â
âBut heâs going to drive me mad⊠To tell you one of many examples, he often falls asleep in his clothes, and who but I is to take his boots off so they donât get the sheets dirty? If the chalk on his fingers or the dust from the chiseling on his hair wonât already. Bam is far cleanerâŠâ
Jungkook had a workshop he barely set foot in, preferred his team made use of it instead to not be bothered by their idiocy. His words. So it was in a chamber on the ground floor of this house he gave way to artistic insanity. In your book, that meant constant cleaning.
Jimin looked at you fondly. âSounds nightmarish.â
âIt truly is!â
As soon as the two of you entered the dining hall, Bam ran from Jungkookâs side by the fireplace to Jimin, who was as excited to see him.
âGood night, maesââ
âDo you think Iâm deaf, ungrateful brat?â Jungkook interrupted him to bark at you. âRome is full of people begging to get a piece of me, so if you donât like it here, Iâll just get someone else!â
âYou say that and yet keep me like a prisoner!â
âAs if you donât have it better here than anywhere youâve burdened with your presence before!â
âThere, thereâŠâ Jimin interjected to de-escalate, kneeling to better stroke Bam. âMaestro, Iâve seen your latest sketch of the Virgin and Child. She resembles Y/N.â
Both you and Jungkook failed to fight off the embarrassment, gazes unable to find a place to settle. Sitting down on the large table, he explained, âIt was just one time⊠I had used Yoongi as a model, but the Madonna looked too masculine... and rather than going through the trouble of finding some girl and hiring her, I had Y/N pose for me⊠So what! Why bring it up out of nowhereâŠâ
âBecause maybe you just need a bit of distance from time to time. With permission, I too would have Y/N pose for mââ
âAbsolutely not.â
âNow, why the hell not?â you groaned stamping your foot, startling poor Bam. Hope had been born inside you in a second and cruelly crushed in the next.
âBecause I say so. And watch your tone with me.â As usual, the mutual glaring would trick anyone into thinking the next step would be murder. Jimin, who knelt there awkwardly, certainly thought so, at least until the bell rang. âNow go answer the door!â
What happened later, though, rendered the fury Jungkook had evoked in your heart nonexistent and instead seized the thing in a clasp of distress.
In the morning, he walked in when you were sweeping the kitchen. At once you forced the sobs to stop and turned around so he wouldnât see you wipe your tears.
âItâs past nine, whereâs breakfast?â he asked in shock that you hadnât even started making it, the table there empty.
You swore under your breath before leaving the broomstick leaning against the nearest wall, flushed face kept out of Jungkookâs sight, then in a haste fetched a plate, a knife, and a leftover bread loaf. âApologies, master, I forgot. Iâll be upstairs in a minute.â
Sniffling betrayed you, at which Jungkook frowned. âAre you crying?â
Great, the question just about especially designed to make one well up. Not trusting your voice anymore, you shook your head. Jungkook approached, but you couldnât bring yourself to look away from the task at hand, now cutting a few slices of the bread.
âHave you broken something?â You shook your head again, the suppressed sobs making your chin tremble. Jungkook took a deep breath before asking with a surprisingly soothing tone, âThen whatâs wrong?â
âYou wonât believe me.â
âTry me.â
Within an hour, heâd summoned a meeting consisting of all whoâd attended dinner the previous night.
A seemingly calm Jungkook was sat at the head of the table, elbows sunk on it and fingers interlocked. You stood behind him, head still low out of shame. A tense silence had fallen in the chamber some time ago, and sick of it, Jimin shattered it.
âHave you anything to tell us, maestro?â
âI was waiting for Biagio to do so.â
The man was one of Jungkookâs favourite assistants who had worked with him for years, even longer than Jimin. And if it was possible for your position to be trickier, he belonged to some noble family.
âMe? But Iâve nothing to say, maestro.â
Jungkook leaned back in his chair. âMy servant will, then. Y/N?â
Bastard. If you are going to fire me, why make me go through this?
âLast night, w-when I left this hall to go refill the wine jug⊠Messer Biagio followed me into the kitchen, and⊠h-he trapped me from behind, and started t-to touch meâŠâ Your vision soon blurred, hence why you couldnât see clearly how concerned Jimin was for you, or how Biagio jumped up in outrage. âI managed to push him away, and ran upstââ
âHow dare you slander me, wench? Maestro, you do not believe this!â
âDo I not?â
âSheâs lying! I caught her stealing sketches from your study, likely to sell them, so sheâs trying to get rid of me!â
You almost scoffed. Only an idiot would choose the one occasion guests had come over and her absence would be noticed to carry out a theft.
Jungkook tilted his head. âI thought you had nothing to say. Why would you keep such a thing just now?â
Biagio gulped. âI deemed it best to mention it later, in private... You wonât believe a pickpocket before an old friend, will you?â
Silence returned, your breath still as you saw all the assistants and apprentices visibly take pity on him. The only one who didnât was Jimin, but even on his face there was a hint of hesitation. Jungkookâs, you couldnât see from behind, but after an eternity he stood up and walked over only to put a hand on the shoulder of Biagio, who smiled in relief.
A quiet sob broke through your lips, heart sinking. Youâd needed Jungkook to believe you in this. Not because of the consequences his protection as your master could save you from, but because, like it or not⊠he was the closest thing to family you had.
It turned out he did believe you, judging by the punch landed on Biagioâs jaw out of nowhere. And the next one on his cheekbone, and on his nose. Before everyone around the table had barely stood up to stop Jungkook, heâd already thrown Biagio down and straddled him, pulling his doubletâs collar in a close, tight grip as he continued beating him up. Blood was drawn, but for once, you didnât mind having to scrub it later.
Jungkookâs influence trumped a whole noble houseâs, you learned in the course of the months Biagio tried his mightiest and failed most miserably to have him arrested. Perhaps because of the Pope sitting on his shoulder.
That heâd taken your side was still hard to believe, all heâd grumbled with a shrug when you thanked him while tending to his wounds from the fight being, âIâd been waiting for the chance. I always thought Biagio was a weasel.â
With the matter resolved, life returned to normalâwell, whatever that meant in Jeon Jungkookâs household. Because calling for you at the top of his lungs like a madman was not normal. The first time heâd done it youâd raced downstairs, afraid something horrible had happened, only for him to have you close a window as it was getting chilly. Devil rot him. You rushed no longer after that, much to his complaints.
Today, he didnât notice right away when you appeared under the cased opening, and good thing he didnât, for he was polishing a bust with sandpaper⊠shirtless.
Product of hours carving stone into his desired shape or occasionally beating someone up, he could brag of having muscles, which the current task had covered in a layer of sweat and dust. The way they flexed with each movement had you compelled, wanting to reach out, feel if his skin was as hot as the blood pumping through your veins faster and faster. Then your gaze moved to the bust and whatever spell you were under broke.
Hardly an angel was that widowed noblewoman, whom you wished had stayed trapped inside a block of marble. Her name was Madonna Maddalena, and sheâd come some weeks past to make a commission covered in pearls, gold, and boldness.
âMy friends refused to accompany me today. Youâre said to be⊠disagreeable, which Iâm sure is untrue. However, all of them do want to know if youâre as fine-looking as is also rumoured, maestroâ she told Jungkook within minutes of meeting him, still by the entrance!
Now you can tell them heâs not, you bit your tongue before it remarked, as this wasnât Jimin but a patron not to be scared away by your bickering. It wouldnât be true anyway. All your master lacked in manners, he made up for with looks⊠Which youâd never say out loud. Youâd never say either that he looked even better when irked.
âIâve heard many rumours about myself, most of them nonsense. My appearance was involved in none.â
She smiled seductively. âI suppose Iâll have to be the one to spread them.â
âThe weather is pleasant today,â Jungkook changed the subject, flustered beneath the formal demeanour. âShall we have wine in the garden?â You left to prepare it not before catching Maddalena raise her brow at you in disapproval. She mustâve been able to tell you thought she was a pompous cunt.
The beautiful flowers you cared for tried their best outside, but the air didnât get any better.
Sat around a small table, Maddalena explained she wanted a bust of herself by his talented hand to decorate the main hall of her palazzo. You served them wine, not really listening until Jungkook started playing hard to get. The hundred times youâd told him it wasnât a good tactic to make his labour out to be too prestigious had apparently fallen on deaf ears.
âAny other artist could carry this out, Madonna. I am working for the Pope these daysâŠâ he subtly scolded her, a mere mortal, for wasting his precious time. And he wondered why he had a reputation for being arrogant.
Maddalena put his thoughts into plain words, âSo why should you stoop to taking commissions from an insignificant widow?â
âCorrect,â you said under your breath, luckily heard by none from the background, where you stood holding a wine jug until the madonna raised her cup and you approached to refill it.
âIt is then fortunate Iâm to marry a nephew of the Popeâs.â
Swayed by her future influence, Jungkook smiled back. âSo it is.â
âBut not for another week. âTill then, I belong to no man.â The suggestion in her tone almost drove you to spill wine all over her. No, better yet: order Bam to sic on her. Heâd do it.
Just, who did this woman think she was? And why did Jungkook not kick her out right afterwards? It made you wonder whether heâd enjoyed the flirtation. Whether he wouldâve been the one to take things further had his inconvenient servant not been present. It was common for men to have affairs and lovers, but it didnât sit well with you that Jungkook might. Not that you ever imagined him doing any of that, for goodnessâ sakeâ
âWhat took you so long?â
Jungkookâs voice brought you back to the present, under the cased opening.
âI was lazing about, as always,â you quoted his favourite false reprimand, making him roll his eyes, your own dropping to the floor when he walked closer.
âIn that case, prepare a bath for me.â
âYes, master.â
You sighed at all the work ahead. That being a servant was worlds better than living in the streets didnât mean you looked forward to collecting gallons of water from a well, carrying them back, heating them, transferring them to a tub, then washing Jungkookâbecause you did wash him.
Biagio had hurt his left shoulder bad and ever since, heâd needed assistance in certain activities. Curious how he could otherwise chisel a goddamned bust without problem.
Jungkookâs full nudity only made you blush if you stopped scrubbing, so knelt with tucked up sleeves before the wooden tub he was reclined on, scrubbing away the dirt on his skin with lavender-scented soap you were. Maybe all the stupid feelings youâd been suffering lately stemmed from thereâŠ
Head resting on the edge, he was exhausted from the long day of work, taking your rubbing as a relaxing massage. You, however, couldnât ignore the stinging guilt, what with the scar on his shoulder right in front of your face. He probably felt your breathing on it.
âIâm sorry you got hurtâŠâ
Jungkook fought heavy lids only to see you avoid him. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable in front of him was embarrassing, as when heâd caught you crying, but he didnât take advantage of the fact to humiliate you. Jungkook may be an ogre, but he wasnât cruel.
âIâve received worse for less,â he assured you in a calm, low voice. It sounded soothing to your ears.
âThat, I donât doubt,â you scoffed, glancing at his other scar on the cheek. âDid you also get that one in defence of some lady?â
âYouâre nowhere close to a lady.â It could be done, you mused. Drowning him. âThis was courtesy of my brother.â
âYou have a brother?â It dawned on you how little you knew of him. Surely, most had heard it all about the divine Jeon Jungkook, but youâd never cared enough to learn past the shell of gossip, even after months of living with him. In fairness, heâd never asked about you either. You preferred it that way.
âBrothers,â he corrected you. âThe one who did this to me was a wayward fool. Had to teach him a lesson.â
âLooks like he taught one to you.â
âI left with a scratch, he with a limp.â The conception of two brothers hurting each other so harshly widened your eyes for a second, and Jungkook noticed, for he added, âHe was whoring around, wasting the money I worked hard to send, bullying our other brothers as well.â
Much made sense about Jungkook all of a sudden. Not his personality, that was incomprehensible. But why he killed himself to earn money and yet barely spent it⊠He had a family to provide for. Once again, you were reminded of his metaphor. Could an angel be in there?
Carrying on washing Jungkook, you dragged the sponge over to his neck. Then his collarbones, his chest, his abs just peaking above the water... They did look like a sculptureâs, especially wet and soaped, reminiscent of polished marble when the light of the torches reflected on them. Swallowing hard, the back of your fingers gingerly graced Jungkookâs muscles, both soft and firm. Slippery. Whatever possessed you to keep feeling them, you lacked the will to expel from your body, and so without realising your grip on the sponge loosened until it fell to float away, fingertips now free to roam over his abs.
You were slowly trailing downwards, past the waterâs surface, when your wrist was seized and held in the air in a warning manner, the startle almost making you scream.
Sat upright, Jungkook was glaring at you so fiercely you feared for your life. But he didnât say anything and instead just breathed hard, jaw clenched⊠almost as if he was holding back. Your rising heartbeat was deafening in the silence waiting for something to happen, anything, but what did wasnât what a side of you anticipated with excitement.
Jungkook just let go of your wrist and returned to his previous position, and you got hold of the sponge and finished washing him, albeit holding your breath the entire time.
Days later, you came dangerously close to being fired.
The Pope had summoned Jungkookâsomething about a portrait commissionâand you were to carry his bag filled with sketches for him due to his shoulder injury. As you navigated the ever-busy streets of Rome with him, the cold autumn breeze made you regret not putting on an overgown. The cioppa youâd bought with your own salary and not stolen. It brought a smile to your lips that faded at the realisation your mother wouldâve reminded you to put it on before going out.
The sorrow pestering you turned to confusion when Jungkook stopped walking and tsked, telling you loud enough to be heard by all, âLook at him, the chief of police, with such an assemblage.â
A well-dressed man and what appeared to be his entourage walked in your direction, halting near enough. You didnât have to ask to know this was his rival, the renowned painter Kim Taehyung.
âWhereas you, like an executioner, walk alone,â he mocked Jungkook, then noticed you standing behind him like a timid child. âNot completely, my mistake. Maestro, where in your barren soil did you plant such a flower?â He walked over to you, intentionally bumping Jungkookâs wounded shoulder as he passed, causing him to grunt lowly. From up close one was bound to marvel at how handsome Taehyung was, but you didnât need proximity to tell he was a prick. Miles away, you wouldâve known. âWhy donât you come work for me, flower? Iâll make you my muse.â
Jungkook scoffed again, âWhat, for your horseshit paintings? Sheâd be a fool to.â
Taehyung turned around to face him, feigning confusion with a smile. âBut, maestro, how could they be so if you were once heard saying that all I have in art, I got from you?â
"You naturally have to resort to plagiarising my masterâs genius if all you do is horseshit,â you countered, earning surprised looks from every man present, some laughs too, you were proud to say. Jungkook was certainly smirking. Taehyung opened his mouth, but you walked past him uninterested before a response came out of it.
âGood girl,â Jungkook laughed while leaving the crime scene, and for some reason your cheeks burned hot.
The incident happened once inside the Vatican.
Its grandiose corridors alone made you feel small, too unimportant to walk them, whereas Jungkook did so with determination, knowing he belonged at the top of the world. What with your tempestuous relationship, it was easy to forget he was famous throughout Europe. His feet would still never be kissed by you. Someone had to humble the man, right?
At some point the two of you arrived at a door flanked by guards, and averse, you grabbed the sleeve of Jungkookâs doublet.
âDo I have to go in?â
âToo good for the Pope, are you?â He shook you off. âCome on.â
âDamn youâŠâ you muttered.
âWhat did you just say to me?â
âAfter you, master.â
Telling himself heâd be late if he scolded you, Jungkook turned and nodded at the guards, who opened the door of a chamber whose walls were frescoed with angels and saints, likely by Taehyung, giving off the impression one was in Heaven. When you saw him sat on a golden chair, old and grey, enjoying the tune of a lute player, you felt as though youâd just entered Hell.
The audience lasted for ever. While you stood by the door, Jungkook showed the Pope some sketches of the portrait for him to choose his favourite and then they talked and talked of politics. All you could do was fix your gaze somewhere on the floor and sigh.
âYes, Your Holiness, this is the servant I mentionedâŠâ A frown proceeded your looking up to see Jungkook somewhat embarrassed, scratching his nose as if to hide his face. He talked of you to others? Doubtless to complainâŠ
With a sweet voice as if he was talking to a little girl, the Pope asked you, âWhat is your name?â
âNone of your business, Your Holiness.â
The musicianâs tune ceased abruptly, allowing Jungkookâs faint gasp to be heard. Then fell a short silence spent by the Pope blinking, taken aback. âI beg your pardon?â
âYou heard me.â
Jungkook was quick to fake a laugh, though sweat formed at his temples. âA jest! She meant no offence, Your Holiness, but to make you laugh.â
You held the Popeâs glare in defiance, indifferent to the fact he was the most powerful man in the whole of Christendom.
By some miracle, he let it go, and you left that chamber minutes later with your head as yet attached to your body. Your arm wouldnât be for much longer, though, given Jungkook was forcibly dragging you all the way out to the streets, pushing you into the first alley he saw.
âAre you out of your mind?!â he shouted, towering over you menacingly. Unlike the day youâd met, you werenât scared, rather furious as him as you stood your ground. âThat was the Pope, you fool!â
âSo?â
Jungkook was in utter disbelief. âHe couldâve ordered your executionâ mine too!â
âWell, nothing happened!â
âNothing?! Iâm sure to fall out of favour!â He paced around, anxiety quickening his breath. âYears of pouring my soul into my craft, of grovelling before the right people, all thrown away! Good God, your attitude may cost me everythingâŠâ
âAnd what about me?! Everything lost to me does not matter?!â
Jungkook stopped to frown. âWhat the hell are you talking about?â
It was now you who walked up to him. âI didnât have a job, or a reputation, or admirers. I had only a family, and I never wished for anything else! That monster you work for took them from me. When the foreignersâ armies came and everyone rushed to Castel SantâAngelo, he gave the order to close the gates as soon as he was safe behind them! You must have been there with him, werenât you? Well, we werenât. We were left outside to be slaughtered. And I wish I had been, like my parents, so I didnât have to suffer the likes of you any longer!â
Tears were streaming down your face by the end, Jungkook just staring back at you. It didnât surprise him that your parents were dead or that theyâd been killed during the Sack, but that it was so deep a wound left festering in your heart that you didnât mind being put out of misery. He surmised your disrespectful behaviour towards him was also fruit of your pain, especially if you deemed him an ally of the one who caused it.
âThe few things I own⊠Theyâre wasted on me. Throw them away or give them to your next servant,â you sobbed, taking for granted you were fired. Anyone with half a brain would indeed have you dismissed, and part of you knew it was bound to happen, that you would go back to breaking in fucking churches to spend the night.
So you turned around into the main street, set on wandering until your legs became too sore not to collapse. With any luck, a carriage would run over you. But warmth then surrounded your hand, and you looked down to see Jungkookâs holding it tight enough to force you to halt. Though still mad, a hint of compassion sparkled in his eyes.
âLetâs⊠Let us just go home.â
Home. His house had felt so for a while now, truth be told. Himself too.
After that, you non-verbally agreed on a ceasefireâavoiding quarrels, that is, which was quite the task for both.
Such as now that Jungkook had you inking down a letter in his name. First of all, did you look like a scribe? If youâd known in advance the lazy arse would teach you to read and write for this, youâd have chosen to remain illiterate. And second, this was your short break before making dinner, intended to be spent playing with Bam. The poor thing was also in the study, at least being stroked by his owner, who was sat beside you on the desk.
â⊠I send you my regards, may God keep you from all harm. Jeon Jungkook in Rome,â he finally finished dictating, and you recording. âGive it to me, Iâll seal it.â
He was melting the wax with which to do so when the bell rang, to his surprise. Sighing, you stood up and went to open the door to whom turned out to be Jimin. The sight of him brightened you up, and yours stretched his lips into a smile.
âEvening, Y/N.â
âGood evening! I didnât know the master was expecting you.â
âHe isnâtâŠâ You welcomed him in, brows joining at how he continuously chewed on his aforementioned lip and breathed deep through his nose as he followed you. Had something happenedâŠ? A decision to eavesdrop was made en route to the study.
Though Jimin requested for you to stay once there, and nothing could have prepared you for the reason why.
âThis actually concerns Y/NâŠâ You and Jungkook exchanged confused looks, him leaning against the desk and crossing arms as though he didnât like the sound of that. Jimin fixed his already perfect clothes before addressing him, âIâve come to ask for her hand in marriage.â Your jaw dropped. âI know itâs sudden at the lack of previous courtship, but I thought I should ask for your permission before engaging in it, maestro. Sheâs a lovely girl⊠and I think sheâd be happy as my wife. Worry not, I wonât ask for a dowry or for her to stop working⊠Although on second thought, fewer hours of service would be ideal.â
This wasnât real. It couldnât be happening.
Jungkook must be thinking the same, for he squinted to ask, âAre you drunk?â
âN-No, of course not.â
âAre you sure? You want to marry a servant with little to her name.â He had a point, so you werenât offended. If politics werenât the reason for a union, did this mean⊠Jimin had feelings for you?
âMaestro, you say it as if I were a lord,â he chuckled. âI donât care about Y/Nâs possessions, Iâll provide for her anyway. Iâve⊠always been fond of her. And I dare say she shares the sentiment.â
Betrayal hid safely behind a look that asked if there was any truth to that. Obviously not! There was no romance in your own fondness for Jimin. If anything, you had thought he saw you as a younger sister to look after, therefore as a protective older brother you saw him. But so shocked were you still that no words managed to come out, and Jungkookâs gaze shifted back to Jimin.
âIâll think about it. You may go.â
A curt tone was the norm for Jungkook, it was not being granted his blessing that disappointed Jimin. He knew for a fact he was an honourable man, so why wouldn't he entrust you to him?
âQuite well⊠Iâll show myself out.â he uttered, before making his leave failing to hide his low spirit by giving you one last shy smile you hadnât the heart to return.
An awkward silence filled the air that even Bam darenât break. Only once the front door was heard shutting did you walk closer to Jungkook.
âYou wonât agree to this, will you?â
âWhy shouldnât I? I have to get rid of you at some point.â
âRid of me? Like Iâm a burden?â you asked, voice rising. How a servant could be so was unknown to you until, like wooden ship toys did when youâd submerge them in a bucket of water as a child, certain guesses surfaced in your thoughts. Trying to pickpocket him, the constant clashing, Biagio, that bath, the Pope⊠Yes, you may perhaps be described as a burden. But you didnât want to leave. With a calmer tone, you pleaded, âIâll behave from now on. I wonât cause any more trouble, I swear.â
Jungkook didnât deign to look your way as he left, followed by Bam. âYou have to marry at some point, Y/N. Otherwise people will gossip.â
Since when did he care about what people said of him? And why should you?
