and in India, the kids get shot down if they can’t write in cursive, do basic maths etc. by upper kindergarten
and when you start going to higher grades, high priority is given to maths and the sciences...and if you don't take those subjects for further studies in the last years of schooling, you are condemned by everyone...then become an doctor or an engineer.
You are taught from the beginning that you will become a looser if you dont learn English and excel in it. We are not taught skills and are only made to be focused on subjective studies.
And if by chance you survive the rote learning in school, you have to get into a college where you will be facing to the reservation system...it helps the minority communities but in the general category you are subjected to a full frontal war.
My 7 year old son was shot down by his 1st grade teacher
Once upon a time when i was in elementary school, a girl and i were taking turns and sharing the same racquet while playing badminton.
When it was her chance to play, she washed the racquet in front of me as she was to disgusted to use a thing that i had touched just because i had leucoderma.
This is my entry for Day 3 of @ruspruweek. ‘Bandage’ and ‘Touch’ are the prompts used. Set in 1962 Cold War era. Also Vlad (Romania) shows up for a hot second. Hope you guys like it! 🩹💕

The occasional scratch of his cheek was a common tell, but when his stress was particularly high, the scratching turned to deep clawing that was concentrated on his neck. The long-healed scar along his throat became itchy, like something dried on his skin that gave him an uncontrollable urge to claw at his flesh. Gilbert ignored it, for the most part, assuming that his scar was just itching as his own scars occasionally did, but the first time that Ivan made himself bleed from it, Gilbert knew it was something more. Still, he ignored it. Perhaps he didn’t feel obligated to have sympathy for Ivan, or maybe he was too proud to show that kind of care. However, as the frequency of the scratching grew, the stronger the worry in Gilbert’s chest became.

Right now in India, the latest news is that some mysterious entity is cutting off the plaited long hair of women. They have no recollection of their hair being cut and it is a widespread thing right now in India. Personally I think that women are just fed up with their long hair, trying to please society, and this is a revolution.
