30-Day Video Game Music Challenge (Super Hard Mode) Day 8: Music from a shooter (first or third person) From Border Down (Dreamcast, 2003)
I’m glad lots of people chose shmups for this prompt. There’s so many good soundtracks to choose from, and I’ve got more coming.

30-Day Video Game Music Challenge (Super Hard Mode) Day 13: Music you like from a game you don’t like From Viewpoint (Neo Geo, 1992)
Viewpoint was a strange experiment. The sampled drum loops were ahead of their time, but isometric perspective never worked for shmups.

In the PlayStation 2 era, I spent thousands of hours playing the Tony Hawk games online and making levels and videos. We’d get out of bounds and explore behind the scenes, and sometimes find the developers left some easter eggs for us. Oddheader has compiled the community’s findings into one epic 24-minute video that takes us through Neversoft’s entire run with the series.
The transition from WordPress to Tumblr is about 75% complete. 108 WordPress posts became 120 Tumblr posts (20 are Tumblr reblogs). I lose the mouseover text on images, Twitter embeds, and email updates, but most things work and I’ve fixed about a dozen broken links.

For the past four years, I've been doing a weekly Twitch stream where I attack a game in my backlog. If I pick the game and fail to finish it in reasonable time, my viewers get to pick next week's game as punishment. That happened tonight.
This time, I've put up a poll with five games my friends and Skype chatters want to make me play. Whatever wins this poll is the game I will run next Tuesday at 10pm EDT. This poll is open to everyone. Here are your choices:
Amnesia: The Dark Descent (PC) Megaman X6 (PS2) My Little Pony Crystal Princess: The Runaway Rainbow (GBA) Redneck Rampage (PC) Kick Master (NES)
I must have seen this screen a hundred times.

Time for another dual-monitor desktop wallpaper with a lot going on. pixiv artist John Hathway puts on some Susumu Hirasawa music and draws Mahocho, a vertical city of magic users that use flying brooms, rockets, and jetpacks to get around. The scale is so big you need a fisheye lens to see it all.
Oh, speaking of witches and brooms, this Wednesday on my weekly Instagib stream I’ll be playing the super rare Magical Chase, emulated of course.
This was actually my wallpaper back in August but I saved this post until Halloween time. Is that bad?

Pro wrestling is good dumb fun, but it's hard work. It's easy for someone to do a move wrong, receive a move wrong, say something wrong, or have a table fail to cooperate. Those mistakes are called botches, and Botchamania is a highlight reel of botches. It's about the only wrestling I watch anymore.
Botchamania has to bounce around to different hosts due to copyright claims. Maffew's feed is the best way to get new Botchamanias as they're uploaded. If this video breaks, let me know and I'll find it again.
I like to keep this blog work safe, but Botchamania contains some NSFW language.

Anime Hell brought the pain to Ohayocon again this weekend and, like I promised, I took notes. Most of their Japanese TV commercials this year came from the same source: JPCMHD’s Very Best of 2015 compilation. Just put this on in front of a room full of friends and soak it in.

This is the very best from 2015. Hope you guys enjooooy! (^_^)–b
It’s 2015; where are our flying cars? In his search for flying cars, James May visited Spruce Creek, Florida. This village treats airplanes like cars, parked in garages and taxied right down the street to the local runway. If every town was this well adapted to small planes, we’d all be flying from place to place, right?
By the way, my Friday night stream has moved to Hitbox! I’m attacking games like Super Back to the Future II, Panorama Cotton, and Sayonara Umihara Kawase, so stop by and chat!