Winter having dropped its anchor, nightfall arrived early. Not early enough, you brooded as you cooked dinner, longing for the day to end once and for all. With any hope, all of this was a nightmare and upon waking up in the morning life would go back to normal. You didnât even know why you wanted to stay with Jungkook, as the occasions in which youâd begged Jimin to employ you to leave this house were countless. The only certain thing was that you were upset.
Later, after washing all plates and cups, you began to put off all torches lighting the house, finding out in the hall that Jungkook hadnât moved from the seat heâd dined in. You considered carrying on with your job and leaving him in the dark, but he wouldnât find it as funny. Instead, you stood before him.
âWill that be all, master?â
The coldness in your expression made him sigh, âY/Nââ
âI shall retire, then.â You turned to leave but were made to stop in your tracks.
âItâs an advantageous proposal for you,â he lectured to whom he must believe an idiot. âJimin works for me, heâs wealthy. A better match than you could ever aspire to. And he asks for no dowry because he doesnât want money, he wants youâŠâ His words were tainted with resentment. âHeâll take good care of you.â
Skirt of your dress swirling along, you faked a smile. âIf you think so, master, then it must be so.â
He shook his head as he leaned back in defeat. âSuit yourself, but I wonât be the one to reject Jimin. You crush his heart.â
A laugh escaped you. âIf you genuinely cared about him, you wouldnât let him marry a woman in love withââ Oh no. It only hit you as you were saying it.
Jungkook had appeared annoyed, but now he was mad. âWho?â He stood up abruptlyâchairâs feet scratching against the floor making you winceâand walked so close you were backed against the wall, face forced to turn to a side. In a low, deep voice, he repeated, less as a question and more as an order this time, âWho.â
There was no way in the nine circles of Hell youâd say it, when you didnât want to believe it in the first place. For fuckâs sake, why? Jungkook only ever made you want to get away from him. That was the case right now, but then⊠why were your feet frozen?
Some unreasonable part of you seemed to have prevailed upon the others, casting away all resistance from your body and allowing yourself to indulge in Jungkookâs proximity. You met his eyes without fear, held his dark gaze. It didnât take him long to work it out, yet he kept close, so close your unsteady breaths mingled, the effect akin to intoxication. He was visibly trying to hold back, telling himself itâd be a bad idea, but you prayed he wouldnât care.
By God or the Devil, your prayers were heard.
Jungkook finally smashed his lips into yours, devouring them with a hunger you shared and felt growing as he gripped your waist to press you against him. A minute ago, you wouldnât have imagined his tongue belonged inside your mouth, swirling around your own, and now you wanted it all over your body. As if reading your mind, Jungkook broke the ardent kiss to move down to your neck, which he licked painfully slowly before sucking hard, making you hiss with pleasure. He knew that would leave a mark, the bastard. You wondered if it was meant for Jimin, so heâd see you were Jungkookâs, and in such case you didnât mind, let your eyelids close to enjoy it.
Steered by the lust possessing you, one hand grabbed his soft hair in a fistful, keeping his head in place where he was sweetly abusing your neck, while the other travelled southwards until it reached his crotch and held it over the trousers, feeling his cock stiffen. Jungkook groanedâa vibration to your skinâin retaliation lifting your skirt. Youâd thought he'd take his time, tease you, but after ensuring you were wet enough by gliding his middle finger along your core, he slid it inside and began making beckoning motions.
âMasterâŠâ you moaned, legs shaking. Jungkook forsook your neck to pull back, watch how you struggled to keep it together as he added another finger, curling and uncurling them both, hitting all the right places, and unwilling to give him that satisfaction without consequences you groped his erection with the same vigour. Although he was in good control of his expression, his breath quivered against your lips, so he kissed them again, biting hard into your lower one.
He exhaled, âYouâre driving me to sinâŠâ
Indeed, the same fingers that held the brushes when he painted religious artwork were buried deep inside your cunt, bringing you the most sinful ecstasy. It made you chuckle. Jungkook took that as the mockery it was and, crossed, pulled his fingers out of you to drag you by the arm to the edge of the table, where he had you sit. Without delay he lifted your skirt again, only this time he also pulled down his trousers to reveal his cock, thick and throbbing, which he pumped as he watched you spread your legs eagerly, ready to take all of him.
With his free hand Jungkook cupped your cheek, thumb caressing your lower lip, coated with saliva and reddened still from when heâd bit it. He could sense your desire, that you craved him inside, had for a while. Desperately. And however much tempted he was to make you beg for it, his own arousal led his cock to your entrance and eased it inside already, another groan hitting the back of his bared teeth. You didnât have time to gasp, his thrusts so quick they earned only moans, so wonderful did it feel.
Jungkookâs hand on your cheek then wrapped around your neck. âDo you know how often Iâve fantasised strangling you?â
You chuckled again as you slapped him across the face. Jungkook halted his movements in shock, glared at you. âAnd I slapping you?â
It took him a moment, but he scoffed and pushed you back so that you were lying down, climbing next atop you, confident that the wooden table was sturdy enough to hold both. So legs hooked around his torso and arms around his neck, you welcomed his thrusts, rough enough to make your eyes water. But it felt heavenly, how he ravished you... The mutual irritation and tension building up for over half a year translated into indescribable pleasure.
He kissed you again, flicking his tongue against yours as he pounded into you without mercy. Overwhelmed by the sensation, all you could do to express you were nearing your limit was sink your nails into Jungkookâs biceps at each side of you, moan inside his mouth. He took the hint and fucked you as fast as his body would allow, within mere seconds your walls clenching tight around him. The sight of you collapsing under him, overcome with bliss, made him reach his own highest shortly, spurting his warm seed inside you.
As his movements gradually ceased, so did your panting. Before a complete silence fell, you asked, âAm I still to marry Jimin?â
Jungkook grabbed your face and growled against your pouted lips, âYouâre not going anywhere.â

You opened the front door of your house as fast as you could because you had a Park Jongseong pressed against your back, attacking the nape of your neck like he was hungry and you were his dinner.Â
He smirked when you finally pushed both of you inside of your house, where you had been meeting almost everyday after work, to have some fun, and today was no exception.Â
His fingers were already on his tie, loosening it as he made you walk to your bedroom, supporting you from your ass with his other hand.Â
âCâmon darling.â He kind of jumped with excitement behind you as he saw your bed, that you didnât even bother to make and some underwear laying on top.Â
He let his body fall on the mattress, legs spread as he unbuttoned his shirt with a smug smile. You rolled your eyes at his boyish behavior but you followed him as you straddle his lap and pulled his shirt over his shoulders, exposing his bare chest to your eyes.Â
âI sucked you off yesterday so itâs your turn.â You sweetly smiled and he groaned, his back falling to the bed. âWas too excited for a head, fuck.âÂ
âIâm sorry, Park.â You shrugged your shoulders in tiny, as you kissed his exposed chest and then his neck, making him whimper under you. âAlso, we both know how much you like giving me head.â You smirked against his skin, remembering the time he cummed in his pants while he was eating you out under the sheets.Â
âYouâre never going to stop talking about this right?â He huffed, before grabbing your chin to kiss your lips, which you do rarely, especially when you both are in the need to relieve stress.Â
âLooks like you want romantic fuck?â You pouted, when you broke the kiss and made him giggle.Â
âMhm, if you also want to of course.â He pushed a strand of hair that was falling in front of your eye.Â
âYou drived me crazy at work, and now youâre asking me to make love to you..â You rolled your eyes in a mocking way before you kissed his lips once more, making him feel butterflies that he didnât want to feel at all.Â
Jayâs eyes closed with pleasure, when you kissed his neck slowly, sucking his skin and making him whimper underneath you. Jay and you have been in this routine for the past two weeks maybe, and for sure, this became his favorite part of the day.Â
You made work fun for him, knowing he will get to taste you after a long stressful day, it really made being an attorney bearable. Having a clever partner which he gets to fuck after work.Â
Your fingers unbuckled his belt quickly, as your lips were attached to his birthmark on his neck, then you felt his hands grabbing you by the waist tightly, pushing you more into his crotch as you straddled him.Â
âOohh..âÂ
You snapped your head up from his neck, hearing his painful moan, to look at his eyes with red and plump lips from kissing, âWhat now?âÂ
He flipped you over on the bed and got on top, then a cheesy smile covered his lip, before he nibbled on his bottom lip like a naughty kid.
âI need to pee so badly.âÂ
You gave him a dead glare because this wasnât the first instead of being hot and sexy, deciding to tell the most random and weird thing his little mind can ever come up with.Â
âWhat did I do to deserve you?âÂ
He got up from the bed and walked to the door as he had a hand on his crotch area, âItâs your karma for beating me at Harvard, darling.âÂ
Well even though Jay was incredibly weird and a mood killer most of the time, he always made you end up crying on his dick, wanting for more, begging for more.
Even the times when he insisted to have a romantic fuck, like an actual couple, with kisses and words. Both of you wanted to think this was just an act, since the beginning of your agreement. Youâd love to take your anger out of each other as well as this. But Jay was dying inside, why you had to make love so softly, his heart was literally aching whenever you touched him.Â
When he was thrusting in and out of you, your arms wrapped around his neck tightly and your lips against his, letting him swallow your moans, you craved him more. Most of the time he went back to his place but sometimes you craved the man who just fucked you to stay all night beside you. It just felt better, nothing has to do with Jay at all.Â
âJay?âÂ
He shivered when you mumbled his name all of a sudden, but tried to act cool as much as possible, âYeah?âÂ
âCan you stay with me tonight?âÂ
The way he nodded so quickly made you want to smile so hard.Â
You brought your hands to his cheeks, caressing the top of his cheekbones lightly, âThanks.âÂ
He gulped, shaking his head to the sides, âIt is actually closer to work from your house, plus you drive and gas is kinda expensive these days..âÂ
Your mouth opened with shock, the audacity this man had to say all these, when he was inside you, fucking you!?
âOh god, I really do hate you, like a lot.âÂ
âWhy we fucking right now then?â
You sighed deeply, as he brushed his nose against yours and pressed his lips to your tilted cheek, âTell me.âÂ
âTell you what?â You mumbled, trying to sound as neutral as possible as he landed butterfly kisses to your jaw.Â
âWhy we canât keep our hands off each other, if you hate me so much?âÂ
He rocked his hips slightly harder to get a reaction out of you when you deadpanned, and it worked, you moaned, looking at him with questioning eyes.Â
âBecause you make me feel good.âÂ
âCouldnât hear that, darling.âÂ
You got angry and grabbed his chin between your fingers to push his face to yours, making him stare at you. Your lips were dangerously close again as you speaked.Â
âYou make me feel good.âÂ
A pretty smile formed on his lips before he kissed you, his arms snaking around your body, and yours around his neck, as your lips danced against each other. When Jay pushed his tongue between your lips you let him, and with a move with your hip and a push to his shoulder, you turned his body over, making both of you lay on sides.Â
His one hand creeped to the back of your head and pushed your face even closer to his, noses and teeth bumping against each other for a while, until you completed the turn and got on top of him.Â
Your chest was pressed to his as you started rocking your hips, and your lips didnât leave each other not even for a second. Even when you wanted to breathe, your lips were on his, and you just breathed into his mouth, before he pushed your head down again, licking into your mouth messily.Â
You softly giggled when he pulled the sheets to cover you up and then massaged your back over it. He knew you got cold easily.Â
Your lips dropped down to his sharp jawline and you couldnât help but bite the tensed muscle, making him hiss. âRelax, babe.âÂ
His clenched jaw softened, and you smiled and started kissing his skin there, this time making him whimper softly. âMhm, such a good boy.âÂ
âAh, good boy, huh?âÂ
You hummed sweetly, putting a hand on his cheek to pinch lightly, âArenât you one?âÂ
You gasped when his hands grabbed your ass and squeezed your skin harshly. Then he put his finger where his cock was parting you apart and pushed himself deeper in you, âAm I?âÂ
You gasped, feeling his thighs against yours.
âFuck you.âÂ
âYouâre already at it.âÂ
âYouâre so deep.â You closed your eyes for a second and then sighed, opening your eyes to his smug face.Â
âI know, I can feel it too.âÂ
âAsshole.â You bit back, trying to move your hips slightly.Â
âYou like me.â He smirked, guiding your hips on his cock.Â
âI despise you.âÂ
âYou are sitting on my cock.âÂ
âUgh.â You whined, grasping his face between your fingers before kissing him angrily, making him let out a manly yet soft laugh into your mouth.Â
âYouâre lucky this is still my favorite time of the day.â You mumbled and then smirked, making Jay roll you over and get on top again, having a hand behind your head.Â
His lips pressed to yours as he started fucking you faster and harder, just the way you liked it, making you let out his favorite sounds.Â
2018, Harvard
Your eyes were burning from studying for your final exam and your neck was killing you from the sitting position you had for the past seven hours.Â
I need to beat Jongseong.Â
âUgh, speak of the devil..â You rolled your eyes, seeing your biggest rival and the guy you hated the most entering the library, with his glasses you thought were not prescribed at all. Loser.
Library was almost empty and he had plenty of seats for him to choose and sit. Yet, you winced when he loudly pulled the chair next to you, making people look at you, and earning a scolding âsshâ from the librarian.Â
âWhatâs up?â He whispered, making you give him a deadly look.Â
âHorrible, since you decided to sit next to me and interrupt my studying.âÂ
He rolled his tongue in his mouth, and he enjoyed how he had the magic to get you so angry. He watched you in classes, you were not a hot headed person at all, everyone loved you so much. You were like honey to them, their hardworking, helpful, sweet y/n. Even the professors loved you so much, only if they knew you were a brat out of the classroom.
He shrugged lightly, âYou look like shit.âÂ
You didnât even remove your eyes from the paper which you were highlighting with a neon colored pen. He mightâve been right, your hair was in a messy bun, you were on your period, you had zits on your chin due to hormonal imbalance, and your under eyes were baggy.Â
All the things you sacrificed to beat his ass.Â
âI know.âÂ
He smirked before he put his hands on your shoulders, and attempted to massage them, which made you let out a tiny scream.Â
âHey!âÂ
He gave you a soft look under his lashes, you just knew he had another evil plan in his head just by looking at his pretty cat eyes.Â
âYou look tense and stressed and horrible and â
âCome to the point, Jay.âÂ
He huffed, pulling you from your chair closer to his, making yet another loud sound, and another deadly look from the librarian falling on you both.Â
âLet me massage your shoulders a little bit, princess. Donât worry, I am really good at it.âÂ
When you were dating Sunghoon, he used to tell you how amazing massages Jay gives to his friends, and if he ends up jobless, he can basically open a spa. Only problem was, you never trusted Jay, and you still thought he must have had an evil plan.Â
But you had zero energy on your spine to hold you up, and you were planning to take a fifteen minute break anyway to sleep. That was your sleep schedule during finals.. fifteen minutes. It could have been an hour if Jongseong didnât exist though.Â
âI wanna race on equal terms,â He showed you his teeth as he smiled and then you felt his fingers grasping on your shoulders, kneading your muscles gently.Â
âOh..â
âGood, right?â He smirked, looking at your relaxed eyebrows, as he worked his magic on you.Â
You were only able to nod, as your eyes were closed now, and when they were closed, Jay stared at your highlighted parts, the parts you refused to give him when he asked for it and were possible final questions.Â
âNow I will massage your neck,â He whispered, putting only one hand on the base of your tilted neck, eyes still closed as the devil himself took his phone out from his pocket, and took pictures of your textbook.
Now his plan was to fuck off, and sit somewhere else and study these until the morning. His plan worked.Â
He smirked, gathering his belongings to get up, but your head fell down to his shoulder suddenly.Â
You just fell asleep on his shoulder.Â
How exhausted you might have been to fall asleep this quick on his shoulder, you were like those weird people on a plane who abruptly fell on you and you had to just go with it.Â
He huffed as he stared down at your sleeping face on his shoulder, and licked his lips to the view â He had to admit, you were still pretty with dry patches of skin on your forehead and pimples he wanted to squeeze on your chin.Â
Then he got sleepy too as he studied the parts he stole from you from his phone screen, and his head slowly fell on top of yours, falling asleep.Â
Your fifteen minute break, turned into a three hour long sleep, on Jayâs shoulders and his evil plan also failed, since he fell asleep with you, instead of studying.Â
When you woke up, you had only an hour left until the exam, and the sun was already shining outside. You touched the first thing that was next to you, which happened to be your beloved rivalâs chest.Â
Then you saw his phone in his hand, and your textbook fully open, and you immediately knew.Â
âPark!â You screamed so loud, pushing his head from yours, literally forgetting you were in the library.Â
âI am going to kill you with my own hands, you idiot!â You yelled, slapping his upper arm continuously as tears formed on your eyes from anger.Â
His awakening was too fast for him to gather his thoughts and to understand why you were beating him up, âI hate you! You are the devil, Park Jongseong!âÂ
People were huffing and grumbling at your voice being so loud, even not that, the constant slapping that came from the contact you applied to his shoulder.Â
âGod! Stop! I didnât mean to make you fall asleep.â He raised his hands beside his head, in a defensive way, âI am sorry, okay?âÂ
You gathered your belongings on the table quickly, as the librarian stood beside you both, cursing and shaming you for disrespecting everyoneâs studies.Â
âOkay! I am leaving, stop yelling at me.â You cried as you shouted again, and then turned back to Jay to push him again. âGo to hell, Park. I mean it.âÂ
He got up and pushed you against the table when the woman left, thinking no one could see.
âAs you can see, I was also asleep, y/n.â He talked between his teeth, getting angry at your tantrum. âIf my plan was to put you in sleep and make you fail the test, I wouldnât have let you sleep on my shoulder, right?âÂ
âYou stole my notes.â You pressed your pointer next to his heart, as you let out every word.Â
âYeah, but my plan was to study them, not fucking falling asleep on you!â He screamed this time, pushing your hand from his chest aggressively, âInstead, you fell asleep on me like an annoying stray cat and now I will fail too!âÂ
You laughed sarcastically, putting your hand on your forehead, as you tried to process everything â this bitch ass was blaming you for everything now?Â
âYouâre an asshole, Park.â You grabbed your bag and pushed him so you could slide between his body and the table he trapped you between.Â
After you left, a poor med student came closer to Jay, and pulled him the finger.Â
âI will write this on the Harvard forumâ For people to never study in this library when you two dickheads are here.âÂ
Now the same guy was kissing down your body to your core, you werenât able to see his face as he was lost under the covers, pressing soft kisses on your clit.Â
âAs promised.â He mumbled before diving his tongue between your folds and licking you, making your knees bent with pleasure and giving him more room down there.Â
âFuck.â Your eyes rolled, fingers running through his silky strands as he licked your cunt.Â
âDonât stop â oh!âÂ
His skilled tongue, made you let out all kinds of whimpers and moans and what he loved the most listening to them, as a proof of how good he made you feel. It satisfied something inside of him that he wasnât able to name or understand but one thing he was sure of was, he enjoyed being the cause of your pleasure.Â
âFingers too, please.âÂ
He giggled against your clit and he pushed the covers on his back to be able to see your face covered with lust. And seeing Jay between your legs and staring up at you like a hungry animal always got you going.Â
âLook at you begging so pretty.âÂ
You rolled your eyes at him, pushing his face more to your pussy, his nose brushing against your throbbing clit.Â
He didnât hesitate to shove two fingers inside your cunt easily, which was filled with his cock a few minutes ago. You whined so much on his dick and said dirty stuff to his ear while he was deeper than ever, so he kind of cummed earlier than he planned.Â
âOh! Yes, so good.â You sighed loudly, at the combination of his lips sucking on your clit and his fingers stirring your cunt and pumping them, lewd noises filling your bedroom.Â
He flicked your sensitive nub with the tip of his tongue, before he sucking it again, making you roll your head back, while your juices spilled up to his forearm.Â
âFuck, so wet, darling.â He smirked, as he pushed his finger deeper and curled them inside, making you scream. âSo wet and messy.âÂ
âPlease, I am so close.â You looked at him with desperation and he couldnât make you wait any longer after seeing your hazy eyes staring at him.Â
Then his continuous thrusts against your g-spot with his thick fingers started, making you squirm and melt into the bed, his lips trapped between his teeth as he watched your ruined expressions.Â
You cummed, coating his fingers with your slick even more, if it was possible. He caressed your opening gently after pulling his fingers down, and then rubbed them along your folds, before he licked everything, making you cry with the overwhelmed feeling.Â
âYou look so cute when you cum.âÂ
His words made you blush and you refused to look at him but his wet fingers grabbed your cheek and forced you to stare at his pretty eyes.Â
âYou owe me a good blow now.âÂ
Your face scrunched up, pushing his chest for him to fall next to you, his manly laugh echoing in the room. âYou are so romantic.â You mumbled in a sarcastic tone.
You wanted to get up from the bed but his hand wrapped around your wrist, pulling you to his chest quickly. âDo you want me to be romantic?â He raised a single eyebrow, a smirk covering his plump wet lips.Â
You shook your head as you tried to push yourself away from his chest, âUgh, I donât, ew â I was just, forget it.âÂ
When you tried to get out of his hold, you winced, a sharp pain spreading along your tense muscle.Â
âWhat happened?â He panicked, seeing you putting a hand behind your neck and closing your eyes in pain.Â
âI keep getting neck pains at work.â You mumbled, âItâs one of them.âÂ
He smirked, putting his palms on your shoulders as you held the sheets to cover your chest, moaning when he gently kneaded your muscles.Â
âLast time you did this, I got my lowest grade in my whole academic life.â
He laughed loudly as you let your head lean to the back to look at his face, âDo you remember?âÂ
He nodded and couldnât help himself, leaning down to kiss your forehead, making you put your hand over your mouth in shock.Â
His hands stopped moving and one of them grabbed your wrist and freed your lips, and you were shocked when he grabbed both of your cheeks and kissed your lips, and it was like the kiss in spiderman, instead the top of your head was leaning against his chest.Â
âI remember you falling asleep on my shoulder.â He mumbled into your mouth as he slowly kissed you, making goosebumps raise up on your skin.Â
He pulled himself from your lips, and squeezed your cheeks, lightly giggling at your upside down face.Â
His heart skipped a beat when you caressed his thighs, and then smirked, âCan I do it again? Because my neck is hurting a lot.âÂ
âOh!â He immediately released your head from his hold and rested himself on the headboard of your bed. When he smiled at you gently and tapped his shoulder for you to come, you quickly crawled to him, resting your head there.Â
He wondered what if he had you as his girlfriend? Putting your head on his shoulder every night because even though you denied it a few years ago, Jay was the only person who was able to put you to sleep during your busy schedule.Â
And he imagined you looking up at him with doe eyes, putting your lips next to his before kissing him every night.Â
âCan you kiss me once?âÂ
You stared up at him with confused eyes, âHm?âÂ
âJust a kiss goodnight.â He mumbled, closing his eyes and grabbing your face with one hand. âI need to know.âÂ
You smiled in confusion, your eyebrow raising up.Â
âKnowing what?â You got closer to him and caressed his chest softly, making him lean into your touch.Â
âPlease, y/n.âÂ
Your heart was beating so fast in your chest as your hand traveled from his chest to his cheek, tugging on his skin gently as you pulled him to your mouth, both of your eyes closing at the feeling of having each otherâs lips.Â
He smiled into the kiss as he got his answer, and when he smirked you broke the kiss, his head fell against your chest as he started giggling.Â
âWhat? Jay!â You got confused even more when he pulled you to his chest and kissed the top of your head, keeping you getting surprised at his weird and loving behavior all of a sudden.Â
âDid you get your answer?â You asked, without knowing what was the question he had and why his answer was hidden in the kiss you just gave him.Â
He sighed deeply, hugging your bare body even closer to his as he nodded his head. âI did.âÂ
You and I will fall in love.Â

ONE â desire for blood
The moon held high in the night sky, casting an eerie glow over the deserted streets. Sunghoon quickened his pace, brushing against the tall trees that stood before him. Seeking respite, he sought out an empty clearing, settling upon a rugged rock, a faint groan escaping his lips as a throbbing ache pulsated in his head. The change in his eye color served a reminder that he needed to find something, a person whose blood he could consume.
