You're right and you should say it louder 💅
i know a lot of people didn’t really like opla zoro’s characterization but it honestly reminded me a lot of the filler episode where he met jonny and yosaku (im upset that didn’t make it into the live action 😭) as well as the filler where the seahorse stole their memories to become a millennial dragon (i know a lot of people skip filler tho 🖐🏽😞)
spoilers for pretime skip if you haven’t watched it yet !
but in a grander scheme of things i think it would honestly be so amazing and heartbreaking at the same time if we watched zoro learn to open up towards the crew over the course of logue town - sabaody only to see him come back more closed off after the events of thriller bark - marine ford (i kinda see chopper as being that character that really allows us to see a softer side of zoro i mean he’s the main character we genuinely get to see his big brother/care giver energy with)
it would also be similar to robin started off closed off when she first joined the crew post alabasta and we see her start to open up because of the events of enies lobby (OH i think it would also be a good contrast between robin and zoro as well because we’d see how easily he has become open with the crew members he’s already been with while still have this “i need to protect them from her” i think it may come off stronger in the live action im also referring to skypeia here, i also wonder if they’ll have nami be slower to trust robin as well) idk im just existed to see what changes they may or may not make to how the characters interact im personally not watching the live action or even the anime to be a perfect one for one adaptation of the manga i think that’d be a bit boring for me personally 🤸🏽♀️
i can definitely see them taking that kind of approach of the live action gets that far and i think it’d make a lot of since from a character perspective
There's another scene at Nojiko's hut where she says that Nami is "a thief with no conscience. And when there's no more left to take she leaves and doesn't turn back." As she says this you can see Zoro looking down with an expression of... disappointment. Like deep down he was hoping Luffy would be proven right about Nami's character, but Nojiko's words just further confirm his suspicions.
Then Nojiko says something that makes him look up: "My sister doesn't have any friends."
Those were the last words Zoro said to Nami before his duel with Mihawk. This does two things 1) it shows Zoro (and the audience) that Nami wasn't lying during their drinking game at Baratie when she said she didn't have any friends, 2) it makes him feel guilty.
Because of my last video, I've been thinking a lot about this moment, about Zoro's little step back when Nami sees them for the first time since the betrayal, and I wonder if it was something written in the script or if Mackenyu (or another person like the director or the writers during filming) came up with it on the spot. Because I really love it.
I mean, the others were there when Nami's betrayal takes place but Zoro doesn't see it, Luffy has to tell him what happened. So this is the first time they see each other since he directly hurt her with her own words. Since he used her own vulnerability against her just to get her to leave him alone.
So the fact that he is almost intimidated by her when they see each other again after the absolute disaster that was their last conversation (and without him knowing what she has been doing for him during his convalescence), is a great detail to me.
I've decided not to engage with the outside world anymore. If you need me I will be curled up in a ball in my nest hibernating. Wake me up in about 4 years when the tides may turn again. I'll be ready.
Recently got an iPad air and downloaded Procreate during Christmas! I feel confident enough to post one of my new favorite pieces of art: Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy! I'm still learning how to use Procreate so expect an improvement in quality in the future.
conan was such a good host. he’s so tuned in to showbiz in a way the jimmies aren’t, and he’s just so damn charming and likable. would like to see him host again in the future, although i am hoping for a mulaney hosting gig too.
Ok so hot take, but I don't like the phrase "Modern Prometheus" when describing Victor Frankenstein. Because unlike Victor, Prometheus actually cared about his creations (humanity) and sought to protect them (gave them fire). And when he was found out by Zeus, he took responsibility for his actions, but didn't apologize for doing what he thought was right. Sure Victor created life, but he abandoned it for looking at him funny.
Really funny to watch dude bros struggle to explain how Agatha All Along is bad without being overtly homophobic, sexist, or racist.
Sooo... I don't really do social media. But I want to push myself to try new things and I would like to post some of my art and ideas. More to come...
Goddamnit Victor, just because your a genius in science doesn’t mean your a genius in other aspects of life!
made some self-indulgent mock-up book covers with my gothic lit art 🖤
Progress photos of my Nøkken painting back in May.
And here's the finished product. (Although I might always add touch ups because my work is never finished).
