It’s that time of the year again! This is a long post that’s gonna get very reblogged, so I’ll keep it short.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Follow me! (duh)
Likes and reblogs count as entries, but they’re limited to FIVE REBLOGS PER DAY. (I WILL check)
You must be at least 18 years old, no exceptions. The prizes can be transferred to minors, however, with the permission of a parent or guardian.
Side blogs are allowed to enter, and there’s no need to tag your main (here’s to you, closeted witches!) but if you end up winning, you’ll have to tell me your main when I contact you to see if you’re following me! GIVEAWAY BLOGS AREN’T ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE.
People who have purchased/purchase my services from my shop (as well as those in the waiting list) have an extra entry as a thank you for your support!
Do NOT tag this as giveaway!
There will be five prizes. Each will be drawn as I hit a new milestone. Fifth place when I reach 6,000 followers, fourth for the 7,000, third for the 8,000, and both the second and first for the 10,000.
The winners will be randomly selected with random.org and contacted via PM, comment, and/or tag, depending on how long they take to respond. If they don’t answer to reclaim their prize within 120 hours (5 days) of being drawn, a new winner will be selected in their place. So please make sure I have a way of contacting you.
For the main two prizes, I’ll need an address I can ship the goodies to. If you can’t/don’t want to receive the package and wish to trade your prize for an intangible one, that’s perfectly doable!

The thought of your future, especially when you struggle with mental illness, can be a scary thing. I remember feeling like I’d never make it to college, that I’d never make it out of high school, and if I did, I’d certainly never be able to survive college.
Let me tell you, I not only survived high school, but I got into the college of my dreams, and I am surviving here too. College can actually be so much better than high school in terms of accommodations for mental illness. I’ve got an adviser that helps me by getting me extended time on tests or excused absences or things as simple as letting me pet his therapy dog.
College isn’t necessarily for everyone, but don’t let your mental illness deter you from following your dreams, and don’t assume that college will be as unforgiving to your illness as high school can be sometimes. And if I can survive high school, then you certainly can! I believe in you! YOU CAN DO THIS! :D
Excited to finally be using the #bulletjournal system again in 2018! This is my study plan for the upcoming week, well, at least part of it. . As anyone has been saying: how are we so close to 2018? Can’t believe school starts in about ten days (O∆O). I hope everyone has had a wonderful and relaxing summer (*´ェ`*) !! You don’t have to worry about being productive because the point of holidays is to relax and I hope you feel fulfilled and full of energy for the school year!!
One of my close friends on Tumblr offered to give me information on Art/design universities and today she sent me a list of US ones and I’m so so so grateful and amazed at her kindness!! Also, I finally took a look at the SAT practice questions.

My notes aren’t as nice as other people on here, but whatever they’re good and very extensive. Next week, I might be starting the 100 days of productivity!!
If you struggle with anxiety, overwhelm, or just plain feeling like a failure, I have a mantra for you that’s been really helping me out lately:
Just show up.
I used to skip class because the whole thing was so overwhelming: I had to get dressed in something clean even though I never had the energy to do laundry, walk to school, sit in class for up to three hours, plus pay attention, take notes, and participate in discussion. In reality, I was being a perfectionist, and life would have been a lot easier for me if I had Just Shown Up. By staying home because of my depression and anxiety, I wasn’t giving myself the chance to do any of that. I was such a perfectionist that being a “bad” or average student was unthinkable, so I stopped being a student at all.
If you’re having trouble getting something done, Just Show Up. You don’t have to be employee of the month. You don’t have to be valedictorian. Just Show Up.
*cue Charlie Brown soundtrack of kids cheering*
There’s your science for the day. Go try it out for yourself!
*UPDATED* in the final picture of the original post, I made the mistake of saying “light as a particle” - I should have repeated the initial description (which is now fixed): the effect is from light passing through a single slit and diffracting, which is more accurate to what is being observed, because each bulb is a “point-source of light.” While the general scientific consensus is that light does indeed have particle properties, this single slit experiment is not a true depictor of those properties. While fewer photons do indeed get through, diffraction still (faintly) occurs between the lines. It’s the double slit experiment where things get REALLY weird, though.
When to use flash cards: memorizing words/vocab, numbers, equations, names, dates, and verbatim facts or lines.
When to use mnemonic devices: memorizing steps of a process or sets of facts/information/people, especially in an order.
When to use concept maps or drawings: learning (rather than memorizing) relationships, processes, concepts, systems, etc.
When to use tables or charts: learning or memorizing systems (eg. conjugation in a foreign language), sets of sets of information (eg. people and when they lived and what they did), and other large/complex groups of information.
When to use songs: for learning or memorizing anything.
Disclaimer: this is a general guideline. If something else works for you, do it!