âJay, Iâm going to murder you.â he muttered under his breath, stealing a glance at the night sky. Jay had left him to venture alone, an attempt to foster his independence. âI better find someone, fast.â Renewed determination surged through him as he rose from the rock, relying on his heightened senses and supernatural swiftness to locate his prey.
It was difficult to find someone out in the dark, anyone would know better not to walk alone at night. Especially near the forests, near the vampireâs homes. Yet, there were always those foolish souls who remained oblivious to the dangers, dismissing the existence of the immortal creatures. This was the only time Sunghoon wished for a person just like that to appear in front of his eyes.
Moving with an otherworldly grace, Sunghoon's senses sharpened, propelling him forward with astonishing speed as the scent grew stronger. His swift strides covered considerable ground within mere seconds, until his gaze settled upon a woman strolling along the trail adjacent to the forestâan unwitting offering destined to be his meal for the night.
Focusing on his thoughts, he quickly tapped into the energy that coursed through his immortal veins. Gradually, his body began to shimmer, as if fading from the mortal realm. His transition was complete, and Sunghoon found himself invisible, taking swift steps toward his victim.
Unaware of the danger, his target continued along her path, oblivious to the invisible presence stalking her. Sunghoon positioned himself behind you, mere inches away, his concealed form ready to strike. A muffled scream escaped your lips, stifled by his own hand.
Frantically attempting to break free, her resistance waned, her body growing limp in his firm grasp. A smirk tugged at Sunghoon's lips as his elongated fangs became visible, a sinister transformation hinting at his insatiable thirst. Another night, another feast secured. Without delay, he took her away to his old castle, where he would drain every drop of blood from his new victim.
TWO â bite me
Upon entering the castle, Sunghoon was greeted by a bustling scene that filled the halls. His eyes landed on Jay, lounging in a chair and casually holding a wine glass filled with blood. Jay's legs rested nonchalantly on Sunghoon's cherished table, an act that irked him.
"You're back?" Jay chuckled, wiping the traces of blood from his mouth. Sitting up straight, he placed the glass down and met Sunghoon's gaze. "How did it go?"
"It went fine, but once I finish my meal, I'm going to make sure you regret leaving me alone," Sunghoon retorted, his tone laced with a simmering threat.
"Oh, come onâwait, you brought your meal home? I thought you were planning on disposing of that body," Jay remarked, raising an eyebrow in surprise.
"Yeah, well, Jake does this all the time," Sunghoon replied dismissively, his impatience growing.
"That's true. Well, you better hurry. I can sense that the girl is about to regain consciousness," Jay advised, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips.
"I'm on it. And please refrain from putting your feet on my table. I had it custom made for a reason," Sunghoon grumbled, annoyance evident in his voice.
"I can't make any promises," Jay retorted with a smirk, reclaiming his drink. Sunghoon rolled his eyes in exasperation before walking up the spiral staircase. He showed no signs of struggle as he made his way to his room.
Arriving at a door emblazoned with his name, Sunghoon pushed it open, revealing a room adorned with eerie decor. He carefully placed you in front of his ornate chair, a seat that had witnessed countless victims before their deaths.
Adjusting the leather straps to your wrists, he makes sure itâs difficult for you to break free. Settling into his seat, he positioned himself directly in front of you, patiently awaiting your return to consciousness. It didn't take long for the groan that signaled your awakening to reach his ears.
As you struggled to open your eyes, the world appeared hazy and disorienting. Blinking repeatedly, you attempted to discern the figure before you, but the blurriness persisted. Your hand instinctively moved to rub your eyes, only to discover the confinement of the restraints. Panic surged through your veinsâwere you being held captive?
"You're finally awake?" His voice resonated, sending shivers down your spine in a way no ordinary human's voice ever had. Gradually, your vision cleared, revealing a man seated across from you. His dark brown hair fell messily across his forehead, while he wore a black cloak, a suit adorned with ornate gold gems, and a partially unbuttoned white shirt, hinting at an air of elegance mingled with darkness.
Taking off his cloak, he makes eye contact with you again, and you get a gulp of fear. A smirk played on his lips, his sharpened fangs now fully visible, confirming your worst suspicionsâhe was a vampire. Your heart raced, with fear coursing through your veins with increasing intensity. Fuck, they were actually real. You were certainly not dreaming.
"Your fear only enhances your scent. Only makes it smell sweeter and irresistible for vampires like me." He remarked, rising from his seat, his senses captivated by the intoxicating aroma that came from you. Rare and special, your scent beckoned to him, captivating his vampiric instincts. Grateful that Jay's hunger hadn't pushed him to steal his meal in mere moments, Sunghoon savored the anticipation.
âYou'd better calm that racing heart of yours before I lose control," he warned, his frigid breath grazing your neck as he leaned in closer to deliver his message. Inhaling deeply, you tried to steady your breathing, attempting to stop the pounding beats that echoed within your chest. Sunghoon emitted a low chuckle, surprised at how obedient humans could become when vulnerable to the supernatural allure of his presence.
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued as he observed your lack of response. Returning to his seat, he locked eyes with you once again, awaiting your words with an air of anticipation. Yet silence hung heavily in the room; words didnât seem to escape easily from your mouth.
âYou know, Iâm not very patient,â he hissed softly, dissatisfied with the lingering quiet that filled his large room. âDonât think you have any chance of making it out here alive. Just spit it out already.â Crossing his legs, he reached for the golden wine glass, tapping his sharp nails against the delicate surface, his gaze never leaving yours.
Caught off guard by the pressure, panic slipped past your lips, the words tumbling out before you could fully comprehend their weight. âJustâŠ.bite me.â The room fell into an eerie silence, granting you a moment to process what you had just said. Regret mingled as you realized the significance of what you had uttered.
âWell, thatâs certainly unexpected,â Sunghoon responded, a mixture of bewilderment and intrigue flashing across his eyes. He sets the golden cup down, unable to form words himself. The request to be bitten, especially after learning his true nature as a vampire, was entirely new to him. It sparked a strange sensation within his being, a feeling he couldnât quite decipher. Do humans also feel these kinds of emotions?
âYouâre definitely a weird one,â Sunghoon remarked, still feeling flustered by your unconventional response.
âWhat do you mean?â you questioned, pretty oblivious to the whole situation.
âMost people wouldnât dare ask a vampire to bite them, especially after their lives are on the line. It takes away the thrill of the feast,â he explained, a faint smile playing on his lips.
âWait, so you vampires feed off fear too?â you inquired, attempting to make sense of the earlier statement.
âThatâs a bit rude of you to address us that way.â A small frown forms on his face. âBut, of course,â he replied, amusement evident in his tone, âthatâs why I told you to claim your racing heart. Fear tends to make it beat even faster.â
âWell, guess what? I am scared right now,â you retorted, defiance lacing your words. âBut you can just take a small amount of bloodâdefinitely not all of it, I swear. And donât forget, Iâll fight back if you push too far.â
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow, his amusement turning into a more serious demeanor. âBold words from a mere weakling. Donât forget who holds the power of a vampire here.â
âDonât forget, youâre basically glued to that seat.â He taps on the arm rests of his chair, signaling the leather straps that restrain your hands from moving anywhere.
âWhatever,â you dismissed, frustration tainting your voice. âAre you going to bite me or not? I just want to get out of here, even though I have nowhere to go.â
A flicker of warning passed through Sunghoon's eyes as he leaned in closer. "Don't test my patience. You have no idea what I'm capable of."
Maintaining a strong gaze, Sunghoon straightened his posture, his eyes locking with yours. His tongue briefly flicked over his lips, causing his sharp fangs to show once more. âDo you really mean that?â he inquired, his voice laced with a mix of curiosity and hunger.
Nervously, you swallowed hard, offering a slow nod in response, Closing your eyes, you braced yourself, knowing his approach would come closer. The sound of his approaching footsteps echoed in your ears, heightening your fear. Your breath got caught in your throat as his breath brushed against your skin, signaling the upcoming bite. âThe pain will be bearable. Just let me know when to stop, and Iâll stop,â he assured you.
âReally?â you stammered, your voice trembling, to which Sunghoon responded with a chuckle. âVampires have self-control too, you know.â
With the warning given, his teeth easily punctured your neck, and to your surprise, the pain seemed to be more manageable than you thought. He proceeded to drink your blood, causing your head to grow dizzy as if he were sucking all your blood. âStop,â you groaned, feeling the need to stop the dizziness.
Sunghoon withdrew his teeth, his mouth and fangs were stained with your blood. He was disappointed about how short you lasted, but your blood was greatâthe best he had in a while. It was sort of addicting; he couldnât explain the taste. âBarely lasted two minutes. You truly are a weakling,â he snickered, wiping the blood from his chin.
"Shut up," you retorted, the remnants of your strength pushing you to respond. "Could you release my hands now? I promise I won't attempt to escape." You were desperate to remove the restraints being placed on your hands; you felt them becoming sore.
âOh right,â he replied, walking over to free your hands effortlessly. As the restraints were finally removed, you let out a sigh of relief, feeling the soreness and observing the red marks left behind on your wrists. Instinctively, you tilted your head, your fingers gently making their way to the two puncture wounds near your neck. A hiss escaped your lips as pain radiated from the fresh marks.
âIt should heal on its own soon, unless youâd prefer me to heal it immediately,â Sunghoon offered, his gaze focused on your every move. Curiosity tugged at his features as he awaited your response. âAnd how would you heal it?â you questioned, wary yet curious about his suggestion.
âWell, if youâre comfortable with me licking itââ
âIâve heard enough,â you interjected, cutting him off. âIâll passâIâd be fine with some ointment or bandages.â
âSuit yourself. Iâll fetch something downstairs,â he stated, rising from his seat and adjusting the sleeves of his jacket. âDonât even try to leave; we have matters to discuss later. And remember, there are other vampires roaming around here who wonât show you the same mercy I did. It would be wise of you to keep that in mind.â With those words of caution, he walked towards the roomâs entrance and left after receiving your assurance,
Once again, you found yourself with nowhere else to go. And you definitely did not want to face any more bloodthirsty beings; one was definitely enough. However, an unsettling feeling gnawed at your stomach, and you tried to brush it aside by distracting your thoughts.
As you looked around, the weird atmosphere of the place suddenly became more noticeable, leaving you shuddering that you had only just noticed it.
THREE â keeping a secret
Leaving you to deal with your thoughts, Sunghoon ran down the stairs and made his way through the kitchen, determined to locate a first aid kit. As he rummaged through the cupboards, a voice suddenly disrupted his search, causing him to startle in fright. Jake, wearing a mischievous smirk, held a large cup of blood in his hand.
âGod, donât do that,â Sunghoon chastised, his heart still racing from the surprise.
âYou havenât had a good scare in a while, did you?â Jake chuckled, clearly amused by his reaction.
âWhatever. Do you happen to know where the first-aid kit is? I live here, yet I have no idea where things are kept.â Sunghoon said in annoyance, still looking in the cabinets.
âWhy do you need it? You donât seem to be injured.â
âI just want to have one in my room. Iâm tired of coming down here every time I need something.â
âAh, the life of a loner. Thatâs probably why Jay made you hunt for your own foodâto get you out of your room. And you never leave that area.â Jake teased.
âAnd you never stop talking. Blood is all over your mouth; donât embarrass yourself and wipe it.â Jake took Sunghoonâs remarks in stride. He wiped the blood from his mouth as instructed, unfazed by the insult. âThe first aid kit is in that cabinet over there, second row.â
âThanks. By the way, whereâs Jay?â Sunghoon asked.
âProbably in the dining room. Why do you ask?â Jake responded.
âI need some more food.â
âFeast wasnât enough today?â
âNot that. It was too good, and now I crave for more.â
âYou should have shared; it must have been good if you say so,â Jake remarked playfully.
"Whatever. See you later. And make sure you clean up your mess. We don't need any more corpses lying around randomly," Sunghoon cautioned.
"Aye, aye, captain," Jake retorted, giving a mock salute.
After leaving Jake behind, Sunghoon continued his search for Jay and found him in the dining room, indulging in another feast. The womanâs screeches were so loud that it was possible to hear them outside of the castle.
âOh god, not in open daylight.â Sunghoon pretended to cover his eyes, not wanting to see one of his brothers attack a person who's still alive. âWeâre vampires, thereâs no sunlightâ â
"Take a joke, will you? You're worse than Jake sometimes." Jay laughed, finding amusement in Sunghoon's reaction.
"Chill out, would you? No wonder the others tease you so much," Jay shot back, grabbing a cloth to wipe his mouth as he glanced at Sunghoon.
"Do you need anything?" Jay asked, curious to know what Sunghoon wanted.
"Yeah, do you have any blood packets?" Sunghoon inquired.
"Again? I told you to hunt for something fresh. Why settle for a packet?"
"You saw me carrying someone earlier. I guess that wasn't enough?"
"You need to hunt with me next time. You're not very good at it," Jay remarked.
"Says the person who needs at least five people to feel satisfied with their hunger," Sunghoon countered.
"Shut up. Anyway, you can take that one," Jay pointed to a person sitting in the room without moving. "He's under the influence of sleeping pills. He won't wake up for about eight hours."
"Well, it's certainly better than nothing," Sunghoon responded.
"Are you kidding? That one is blood type AB, the best kind you could get. You should be thankful," Jay emphasized.
Without further ado, Sunghoon sank his teeth into the guy's neck. The person's face grew pale, and their heart gradually slowed until it ceased to beat.
"You were right; that was the best kind," Sunghoon stated, satisfied with his meal. Though, it wasnât better than yours.
"And you sure were starving. You owe me," Jay reminded him.
"Whatever. I'll just ask one of the guys to hunt someone like that for you," Sunghoon teased.
"You better keep your promise," Jay warned.
"I can't make any promises," Sunghoon mocked Jay, leaving the dining room and making his way back to his room. Jay laughed once more, sinking his teeth into the woman again.
Perhaps he would find a way to make you pay for making him come down here to face two of his annoying siblings.
FOUR â sealing the deal
After what seemed like hours, Sunghoon didn't take that long to come back to his room. I guess he is pretty attached to his own room. Meanwhile, you remained seated, growing increasingly bored as time dragged on. As he closed the door behind him, Sunghoon spoke up, breaking the silence.
âIâm back. Have you noticed any improvement in the healing of your wounds?â he asked. You emitted a soft hum in response, acknowledging the progress. Brushing your fingers over the scabs, you could feel the rough texture of the forming scars.
âThough theyâre drying up, I still wouldnât mind some ointment. And, of course, bandages, of any kind, really,â you requested. Sunghoon surprised you by offering his assistance and asking for your consent. It was a rare display of kindness from him. "Sure," you mumbled, feeling a warm flush on your cheeks. Pushing aside the unfamiliar feeling, you tilted your head towards Sunghoon, allowing him to take care of your wounds.
Sunghoon approached you, and a slightly surprised expression appeared on his face because of your agreement. He brought a chair and placed it closer to you, taking a seat. He moved closer, carefully examining the wounds on your neck. After looking at them, he reached for the first-aid kit he had brought from the kitchen.
Opening the kit, he took out the tube of ointment and a pack of bandages. With gentle movements, he applied the ointment to your wounds, his touch surprisingly tender. You felt a soothing sensation as he spread the ointment over the scabs, alleviating some of the discomfort.
Once the ointment was applied, he proceeded to place a couple of bandages on your neck, securing them in place. He worked efficiently, his movements precise yet careful. The bandages provided a protective layer over the wounds, preventing you from picking at the scabs.
As Sunghoon finished tending to your injuries, he stepped back, looking at his work. âThere you go,â he said softly, a hint of satisfaction in his voice. âThat should help with the healing. If you want me to check up on it, just let me know.â
You thanked him, appreciating his unexpected act of kindness. Despite the circumstances, there was a fleeting moment of connection between you and Sunghoonâa brief glimpse of a different side to him.
As Sunghoon tidied up the first aid kit and stowed it away, an uneasy silence settled in the room. You anxiously twiddle your thumbs while waiting for him to address the matter he mentioned earlier.
"Oh, right!" Sunghoon exclaimed, as if suddenly remembering. He took a seat closer to you, causing a slight flutter of anticipation in your chest.
"You mentioned that you have nowhere to go, correct?" he confirmed, seeking clarification.
"Yes, that's right." You nodded, your voice tinged with curiosity. You couldn't help but wonder where this conversation was headed.
âHow about I let you stay here?â Sunghoon proposed, his voice filled with a surprising offer.
âHere...?â you repeated, a hint of disbelief in your tone. The room you were currently in didnât exactly scream comfort or safety.
âYes, here in my room,â Sunghoon confirmed, slightly perplexed by your reaction. He was about to remind you of your past statement about having nowhere to go.
âAnd how long are you suggesting I stay?â you asked, wanting to clarify the terms of the arrangement.
âAs long as you want,â he replied, not understanding why youâre hesitating to just agree.
âWellâŠI have to ask, whatâs the catch?â you questioned, sensing that such an offer wouldnât come without a price.
âYou catch on quickly,â Sunghoon remarked, acknowledging how clever you were. âIn exchange for your stay, I propose that you provide me with your blood. It seems like a fair deal, doesnât it?â
âWoah, hold on,â you protested, feeling a mix of shock and distress at Sunghoonâs proposal. âThereâs absolutely no way Iâm agreeing to this. I mean, we just met! Arenât you trusting me, a stranger, a little too much now?â
Sunghoon shrugged nonchalantly, seemingly unfazed by your reaction. âIt didnât strike me as that crazy of an idea, but I guess humans are more sensitive about these things,â he remarked, surprised at how fast your voice was raised at him. âI donât know why youâre so baffled now; you were the one who asked me to bite you.â
âOkay, that was clearly different! It was due to shock, alright?â you said, clearly not being able to rack up any responses to fire back.
âBut, whatever! Anyway, as we were saying, of course it sounds crazy to me! Youâre a vampire, not some ordinary person that I know. Itâs not like I can trust you completely,â you shot back, your frustration becoming more evident.
âLook, I donât even know your name.â You paused, realizing the absurdity of the situation. You two were getting into a heated conversation, trying to make deals, yet you both havenât introduced yourselves properly.
âOh, rightâthe name is Sunghoon, Park Sunghoon,â he interjected, his tone brimming with impatience. You swore if he wasnât a stupid vampire, you wouldâve knocked him out right there.
âAnd yours?â He interrupts your thoughts, his eyes gleaming with curiosity.
âItâs Y/N,â you replied, slightly taken aback by his abruptness.
âNice to properly have a greeting with you, Y/N,â Sunghoon says with a slight smile. âNow, let's go back to our previous discussion, shall we?â
âGlad you mentioned that. So, exactly how is this deal supposed to work? Where would I even stay, and how often would I have to give my blood to you? Lord, who knows, you might kill me on my second day staying here!â you exclaimed, wanting to understand how shameless Sunghoon can be with his crazy thoughts.
âI understand your concerns about the deal. Letâs address them one by one, alright?â You nodded, willing to hear him out despite your concerns.
âAs for where youâll stay, you obviously donât need to worry about that. I mean, how bad could it be?â he added with a smirk. âConsider it your sanctuary; donât worry about anything.â
âAnd regarding the blood part,â he continued, his tone serious. âI assure you, I have no intention of killing youâwell, Iâll try not to. We can establish some clear boundaries after you accept this deal. And weâll figure out something where you can provide blood for me in controlled amounts.â
You furrowed your brow, still skeptical. âBut why do you even need my blood? Canât you just feed on others?â
Sunghoon sighed, his expression softening slightly. âItâs not as simple as that. I wonât go into all the details now, but letâs just say that your blood has a unique quality that appeals to vampires, especially me. Itâs not something I can easily explain.â
You pondered his words for a moment, considering the possibilities. The idea of staying at this castle with a vampire, in fact many, was still unsettling, but you were running out of options.
âFine,â you finally gave in. âIâll give it a try. It's not like I can do anything anyway. But if anything feels off or if you break our agreement, Iâm out.â
Sunghoon nodded, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips. âFair enough, Y/N. Iâll do my best to upload our agreement and ensure your safety.â
"Wait, so youâre telling me you put on the bandages and ointment for nothing?â you asked, touching the side of your neck.
âOops,â he says, scratching the nape of his neck.
With that, a strange alliance between you and Sunghoon started to take shape, settling for a unique and uncertain journey ahead.
FIVE â the consequences
As the first night at Sunghoonâs place began, you couldnât help but wonder how you had gotten yourself into this situation. It was clear that he hadnât fully thought of a plan for your stay or how to ensure your safety amidst his unpredictable siblings.
Sunghoon, maintaining his composed demeanor, raced his mind as he contemplated the best course of action. Though Sunghoon lived in a spacious place with a huge room of his own, it became apparent that it was not designed to accommodate two people. After all, as a vampire, he would have never imagined sharing a room with a mere human, especially in a place he cherished deeply.
Sunghoon couldnât help but feel a sense of unease, but he quickly pushed those thoughts aside. He reminded himself of the circumstances that brought you here, his promise to keep you safe, and the fact that this arrangement was temporary. He had to do something to make you feel comfortable; he isnât that bad of a guy after all.
