A quick comic about OPLA Chopperš¦ And maybe a little Zosanš
Been working on a comic concept for my creature artwork. Hereās just a small interaction between Adam and Evelyn. Hope you like it!
reblog to give your headache to elon musk instead
We're reading Frankenstein in my college lit class and the topic of the creature's appearance came up. We were arguing about whether or not he was truly hideous. Some of us thought he looked relatively normal, but with scary eyes and some scarring while others thought he looked more like your stereotypical zombie.
My professor had this to say about the monster's appearance:
"Imagine the most handsome man you can think of. Someone who is well known for being conventionally attractive. That man is now dead, and his head is carefully sewn onto another dead man's torso. All his new body parts are proportionate, but his skin- which has been decaying for who knows how long- has lost all its luster and turned to a yellowish tint. His watery eyes are an unnatural shade of yellow. And he's towering over you at 8ft tall. Is he still handsome?"
So here me out, if Victor's description of the creature as beautiful when he was making him is true, and Waltonās description of the creature as a hideous monster upon seeing him at the end of the novel is true, perhaps the creatureās appearance changes as a reflection of how heās treated.
I believe that the creature appears hauntingly beautiful (as beautiful an 8ft man made from the body parts of dead people could be) when heās brought into the world, but as he faces constant rejection from mankind and is treated as a monster, his looks begin to reflect his perception of himself. And as his innocence is corrupted and he chooses to act like the monster society sees him as, the creatureās appearance gradually degrades. By the end of Frankenstein, heās killed four people in his quest for acceptance and has trekked through the arctic, so he looks just like the wretched daemon that Victor always said he was.
ā¦this all to ask, if he was treated with kindness and love would he slowly start to look more human?
Choupette:
*insert Up On Melancholy Hill playing here*
Frankenstein AU where the Creature, upon returning to seek terrible vengeance on Victor after realizing the tragic existence he's been forced into, takes a few days extra to actually, you know, observe Victor and see what he's like, to learn how best to enact his revenge. And he comes to the conclusion that, "Actually, I don't need to do anything, this idiot's going to ruin his own life without any outside interference, and I kinda wanna see how he does it."
Victor then proceeds to continue with his previously demonstrated levels of making good life choices, while now also constantly looking over his shoulder for his Creation and having the vapors at every little thing because oh noes, it's The Monster come back to Get Him-!!!
The Creature: (watching all this unfold through binoculars like it's a soap opera while sneaking in to help himself to Victor's larder and library when he feels like it, and also occasionally hiding small but vital objects, like Victor's keys or shaving blade, in weird spots in the house) Wow, it really does take an incredibly smart man to be quite this stupid, doesn't it?
You're right and you should say it louder š
i know a lot of people didnāt really like opla zoroās characterization but it honestly reminded me a lot of the filler episode where he met jonny and yosaku (im upset that didnāt make it into the live action š) as well as the filler where the seahorse stole their memories to become a millennial dragon (i know a lot of people skip filler tho šš½š)
spoilers for pretime skip if you havenāt watched it yet !
but in a grander scheme of things i think it would honestly be so amazing and heartbreaking at the same time if we watched zoro learn to open up towards the crew over the course of logue town - sabaody only to see him come back more closed off after the events of thriller bark - marine ford (i kinda see chopper as being that character that really allows us to see a softer side of zoro i mean heās the main character we genuinely get to see his big brother/care giver energy with)
it would also be similar to robin started off closed off when she first joined the crew post alabasta and we see her start to open up because of the events of enies lobby (OH i think it would also be a good contrast between robin and zoro as well because weād see how easily he has become open with the crew members heās already been with while still have this āi need to protect them from herā i think it may come off stronger in the live action im also referring to skypeia here, i also wonder if theyāll have nami be slower to trust robin as well) idk im just existed to see what changes they may or may not make to how the characters interact im personally not watching the live action or even the anime to be a perfect one for one adaptation of the manga i think thatād be a bit boring for me personally š¤øš½āāļø
i can definitely see them taking that kind of approach of the live action gets that far and i think itād make a lot of since from a character perspective

They! Love! Him! So! Much!
I love how different One Piece Live Action is to the anime because you can actually see in their eyes when everyone falls in love with Luffy. Like absolutely deeply madly in love with him.
AHHHH!!! This is so good!!!
