Something that I feel isn’t talked about or written enough with anything that talks about Superman is when you press on Superman’s skin it doesn’t give.

Sure, there are dozens of panels in comics where Clark gets punched in the face and the attacker breaks their hand, but there is so much more that can be explored because this man’s skin has the tensile strength of a fucking moon. You touch him and it feels like you’re pressing up against a flesh heated wall. Imagine touching Superman’s elbow and getting cut because it’s so sharp.

Superman has probably never actually experienced touch the way we do. There is no comforting hug with a firm grip, there is no hand gently resting on the shoulder, there is no nothing. This man doesn’t feel any pressure when being touched.

I’m the comic “Kingdom Come”, which I highly recommend; it’s a wonderful critique of 90s comics and just how making characters grittier and grittier will only lead to the characters downfall. Anyways, Superman shares a “passionless kiss” with Wonder Woman and it describes the sound of it as “Granite against Steel.”

Superman is more susceptible to magic. I think that the superhero’s that embody and are made of magic are really the only people that Superman can touch and actually feel.

Ghost Puberty

Danny already went through Puberty once, as a human.

But now that he's been a half ghost for thirteen years, he gets to experience

It includes;

Fangs!

Glowing Freckles!

Claws!

Uncontrollable bouts of Floating!

Eyes glowing at weird times!

Odd, unconventional Cravings! Like raw meat!

Voice cracking!

And of course; all of these things presenting themselves while he's in his human form at odd times!

So Danny, 27 and fresh on the Bludhaven Police Force, is caught by his new partner as he desperately grips onto his desk to stop himself from floating into the ceiling, legs loops around the leg of a chair already four inches off the ground.

He stares at his partner.

His partner stares back.

"...So anyways, I was thinking we could go over these new forms, they're in the department file labeled 'suggestion'," his partner, Dick Grayson, says, casually leaning on Danny's shoulders and forcing the chair onto the ground.

They stare at useless forms on the computer until Danny's able to control it, and afterwards Dick takes him out for milkshakes.

Dick thinks he's a new meta.

Danny's too embarrassed to admit it's just puberty.

Danny wasn’t thrilled with the whole ghost king bs. So he just doesn’t do it. The realm was just fine without pariah. Someone else can deal with the paperwork.

The biggest problem tho. The summonings.

No one will teach him how to say no to them. All wanting him to do his duty. He is barely passing his human classes. He refuses king lessons. He’ll take the summons over kingly duties.

Besides. Jazz has a solution.

At all times he is awake, thankfully summons don’t happen when he is asleep. A friend or Jazz is with him.

Armed with the Fenton anti-creep stick or another weapon. Ready to step over the summons circle smack down the cultist here and there and break the summoning circle. Then Danny just opens a portal and they dip.

John on the other hand is more stressed then normal. For some reason the new ghost king is letting any body summon him. Hell. They got reports that a slumber party summoned him.

Rather then ignore the summons. The new king has one of three teenagers deal with the problem. A goth armed with a wrist laser and brass knuckles, a guy with apparently a pda, and then the orange haired one with a flipping bat.

Now he had to summon the king and figure out what’s up.

Hear me out, DP and DC crossover where Scarecrow is cousins with the Fentons. 

 His mother was siblings with Jack’s father, and both Jazz and Danny met ‘Uncle Jonathan’ during one of the many Fenton-Nightingale family reunions that happens every few years. Honestly, perhaps it’s what gets Jazz interested in psychology, hearing from her ‘uncle’ about fear and its effects.

 And honestly once they start having to deal with ghosts and having had to deal with their parents for years it’s not really hard to talk with their uncle. Crane still doesn’t know how he became these kids’ favorite uncle, or even all of the family kids’ favorite uncle-cousin, but that’s just how the family is. 

 Really he’s not even the only villain of the family, with both Jack and Maddie being close but not quite, even if they’re definitely mad scientists. Their son becoming a local hero, even if they’re not aware of that fact, is just ironic. 