After a few moments of deep thought, he finally spoke up. âY/N, I apologize for the lack of preparation. You see, I wasnât expecting this at all.â
âTrust me, I wasnât expecting this either, until you decided to kidnap me,â you joked, recalling the past moments and trying to tease him with it.
âI guess youâre right.â He scratched the back of his head awkwardly, smiling to himself as he remembered the past. âBut here we are, working something out together.â
Sunghoon contemplated his thoughts, attempting to find a suitable solution. âWell, I guess you can just sleep on my bed.â
âWhat the hell are you saying? Me, sleeping on your bed?â
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow, surprised by your strong reaction. âWhatâs wrong with sleeping on my bed? Why do you seem so offended by the idea?â He blinks in confusion, not understanding the commotion with his idea. âYou should consider this a luxuryâeven my siblings do! They rarely lay here, and Iâm allowing you to.â
You crossed your arms, clearly uncomfortable with the suggestion. âItâs just...we barely know each other, and it feels too intimate to share a bed. Plus, itâs your personal space.â
Sunghoon tilted his head, feeling the need to tease you just a little bit. âIntimate? Itâs just a bed; we are just sleeping on it. I donât see it as a big deal. Besides, itâs a spacious bed, and I promise not to invade your personal space. What did you think was the intent behind my words?â
A mischievous smirk graced Sunghoonâs lips as he observed your cheeks turning a shade of red. Caught off guard by his response, you quickly cleared your throat, attempting to regain your composure. However, his gaze remained fixed on you, his smirk persisting, much to your annoyance.
You sighed, trying to find the right words. âLook, I appreciate your offer, but I think itâs best if we find another solution. I need my own space, and you should have yours too.â
âAlright, hereâs the plan. You take the bed, and Iâll take the sofa. How does that sound?â Sunghoon proposes, trying to find a compromise.
âThe sofa? Wouldnât that be uncomfortable to sleep on for the night?â You voiced your concern, staring at the white sofa near his bed. It looked rather small, especially for his height.
âIt can actually turn into a bed,â he reassured you.
âBut Iâll feel bad if you have to sleep on the couch. Are you sure? We can always switch.â You protested, not easily accepting his kind act.
âLook, itâs either we both sleep on the same bed or I sleep on the couch. Keep arguing, and youâll end up sleeping on the floor. Got it?â Sunghoonâs voice turned stern, attempting to make his point clear.
"...Understood," you reluctantly agreed, realizing his sudden change in mood.
You found yourself lying in Sunghoonâs bed, gazing up at the ceiling. The mattress was undeniably comfortable, but the unsettling atmosphere of the room made it difficult for you to drift off to sleep. Each time you closed your eyes, a chilly breeze seemed to brush against your body, further heightening your unease. This room was definitely not meant for humans to stay in.
Shifting slightly, you noticed Sunghoonâs silhouette remaining still in the darkness. His presence offered some sense of reassurance, but it wasnât enough to completely dispel the unsettling feeling that hung in the air.
âStop moving around so much; people might hear you,â Sunghoon whispered, his voice audible in the quiet room, causing you to freeze in your position. You didnât know he was awake.
You remained silent for a moment, not sure if you should tell him the reason why. However, Sunghoonâs persistence broke the silence; his words were laced with a subtle attempt to gain your trust.
âNo, Iâm fine,â you replied, turning away from him and facing the other side of the bed.
âSleep well, Y/N,â Sunghoon said, his voice echoing with the same enigmatic tone that had sent shivers down your spine when you first met.
In a way you couldn't quite understand, Sunghoon's presence was driving you to the edge of madness, albeit in a strangely captivating manner.
âSo youâre suggesting I stay here for my entire stay?â you asked, still unsure of what had been planned by him.
âWhat? Would you rather be thrown into a bloodbath with six other vampires?â Sunghoon questioned you and was quite offended by your response.
âI think Iâll pass on that,â you replied, not eager to experience such a gruesome scenario. The thought of facing six vampires who were similar to Sunghoon, or even worse, sent a shiver down your spine. If they had possessed even a fraction of his intensity or darkness, you knew you would deeply regret your decision to stay. In fact, the idea seemed so terrifying that you would rather take matters into your own hands and end your own life than allow them to have a single drop of blood, Sunghoon included.
Ignoring the potential dangers ahead, you found yourself in his lavish library, with shelves overflowing with books. It was a comfortable and well-maintained space, with not a single speck of dust in sight. Picking up a nearby book, you asked, âYouâre quite the reader, huh?â
You read the title, âHow to Kill People : Guide for Vampires,â and quickly returned it to its original position. Sunghoon chuckled at your reaction, reminding you, âYouâd probably see worse than that.â
His comment left you both intrigued and slightly unnerved, wondering what exactly he meant by it.
âBefore I leave, letâs go over some rules I want to establish, shall we?â Sunghoon asks, only to get a nod from you. You hoped these rules werenât going to be as bizarre as it was for you to be sleeping on Sunghoonâs bed for the whole stay.
Sunghoon dragged a nearby chair and settled himself into it. Resting his arms on the sides of the chair, he cleared his throat, preparing to lay down some ground rules.
"Rule Number One," he began sternly, pointing at you to emphasize his point, "you cannot leave this area until I say it's okay. As I mentioned earlier, I live with six other people who are extremely nosy. Any noise or disturbance will attract their attention, and they'll come running like meerkats trying to figure out what's going on."
You fought back a chuckle, imagining the scene he described, but you held it in, not wanting to upset Sunghoon by not paying attention.
"Rule Number Two," Sunghoon continued, his voice carrying a sense of seriousness, "is to never, and I mean never, expose yourself to them. They can get you killed in an instant, no joke. The last thing we need is another dead body lying around here, especially in my room."
You gulped, feeling a wave of unease wash over you. You nodded along to his words, but your mind began to wander, causing his instructions to fade into background noise. Your nods became automatic, hoping that he would finish speaking soon.
Sunghoon noticed your lack of focus, though he chose not to mention it. He debated whether to stop talking and address the issue or to continue and hope you would snap back to attention. Reluctantly, he decided to keep going, aware of the possibility that you were nodding along to nothing.
"...You got it?" he asked, his voice snapping you back to reality. You nodded and agreed, though you had no recollection of what he had just said. "Really? What did I say?"
You hesitated, realizing that you had completely missed his instructions. Sheepishly, you asked him to repeat it once more, hoping to catch up.
âWe are going to be here for a long time, arenât we?â Sunghoon let out a sigh, clearly disappointed.
He started from the beginning again, and this time, you made a conscious effort to pay attention.
At least thatâs what he hoped you would do.
SIX â under his care
"You know, you're going to have to take care of me, right, Sunghoon?" You asked nervously, feeling the weight of your dependency on him.
"What do you mean? You should be able to take care of yourself," Sunghoon replied, seemingly indifferent to your needs.
âI need some food to survive being confined here; Iâm not like you,â you pleaded, hoping he would understand.
"Oh. Take a blood packet," he suggested, opening a drawer to reveal a neatly arranged row of plastic packets. He quickly handed one to you, but you couldn't help but feel repulsed by the sight of the bright red liquid.
"I'm not a vampire, Sunghoon. I'm human. I need real food and water, not your blood packets," you protested, suppressing a gag.
"Oh, right," Sunghoon muttered awkwardly, realizing his oversight. He awkwardly moved closer, retrieving the blood packet from your lap and returning it to the drawer. He seemed to be slowly grasping the responsibility of caring for a human, but you couldn't shake the feeling that he resented it. The thought crossed your mind that he might even be contemplating killing you on the spot, and it sent a shiver down your spine.
âSoâŠIâm supposed to hunt for you?â Sunghoon asked, sounding completely clueless about the needs of a human. âWhat kind of food do you guys enjoy?â
"I'm not really picky," you replied, trying to think of all the things you could eat.
"You're okay with raw animals?" he asked, clearly unaware of human dietary preferences.
"Are you trying to kill me?" you retorted, slightly alarmed by his suggestion.
"I'm sorry, I'm not really familiar with this," Sunghoon admitted, realizing his lack of knowledge.
"We eat warm, cooked foods. Sometimes when itâs cold, although it's not always enjoyable. You might need to cook something," you explained, hoping he would understand.
"Cook? The only thing I know is how to boil organs," Sunghoon confessed, his words never failing to make your jaw drop. Heâs so unpredictable, you hate it.
"Enough of that," you said firmly, shaking your head to dispel the uncomfortable thoughts. "At least you can do something."
"You have to eat something cooked?" Sunghoon scrunched up his face, contemplating what the future held for him.
"Yes, that's what a normal human being needs," you replied.
"I'll figure something out. You're not picky, right?" Sunghoon asked, trying to reassure himself.
"Don't think I am," you responded, amused by his concern.
"I'll be back," he said, determination filling his voice.
"Don't take too long; I'm starving," you teased, sinking into Sunghoon's comfortable couch in the library and surrounding yourself with piles of books. You just hope he will do something right for once.
Leaving his room behind, Sunghoon let out a deep sigh of exasperation. Cooking a full meal that didn't involve blood was a daunting task for a vampire like him. The last thing he needed was to be caught in the act and subjected to endless questions from his nosy siblings. He moved swiftly and silently through the house, his senses heightened, ensuring that his movements remained undetected.
When Sunghoon opened the fridge, he wasn't surprised to find a limited selection of ingredients. After all, it was a typical vampire household with a preference for non-food items. Who would expect to see a fridge stacked with fresh produce? Luckily, among the assortment of mysterious meats, Sunghoon managed to unearth some ingredients courtesy of Heeseung's recent cooking practices. Heeseung seemed to have taken an interest in culinary pursuits, although the reason remained unknown.
"I'll keep it simple," Sunghoon muttered to himself, reaching for a container of eggs. Setting the eggs aside, he looks through the unorganized cupboards, looking at the scattered pots and pans. He cracked a few eggs into a bowl, whisking them with a fork. As he moved around the kitchen, the sound of clattering pans and plates filled the air, punctuated by brief pauses as he adjusted his movements to avoid making too much noise.
âWhat are you doing?â Heesengâs voice rang out, laced with confusion, as he came to a sudden stop upon seeing one of his brothers actually cooking.
Sunghoon turned to face Heeseung, holding a pan in one hand and eggs in a bowl in the other. He couldn't help but feel a bit sheepish, caught in the act of preparing a meal.
â...Practicing?â Sunghoon shrugged, feeling a bit embarrassed about him catching him out here.
"You're making eggs? Want me to help? I can cook some meat or something." Heeseung offered, rolling up his sleeves. "Gotta get some protein for a guy like you." He flashed a smile and opened the fridge.
Sunghoon couldn't help but let out a quiet sigh, setting down the pan and bowl. Heeseung's easy-going nature reminded him why he was his favorite brother. Heeseung never questioned him unnecessarily and was always there to lend a hand when needed.
In no time, Heeseung finished cooking and guided Sunghoon through the steps. As he cleaned the countertop, he asked, "So, what made you want to try your hand at cooking?"
Sunghoon quickly tried to come up with an excuse, standing awkwardly with the dish in his hands. "Uhh...I've seen you cook multiple times and was curious. I thought I'd give it a try and see if I could make some real food. If it turns out good, maybe I'll start cooking more often."
"Ah, I see. Well, if you ever need any help or have any questions about cooking, my room is right next door," Heeseung offered.
"Thanks, I'll keep that in mind...if you're home," Sunghoon replied, a hint of uncertainty in his voice.
As Sunghoon entered the library, he saw you lying on the couch, engrossed in a book, with a stack of books beside you. The sight of you brought a flutter to his heart, a feeling he couldn't quite explain. He greeted you and placed the dish on the table, letting out a sigh of relief.
"You have no idea what I just went through," he exclaimed, flopping face down onto the couch in front of you. You chuckled, and once again, he felt that ticklish sensation in his stomach. These random feelings were starting to puzzle him, but he pushed them aside and focused on your words.
"It's a shame you have to keep going through this," you remarked, surprised at how delicious the simple dish tasted.
Sunghoon sighed, realizing he would have to cook three meals like this every day and rely on Heeseung's help. However, he found himself not objecting to the idea. In fact, he rather liked it, though he couldn't quite figure out why.
SEVEN â unexpected encounter
As the days turned into weeks, the routine of sleeping in Sunghoonâs bed and spending time in the library continued. Sunghoon remained consistent in his actions, always bringing you food despite the strange glances he received from his siblings.
Engrossed in one of the books from Sunghoonâs collection, you heard the door creak open. Assuming it was Sunghoon returning, you began to express your relief, only to pause when you looked up and realized it wasnât him standing near the door. Instead, it was a different guyâblond hair with bangs gracefully covering his forehead. He exuded an attractive presence with his tall physique and sharp features. Both you and the unknown guy shared a moment of shock, caught off guard by the unexpected encounter.
âI knew Sunghoon was hiding something!â he whispered to himself, unaware you could hear his words. He seemed rather happy that his prediction was correct rather than shocked by a random stranger at his house. âNo wonder why that sweet scent lingers around his door,â he continues, pretending to act all smart.
âUm, who are you?â you questioned, trying to make sense of the situation.
âOh right! The name is Jake. And yours?â he introduced himself and asked, offering a friendly smile. He seems way nicer than Sunghoon, as you thought.
âY/N,â you said, offering the same smile back. He chuckles. âNice to meet you, Y/N!â
âDang, so Sunghoon was brave enough to keep a human hostage?â Jake remarked, clearly surprised that you even managed to live. The Sunghoon he knew would have sucked out all of your blood already. Were you that special to him?
âWhere is he?â you inquired, wanting to know Sunghoonâs whereabouts. You couldnât believe youâd be caring about someone you hated the first day you met him.
âHunting, perhaps? Why, looking for some company?â Jake teased with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
âI donât mind...â you responded, contemplating the idea of having some company while you waited for Sunghoonâs return.
âDonât mind if I do!â Jake exclaimed enthusiastically, grabbing a book he had been eyeing from the shelf. He hurriedly made his way over to you, claiming the empty spot on the cough. His vibrant energy was surprisingly comforting, quickly making you forget that he was just a stranger a few moments ago.
âWhat brings you here?â you asked curiously, genuinely interested in his presence.
âI always sneak into Sunghoonâs library, even though he never explicitly allows it. Sometimes heâs fine with it, sometimes heâs not,â Jake explained with a slight pout, recalling past experiences. âEspecially this week! He specifically told everyone to stay out of his room and the library because of some deep cleaning. Itâs complete nonsense! He always shows up to my room uninvited and complains whenever I do the same.â He scoffs, closing the book for a quick moment.
You chuckled at his storytelling, finding yourself drawn into his narration. It was as if you were being hypnotized by his words. Jake glanced at you, noticing the way your eyes crinkled with amusement. His smile widened, and he felt surprisingly comfortable sharing snippets of his life with you.
You found yourself engrossed in constant conversation with Jake, losing track of time as it slipped through your fingers. He made your entire day in the library more bearable, and you enjoyed his company immensely.
"Sunghoon should be returning soon," Jake mentioned, unaware of how much time had passed. "I should probably leave now."
"Oh, but will you come back tomorrow?" You asked eagerly, hoping he would say yes.
"I'll try my best. Just promise me that you won't tell Sunghoon that I've been sneaking in here, okay?" Jake requested, his eyes searching yours for assurance.
"I promise," you replied sincerely.
"Pinky promise?" he suggested playfully.
"Absolutely, I can even come up with something to prove that my lips are sealed. Maybe I can offer you my blood? You know, to seal our deal." you added, having no harm behind your words.
"You're quite bold, aren't you?" he remarked, slightly taken aback by your audacity.
"Do you want to?" you asked, your voice teasing.
"Where would you like me to bite you?" he quipped back, playing along with your banter.
And with that, Jake left with a broad grin, bidding you farewell with a wave. You waved back, and as your sleeve rolled down, it revealed the two distinctive fang marks near your wrist, a reminder of the unusual encounters you've had lately.
You hoped Sunghoon wouldnât bother to check your arms.
EIGHT â unwanted guests
As days turned into weeks, Sunghoon diligently continued making your meals, ensuring you had warm and cooked food to sustain yourself. He became more skilled in the kitchen with each passing day, and you couldn't help but appreciate his efforts. Despite the initial awkwardness, a sense of familiarity grew between you, and you found solace in his presence.
Meanwhile, you continued to meet Jake in the library, enjoying each other's company and engaging in conversations that ranged from lighthearted to deep. He became a source of comfort and distraction from the confinement of the vampire household. The stolen moments with Jake brought a sense of excitement and adventure to your otherwise mundane routine.
If you were going to be honest, it wouldâve been difficult to choose who was better between the two. While you appreciated Sunghoon's care and the bond that was slowly forming between you, there was an unspoken understanding that your connection with Jake was something entirely different.
Despite the initial success of the plan, Sunghoon's peculiar behavior didn't go unnoticed by his siblings. They started to find it strange that he never left his room and continued to cook meals despite being a vampire who normally consumed blood.
As Sunghoon returned to his room, Sunoo made sure to close the door behind him, maintaining the air of secrecy. When he joined his brothers downstairs, their confusion and concern were evident.
"What's going on with Sunghoon?" Jungwon asked, his expression reflecting his bewilderment after returning from a short trip.
"I've been noticing it too. He's been like this for the past week," Niki chimed in, shaking his head in disbelief. "This is not his usual behavior."
"He's been acting strange, not just with the cooking but also isolating himself in his room," Jay chimed in, furrowing his brows. "I tried talking to him, but he just brushes me off."
"He even told me not to enter his room and to stay away from his library," Heeseung added, his voice filled with genuine confusion. "It's like he's hiding something."
Sunoo, who had just returned from escorting Sunghoon back to his room, couldn't shake off his own concerns. "I've been trying to protect him, keeping everyone away from his room," he admitted. "But I don't know what's going on either. Something feels off."
The brothers exchanged worried glances, realizing that Sunghoon's behavior was a cause for concern. They knew they needed to get to the bottom of it, not only for their own peace of mind but also for Sunghoon's well-being. They decided to confront him together, determined to uncover the truth behind his recent actions and offer him support if needed.
Little did they know that their investigation would reveal the hidden secret you and Jake shared, adding an unexpected twist to the situation and potentially reshaping their perception of Sunghoon forever.
Sunghoon overheard his brothers' worried conversation, their voices growing louder and catching his attention. Concern filled his mind as he realized they might discover his secret. In a state of panic, he darted around, desperately searching for a solution.
Finding you in the library, he hurriedly approached you, his face filled with urgency.
"You need to hide right now," Sunghoon urged, his voice hushed but filled with intensity.
Startled by his sudden request, you quickly set aside the book you were reading and stood up, ready to follow his lead.
"My brothers are onto me. They suspect something's not right," Sunghoon explained, glancing around nervously. He keeps staring at his door, trying to listen for any sudden noises. "I'm afraid they might come barging into my room. We can't let them find you."
You could see the worry in his eyes, and you understood the weight of the situation. Without hesitation, you followed Sunghoon's lead and looked around for a hiding spot.
"Where should I hide?" you asked, trying to remain calm.
Sunghoon scanned the room, his gaze landing on a large antique wardrobe tucked away in a corner.
"Quick, get inside there," he said, opening the wardrobe door and motioning for you to step inside. It was large enough to fit you and pretty hidden away from any of his siblings.
You hurriedly made your way into the wardrobe, squeezing yourself in and pulling the doors shut. It was a tight space, but you hoped it would provide enough cover.
As the brothers deliberated downstairs, their uncertainty apparent, Sunoo voiced his reservations about invading Sunghoon's privacy. Nervously fidgeting with his fingers, he expressed his concerns.
"I don't know about this. I just don't want to intrude on his personal space," Sunoo admitted, his voice filled with unease. "You know, maybe he's still trying to deal with the past.â He bit his lip, avoiding delving into the details of his troubling history.
Heeseung sighed, acknowledging the validity of Sunoo's thoughts. He too was unsure of what to do, caught between his curiosity and his desire to respect Sunghoon's boundaries. The situation left them all in a state of indecision, unsure of how to proceed.
"I'm still worried about his well-being," Jay voiced, with Jake nervously nodding in agreement. Jake's heart raced not only out of concern for Sunghoon but also out of fear of you and him getting caught in the midst of their investigation.
"Okay, let's go." Jungwon decisively took the lead, leading the way up the stairs. The rest of the brothers followed suit, their curiosity piqued as they contemplated what Sunghoon could potentially be hiding.
As they reached the top of the stairs, the brothers could sense the tension in the air. They approached Sunghoon's closed door, hesitating for a moment before Jungwon took a deep breath and knocked.
"Sunghoon, are you in there?" Jungwon called out, his voice filled with concern.
There was a brief moment of silence, and then Sunghoon's voice came from the other side, slightly shaky but composed. "Yes, I'm here. Give me a moment."
The brothers exchanged glances, their anticipation building. They knew something was off, and their worry for Sunghoon only grew stronger. As they waited for him to open the door, they couldn't help but wonder what they were about to uncover.
Sunghoon swung the door open, his mouth full of food, as he greeted his six brothers. "Whoa, what's the occasion for this surprise gathering?" he asked nonchalantly, trying to mask his unease.
The rest of the brothers exchanged puzzled glances, failing to detect any apparent change in Sunghoon's behavior. "Do you need something from me before I continue finishing my meal?" Sunghoon inquired, hoping they would take the hint and leave him be.
Niki stepped forward, his curiosity getting the better of him. "Do you mind if we come in?" he asked, voicing the question that had been on everyone's mind.
Sunghoon shrugged, reluctantly allowing them entry. "Sure, but just for a little while. I'd like to eat my meal in peace."
Sunghoon reluctantly stepped aside, allowing his brothers to enter his room. As they filed in, their eyes scanned the surroundings, trying to piece together the puzzle of Sunghoon's recent behavior. The room appeared relatively normal, with the plate of food he cooked on his table and an organized bed.
"What's been going on, Sunghoon?" Heeseung finally spoke up, his voice laced with concern.
âWhat do you mean? Iâve only tried new things; itâs been interesting, Iâll tell you that.â Sunghoon shrugged, pushing away Heeseungâs question.
"Would it be alright if we entered the library?" Jay proposed, and the six brothers turned their gaze towards Sunghoon.
Sunghoon forced a smile, concealing his anxiety behind a facade. "Of course, go ahead," he replied, his words betraying his true feelings. Deep down, he was terrified of being discovered, even though he had already hidden you away.
Jay reached for the doorknob, his hand trembling slightly as he cautiously opened the door. The brothers held their breath, unsure of what awaited them inside. Their curiosity had overridden any doubts or concerns.
