In 2019, A Strange Little Pink House Appeared Right On The Top Of The Historical Plant Of The Canada

In 2019, a strange little pink house appeared right on the top of the historical plant of the Canada Malting Silos, built in 1905 and abandoned in 1986. The unknown authors brought the material to an height of about 35 meters to build this absolutely unique thing and added later other pieces to their creation, like a Christmas three, a gift and other decorations.

I think I have never seen anything like this in hundreds of explorations in abandoned places!

Somewhere out there on a planet very far away is a civilization that has included our sun in a beloved constellation of some animal we couldn't dream up if we tried

my estimation is that the reason the calls for global strike tomorrow (dec 12th) seem uncoordinated is because they're coming from inside palestine and were shared by palestinians inside palestine instead of being organized independently by each country. they seem most focused within the west bank and jordan.

My Estimation Is That The Reason The Calls For Global Strike Tomorrow (dec 12th) Seem Uncoordinated Is

however, we've seen a lot of people worldwide take up this call and several organizers within the US and other countries do it in their own way. one of the primary asks is to just disrupt the global market. if you can't call in sick and must go to work, then don't use your credit card tomorrow. some have said don't log into facebook and instagram—sure. that too. if you can participate in protests after work instead, do that. if you are not an essential worker, if you can shut down a store, and bookstore, if you have a small business, make sure to let people know you are not working because you are striking for palestine. if you're a student and you can, don't go to class. if you're a teacher and you can, call in sick. if you have exams (as many do) you can just refrain from buying anything, join a protest after, or share the boycott news. one student not showing up may not do much—three students not showing up reminds people that there's a strike. talking about it, even if you won't participate in it, helps. talking about it, even just to say "oh there's supposed to be a strike today" helps.

it is a flexible form of disruption. the priority is disrupting businesses and the flow of commerce, so more than not going to work, not using your credit card is far more important.

consider this a trial run in disruption on behalf of those inside palestine. yes bigger and more organized global strikes that can coordinate with local groups are needed. but small chain reactions like this also create disruption, increase pressure, and remind people that the genocide is on-going. they also build up to bigger and more sustained strikes.

My Father Was Martyred By Israel On 10 October 2023 After Sacrificing His Care In Hospital So The Injured

My father was martyred by Israel on 10 October 2023 after sacrificing his care in hospital so the injured children could take priority. Today would have been his 60th birthday. He was always selfless, kind, and giving for others. My father gave up everything for me to be able to have a better life, because that is what he always dreamed for me and my sister. The world suffered a great loss when he died, and my heart is always with him and every Palestinian who has lost someone.

In his honour and memory, I would love for anyone who is able to do so to consider donating to The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

The PCRF is an amazing organisation that does so much for those in Gaza right now, including helping provide food, water and medicine. You can donate any amount you are able to- there is no minimum! My father would have given his very last cent if he saw the way Palestine was continuing to suffer after over 100 days with this limited aid, so I know celebrating him by helping others is the least he would have wanted.

I saw @parrot-parent do a very successful donation match and I thought it was such a good idea so I will also match all donations up to $500! If you feel comfortable sending me proof of the amount of your donation, I will match it as a donation at the end of February. (My messages are set to mutuals only, but if you donate and we aren’t mutuals if you send an ask with the proof I will make sure to answer it privately.)

I have seen posts on Palestine get thousands on thousands of notes. If each person who engaged with them donated one dollar—literally just one; no more, no less—thousands of dollars would be raised to humanitarian aid in Gaza just like that. I understand there’s the whole bystander effect going on. People are probably like “Well there’s likely someone out there donating right now, so they can probably do without my one puny dollar” wrong. One dollar makes a huge difference. Any amount you can afford can make a huge difference.

I’m not going to say every single person on here can afford to give up a dollar, because that’s absolutely insensitive to people’s individual situations—but if you can, please donate. So many of us on here aren’t swimming in money, but we still make it a point to donate, regardless of how little or how big a sum it is. I promise it adds up.

The PCRF could use every last penny. Don’t be a bystander in a world of bystanders. It matters.