 John knows. The two kids told him when they found out that Danny may or may not need to feed on fear now that he’s half ghost, and well he’s the specialist about the emotion so…

 At least they have someone to stay with when Jazz goes to Gotham university and brings Danny with her, even if the local vigilantes are concerned as to why Scarecrow attacks have suddenly took a nosedive…

Seeing the gaggle of Wayne wards, Danny came to a conclusion that horrified him. He turned to his clone, tucked her arms to her side, threw her onto his shoulder, and booked it out of there.

"Danny," she squawked.

"Do you want to be adopted by a billionaire?"

Ever since Penguin had found that street rat and offered him a job his life had been on easy street.

The young man had been wearing a bandana over the bottom half of his face while cleaning the floors of one of his establishments when the bats came crashing in through a skylight, showering both of them in glass.

The fight began quickly after that, the man in his confusion threw one of the bats away from him, which turned out to be a mistake. They now saw him as a goon and began attacking him too.

Panicking, Danny didn't want to lose his job. He didn't want to go back to living on the streets...so he made a decision. He used his intangibility to run through one of the bats and grabbed penguin who was already handcuffed and subdued.

Then they were gone.

The bats checked their thermals, checked for energy readings, everything, but the two were gone.

Penguins new goon was a meta who could teleport. Worse. He may have just become the Penguins private bodyguard.

They were right of course. Penguin took care of his own and Danny adored being cared for. Cobblepot gave him whatever he wanted and the ghost felt he was in to deep to tell his boss no when it came to most jobs. He always did have a problem with giving his loyalty to people who didn't deserve it. His own parents were a testament to that...to think his death hadn't actually been an accident...

This continues with the bats trying to stop Penguins plots and trying to find a way to stop or investigate this new meta and coming up with nothing cause "Ghost" isn't even from thier multiverse.

This all changes though when Catwoman informs them that Phantom has a massive crush on Red Hood.

Everyone looks to Jason who refuses to play around with some guys heart. He's done a lot of messed up things but hes not that scummy. The others protest saying that's not what they wanted and Hood does eventually agree to meeting with the guy and is caught off guard by how excited the guy is to meet him.

He treats him like an actual hero. He insists that he is one. Danny then drops some of his own tragic backstory about his insane mad scientists parents who experimented on him and his sister thier whole lives with this green glowing death water and how it didn't do much until they murdered him and led him to believe it was an accident.

They thought he survived.

He didn't. Its one of the things he liked about Red Hood. He wasn't actually revived either.

Jason demanded to know what he meant, but Danny only responded, "You're one of us." Before vanishing again.

Jason is more than a little freaked out.

Fantasy stories should have more “what do you mean you don’t do X” things in compare and contrast of cultures. Like the differences between peoples aren’t the stuff they show off as “These Are Our Culture :)” things, fucking everyone has food and music and folk tales, but the things they’ve always assumed that everyone has, and are baffled to discover that they don’t.

The people who are always barefoot are baffled that humans don’t have a wash basin at their front door where people can wash their feet before stepping inside?? Do they just walk in with their dirty feet? The fuck do you mean you take your shoes off?

Humans don’t have small baby-sized spellbooks for toddlers who just learned to read, so they can safely learn to practice tiny cute and harmless, age-appropriate magic spells before progressing to more mature and demanding spells? What, do they just throw teenagers completely unprepared into the arcane - hold the fuck up, is that why human sorceror mortality is so fucking high?

Dwarves who have always wondered why the entrance to human residences is so fucking big, why do you need to take up such a large area for a door that’s just there to lead downstairs to the underground halls? Are the timber walls really as thick as a human is tall? What for? And once one of them gets invited to a human house to stay and rest, nobody ever fucking believes her: That’s not the entrance, that’s the whole fucking house. 100% of the human house is aboveground, there is no tunnel to the underground levels. They might have a single storage room down there, but the aboveground section is so fucking big because that’s the whole house.