As the door swung open, the brothers stepped into the library, their eyes scanning the room for any signs of unusual activity. Sunghoon tried his best to act nonchalant, with his heart pounding in his chest. He hoped that you had a good hiding spot and that his siblings wouldn't stumble upon any evidence of your presence.
The library appeared just as it always did: shelves filled with books, a cozy atmosphere enveloping the space. The brothers exchanged glances, perplexed by the situation. Everything seemed normal, except for Sunghoon's apprehensive demeanor.
"Smells...rather sweet," Jungwon says, surprised at how quickly he picked up on it. The others nodded in agreement, detecting the faint yet enticing scent in the air.
âCould it be from the cups?â Sunghoon points at them, thankfully coming up with a quick excuse.
Jungwon's face lit up with understanding, and he couldn't help but let out a small sigh of relief, followed by a chuckle. âAh, you've got yourself some good blood there.â
The others continued to look around, not seeming to find anything suspicious.
"Are you sure there's nothing unusual going on here, Sunghoon?" Jake asked, a hint of suspicion in his voice. He had to look convincing to his brothers, at least.
Sunghoon shrugged, feigning innocence. "I'm just enjoying some alone time with my books," he replied, hoping his casual tone would deflect their attention.
The brothers continued to search the library, their footsteps echoing softly on the wooden floor. Sunghoon's anxiety grew with each passing moment, praying that his secret would remain hidden.
âWell, thereâs nothing,â Jungwon says, finishing his search.
âSunghoon, just know we care about you, and you can tell us anything, okay?â Heeseung says, making Sunghoon nod to his words.
âWe will be leaving now; donât spend too much time in your room,â Niki says, walking closer to the libraryâs exit. Finally, satisfied that nothing seemed out of the ordinary, all of the remaining brothers made their way back towards the library entrance. Sunghoon released a silent sigh of relief, grateful that they hadn't discovered your presence.
Sunghoon had nothing else to say but nod his head, wishing his brothers a short goodbye. As the door closed behind them, Sunghoon leaned against it, his body trembling with a mix of fear and relief. He knew he had narrowly escaped being caught, but he also realized that he would have to be even more careful moving forward.
Turning his attention to you, he approached your hiding spot with a mixture of concern and gratitude. "You can come out now," he whispered, a grateful smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "We managed to keep them away, at least for now."
How long will this thing last before the secret is out?
NINE â unbreakable cycle
Sunghoon's recent behavior has left you puzzled. Lately, he has been requesting your blood more frequently, surpassing his usual once or twice a week routine. Not only that, you started feeling a bit tired too, having both Sunghoon and Jake take your blood whenever they wanted.
"Y/N, I need more," Sunghoon said, entering the library with a breathlessness that hinted at an intense workout session. His exhaustion was evident, as if he had been pushing himself too hard in his training.
Concerned by Sunghoon's increased requests for your blood and his apparent exhaustion, you couldn't help but worry about his well-being. You set aside the book you were reading and approached him with a furrowed brow.
"Sunghoon, are you okay? You seem really tired," you remarked, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Is something bothering you?"
Sunghoon sighed heavily, leaning against the library wall for support. His gaze met yours, reflecting a mix of weariness and determination.
"I've been pushing myself harder lately," he admitted, his voice tinged with fatigue. "I've been training more intensely, trying to improve my abilities. But it's taking a toll on me. Iâll be fine with a little bit of blood, though."
"Sunghoon, maybe you should take a break," you suggested gently. "Rest and recuperate. Pushing yourself too hard might do more harm than good."
"Thank you, Y/N." He let out a small, quiet chuckle, feeling a bit strange for you to be caring for him right now. "I'm assuming you're tired too? You look like it; it seems like you've been draining all your energy for more than one person."
"How did you know?" you asked, taken aback by his observation.
"What? I was just teasing," Sunghoon replied, his chuckle fading as he sensed your surprise.
Shit. You inwardly cursed your slip-up, realizing you had revealed more than intended.
"Who have you been seeing?" Sunghoon's tone turned stern, his eyes searching yours for answers.
You awkwardly laughed, trying to brush off his suspicions. "I was just joking, Sunghoon. There's no one else."
But Sunghoon wasn't convinced. He could sense the subtle changes in your heartbeat and the uneasiness in your eyes. The trust between you seemed to falter, and he couldn't ignore the nagging feeling that something was amiss.
"Your heart is beating faster," he pointed out, his voice tinged with a hint of betrayal. "Who have you been seeing behind my back? Why can't you be honest with me?"
"Why does it have to concern you?" you replied defensively, feeling a surge of frustration. The tension in the room escalated as both of you struggled to communicate your true feelings.
"It's my room," Sunghoon retorted, his voice growing louder with anger. "You've been hiding something from me, and now you're avoiding giving me your blood. Is this all because of one of my brothers?"
The words hung in the air, a bitter realization dawning on both of you. Sunghoon's protective instincts clashed with the sense of betrayal he felt, while you grappled with the weight of your secrets.
Sunghoon's grip tightened on your wrist, causing a sharp sting and making you instinctively try to pull away. As you did, the pressure on the bite mark caused a slight seepage of blood, staining your sleeve. He stared at the blood with a mix of shock and confusion.
"Didâdid one of my brothers do that?" Sunghoon asked, his voice filled with disbelief as he looked back at you. A whirlwind of emotions swept across his face.
"It's nothing. Just mind your own business," you scowled, your frustration evident as you continued to struggle against his grip, wanting to break free.
Sunghoon's eyes narrowed, his anger rising. "How can you expect me to ignore this?â Sunghoon clenched his fists, his anger boiling over. He clearly allowed it to take the best of him, not knowing there could be other ways to talk about this. "I can't believe you would lie to me like this! How could you hide something so important?"
You stood your ground, your own anger rising to match his. Why would you want to allow him to be the only one who could yell? âYou donât have to know everything. You probably see me as a burden anyway.â
"Burden? You think I see you as a burden?" Sunghoon's voice was filled with frustration. "I've done everything I can to protect you and keep you safe. And this is how you repay me?"
"I didn't ask for your protection! Look, Iâm glad for your help, but whatâs with the big fuss?" You shot back, your voice trembling with anger and hurt. "You think you're the only one who has sacrifices to make?"
Sunghoon's face was twisted with anger and hurt. âSince you think my brothers are so great, why donât you just leave right now? Let them have you! Then you would know what it feels like to be abandoned!"
"You don't owe me, Sunghoon. God, just because you're some vampire, do you think you're superior? I wonder how your family even manages to deal with you," You say, returning the same harsh tone he gave you.
The words stung, hitting him like a punch to the gut. You hadn't meant to belittle him, but in the heat of the argument, it felt like the only way to defend yourself.
Sunghoon's expression hardened, his anger giving way to a deep sadness. Your words only brought back his past, making him wince. He turned away from you, his voice filled with a mix of frustration and hurt. "Is that really what you think of me? Just some stuck-up vampire who thinks he's superior?"
Tears welled up in his eyes, and his voice choked with emotion. "I've done everything to make you feel welcomed and loved; well, I tried, and this is how you see me? I never wanted you to feel like that."
The realization hit you like a wave, crashing down your walls of anger. You hadn't meant to reduce him to a stereotype and make him feel unappreciated for all he had done for you.
"Iâ I didn't mean it like that," you mumbled, your voice filled with regret. "I was just angry and hurt. I didn't think about how my words would affect you."
Sunghoon shook his head, his shoulders slumping with the weight of his emotions. "It's too late now. I can't forget what you said or how you made me feel."
As he walked away, shutting the door with a resounding thud, the silence in the room was suffocating, the realization of the damage you had caused sinking in.
What the hell was that about, and why do you feel guilty?
Great, there's more stuff that you need to take care of.
Guilt was starting to eat you alive, and you had to do something about it quickly.
And how will you do that? Itâs simpleâasking his sibling for help.
Jake.
TEN â the plan
To your luck, Jake managed to sneak into the library, closing the door quietly behind him. His eyes widened as he looked at you, sensing the tension in the air. He walked closer, whispering to you.
"What's going on with Sunghoon?"
You sighed, the weight of the argument still lingering in your mind. "We had a big fight. Things got really heated between us."
Jake furrowed his brows, concern etched on his face. "What happened?â
"We had an argument about you," you said, wincing as the incident kept replaying in your head. You didnât want to tell him everything; guilt was just starting to take over you again.
"Me? What about me?" Jake asked, his expression turning serious as he took a seat next to you.
"He found out," you replied, pulling down your sleeves to reveal the fang marks on your arm. "He found our secret meetings."
Jake's eyes widened in realization, and his voice filled with concern. "He knows about us? So was that why he glared at me all day?â Jake says, finally piecing the puzzle together.
âHow did he react?"
"He was furious," you confessed, your voice filled with regret. "He accused me of betraying his trust and hiding things from him."
Jake sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I never wanted things to get so complicated. I'm sorry, Y/N."
"It's not your fault," you reassured him, placing a comforting hand on his. "We both made mistakes. I should have been more honest with him from the beginning."
Jake nodded, his gaze filled with a mix of guilt and determination. "We need to find a way to fix this, to make things right with Sunghoon.
"But how? He probably hates me now," you said, frustration evident in your voice as you rubbed your head with your hand.
"He doesn't hate you. He probably never will. You just have to be the first one to reach out and talk to him," Jake reassured you, his hand comforting you as he rubbed your back. "Trust me, he's seemed really happy ever since you got here."
"Really?" you asked, a glimmer of hope in your eyes.
"Really," Jake confirmed with a nod.
"Okay, so how am I going to apologize?" You asked, eager to find a way to make things right.
"I have a plan," Jake said, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.
Curiosity sparked within you as you leaned in, urging him to share his idea.
Jake leaned in closer, his voice lowering to a whisper as he shared his plan with you. His eyes gleamed with a mix of excitement and mischief, making you curious about the details of his scheme.
"Here's what we're going to do," Jake began, his voice filled with confidence. "We'll organize a surprise gathering for Sunghoon, something that will catch him off guard when he sees you walk to him instead. Iâll tell him how I need to talk to him.â
You listened intently, nodding as Jake outlined the steps of the plan. It involved a lot of convincing. Sunghoon knew one of his brothers knew you; he just didnât know which one. Despite his possible anger toward one of them, heâs going to have to speak to them, not wanting to expose the secret of you being here.
"And when the time is right, you can seize the moment and apologize to him sincerely, letting him know how much he means to you." Jake explained.
A mix of anticipation and nervousness filled your chest, but you felt a glimmer of hope. It seemed like a thoughtful and heartfelt gesture that could mend the rift between you and Sunghoon.
"Are you in?" Jake asked with a hint of excitement in his eyes.
With a shared sense of determination, you and Jake began to put the plan into action, eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to make amends and rebuild the trust that had been fractured.
You had to make things right again.
ELEVEN â making up
âAre you ready to talk to him?â Jake asked, sensing your nervous behavior.
"I believe so," you replied with a sigh. "I've allowed him enough time to process."
"Okay, I'll inform him before he comes upstairs," Jake said. You nodded nervously, fidgeting in your seat as you awaited the opportune moment to reveal yourself.
Before you knew it, you heard footsteps ascending the stairs, approaching Sunghoon's room. Holding your breath, you waited for the perfect moment to exit the room.
You opened the door, revealing a fatigued Sunghoon perched on his bed, awaiting Jake's arrival.
"Sunghoon?" You called out his name, causing his eyes to widen. He averted your gaze, not quite ready to meet your eyes. A part of him yearned for a conversation with you, while another part hesitated, unsure of the outcome.
Taking control of the situation, Sunghoon cleared his throat and spoke, his tone detached: "YN, you should return. Jake could return at any moment."
You were hesitant about carrying out the plan; it would reveal who youâve been seeing for the past few weeks.
But you gathered your courage and walked further toward him, taking a seat beside him on his bed.
Sunghoon's gaze shifted from the floor to you, his eyes searching for answers. You took a deep breath, steeling yourself for the conversation that was about to unfold.
"I'm sorry, Sunghoon," you spoke up, your voice filled with sincerity. "I should have been honest with you from the beginning. I never wanted to hide anything from you, but I was scared. Scared of causing any conflicts between you and your family. I thought hiding it was the best thing I could do.â
âI shouldnât have yelled at you like that or said anything harsh to you. You didnât deserve it,â you continued, looking back to meet his eyes. âIâm sorry.â
Sunghoon's features softened, and he moved closer, his eyes locking with yours. "Y/N, I didn't handle the situation well either," he admitted, his voice filled with remorse. "I let my anger get the best of me, and I'm sorry for hurting you."
"I just... didn't want to talk to you after you made me think about my past,â Sunghoon sighed, feeling the weight of his experiences. He found himself unexpectedly opening up to you, trusting you with a part of his life he had never shared with anyone before.
Closing his eyes, he allowed the memories to resurface, replaying the painful moments from his past.
"I'm exhausted from constantly taking care of you. Why can't you be normal and not some damned vampire?" Sunghoon's father's voice reverberated in his mind, filled with anger and frustration.
"I'm sorry, Father. I just haven't had anything to fill me up. Not even regular food. I feel myself growing weaker day by day," Sunghoon confessed, his voice tinged with sadness as he recalled the desperate need for blood.
"You're fortunate that your mother and I provide for you. Who else would? But god, I canât handle having such a freak in the house,â his father continued, reaching for his phone and dialing his mother's number. "I have to do something about you."
"What do you mean?" Sunghoon's fear intensified, unsure of what his father intended. "Father? Father!" he pleaded, trying to push him away, but his father remained fixated on the call to his mother. Sunghoon sat there in resignation, realizing that his true family was willing to abandon him or, worse, even consider harming him.
After hours of intense discussion between his parents, Sunghoon's heart sank as his mother called him over. He hoped against hope that he would be able to stay, praying for a positive outcome. Taking a seat in front of his parents, he braced himself for the verdict, hoping it would be in his favor.
"Sunghoon... I'm sorry, but you can't stay here anymore." His mother's voice trembled with sadness, and her eyes filled with tears. "It's just not possible. Itâs not safe.â
âYou canât just throw me out like that!â Sunghoon's voice wavered with a mix of sadness and frustration, unable to comprehend how his own parents could abandon him. "I'm your child!"
"You're not our childâwell, my child. You're just some wretched vampire who has no place in this household. Who knows what harm you could bring to your other siblings?" His father's words were laced with bitterness, his tone devoid of any remorse as he witnessed his son's disbelief and hurt.
He sat there, his mind filled with shock and a deep sense of loss, as he watched his mother pack up his belongings. After leaving his family home, Sunghoon's life took a drastic turn. He found himself in a state of constant turmoil, resorting to feeding off random animals he came across in a forest. If it hadn't been for Heeseung's intervention, he might still be wandering the streets, struggling to survive.
"But unlike my past parents, my siblings here embraced me wholeheartedly. They provided me with a sense of safety and acceptance that I had never experienced before," Sunghoon explained, his voice tinged with vulnerability and the hope that you would understand his deep-seated trauma.
"Oh my god, Sunghoon, I'm so sorry," you exclaimed, overcome with regret as the weight of your words and their impact on him sank in. "I had no idea about your past and what you went through."
Sunghoon's smile softened, touched by your genuine remorse. "It's alright. I never expected you to know or bring it up. We can leave it in the past now," he said, a sense of relief evident in his voice.
He reached out for your hand, his hands trembling slightly. âI forgive you. Do you forgive me?â You smiled, reaching out and taking his hands into yours. âI do.â
The weight of the tension that had been lingering between you lifted, replaced by a sense of relief and renewed hope. You and Sunghoon slowly embraced, holding each other tightly, letting the healing process begin.
Jake smiled, quietly slipping out of the room, leaving the two of you to mend the bonds that had been strained. As you and Sunghoon held each other, you knew that despite the challenges you had faced, your love for each other was stronger than ever, ready to face whatever lay ahead.
Next time, there will be no more misunderstandings.
You were going to make sure of that.
TWELVE â secret revealed
"You know, your brothers are eventually going to figure out that you keep me here, right?" you remarked, laying on Sunghoon's lap. Despite the mixed signals between you, there was a sense of comfort in your connection, and you both secretly wished for more.
Sunghoon chuckled, his fingers tracing gentle patterns through your hair as he continued reading his book. "You think so?â
âIt has been quite a while. You think they would be okay with the sudden news?" You asked.
"They better," he replied with a playful smirk.
"I hope they'll be comfortable with it." you said, still filled with worries.
"They should be. One of my brothers already knows you, so that's one less person to convince," Sunghoon said, his tone lightening the mood.
"Ah, Jake," you nodded, feeling a sense of relief. "And just to clarify, we are not offering blood to my brothers to win them over. Just putting it out there," he added, making you roll your eyes playfully.
âBlood is only yours.â
âThatâs quite flattering coming from a human like you.â
"Oh, stop itâtell your brothers about us whenever you feel like itâs time.â
âLike right now?â
âWell, do you want to?â
âIâll ask them to come upstairs.â
"Sure, go ahead," you replied, lifting your head from Sunghoon's lap and adjusting your position. You watched as he stood up and made his way towards the door, calling out to his brothers to join him upstairs.
As you waited for them to arrive, a mix of anticipation and nervousness filled the room. You couldn't help but wonder how they would react to your relationship with Sunghoon. Would they be accepting? Would they hate your guts? Only time will tell.
Soon, you heard footsteps approaching the room, and one by one, Sunghoon's brothers entered. They glanced at you in shock, stopping in their tracks besides Jake.
Jay furrowed his brows, puzzled by the presence of a human in Sunghoon's room. The sweet scent emanating from you intrigued him, adding to his curiosity. "Who is this?" he asked, his confusion evident.
"This is YN," Sunghoon replied, observing Jay's expression as he connected the dots. "She's the person you saw me carrying on my shoulder."
Recognition dawned on Jay's face. "Ah, so you're her!"
"Well, that's certainly surprising. A human living here with us." Sunoo chimed in, happy that his suspicions were correct after all.
Niki's eyes widened in astonishment. "Wait, she's been here for months? How is she not freaked out by all of us being vampires?"
"Right...you're human. Aren't you scared or uncomfortable being around vampires?" Heeseung asked, with a hint of confusion and amusement in his tone.
You remained calm, unaffected by their supernatural nature. "To be honest, it was a bit overwhelming at first. But, after a while, Sunghoon seemed chill, making me think you all would be the same.â
The room fell into a momentary silence as everyone but Sunghoon and Jake processed the unexpected situation. It was clear that your presence had caught them off guard.
Jungwon couldn't help but offer a lighthearted remark. "So that sweet scent was yours. Well, well, who would've thought a human would willingly enter our world?"
You chuckled, feeling at ease in their presence. "I guess I'm an exception."
Jake, who had been aware of your connection with Sunghoon, smiled warmly. "We're glad to have you here, YN. It's refreshing to see someone who embraces us for who we are."
Sunghoon placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder. "I couldn't have asked for a better family, and I'm grateful that you all accept YN."
Niki shook his head in disbelief, still processing the revelation. "I can't believe I only found out about this now. Sunghoon, you really kept this secret well."
Jake, unable to resist adding some mischief, chimed in with a cheeky smile. "Well, I already knew about it."
His statement caused a range of reactions among the others. Some looked at Jake with astonishment, while others couldn't help but let out a shocked gasp.
"You knew too?!" Sunoo exclaimed, his eyes wide with surprise.
Jake simply shrugged, enjoying the reaction he was getting. "Yeah, I've known for a while. I guess Sunghoon didnât find out that I knew about YN until a week ago."
Jay shook his head, finding the situation amusing. "I can't believe you two managed to keep this from us. Secrets, secrets everywhere."
Sunghoon placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder. "I couldn't have asked for a better family, and I'm grateful that you all accept YN."
As the initial shock subsided, the room filled with a mix of laughter and teasing remarks. It seemed that despite the surprise, they were all eager to accept the new dynamic and embrace you as part of their vampire family.
âSince our Sunghoon has taken an interest in you, we accept you here.â Heeseung smiled, noticing how Sunghoon would look at you with such loving eyes. It was amusing but weird to see his brother act in such a way, but it made him feel pleased.
Feeling a sense of warmth and acceptance, you realized that you had truly found a home with these vampires, a place where you wished to stay forever.
THIRTEEN â transforming
"Sunghoon, have you ever thought about turning YN into a vampire?" Heeseung's curiosity was piqued as he prepared a meal downstairs while you were sleeping. He couldn't help but wonder about the possibility of Sunghoon turning you into a vampire.
Sunghoon's response was immediate, with a hint of surprise in his voice. "No, why would I?"
Heeseung's expression turned serious as he voiced his concern. "But she's human. Are you prepared to watch someone you love age and eventually pass away?"
Sunghoon's features shifted, his realization dawning upon him. The idea that you couldn't remain with him forever settled heavily in his mind. "Oh, I hadn't truly considered that. But what are the chances of a successful transformation? And if I were to proceed, how would I even do it?"
Heeseung paused for a moment, gathering his thoughts. "The chances of a successful transformation can vary. It depends on factors such as blood compatibility and the individual's willingness to undergo the process. Turning someone into a vampire is a complex undertaking that should be approached with great care."
Sunghoon absorbed Heeseung's words, his mind racing with possibilities. "If there's a way to turn YN into a vampire, and if it's something she genuinely desires, I would be willing to explore that option. However, it's a decision that we would need to make together, considering all the risks and consequences involved."
Heeseung offered an encouraging smile, understanding the weight of Sunghoon's contemplation. "I have faith that you'll find a way, Sunghoon. Just remember to have open and honest communication with YN and support each other in whichever path you choose."
Sunghoon nodded gratefully, appreciating his brother's guidance. He knew he could rely on his brothers for wisdom and support as he navigated the complexities of your relationship.
âIâll talk to her about it when she wakes up,â Sunghoon says, bringing the plate of food to his room.
Gently whispering your name, Sunghoon noticed you were still peacefully asleep. A smile graced his lips as he approached the table, carefully setting the prepared food down before settling himself beside you.
As he brushed away a few strands of hair from your face, he couldn't help but be captivated by your beauty. A stirring feeling fluttered in his stomachâan undeniable effect you had on him that he couldn't ignore.
His fingers continued to play with your hair as your eyes slowly opened, revealing a pair of curious and sleepy eyes that met his. A smile formed on your face as you took in the sight of him smiling back at you.
âDid you sleep well?â He asked, his gaze never leaving you. You nod, snuggling in closer to the blanket, letting a small chuckle escape from his mouth.
âI need to tell you something, but eat and freshen up first, okay?â Curiousity took over, making you nod as you got out of bed.
