So when watching the live streams last night with the fans who found the boys, I was seeing how Charlie was interacting with them and thinking, "gdi Charlie you're always too nice to the fans. Even when the behaviour is creepy. It's just going to reward bad behavior. "

But seeing some of y'alls interpretations that it was one way to kind of take the brunt of the fan interactions in case Owen was getting overwhelmed as well as hopefully get them to agree to not share this information has made me feel a bit more warm and fuzzy in light of a bad situation.

Does anyone else periodically think about that time Charlie said we liked Luke in response to Madi’s dad saying everyone was going crazy over him?

Like yes, I know we technically do not know him as a person

And yes, Luke is a very cool character

But sir, I do indeed stan:

-A proud Acadian who brings his flag to shoots. Also proud Canadian

-An incredibly hard worker who went through intense prep work for his JATP audition & role as well as spent a lot of time working on the songs

-An incredibly talented musician and actor who introduced GREAT ideas for JATP (Luke’s fashion, using the grand piano for Edge of Great, EDGE OF GREAT GUITAR SOLO) 

-An overall hype man for the whole cast and crew. As well as for his friends

-A person who consistently cares about the environment and who shared a Ted Talk given by an Indigenous speaker

-A person who can sustain platonic relationships with the opposite sex as well as demonstrates zero toxic masculinity with his guy friends 

-A person who is respectful of his female castmates (talking to Madison’s dad, being worried about Madi’s dress during the Perfect Harmony lift, wanting to walk Tori and Sav home)

-A person who really appreciates and tries to give back to his fan base, even when it’s increasingly hard given how it’s exponentially grown. But the fact that he tries to send fans videos, loves all the fanart, remember usernames of funny TikToks he’s seen, etc. *chefs kiss

-A person who flips an interview and will ask the interviewer questions when he’s not doing strictly JATP-promo things

That’s way more layers and dimensions to like than Luke. And I think some of the best parts of Luke (the talent, supportive vibes, fashion sense) come from Charlie anyways

We’re trending at number one on tumblr the day of the premier because there’s so much hype and excitement surrounding it

Seriously, all the other fandoms are like “wow, they’ve really done it this time!”

Someone has even done a countdown clock for the event

We watch and….

I can imagine WWII is the first one.....is the 2nd one Hydra-related? How did he “fail”? By being brainwashed? By struggling to recover? Or is the 2nd one Avengers-related somehow?

Gonna boost this post since I really didn’t want to give the OP any more notes even though I really disagree with what they wrote and how they’re targeting and attacking people over nothing. And to be perfectly honest, I don’t even read JATP smut, but I know a baseless accusation when I see one. I’m especially alarmed that they want to report these accounts for pedophilia?! Seriously?!

So what, we’re going to also report, say, the entire cast and crew of Sex Education for depicting sex scenes with teen characters? How about literally any CW show featuring teens and sex or the sexualization of teen bodies (albeit not as explicit, but the content is still there). We’re going to report every published YA author who writes or alludes to a sex scene between teen characters?

All these users have been responsible with their tagging. Kudos to a lot of them for being really mature and calm over this situation.

It’s fiction and art. If it’s not your cup of tea, don’t engage. Heck, sure, you can unfollow or block if you want to. But to falsely report people over their art? Some people need to get over themselves.

Funny of them to assume all these people are adults. Funny of them to accuse people of writing smut about minors when the writer either ages Julie up or thinks of the boys’ adult bodies. Stop trying to villainize people in a fandom. We rate our fics the way ao3 was designed to categorize smut fics into (E if it has explicit content ofc). None of these people are pedophiles. None of these people wrote their smut for pleasure. It’s just fun to write smut.
