reminder for writers, if your character is missing an eye or can see only through one, sometimes, their depth perception is off and the thing that looked right in front of them was further off or vise versa

i have a harry potter theory that "marauders" wasn't what james, peter, remus and sirius called themselves but 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘱 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳.

AND there is 𝘯𝘰 way that filch just happened to confiscate the map off them, no no. they 𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘵 the map for future pranksters, because what the hell were they supposed to do with a map for a place they are not returning to.

of course, they might've called themselves the marauders too, but we have no proof they did, we only know that it's the name of the map, the map that guided them through pranks and would-be detentions.