As you finished your meal, you couldn't help but notice Sunghoon's slightly nervous demeanor. The anticipation grew within you, and you decided to break the silence.
"What do you want to say to me?" you asked, wiping your mouth with a napkin. Your eyes were fixated on him, searching for answers in his expression.
"Have you ever wanted to turn into a vampire?" Sunghoon finally brought up the question, hoping to gauge your thoughts on the matter.
You pondered his question for a moment, reflecting on your past perceptions and current feelings. "It seemed cool and everything when I was younger, like in the movies. But now, I'm not so sure about it," you admitted, voicing your uncertainties. "Why do you ask?"
Sunghoon took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts before responding. "I've been thinking about it latelyâabout the possibility of turning you into a vampire," he confessed, his eyes searching yours for a reaction.
You blinked in surprise, caught off guard by his thoughts. The idea had never crossed your mind before, and now it hung in the air between you, laden with implications and questions.
"Why would you consider that?" you asked, a mix of curiosity and apprehension in your voice.
Sunghoon's gaze softened, and he reached out to gently hold your hand. "Because I can't imagine a future without you, YN. Turning you into a vampire would mean we could be together forever. I don't want to watch you grow old and leave this world while I remain the same."
A whirlwind of emotions swirled within you as you processed his words. The thought of eternal life was both alluring and daunting. You thought about the sacrifices and challenges that would come with such a transformation, but also the promise of everlasting love and companionship.
"I need time to think about this, Sunghoon," you replied honestly, your voice tinged with uncertainty. "It's a big decision, and there's so much to consider."
He nodded understandingly, his grip on your hand tightening slightly. "Of course, YN. Take all the time you need. I just wanted to open up this conversation and let you know what's been on my mind."
Hours turned into days and weeks. After pondering about it for a while, you decided to talk about it with Sunghoon. "Sunghoon, I've made up my mind," you said, your voice steady. "I want to be with you, and if becoming a vampire means we can be together for eternity, then I'm willing to take that step."
A mixture of relief and joy washed over Sunghoon's face as he squeezed your hand. "Thank you, Y/N. I can't express how much this means to me," he whispered, his voice filled with gratitude.
"Okay, I don't want to scare you, but part of the transformation process would involve you drinking my blood regularly," Sunghoon explained, gesturing towards his sharp teeth. "It's how you'll develop your own fangs and embrace your vampire nature."
You couldn't help but feel a slight shiver of unease at the thought. Drinking blood was far from your comfort zone, as your experiences with blood were limited to minor accidents and dental procedures.
"It does sound a bit intimidating," you admitted, your voice tinged with apprehension. "I've never done anything like that before."
Sunghoon nodded understandingly, realizing the unfamiliarity of the concept to you. "I completely understand your concern. It's a significant step, but I assure you, I'll be there to guide you through it every step of the way."
He gently took your hand, his touch offering a sense of reassurance. "We'll start slowly, with small amounts. I'll make sure you're comfortable and safe throughout the process. You won't be alone in this."
His words, coupled with his caring demeanor, helped alleviate some of your worries. You began to consider the possibilities that lay ahead.
"I appreciate your support, Sunghoon," you replied, mustering up courage. "If this is what it takes to be with you and embark on this journey, I'm willing to give it a try."
Sunghoon's eyes lit up with gratitude and love. "Thank you, Y/N. Your trust means the world to me," he expressed, his voice filled with genuine warmth.
"Let's start, shall we?" Sunghoon smiled, gently taking your hands in his. You nodded, watching him get up and get a cup. "You can look away if you want."
Choosing to avert your gaze, you listened intently as the sound of blood pouring into the cup filled the air. It was a strange and surreal moment, knowing that soon you would be consuming that very substance. Your heart raced, but you trusted Sunghoon's guidance and the new love that you two were creating.
The clinking sound of the cup being placed on the table made you turn your head, catching a glimpse of Sunghoon as he healed his cut with his vampire abilities. It was a fascinating display, reminding you of the extraordinary world you were about to become a part of.
Your eyes shifted back to the cup, anxiety creeping in once more. Sensing your worries, Sunghoon reached out to reassure you. "Don't worry, Y/N. Just think of it as a cup of wine," he suggested, his voice soothing and comforting. "An expensive and rare kind that you can't get anywhere else."
His words brought a hint of lightheartedness to the situation, and a small smile formed on your lips. Sunghoon's ability to find humor even in unconventional circumstances was one of the things you admire about him.
Taking a deep breath, you mentally prepared yourself for what lay ahead. As you lifted the cup to your lips, the scent of blood filled your senses, mixing with a hint of excitement and fear. You closed your eyes and took a small sip, feeling the warm liquid glide down your throat.
The taste was distinct and unlike anything you had experienced before. It carried a primal energy tinged with a hint of sweetness. As you swallowed, a surge of energy coursed through your body, awakening these random senses.
As you placed the cup back on the table, your eyes met Sunghoonâs. He smiled and was glad you didnât back out. This was only the start, and Sunghoon would gladly walk that path with you.
FOURTEEN â always forever
Sunghoon's voice trembled with concern as he pleaded, "Please, Y/N, you need to drink this as well." You lay in his bed, eyes tightly shut, consumed by fear and doubt.
"I'm really scared, Sunghoon. I donât know whatâs happening to me," you confess, your voice quivering. Cold beads of sweat trickle down your forehead as the symptoms of the transformation continue to unsettle you. The thought of relying on blood for sustenance forever sends a chill down your spine. "I don't want to spend eternity feeding on blood."
"I understand your fears, Y/N," Sunghoon spoke softly, his voice filled with compassion. He grabs a cloth, wiping off the sweat on your forehead. âThis feeling is only temporary. After this, youâll be back to normal again, just with new abilities and drinking blood.â
He watches you open your eyes, looking at the cup of blood on the nightstand. The blood started to increase more and more daily, making you feel worried.
"Once the transformation is complete, you'll gain better control over your vampire instincts and abilities," he explained, his voice gentle yet reassuring. âYou canât just die on me here, just because you donât want some blood. We made a promise.â
âI donât knowâŠâ Fear was starting to eat you alive, and you werenât sure if you wanted to continue this. You felt like dying; these new abilities were starting to take over your body. You felt your teeth shifting and your body stirring with random feelingsâyou had no control over your body.
It took a while for you to realize the process wasnât pretty. The thought of relying on blood for sustenance sent shivers down your spine, and the mere idea of an eternal existence dependent on it felt overwhelming.
Sunghoon noticed you felt like giving up. He prays that you wouldnât; he couldnât bear seeing you leave, especially after trying out his idea. He found himself falling for you; it was impossible to get out now.
He reached for your hand, pouring out his true emotions. "But please remember that I love you. I have never felt this way before, and I can't imagine my life without you. This transformation is a means for us to be together and embrace our future. It won't define our entire existence."
His words reached the deepest corners of your soul, stirring emotions that intertwined with your fears. The intensity of his love and the profound connection you shared offered a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness of uncertainty.
"But Sunghoon," you whispered, your voice trembling with vulnerability, "what if I can't handle it? What if I can't adapt? I don't want to lose myself or hurt anyone."
Sunghoon's hand gently cupped your face; his touch was warm and reassuring. "Y/N, I have complete faith in you," he declared, his voice filled with unwavering belief. "You're strong, and together we'll navigate this journey. I'll be by your side every step of the way, guiding and supporting you."
His eyes locked with yours, their depth revealing his sincerity. "You're not alone in this, Y/N. Iâll be yours always and forever.â
Tears streamed down your cheeks as you absorbed his words, feeling the weight of his love and commitment. Though your fears still lingered, his unwavering support brought you solace and reminded you of the extraordinary bond you shared.
With a trembling hand, you reached for the cup, your gaze never leaving Sunghoon's. As you took a sip, his tender smile filled you with a sense of courage. It was the strength of your love that would carry you through the uncertainties, assuring you that together you could overcome any obstacle.
In that moment, you knew that your love for each other would be the guiding light amidst the darkness. As you embarked on this transformative journey, you held onto the belief that love could conquer all and that with Sunghoon by your side, there was nothing you couldn't face.
From that point forward, you mustered the strength to confront your fear of blood. There were moments when the metallic taste in your mouth became overwhelming, and you longed for a different existence. However, with Sunghoon's unwavering support and guidance, you persevered.
As time passed, you noticed the unmistakable signs of your transformation. Your once ordinary teeth have now sharpened into the iconic fangs of a vampire, marking your departure from humanity. It was a strange and exhilarating feeling, knowing that you were no longer the same as before. Sunghoon observed your progress with pride, a smile dancing on his lips as he witnessed your remarkable adaptation.
Under Sunghoon's patient instruction, you embarked on training sessions together. He taught you how to harness your newfound invisibility and leverage your enhanced speed to capture your future prey with precision. Although you made occasional missteps and errors, Sunghoon remained a pillar of calm and support, always offering gentle guidance, unlike his interactions with his own brothers.
Together, you honed your skills, learning the delicate balance between strength and restraint. Sunghoon's understanding and empathy fostered an environment of trust and growth. With each passing day, you grew more confident in your abilities, emboldened by the unwavering belief Sunghoon had in you.
"You're doing great," Sunghoon reassured you, his words instilling a surge of confidence within you.
"You think so?" you asked, seeking affirmation.
"Yes, absolutely," Sunghoon replied with a warm smile. "You're adapting to this new life with remarkable ease. It's truly impressive, even more than I could have imagined."
His genuine praise filled you with a sense of pride and accomplishment. Hearing such words of encouragement from Sunghoon, who had experienced the vampire transformation himself, meant the world to you. It reaffirmed that you were not alone in this journey and that your progress was real and significant.
Sunghoon's unwavering support gave you the strength to push beyond your limits and embrace the challenges that came with your newfound abilities. With each step forward, you grew more confident in your capacity to navigate the vampire world alongside him.
"Thank you for being so patient with me, Sunghoon," you said, a genuine smile gracing your lips.
"Of course, YN," Sunghoon replied, his own smile mirroring yours. "I'll always be here for you, ready to offer my support and guidance whenever you need it."
His words resonate deeply within you, reaffirming the strength of your bond. Sunghoon's unwavering patience and dedication have been instrumental in your transformation journey. He had never faltered in his commitment to helping you navigate this new world and discover the extent of your potential as a vampire.
With Sunghoon by your side, you felt an unspoken sense of security and assurance. He had become more than just a mentor or guide; he was a pillar of strength, a source of comfort, and a confidant who understood you in ways no one else could.
As you gazed into his eyes, you knew that this journey was not just about becoming a vampire. It was about the profound connection and trust that had blossomed between you. And with each passing day, your gratitude for Sunghoon's unwavering presence in your life only grew stronger.

"okay, that's all for today guys! don't forget to come early tomorrow, we can't waste time!"
you let out a big sigh the second those words passed through your ears, you were tired, sleepy and the long practice was finally over, today you tried so much harder than usual and you could feel how your legs burned with every movement you made, all you wanted was to be in the comfort of your bed, even if it meant that when you got up your legs would shake.
from being relieved now you wanted to rip your ears off, you could hear how a small group of girls who were next to you didn't stop talking about how "beautiful" the boy who made your days a nightmare was. you just rolled your eyes in disgust, you didn't even know what they saw in him, he was arrogant, selfish, greedy, stupid and above all he had a bad temper, you weren't surprised to know that he had no friends when he treated everyone in an inferior way believing that he was better than the rest, who would want to be close to someone like him?
definitely not you, you couldn't even think of him as someone attractive when his personality already said everything about him as a person and didn't let you see beyond his frown that was furrowed 24 hours a day, the only times you could see him smile was when he beat you in some competition by making fun of you and you just wanted to erase any trace of happiness in him as if he were a picture of a fresh painting. not in a thousand years you could see yourself being friends with him, much less knowing all the things he said and did to you for the last 10 years.
while you were waiting for the rest of your teammates to leave the ice rink, your body almost ended up on the ground, you could feel someone bumping your shoulder sharply, causing you to almost lose your balance.
you turned to see who it was, and sure enough it was park sunghoon.
you cursed under your breath when you saw that arrogant smile of his peek over the edge of his lips, it was as if he had been listening to your thoughts all this time and wanted to take revenge, your friend yuna who was only a few meters from you watching everything could only laugh while covering her mouth. you had forgotten that you always had to be alert when you were around him.
you were about to say something to him but your coach's hand on your shoulder stopped you.
"hey i know you're tired but tomorrow you can stay up late training? i want to focus on you and sunghoon." if just the presence of him already put you in a bad mood, having to spend more time with him only made you want to drop off the earth.
"with sunghoon? is it really necessary?" you wanted him to be joking, you wanted to refuse, no matter what reasons mr. choi had for holding you back to share the same air as him.
"yes, you know that the olympics are close, i want to make sure that their routines are as perfect as possible," you let out another long sigh, turning your gaze towards yuna who was looking at you confused "i know that your relationship is not the best but you don't even have to speak, i will make you work until exhaustion and you know it. i only want the best for both and ensure that you win a medal, do not forget that you will be representing the republic of korea and that it is also one of your dreams, i'm doing this only for you."
and there was his speech again, you were tired of hearing it but as much as you hated the idea you knew he was right, besides for nothing in the world would you let someone like sunghoon ruin your chance to go to the olympics.
you will work hard, do better than him and win the gold medal. you wouldn't let him beat you.
"okay." your coach's smile lit up his face completely. when it came to skating he could be very tough but you knew he had a big heart, he was like your second father, after all you knew him since you were six years old.
"i'm happy to hear that, then i'll see you tomorrow." he gave a gentle squeeze on your shoulder and you just smiled back.
"what was that?" yuna was almost on top of your body waiting for an answer while you took off your skates.
"nothing, it's just that it seems that for the next few months i will have to spend more hours with sunghoon," you frowned "and every day, as if seeing him three times a week wasn't enough." you jerked your skates away but instantly regretted it, you didn't want them to be ruined.
yuna placed her finger between your eyebrows "you're going to get wrinkles," you couldn't help but giggle "and why are you so mad anyway? remember that this is not about sunghoon but about you and the olympics. i know that you will do great and win a medal."
"i guess you're right," you got up ready to go, with yuna walking by your side "and by medal you mean the gold one right?" you were joking but seeing that she was silent you hit her shoulder playfully "i can't believe that you are like my best friend and you are on his side." you put a hand on your chest pretending to be hurt.
she just laughed "i'm not! but you can't deny that he's pretty good too, you're not called the ice prince and princess for nothing. it's still hard to say who's better and anyone can win."
"yeah whatever you say, but i'm still better." you laughed but you couldn't help but feel some jealousy and insecurity.
you could see sunghoon talking to the coach in a corner, after all it wasn't the first time he beat you. you wrinkled your nose and went on your way, you didn't want to think about him anymore when you were more than sure that the following weeks would be insufferable, you had better things to do than think about him and his stupid face, just like how to improve your routine.
you were going to do your best, you just hoped you could beat him this time.
â
"just focus, try to do it one more time."
you bit your lip as you got up from the floor in frustration after falling for the fourth time trying to do a triple axel. you were angry, angry with yourself, with your coach, with sunghoon who kept sneering silently every time you made a mistake, you were angry with everything. and embarrassed too.
it was ridiculous that now you didn't get that jump when you had done it thousands of times before without problems, you didn't know what was wrong with you that day but you just wanted to do it right so you could stay calm, to stop tormenting your mind with the olympics and in the thousands of mistakes you could make when you were there.
you took a deep breath as you skated around the rink with your eyes closed trying to gain some confidence, muttering words of encouragement to yourself, preparing to do it one more time. you ignored everything around you, you forgot mr choi's expectant look and sunghoon's teasing one, you silenced the voices in your head and tried. it was only you
but you failed again.
"okay, that's enough." mr choi looked disappointed and couldn't even look you in the face but you didn't blame him, you couldn't do it either, the olympics were close and you were already doing everything wrong from day one. you weren't even able to show him your entire routine because you kept making silly mistakes.
you could hear sunghoon's bitter laugh in the distance "i don't even know why you focus so much on her and have so much faith when she can't even do a simple triple axel," you looked him in the eyes wanting to kill him and wishing he would shut his mouth "why is she going to the olympics with me anyway? she will never be good enough." his smirk just made you want to punch him in the face.
"sunghoon." the coach called his name with a frown, he was upset and he knew it but still didn't care, he just shrugged his shoulders pretending "stop talking, it's your turn."
tears threatened to come out of your eyes, you just sat waiting for sunghoon to finish so you could try a few more times, you closed your eyes and covered them with your hands, you didn't even want to see how he did everything perfectly, you tried to review in your mind everything you have prepared so far, but your plans are ruined when mr. choi sits next to you.
"you can go home for today," you could feel how the air left your lungs, you wanted to refuse but he kept talking "i know what you're going to tell me but the answer is no, it's clear that this is not your day, you aren't well and you have to rest because if you go there again," his finger pointed the ice rink "and you fall, you could hurt yourself and i'm sure you don't want that." he crossed his arms over his chest, waiting for you to say something but you just stayed silent looking down "look, we still have a lot of time to train, but i want you to be focused for next time, okay? we can't work like this, come tomorrow with a cool head." his cold expression changed to a softer one as soon as he caressed your hair "and don't pay attention to what sunghoon says."
your throat was closed due to the force you exerted to avoid crying preventing you from speaking, you wanted to thank him for everything but you couldn't, although you were sure he knew it.
you focused on the last thing he said to you, you were already used to sunghoon's words but that didn't mean they couldn't hurt you, they cut deep and stayed with you, you focused your gaze on him but it only made you feel worse, you hated the way he could do everything effortlessly, he aced every move, he didn't need to do much because his presence already lit up the whole place.
ever since you can remember sunghoon was like that, he had an innate talent and you were always jealous for that, he was born with a gift and you had to work hard every day to even be able to be at his level, you wanted to curse him for that.
you remembered his words from a few seconds ago, you couldn't even clearly remember why it all started.
but you hated park sunghoon.
and he hated you too.
it was nothing new for the people who knew you, it was already well known that the two of you were always competitive with each other and that you tried to be better than everyone else, all that rivalry had started when you were kids and after years it still wasn't over, it was ridiculous but it seemed to have no end.
how you wished sunghoon would fall or make some mistake so you could make fun of him the same way he made fun of you, but that didn't seem to happen anytime soon. it was stupid to deny how good he was, you could rarely see him do anything wrong and for that reason it only embarrassed you more that you couldn't get a jump you had been doing for years, sunghoon had improved a lot in a few months and you felt like you were still stuck in the same level since you are 17 years old.
you wanted to laugh when you remembered that time you tried to be friends with him at 9 years old because you had been put together for a routine, everything had started well, both were shy so you didn't talk much at first but you already admired him because you used to see him from afar.
but because of a bad move you started yelling at each other.
sunghoon was rubbing his elbow with a pained expression on his face "it's all your fault! you don't know how to skate" you already apologized and were waiting for him to do the same because you hurt your knee, but instead he just blamed you everything and stuck his tongue out at you, and that was something you couldn't tolerate.
"liar! you're the one who made us fall!" watching two little kids fight could be fun, but his coach was quick to join you to stop the yelling.
"hey, it's okay, don't fight, we're all friends and these mistakes can happen, right? now i want you to apologize." she held you both by the shoulder and brought you closer so you were face to face "come on, what are you waiting for?"
"i already apologized and he was rude." you couldn't get the frown off your face and for nothing in the world would you apologize again.
"that's a lie." sunghoon just stuck his tongue out at you again and by that time you were already crying. you hated when people were mean to you.
"dumb!" maybe you shouldn't have said that, but it was too late.
"stop crying, you look ugly!"
that afternoon, in fact, you couldn't stop crying and your parents had to pick you up to take you home, you didn't want to go for a few days but you decided you wouldn't let a silly kid ruin your fun. and since then sunghoon always made fun of you at every chance he got, he even gave you the nickname "cry baby" even though you never stood idly by and that was just another reason for things between you to get worse. you still remember like it was yesterday when he told you that you would never become good figure skater even if you practiced your whole life.
you didn't even remember how it had been or if it was really his fault that you fell, but the fact is that everything had started because he didn't want to apologize and was rude to you, you used to be a very sensitive kid so you still had a grudge against him.
you were very different, sunghoon was someone cold, selfish and very hard on himself too, while for your part you were very different from him you always found the bright side of things, you helped your teammates no matter what and you enjoyed what you did, you could never understand him no matter how hard you tried, you were more than sure that he was an insensitive and heartless boy.
yeah, you hated park sunghoon.
â
it's been 2 weeks and you're still staying up late with sunghoon to train, there were other competitions coming up but you two were the stars for the olympics.
you were doing better every time, and he was not far behind.
you hated to admit it but he was good. he was so freaking good.
the way he moves is captivating, you could spend hours just watching him move, he was delicate but precise and marked his movements well at the same time, the elegance and beauty of the sport is portrayed in every aspect of him when he's on the ice, he was definitely made for it.
but you didn't except less, after all he was your competition for a reason.
his routine was too good, but you had confidence in yourself and that yours was even better, you would not let something similar to happen a few years ago, when they chose him over you for almost all the competitions they had to represent to the republic of korea, that was your last straw. you still remember crying almost every night because of it.
"excuse me guys, i have a call and i have to answer." you just nodded and kept looking at sunghoon.
he took advantage of that moment to start practicing his quad axel, ever since he saw his biggest idol do it he became obsessed with the idea that he could do it too, mr. choi always scolded him because it was a very dangerous jump and he could get hurt by whatever mistake he made, but he was stubborn and kept trying anyway but you weren't surprised, knowing his personality you were sure he thought he was better than the rest and it wouldn't take him long to handle it perfectly.
you looked to the side for a second diverting your attention from him and a loud noise made you turn back to him almost instantly, sunghoon was on the floor and you just hissed because it was sure painful "better luck next time!" you yelled at him as you saw how he turned around floor.
you brushed him off and just got ready to enter the ice rink, but he wasn't moving an inch and had his face hidden in his arms.
"sunghoon what the hell are you doing? get out so i can practice, you're on the way." you snorted. you thought he was faking it but it took you a couple of seconds to realize he wasn't.
ignoring the voices in your head you quickly approach him, kneeling beside him, you see how his knuckles were white from squeezing his hands so much. you didn't know what to do, he hurted himself? should you tell him something? help him up? call mr choi? all thought left your head the moment sunghoon's eyes collided with yours, they were red and his cheeks were wet with traces of tears, his brow was furrowed and his lip had a small trace of blood from how strong he had been biting all that time.
and you didn't like the feeling of your stomach wanting to come out of your mouth.
