Istg I'm taking way too many photos of him, but I can't help it...

I tweaked his design a bit over the time and I'm now almost finished with Act 1 (finally)

For the ones that haven't seen my other post about him already, this is my first ever Durge character in BG3 called Li-Neer! He's a Lolth-sworn Drow Monk and romancing Astarion, Gale and probably also Halsin later on (polyamory mod, god bless)

So, let me add my two cents to this conversation. I’m German and in my language, every noun has a gender (either female, male or neuter) and gets referred to by gendered articles which are der (the, masculine), die (the, feminine) or das (the, neuter) and it‘s the same with the pronouns for said noun where there are either er (he), sie (she) or es (it) pronouns used for the word.

And while the moon in many languages is seen as a symbol for femininity, which probably stems from the moon being a female noun in Latin (Luna, Lunae f.), in German, that is not the case.

In my language, the moon is a masculine noun and referred to by male articles. We say DER Mond (the moon) and when we want to say that it looks beautiful, we‘d say: “er sieht schön aus”, aka “he looks beautiful.”

So, what’s the takeaway from all of this? The easiest way to phrase it is, that both cultures and languages are simply very different all around the world. I know that that sounds a bit.. obvious but I have recently observed that, especially on the internet, there seems to be a “right” and “wrong” way to go about things.

Seeing matters from a perspective that isn’t typically “Latin” or “American” is often shunned and shut down online because people aren’t used to it.

You can easily see that happen in the above post, where the user who posted the photo and caption was immediately shunned by the people in the comments for using the “wrong” pronoun for the moon.

Which is kind of funny to me, seeing as in English, nouns DON’T EVEN HAVE gendered pronouns. So this is definitely coming from the culture online being heavily influenced by Latin, as the internet seems to be a very western space and many of those languages have roots there.

But to me it is important to say that just because Luna is a commonly used term when talking about the moon, that doesn’t have to mean that everyone needs to agree on it being female. In my language, that isn’t the case and I’d very much feel pretty annoyed if anyone told me that my or my language’s/culture‘s perspective is somehow wrong.

So, as the person above my way too lengthy post already said: we‘re not all Romans. And in my humble opinion, that‘s a good thing. So stop policing other people on stuff like this, just because they have a different perspective on this. Emphasis on the word DIFFERENT by the way. Different, not wrong.

I think I'm gonna start using he/him for the moon on purpose now.

I'm one of the girls, I'm a girl's girl and I'll cry if you say I'm not, but I'm not a girl's girl.

I'm also Just Some Guy, y'know? I'm a little weirdo, a freak, a little girl with dirt on his knees and fire in his eyes.

I'm her husband but I'm also her girlfriend.

I'm neither a man nor a woman but a weird recluse writer who lives on the edge of a cliff where its always stormy.

I dress like an alt older brother from an early 2000's movie but also like a 90's lesbian (sometimes it's the same outfit).

In conclusion, labels are weird. I'm a boyfriend and a girlfriend, a husband but not a wife, a girl but not a woman, a guy, a man, a friend.

All that being said, he/him and they/them are still very much my pronouns (never she/her).

- Gets herself stabbed and poisoned to save Chiyo(someone she barely knows) - who in turn saves Gaara.

- Gives antidote to Chiyo despite being poisoned herself

- Defeats Sasori with chiyo

- Says that She will blow off her arms and legs just to get know Orochimaru's whereabouts just to get to Sasuke.

- Tries to save Naruto from Nine Kyuubi consuming him, without worrying about herself.

- Heals Naruto first instead of herself Doesn't tell him that he was the one who hurt her.

- Heals Naruto several times.

- Heals hundreds of injured patients during the pain arc.

- Saves Tami from being attacked by the giant Centipede.

- Always tries to lift up Naruto's spirit despite being down herself. (In case of Sasuke and Tsunade)

- Decides to take the burden of killing Sasuke,the man she loves upon herself, just for Naruto's,Sasuke's, and Konoha's sake. Just to protect them in her own way. Even though she knew she was going to die.

- Let's patients in the medical camp during the war, knowing that they could be the white zetsus... But still can't let go of her kind heart.

- Saves Naruto and literally pumps his heart with her hands.

- Hesitates to Stab Obito's eyes because She knew He had turned good now. She always had a kind heart.

- Can't let go of her love for Sasuke, despite the fact that that he had tried to kill her. Can't let go of her desire to save him.

- Saves and heals hundreds of lives in the battlefield and as well as the medical camp during the war.

- Saves Sasuke from the Desert dimension, with everything she has got.

- Doesn't think about his sexy and Warm body when he catches her. Lol I had to add this 😂😂. Instead worries about Obito to check if he is fine.

- Punches a god. And helps to seal her. And So helps to save the world

- Tries to save Sasuke from being consumed by the darkness again.

- Saves Naruto and Sasuke from bleeding to death, after their final battle in the Valley of the end.

- Saves Naruto's life. Pouring her chakra in him for 3 days.

- Opens a mental clinic for orphans who suffered during war, so that they don't have to go through what Naruto and Sasuke did.

- Defeats Kido who was impersonating Sasuke and committing crimes.

- Defeated Shin and beat him to pulp for looking at her family - two times!

- Oh! She also saved Karin's life.

New fandom + new Song = the best

You know, whenever I get a new phase because of a new fandom that I’m into, the whole thing immediately links itself to the music I'm listening to right now. Every time. Even though often, the music doesn’t even really fit, I still always associate this fandom with this one particular song and vice versa. I always think it’s a bit funny when I look at other fanmade playlists and the songs that I associate with the fandom of course don't appear in them at all. My latest obsession: Spatort (Tatort Saarbrücken, for those of you who don't know that) paired with the song "See You Again" by Roosevelt. Probably doesn't fit together at all but fuck it.

Neues Fandom + neuer Song = Beste

Wisst ihr, immer wenn ich ne neue Phase wegen eines neuen Fandoms bekomme, verknüpft sich das ganze auch immer mit der Musik die ich grad höre. Jedes Mal. Obwohl häufig die Musik vielleicht noch nicht mal wirklich dazu passt, assoziiere ich dieses Fandom trotzdem immer mit diesem einen Song und umgekehrt. Find‘s immer ein bissl witzig, wenn ich dann in andere Fan-Playlists gucke und die Songs die ich damit verbinde natürlich so gar nicht darin vorkommen. thinking about that post thats like. to avoid bloatware every game dev team should be required to have one guy that has to play the game on a shitty laptop. in the same spirit i think every movie and tv director should have to watch their movie/show on a small tv or laptop screen in a bright room and fix the lighting until its possible to see whats going on on the screen in those conditions