"get the fuck off." you didn't realize your hand was so close to his body until he pushed it away. you tried to ignore him and want to help him but he didn't even let you speak "where's mr. choi?"
"i don't know." you walked away from him, not wanting to deal with his bad mood any longer and call mr. choi to take care of him instead.
you saw him struggle to get up, but as soon as he wanted to rest his body on his right leg it vanished almost instantly, he threw a curse into the air. the great park sunghoon, the ice prince, lying on the ground crying from a silly fall? you could only think how pathetic he looked at that moment.
"stop doing that, god you look so stupid, i will just call an ambulance or something." you didn't even really know what you were supposed to do.
the only reason you wanted to use your phone was so you could take a picture of him without him noticing and make fun of it for all eternity. you knew that he was embarrassed by his photos of when he was a child that still circulated on the internet, so this was the perfect opportunity to have a good laugh every time you entered any social media, seeing him so vulnerable just gave you infinite ideas. but you didn't do any of them, and you weren't sure if he would have done the same to you.
"just call mr. choi, i don't need you." he ran his hands over his face and pulled at his hair in frustration.
"can you shut up? i'm trying to be nice, you know i could just leave you lying here suffering because you're an idiot who doesn't know his limits and doesn't accept help, right?" maybe you should have done what he told you instead of continuing to embitter your existence with his presence.
"did i ever ask you to come help me? stop acting like you're good now, i don't need your stupid pity and much less your help, i'd rather break my ankle than be another second near you." you were more than grateful that those feelings were mutual, you were just wasting your time trying to be nice to him.
and so you confirmed once again that you hated him.
but that annoying sensation didn't leave your chest, you hated sunghoon but you hated even more that feeling that you never felt for him invade your body before. was it pity? you were sure it was, it must also be the nerves of the moment. and you couldn't sit idly by, you didn't even know where mr. choi had gone, if you just left him alone there you wouldn't be much better than him.
and you don't want to be someone like him.
"well the thing is you probably did break your ankle." the look he gave you almost made you back away from him, you've never seen so many emotions run through someone's orbs before and it was overwhelming.
you didn't want to keep looking at him because of how uncomfortable you were starting to feel so you turned around looking for mr. choi, you didn't want to be there anymore, but you couldn't even get 2 meters away from him when he finally appeared.
"what happened?" his voice sounded scared, terrified. he hurriedly approached sunghoon and wasted no time taking off his skate and seeing the state of his body, you walked away while listening to his moans of pain. this was none of your business "y/n i already called an ambulance, you go with him i will follow you with my car behind."
"what?" you opened your eyes wanting to believe that you heard wrong, but mr. choi repeated it to you loud and clear "but-"
"no excuses now."
you couldn't say another word. everything had happened very quickly, you didn't even remember if it was your body that moved on its own but you were already in the back of the ambulance next to sunghoon. you wanted to die.
both are wrapped in a silence that surpassed the uncomfortable, the tension could be counted with just a knife no matter how sharp it was, you keep looking everywhere avoiding his eyes.
"you need to tell your family." you didn't realize those words came out of your mouth instead of staying in your head.
"i don't have my phone." his eyes closed and you had barely heard him speak.
"i'll call them for you, i just need you to give me a number."
"no you won't, god stop being so annoying, just let mr. choi take care of everything." and there was his annoyed expression again, you were already surprised to see him calm for so long.
you wanted to say so many things at that time, but not a single sound left your lips just out of pity.
you made a little mental note to yourself that this would be the first and last time you would try to help park sunghoon.
â
the atmosphere was tense, you felt how simply the air from those four walls crushed your body and cut the air from your lungs, your head was heavy and the vision in your eyes became blurred over time because you had only been looking at the same spot in the floor for the last 10 minutes.
you never felt that time passed as slowly as it does now.
you just wanted mr. choi to finish talking to the doctor and finish all his calls so you could tell him that you would leave that place to go home, if you spent just one more second next to sunghoon you would feel how your lungs would become intoxicated.
and he felt the same as you, it was uncomfortable having your presence so close and that neither said anything knowing that a single comment would be like dropping a bomb, and both knew that the damage it would leave couldn't be repaired.
but there you were, opening your big, silly mouth, unable to contain yourself "how do you feel?"
"are you seriously asking me that?" you rolled your eyes for the sixth time that day at his response, at least you no longer felt your throat burn.
"yes, that's what i just did, are you deaf?" you spat out your words
sunghoon's mood wasn't the best, it never was, and with everything he was feeling at the time, your words and your mere presence were enough to make him explode.
"god, can you just leave me alone and get the fuck out of here!? why would i want someone as useless as you here? i'm sick of you, you're not good at skating or doing whatever it is you want to do now! we're not friends and never will be don't even try it, get that into that head of yours at least that's how you use it for something, i don't even know why you're still here when all you do is sulk me up and be a nuisance here." his finger was pointing at you, his body moving closer to yours with every word he spat hatefully in your face and neither of you broke eye contact.
it was pathetic how his words still had such an effect on you, he meant nothing to you so why did it hurt so much? why did you want to cry and yell in his face for him to shut up? why did your body feel so weak, as if your knees would lose strength if you kept looking into his eyes?
for almost all your life you had to put up with his insults and mistreatment, you were sick of it, you didn't want to keep quiet anymore, he even screwed up your mind making you believe thousands of times that you could never be a good skater knowing how much it affected you and how much it meant to you, you both shared the same passion so what was his problem? every day you wished you had never met him.
you would travel to the past a million times changing the timeline as much as necessary to avoid meeting him, to avoid knowing his name that consumed so much time and energy, to avoid feeling the way you did now.
"fuck you sunghoon, you've been acting like a fucking idiot when all i wanted to do was help you! you're a selfish bastard who just likes to suck the life out of people, you can't and don't have the right to treat me like shit just because you want to, i'm tired of you and you know what? i'm thankful that you injured your ankle and you can't go to the olympics now because it was your big dream, right? well that's a shame because you really deserved it and i really hope you never get to skate again!"
you would go back in time to avoid becoming someone heartless like him who didn't measure his words and only spoke with the intention of hurting all the people around him.
your heart was threatening to burst out of its cage in the rage of the moment. those words came from the depths of you, you knew that everything you said was wrong but you didn't regret it, at least you no longer felt that annoying weight on your chest.
"hey why are you guys yelling so much? we're in a hospital." the moment mr. choi's voice reached your ears was when you finally looked away from sunghoon's eyes.
"get out." his voice came out weaker than before, you couldn't see him in the face, you wanted to give him the pleasure of seeing you doing something he asked you after so long and you just walked out of there without saying anything.
you did it, you really made the effort to get along with him not just once but twice already but now you regret even thinking about it in the first place, so many years had passed and you didn't know why you thought maybe he had changed.
â
you closed your eyes tightly in the hope that it would help you become invisible to mr. choi.
you knew that when he approached you with that look it was to ask you for something you didn't like. and you knew that it only meant one thing; park sunghoon.
"you don't know anything about him?" you looked at him with tired eyes, although you could understand his concern, what happened to him had nothing to do with you.
"no, why should i know?" you wanted to hit yourself when you noticed how rude those words had come out, he didn't have to pay for your bad mood in the last few days.
the words of the famous ice prince wouldn't leave your head and they didn't seem to want to do it soon either, you couldn't skate in peace thinking that maybe you could fall like him or remembering all the times he told you that you would never be a good skater, or that all your routines were mediocre.
you hated that despite not seeing him these days you still felt his shadow behind you in everything you did once you entered the ice rink, as if he were saying those cruel words in your ear all the time.
"great, because i need you to take the stuff he left here when he got injured, i would but..." he didn't continue saying anything else, you sighed when you thought that maybe he was doing all that on purpose, after all it wasn't the first time he did something like this so that you two would get along.
your silence was an affirmative answer for him, so he went to look for the bags and the skates, which was probably what he left behind. you turned your head finding yuna, instantly begging her with your eyes to come with you.
"don't even think about it." she turned her back on you starting to walk in the opposite direction and you already had your arms holding her against your body.
"please, please, don't leave me alone in this," you said in a whimper, your words muffled against her back, you didn't want to get your face out of there until she said yes "did you forget all the things i did for you?"
you thought you could easily manipulate her but she knew you too well for your liking "as much as i love you, it's not in my plans to go to his house, much less with you knowing what happened the last time you saw each other" you didn't want that either, go to sunghoon's house and alone? not even in dreams.
and in a blink there you were, in front of the door of his house.
completely alone.
on the way there all you did was curse yuna for letting you go to that hell alone and you cursed sunghoon too by the way because there was never a bad time to do it. why didn't he go get his things? or his parents?
the neighbors probably thought you were a freak for standing there for more than 5 minutes without even moving a bit. you had to work up the strength to see him and not shoot him with the first thing in your hand.
you gathered your strength and lifting your chest like a dove, you rang the doorbell praying that anyone but him would open it.
but your prayers were in vain when his weary face with dark circles under his eyes and crutches on both sides of his body were the first thing you saw.
you didn't even know what to say or do, your eyes widened in surprise, ever since you met him there wasn't a single time you saw him in such a... unfortunate state, his face was always perfect and groomed, you were sure he would always took the necessary time to look good at any time and especially in his presentations that finding any imperfection on his face was like looking for a needle in a haystack. you couldn't help but feel bad for him, he looked as if he had spent the whole night crying and only now was getting up from his depressive nest. you knew it because you were like that before and you weren't proud of it.
the sudden breeze hitting your face snaps you out of your thoughts, sunghoon had slammed the door in your face without saying anything and didn't even give you a chance to speak. you couldn't believe it, he was acting like a capricious child, you opened your mouth to yell at him but you just threw his things on the floor in anger not caring what was inside and you were ready to walk away, but a soft voice at your back stopped all your movements.
"oh, i'm so sorry! please excuse my son, he never behaves like that." you wanted to laugh at that, if only she knew.
ignoring that, you focused on her, you couldn't deny that her eyes and her black hair hypnotized you for a few seconds, it wasn't the first time you saw sunghoon's mother but the first time you were so close to her. the two of them were almost the same in appearance but from a distance you could already tell that she was much sweeter than him.
"it's okay, i just came to drop off the bags that he left behind the other day." your cheeks turned red at how soft your voice became.
"thank you so much and i'm sorry for the inconvenience, we couldn't find time to go look for them ourselves." she took the bags in her hands and started to go into the house, you thought she was going to say goodbye to you "please come in!" and you were wrong.
"but mom-" all that time sunghoon was behind her and only now did you notice.
"you just go in and stay there, i'll talk to you later." although she said it as low as possible just for him to hear it also reached your ears and you couldn't help but giggle, not even sunghoon's gaze could shut you up, but his mother turning to see you again did "please join us, we were about to have dinner as a family."
"oh no! no need-"
"please! you took the trouble to come here and you need to eat something, take it as an apology," you wanted to say no again, make up some excuse, any would be fine but the look in her eyes won you over and now you were standing awkwardly inside their house while you waited for mrs. park to close the door behind you "sunghoon take this to your room."
the expression he put on seemed amused, he made you want to laugh again, probably because it seemed like his room was upstairs and he, well... had crutches.
his mother disappeared from your sight and if before you were uncomfortable now with sunghoon by your side it was much worse.
"can you- uh, can you help me?" him asking you for help was the last thing you expected.
you hesitated, you didn't want to do it you still couldn't forget everything he told you days ago and that still hurt your chest when you remembered it, you wanted to see him fight to be able to carry the bags by himself and if it was possible that his ankle would hurt even more, you wanted to be just as shitty as him and tell him to his face all the things you still had saved.
but you couldn't.
you couldn't afford to stoop that low just because you were hurt, he needed your help so you would just do it. in complete silence you grabbed the largest bag and started to climb the stairs, you had to wait at the top of them for him to come to your side and tell you where to leave it, on that small path you couldn't help but look around you, it was full of family pictures and you noticed that downstairs there was a special place with all the medals and trophies sunghoon had won since he was a kid, up here there were a lot of pictures of him since he was practically a baby, you weren't that surprised because after all you knew each other since you were 6 years old and you still remembered how he looked at that time and he hadn't changed that much since then.
but what did surprise you was seeing his smile in all the photos, when you saw him he rarely smiled and in that hallway all the happiness and love he felt for figure skating was captured, something you had never seen in all the time that you knew him, he was always a private person so he probably only showed himself that way to his family, but it was reassuring to see that he wasn't always the moody guy who seemed to hate everyone and life itself.
"you can leave it here." you had been so immersed looking at the photos that you didn't notice sunghoon in front of the door of his room. you were surprised again to see that he wasn't so⊠cold. there were posters of his favorite skaters and probably his favorite bands, plus there were a few stuffed animals lying around as well.
sunghoon's mother's voice calling both of you from downstairs made you remember that now you had to have dinner with his family, your hands were shaking and he noticed that "don't be nervous, they aren't going to bite you." you snorted, wanting to kick one of their crutches out of sight.
"just shut up, I shouldn't even be here right now."
"hey be more respectful, be grateful that my family wants to have someone like you in our house, if it were up to me I wouldn't even have opened the door for you." you just ignored him and left his room, but the moment you were downstairs again the nerves consumed your body.
"come on sweetie, dinner is ready." mrs. park caressed your shoulder affectionately and led you to the table where there were already two other people, you quickly bowed.
contrary to what you thought, the conversation with his family was really nice they made an effort to make you feel at home and you appreciated that, although at first it was a bit awkward and it seemed that they asked you questions as if you were sunghoon's partner, you were able to talk with them as if you had known them all your life, his mother and sister were some of the sweetest people you have met so far, his father didn't speak much but still congratulated you as if you were his own daughter when you started talking about your achievements on the ice rink.
sunghoon didn't even speak to you the whole night, although most of the conversation was focused on you he managed to act as if you didn't exist, when he talked to his family he seemed like a completely different person from the one you knew, the tone of his voice was much softer with them and he laughed more often, you were sure his giggles would stay in your mind for a long time because as much as you hated to admit it, he was adorable.
that night something in your head changed, your perception of him still hadn't changed that much, his family was still much nicer than him however ignoring that you always thought he was someone arrogant who didn't care if he was the best or not because just it came naturally to him and he was unable to empathize with or care for anyone other than himself.
but maybe you were wrong.
he was still a jerk to you, but you got to know a part of him you didn't know existed.
â
"thank you so much for everything." you lost count of the times you bowed and thanked for everything.
"you can always come back whenever you want darling, next time I can make you your favorite food," you smiled at her, ready to go "are you going alone? It's quite late already sunghoon can accompany you so you don't go alone."
you wanted to throw up at that thought, you tried to say different excuses but none had convinced mrs. park enough to let you walk alone late at night, so the three of you agreed that it would only be a few blocks.
you were convinced that the awkward atmosphere between you whenever you were alone would never leave, you wanted that moment to end quickly but considering that he can't even walk properly it was kind of hard.
you had been walking side by side for several minutes in complete silence, you bit your lip as you watched the stars in the sky to distract yourself.
"my doctor said that I can skate again without much effort," he spoke out of the blue and you just left him, at least he had broken the silence "I won't be able to go to the olympics but at least it's not so bad that it leaves me without skating for the rest of my life."
you knew he was saying that because of what you told him that time in the hospital, you hesitated to apologize, you remembered the moment from years ago but you were no longer children and you had to be responsible for your words, after all you couldn't hold a grudge all your life.
"I'm sorry."
he shook his head denying "you have nothing to apologize for, that should be me."
"what?" you couldn't believe that, park sunghoon apologizing? you wanted to pinch yourself to make sure you weren't imagining it "you're apologizing because your mother asked you to, right?" you wanted to make fun of him because you didn't think his attempted apology was sincere, but his words silenced you.
"look, I'm only going to say this once," you had both stopped walking and now you were looking into each other's eyes, you had never paid them as much attention as now, he swallowed before speaking "I'm really sorry."
you didn't know what to say, your body went still and the words disappeared from your head, you realized how hard it had been for him to blurt out those words and part of it was funny, but on the other hand you couldn't stop thinking about the fact that he apologized to you. after yearsâafter having said so many horrible things, this was the first time that you both let your true feelings show and were vulnerable.
you were both sorry and you noticed it.
both look into each other's eyes for a while longer until he finally leaves greeting you with a slight nod, leaving you stunned in the middle of the night, with the stars as the only witness of that rare moment.
maybe your perception of him had changed that day after all.
â
it had been almost 3 weeks since that little conversation you had and you haven't heard from him since.
for some reason now your mind felt more relaxed and you were able to feel freer with your movements, now you did everything 10 times better than before.
except today you seemed to have a problem again, you had been trying to do a toe loop for several minutes but you always landed wrong or didn't complete all the laps, you were already starting to get frustrated and mr choi didn't seem to be around at the time.
"you're doing it wrong." a soft voice behind you makes you turn your body almost completely towards him.
"what are you doing here?" It was the first thing that came out of your mouth when you saw him enter the ice rink.
"skating" he left without bothering to look at you and you sighed once more, it would always be difficult trying to talk to him, especially knowing the kind of complicated relationship you still had. not that you had become the best of friends for an apology.
but at least you were relieved that his ankle was okay, you still felt bad about what you told him at the hospital. although you couldn't stop thinking about the idea that this would be a chance to win because it left your way clear.
you tried it one more time, with the small big difference that when you landed sunghoon's hands were on you, you shivered when you felt the contact of his skin on your waist.
"you keep doing it wrong." you saw his smirk, surely he was making fun of you.
"I know." you wanted to walk away from the uncomfortable feeling of your heart starting to beat faster but his grip only tightened.
"yeah but you're not doing anything to fix it, you keep making the same mistake over and over again." feeling his breath against your neck sent shivers down your spine.
"what do you want?" you pushed his hands away from you more roughly than you meant to. now you were seeing each other face to face.
sunghoon rolled his eyes "nothing, I just want to help you" you narrowed your eyes, not fully believing in his words "you have to lift your chest more, you're very hunched over and you're just going to end up hurting yourself." he showed with his body how you had been doing it, giving you a quizzical look for not knowing something so simple "try again now."
you snorted but you listened to what he said, you did the same as before only changing your posture a little. and to your surprise you were able to achieve it perfectly.
"see? I told you." today he was very smiling, it was rare to see him like that.
"thanks but what are you? are you trying to be my trainer now?"
"so what if I want to be?" your body stopped moving just to look at him incredulously and instantly a big laugh came out of his mouth.
"what is so funny?"
"your faces," it took him a couple of seconds to calm down, by the time he finished he was on his knee while the other held his stomach "I'm serious, after all I won't be able to compete and you're the only one good enough out of here that can win, I won't let you lose just because you can't do a dumb toe loop."
he just said you were good? even though you thought the idea of ââhim was a bit stupid, you could feel how all the heat of your body was concentrated in your cheeks dyeing them red, why was he being nice to you so suddenly? did he forget all the things you said to each other? surely the blow he took made him dumber than he already was.
you could hear him laugh again "shut up."
â
"what, are you two a couple now?" you thought that that day would be quiet, but yuna had other plans for you.
"what are you talking about?" you complained, still sleepy on your body.
"don't look at me like that, a few weeks ago I could have sworn you guys were about to kill each other but now you're close together, what with the "you're doing it wrong, let me help you" bullshit just to hold your waist? because you were doing it perfect." she couldn't believe it.
"stop saying nonsense, i guess he just feel bad cause he can't skate at the olympics now, he's just helping me."
yuna rolled her eyes "if you say so."
she walks away leaving you alone with your thoughts, and you didn't like the feeling in your stomach.
despite having refused his proposal about 10 times, sunghoon ended up convincing you and whenever he could he helped you although it wasn't much since you were good enough at what you did, you had been spending time together at the ice rink for several days and surprisingly you didn't insult each other even once. or well, he hadn't insulted you because you had already lost count of the things you said to him for purposely tripping you up a couple of times. and now you find yourself enjoying his company, something you never thought was possible before, you two were still very different but you had found a way to be together without bumping into each other so much and it was through skating, both of you loved it so much that you began to get along little by little just because of that.
"you're fine, I know you'll be able to do it perfectly there, just try not to do the quad axel." If you had been told a few months ago that you would be laughing with sunghoon today while sharing a drink he bought for you, you would have laughed on their faces as loud as ever.
leaving that aside, you noticed him a little more discouraged than usual today, there were times when you saw him totally immersed in his thoughts or you had to repeat things twice when you spoke to him "is something wrong? I notice that you're distracted."
"I'm just thinking about you." you almost choked on the bottle of soda you were drinking, your stomach started to feel weird and your breathing was ragged.
"what?" you turned your face while touching your cheeks, noticing that they were hot, it was embarrassing and he just laughs.
"I'm sorry, what I mean is that- I'm really sorry" he looks into your eyes intensely and your whole body trembles at that, you've never seen so much shine in them "I'm really, really sorry... for everything. especially the day i got injured, this means everything to me and i was terrified that i would never be able to skate again because of my own stupidity, for being so stubborn and not listening to others, also because i had never hurt myself before and at that moment I could feel how my ankle was separating from my whole body, this injury scared the hell out of me." the crack in his voice reaches in and squeezes your heart so tight you can feel your eyes tearing up "you were right in all things what did you say, that I'm a heartless egoist who never thinks about what he says and I'm hurting the people around me-"
it was the second time you saw him cry.
"I didn't mean that." you blink the tears away as fast as they appeared, seeing sunghoon in that state and remembering all bothered you more than you liked to admit. before you might have enjoyed it but now it was different.
and it was the first time you cried in front of him.
"okay, I know I deserved it anyway," his eyes were now focused on the floor "I was just- I was trying to be the best but I realized quite late that that wasn't the way and everything I told you during years was really horrible and I'm sorry you had to endure all that, if I were you I would have hit myself several times already." he chuckled.
"i really wanted to," you hit him with your shoulder playfully "but I'm sorry too, I said horrible things to you."
"don't worry about me, I don't even know why I behaved like this for so long and I wish I could have seen how stupid I was much earlier." he moved his hand close to yours, wanting to take it in his but finally he ended up putting it in his pocket "I realized that skating means a lot to you too. maybe we're not so different after all." he looked at your face again with a smile on his face.
"maybe you're right, I mean, look at us now talking normally as if nothing happened."
"yeah but I don't want this to come to nothing, I really want you to forgive me." your heart jumped out of your chest "I was scared that you were so much better than me because I really think you could easily defeat me because of how much you try every day, even much more than me, the things I did and said to make you feel bad so that you stop skating are unjustified, but now I want to do things right and I hope we can start again." he sounded so sorry that he was really making it hard for you to hold a grudge.
"there were many years that we argued for nothing and you're not the only one to blame, you were ten times worse with me but I cannot hold a grudge or hate you all my life," he lifted his head with hope in his eyes waiting for you to keep talking "I think we're fine."
"thank you." his smile was accomplishing things inside of you, and you didn't like it "also, uh- I could see what a wonderful person you are and I was surprised that you treated me well after all, I was waiting for you to spit on me when you saw me or something like that," you raised your eyebrow wanting to really hit him this time "and I saw this as my chance to make things right."
"don't lie to me now, it was your mom that changed your mind so suddenly, right?" he burst out laughing, only to end up leaning his head against the wall staring up at the ceiling.
"maybe she played a big role in that." you couldn't take your eyes off his profile "you're a really good skater and i'll tell you all the time if need be in order to erase the bad things i said before and that probably are still in your head."
"what do you mean?"
"you don't need to pretend with me now, I can tell those little insecurities you have when you're on the ice." you wanted to get out of that place as fast as possible, you didn't think you were so obvious about it and sunghoon noticing made things worse.
he noticed that but he couldn't do anything else besides give you a smile, you simply remained silent with your eyes closed enjoying the silence and thanking that it wasn't uncomfortable like previous times, now both were a little more comfortable with each other's presence.
you needed to hear those words, you needed to feel that relief, as if the weight you had been feeling on your back all this time stopped squeezing your wounds, letting them heal.
if it wasn't for mr. choi who burst in, you both would have fallen asleep.
â
it was finally the day.
and there you were, at the winter olympics with your suit on waiting for your turn which was at any moment. you felt like throwing up since you took the plane to here and days had passed since that, your body was shakingâyou could feel your blood flow through your veins and you were sure that at any moment you would pass out before entering the ice rink, mr. choi had been by your side the whole time trying to calm you down but your heart seemed to want to explode and you just wanted to dig your nails into your skin like a cat.
you kept going around and you were already making everyone around you nervous. you were so focused fixing your suit making sure there was no mistake that you almost didn't hear the sound of your phone, it was a call. and it was from sunghoon.
you pick it up quickly "hey." his voice sounded so calm in your ears that he helped you let out a sigh you didn't even know you were holding.
"hey." you noticed how even your voice trembled.
"I can feel from here how nervous you are," his laugh cleared your thoughts "relax, I know you can handle this and it will be great."
you bit your lip, not knowing very well what to say "thank you sunghoon, but if you were with me right now I would have already pulled your hair out to calm myself." his loud laugh forced you to move the phone away from your ear.
"you're so lucky, you're there with my biggest idol and you're wasting your time being nervous," you let out a sigh, silently thanked him for calling you and speaking to you so normally, maybe you'd even ask for an autograph to thank him properly. you talked for a while about a butterfly that had entered sunghoon's room the other day until mr. choi called you to get ready "I don't want to take up any more of your time but i want you to know that you don't have to prove anything to anyone, everything will be fine considering that you had the best coach," you smiled at that "you have the strength and talent to win all the medals in the world, good luck."
he hung up without letting you say anything and you could swear that a second before you heard him blow a kiss. but maybe it was just your imagination.
but sunghoon was right, you had worked hard day and night for this moment and would do your best. you were fulfilling your dream, and you were going to win that medal.
"what did sunghoon say to you to make you blush like this?" mr. choi teased you, you hadn't noticed how hot your cheeks felt until he pointed it out.
he had been very sweet to you and you couldn't help it. but quickly any thoughts left your head, you were ready to compete.
â
"congratulations! I knew you would make it."
arms around your waist were the first thing you felt when you opened your door in the middle of the night, sunghoon's hug was already leaving you breathless, besides you felt dizzy from the sudden warmth of his body against yours, which was still cold and tired, then he lifts you off the ground causing you to hold on tight to him as he spun you around in the air.
his laughter had lit up the night along with the stars and the sound of crickets in the background, when he left you on the ground and walked away from your body you couldn't help but watch him carefully, you had spent several days without seeing him after spending practically 24 hours together and only now did you realize how beautiful he was.
"thank you sunghoon," his smile really made your day so much better "why are you here?"
"well, you just arrived and I definitely had to be the first to congratulate you in person when I already sent you thousands of messages" his hand never let go of his waist "besides mr. choi obviously."
so pretty.
you never got to see his features as closely as now, but he really looked like a dream, now you could understand those girls on your team who never stopped talking about him, it had only been you who was clouded by the hatred that you felt that you never saw beyond his attitudes with you.
"my parents really wanted to see you today," his voice was full of emotion and you could feel how some tears wanted to come out of your eyes, not even your parents were there with you but you had all the support of his "but it's too late, they still want you to know that you did amazing and that you deserve it."
"that's so sweet," you ran your hand over his arm that was still holding you "tell them thanks for me, maybe I'll visit them again one of these days."
"they would love that."
you were both silent for a while, it wasn't annoying but you really wanted to talk to him more but nothing wanted to come out of your mouth.
"i think i should-"
"hey." he stopped any movement tightening his grip, he had been scared to see how you wanted to go back into your house.
"what's the matter?"
"uh, nothing, I..." he fills his other hand up to his neck scratching it "I'm really proud of you."
you giggled seeing him so nervous, giving compliments was still a bit difficult for him "thank you sunghoon, to be honest I never thought I'd hear that from you."
"but I'm serious, all those times I told you that you didn't know how to skate or that you did it wrong were a complete lie, you did it perfectly and I-"
"hey, it's okay," you caressed his arm looking for him to look you in the eye "you already apologized before, you don't need to do it again."
"okay," now he was so restless that with his movements he hit your shoulder lightly "I can't believe we spent years doing this stupid thing for nothing."
you both laugh and remain silent looking at each other under the moonlight. you felt the change in the air and now there was a different sparkle in his eyes that told you so many things you were terrified to take in.
sunghoon never knew when it happened but your existence began to weigh less and less on his head, you were still on his mind but now it was very different, he began to feel different every time he was with you and he was surprised to know that you weren't someone else completely different and you were the same girl he spent "hating" for years. was it really hate? he never believed that but he could never close his mouth when he saw you do something wrong, maybe he liked seeing you angry or seeing how you failed because after all you were the only competition he had.
his heart didn't lie but he was scared as hell of how things could turn out, he even talked to his mother about it but now he was questioning if it had been a good idea. he never fell in love, hell he hadn't even been as interested in a person as he does with you, the constant need he felt to want to help you improve and be with you all the time was beginning to be annoying for him. so many years alone and now his foolish heart wants to merge with yours? it was ridiculous.
but he liked it.
all these new sensations made him feel like a totally new person who was just discovering the world despite having lived 19 years. everything had been so gray for him that he was overwhelmed to see that there were millions of colors out there that he had refused to see.
suddenly sunghoon gets closer to your body, his fingers caress your cheek and your body begins to fail "what are you doing?"
"actually I have something else to tell you," you were scared by your heartbeat that didn't seem to want to control itself "I can't keep it anymore but I think- I think I like you."
time stops for a few seconds, your eyes open wide not believing what you just heard, you don't move or say anything and sunghoon thinks maybe he made a mistake, he wanted to speak again to apologize but you walk away from him, as if his touch burned you.
"I'm sorry I have to go." you closed the door in his face.
and sunghoon thought that he did everything wrong, that after all your wounds were still open and he had no right to have done that, that contrary to your words maybe your heart hadn't completely forgiven him. he wished he had cleaned his mouth with soap.
the overwhelming wave of feelings that hit you felt like a tsunami, and you were drowning.
â
you haven't seen sunghoon since then and your mind was a complete mess.
it was absurd that no matter what the reason was, he was always circulating your thoughts without letting you rest even for a single day.
"who are you waiting for?" yuna touched your shoulder surprising you.
"no one, why?"
"well you've been looking at the door for like ten minutes." you turned your whole body only to be in front of her with a marked expression of confusion on your face.
"no I wasn't."
"yeah you were," she just laughs "never mind, i guess you must have a lot on your mind right now." her raised eyebrows made you suspicious of her words.
"what do you mean?"
"don't play dumb, you know perfectly well what I'm talking about," you just looked to the side avoiding her face, you didn't want to think about it "did something happen between you two? you used to be together all the time and now I haven't seen him for several days around here although his ankle was already good enough to return his training."
you played with your fingers, scared to answer, scared of your feelings "I don't know."
she was silent looking at you with her eyes narrowed "you know that with that answer you already told me everything I needed to know, right?" your cheeks burned in an instant "it always bothered you that sunghoon was someone so stubborn, but you don't realize that you're almost the same." her finger lightly tapped your forehead for you to see and stop hiding.
"we are not the same." you wrinkled your nose, wanting to end that conversation.
"oh of course not dear, I've known you both for years and I could even say that you are opposite. but ones that attract each other." she smiled seeing your expression "and both are equally oblivion with your feelings."
she got up grabbing her things, you looked quickly and everyone was ready to go to her house "yuna!"
"bye!" she quickly advanced her steps to the exit, it was impossible to stop her.
what was she referring to? you let out a groan, you already had too much on your mind for her to confuse you even more.
could you really like him? you kept thinking that, just a few months ago you hated each other to death, was it possible to have those feelings now? It was ridiculous whichever way you looked at it.
"haven't you left yet? great," mr. choi sat next to you, preventing you from thinking "i need you to practice with sunghoon, it's just to help him and control him with his ankle, I don't want him to do anything risky."
you frowned visibly annoyed "what am I now? his babysitter?" seeing his expression made you regret your words "I'm sorry but everyone is already leaving and besides, shouldn't you be the one to help him with that?"
"oh come on, don't act like you never stayed up late practicing, it won't take long." he really didn't need to tell you anything else because you would do it anyway.
â
the air is sharp to breathe and there you were, again wrapped in that awkward silence.
which you had not missed at all.
"are you ready?" he doesn't even look you in the eye, but neither can you.
he entered the ice rink without saying anything, the music began to play and as soon as his body moved you couldn't take your eyes off him at any time, he became one with the music, he paid attention and dedication to every little thing detail and that was what made his presentations truly unique.
"try to slow down." still he was pushing himself too hard, and you didn't want his ankle to heal badly or worst case he hurt again.
when he finished he moved closer to your body, scared that he wanted to talk about that night, but also afraid that he would ignore you. but not a single word left his mouth, he just stood there in front of you looking at your face and then opened his arms, waiting for you to do something.
you shifted your gaze from his arms to his face a few times and your body turned on its own, enveloping him in a warm embrace. your arms find their place in him and your face seeks comfort in the space of his neck, you feel in heaven when he tries to wrap you around his whole body leaving not a single inch between you "can we skate together? it feels lonely."
both weren't even skating like you should, just spinning around nonstop while your arms constantly searched for your bodies not wanting to be even a second apart, it was as if you needed each other's warmth to live or else the ice below would consume you.
your body was at peace but at the same time full of nerves and doubts, had it been a mistake not to say anything at that moment and close the door in his face? why didn't he push you away after you behaved that way? you didn't know but you don't want the answer either, you didn't want to think about what would become of you if he just disappeared from your life, he was always there no matter if you couldn't stand each other before. he will always be a part of your life.
"actually I asked mr. choi to do this," you moved your head away from his chest, looking at him confused "I almost had to beg him to tell you to stay a little longer and let us be alone."
"why did you do it?"
his face came closer to yours "because I missed you." his breathing mixed with yours and you no longer thought you would be able to stay calm "besides because the last time I saw you you seemed to hate me again."
you hid your face again only to hit his chest, he didn't make a sound and the rage you had inside you made you hit him again and again and again. but he never pushed you away, his hands were still firm on your body, he knew he deserved it.
"you can't do this to me," you tried not to shed a single tear "saying that to me after everything you've put me through? it's not fair."
"I'm sorry."
"I know. I know you are and I hate you for it." when you stopped beating him sunghoon could only hug you tightly letting you sob into his shirt "I hate you for making me forgive you so easily despite everything."
"I'm really sorry." hearing sunghoon apologize had already become normal "it was my fault for saying that to you so out of the blue and thinking that you would reciprocate my feelings after everything I did to you, I-"
you cut him off with a kiss.
a shiver ran through your whole body, you had never felt your heart beat so fast to the point that it was the only thing you could feel, but the touch of his lips made you feel more alive than ever.
his lips were soft as winter, like snow that melted under your warm touch.
it was just like when the sun melts the ice.
"but above all I hate myself for reciprocating your feelings." sunghoon's soul returned to his body upon hearing those words, you can't help but smile as you see how the panic in his eyes fades.
"god you scared the hell out of me," his fingers wiped your tears gently "my crybaby," you laughed at that old nickname "since I started being with you more I could feel my heart beating faster whenever I was near you, look." he holds your hand to put it on his chest so you can feel his heartbeat "I feel so stupid for everything I did before."
you realize that back then you were drowning because you didn't swim far enough, but now you could breathe.
maybe liking him wasn't such a bad thing.
"as you should." you were silent for a while just feeling each other's heartbeat "i shouldn't have closed the door on you that day." he couldn't stop looking at your face fondly, his gaze drifting to your lips most of the time.
sunghoon took a deep breath "don't worry about it," he practically whispered on your lips, wanting another kiss "I like you a lot. I was so scared of losing you."
he closed his eyes letting his forehead rest against yours "I like you a lot too, I think I just needed time to think, I'm sorry."
"stop apologizing, just please let me kiss you again and again and again."
It was such an intimate moment, as if you were in your own bubble away from everyone and just showing each other affection.
none of you stopped until you were forced to pull away from lack of air "you made me see a lot of things differently." he brushed your hair behind your ear, caressing your cheek with the tip of his thumb.
you really noticed, sunghoon had changed a lot in such a short time to how he was just a few months ago, but you always thought it was because of his injury that had restricted many things, you never thought it was because of you. before he was cold and rarely smiled, he was alone most of the time and seemed not to want to make friends, he just concentrated on skating. but now it was as if he were a different person although deep down he was still him. the same sunghoon who pouted, didn't speak, and turned away from everyone when he was upset, the introverted but noisy boy who always made mr. choi laugh with his jokes, who worked hard everyday to be the best, the same sunghoon who always loved dearly. you laughed at yourself, you used to think he had no heart when in fact he has the biggest of all.
who would have thought that sunghoon was this loving? all the time wanting to be glued to you.
"you know, maybe I've won a lot of medals in the past, and all of them being better than you," you wanted to hit him for making fun of you at that moment "but nothing compares to you." he gives you a little peak "you are the most precious thing I've ever gained in all my life."
you laugh, running your hands over his neck "gained?" you gently tugged at his hair as you brought your face close to his lips, teasing him.
"just kiss me already."
and you did, enjoying the moment wishing it would never end and wishing your heart felt like this forever, more alive than ever.
"can i ask you out on a date?" god, you would never get tired of looking at his eyes and his moles.
"only if you don't slam doors in my face." he laughs, only for you to shut him up with another kiss, and another, and another.
"deal."

Park Sunghoon hated the way you stared at Lee Heeseung as he played football outside. You were both fashion students, and you were both seated beside one another at the only available window in the classroom. You found it the perfect chance to ogle the famed and extremely handsome sports major.
Sunghoon grabbed the edge of your chair and pulled you closer to him, further away from the window. He scowled. He had been waiting years for you to look at him that way, but you never spared him a second glance half the time.
Or so he thought.
In the dark of movie theatres, or between gaps in conversations where he gave another one of your friends his full attention to discuss their opinionsâthat was when you stared at him in the same way, if not with more burning passion behind your eyes.
You turned your head rapidly to stare at Sunghoon with a glare at the sudden movement, but he kept his head forward as if he was laser focused on every word your tutor said. You couldnât help but admire how beautiful he looked, especially since he had dyed his hair back to its original colour as of recent weeks.
You bit the inside of your cheek. No, you refused to think about Sunghoon out of all people in that way. He was⊠Sunghoon. Sweet, kind, friendly Sunghoon. But you did think about him that way. When your hand slipped down your body at night, it was his name you chanted in your mind like a mantra.
âStop staring at me,â He whispered through gritted teeth. Your cheeks burned hot to the touch at his words of catching you out, and you wanted to reach a hand out to slap him.
âMe? Staring? At you?â You scoffed, but the waver in your voice gave you away. âAs if. In your dreams, Park,â You snapped, Sunghoon finally turning his head to look into your eyes.
âBaby, trust me, you donât want to know what I do to you in my dreams,â He sounded serious, not even a lift of a corner of his lips.
You felt your body get impossibly hotter if you even thought that human feasible, only just realising how close your faces were due to his previous actions on your chair when you felt his breath fan your face. You gasped and snapped your head to the front of the class, acting as if you had been paying attention the whole time.
Sunghoonâs lip finally turned up at the corner into a smirk, turning his own head to watch the tutor while his arm rested lazily over the back of your chair.

âStand still,â Sunghoon snapped, his hand slapping your thigh lightly. You groaned and tried not to wiggle, but you felt like your legs were becoming jelly.
âHow much longer do I have to stand here?â You asked, staring down at him as he tried to pin the two pieces of material together. He reached the bottom of your leg and then nodded, pushing back on his swivel chair to admire his work in full.
You couldnât help but notice though that even over the fabric, you felt his touch linger as if it broke his heart to pull away from you. You tried to compose yourself the best you could. You couldnât give into your intrusive thoughts, not when you werenât sure about his feelings for you.
Sunghoon stared at the two toned pants, chewing the pen in his hand before he let out a loud, long sigh. You groaned at his response, holding onto the wall beside you for dear life. âThey look fine, for fuck sake, please get this off me so I can sit down. This has been going on for hours.â
Sunghoon stared up at you, his eyes a little hard. âIf your legs give in this easy from just standing in place, then how will you handle having sex? Bet youâre the type to get cramp after a minute or something.â
You slapped the top of his head, Sunghoon yelling out a âheyâ in response. His hands grabbed the backs of your thighs, his chin coming to rest on your stomach. You stared down at him, butterflies erupting in your stomach.
âWhat was that for?â He asked, his lips pouted.
âThat was for insulting my stamina, asshole,â You snapped, but the smile you made betrayed your faux anger.
Sunghoon nuzzled his chin more into you, lazily smiling as his hands rubbed the backs of your thighs. âShall we get out of these. Maybe then you can show me just how much stamina you actually have?â
âIs that a dare?â You asked, your hand coming down to push the fallen hair back out of his face.
Sunghoon shook his head. He hummed, and turned his head to one side. âSee it as a confession of sorts. Not a proper one, obviously. I need to prepare better for that.â
âA confession?â You choked out, letting out a huff of a breathy laugh. âDonât joke with me like that Sunghoon.â
His smile dropped, his face serious. His fingers dug a little too hard into the backs of your thighs. âDo I look like Iâm joking?â
You sucked in a breath, trying to squirm away from Sunghoon. You almost fell backwards off the black wooden box he situated you on, but his hands were swift to protect you from any harm.
He said no more as he pulled his body away from yours, his delicate fingers pulling out the pins and placing them in a cushion beside him. Once the whole front side was separated from the back, the material fell from your legs in a puddle and you felt exposed, vulnerable.
Being the gentleman he was, Sunghoon turned away from you and for extra measure, he closed his eyes. You could see it all in the mirror situated before you both. You bit the inside of your cheek, deciding it best to shoot your shot now only to be told it was a joke rather than wait and get rejected later on.
You climbed off the box and made your way to his chair, walking around. You rest your hands on his shoulders and straddled is lap. Still, he kept his eyes closed.
âYou can open your eyes,â You whispered.
In an instant, they flickered opened. You felt your heart beat rise, and his fingers ghosted over your hips. You wanted to sit down further against him, wrap your arms around his neck and kiss his plush lips.
But could you really cross that boundary? Risk your friendship that way?
A part of you begged to cross the boundary, while another feared losing him.
You listened to the former thoughts finding the risks outweighing the fear of him finding someone else.
Your hands moved from his shoulders to gently hold his jaw, your eyes locked in on his lips. You parted yours, begging for him to touch you, show you somehow it was okay for you to be like this with him.
âWhat are you doing, my pretty girl? Tell me whatâs going on in that pretty head of yours,â He asked, gulping ever so slightly. His hands had the opposite reaction, they acted confident as his thumbs rubbed at your bare skin just under the hem of your shirt.
You shifted on his lap and mumbled, âI donât like Heeseung. Heâs hot, sure, but⊠I donât like him,â You mumbled, one of your hands moving around his head to his hair. Your fingers gently raked his scalp, Sunghoon closing his eyes and humming in response.
âAnd who do you like?â He asked quietly, his hands squeezing your sides ever so slightly.
You lead down enough so your lips could ghost over his, joking, âThat actor Lee Jongsuk.â
Sunghoonâs eyes flew open, his stare hard. He moved his hands to your ass, gripping roughly as he held onto you and stood from the chair. âI dare you to say that again.â
You hummed, smirking. âAw, is my little baby Sunghoon scared of losing me?â
Sunghoon scoffed and rolled his eyes. âDonât test me, pretty girl. Iâm only going easy on you because youâre not officially mine. The second you admit youâre madly in love with me, your ass is going to be on fire from my spanking because youâre being a little brat.â
You giggled and pecked his lips, pulling away. At first, he tried to chase after your lips, but you stopped himself. âSay it, tell me youâre mine.â
You faux pouted, pressing your pout against his lips for a brief second once again. âWhy donât you want to share me?â
âBecause I donât like to share whatâs mine,â He stated a little too harsh, causing you to rush out a babble of promises that it was him you liked, and you belonged to him only alongside a mess of a confession about your true feelings for him.
Sunghoon smirked, one of his hands landing a soft spank on your ass. âGood girl,â He compliment before he navigated his way to the other side of his room to rest you on his bed. He instantly slotted himself between your legs, pressing his crotch hard against yours. His sweatpants were the thin kind, causing you to feel the curves of his cock pressed into the thin material of your underwear.
He teasingly ground into you, smirking as his lips ghosted over yours. âFuck,â You whispered, your lips chasing after his but he just pulled back. âDonât tease me, please,â you pouted.
Sunghoon didnât want to give in, he for sure wanted to fuck you as hard as he could so he was engraved in your brain, in your veins. But he wanted to also show you just how much he could treat you better, make you feel real good. So he decided not to go for the rough routeâŠ
For that night at least.
Sunghoon pecked your lips several times before he finally fully pressed his lips to yours, moving slowly. The kiss was sweet, gentle, and full of hidden love. Sunghoon parted his lips into the kiss, his tongue playfully poking at your bottom lip. His hips ground into yours, trying to elicit a pretty moan from you.
As if right on cue, you made the sound he was dying to hear. He rest his head in your neck, muttering more so to himself. âIâm fuckedâŠâ
