Bring your grandpa/dad to work day, but Jake got attached to this old man named Tom.

Tom was some old guy he snarked off at a coffee shop once and was pleased when the older man calmly gave a witty retort.

He keeps on bumping into the man in the same coffee shop, but he bumps into the old man at the park and grocery place at well.

Surprisingly they hit it off, and Jake looks forward to seeing Tom even though he'll never admit it. Tom's getting fond of the boy. Especially when he realized 3 months in that this was the same Jake "Hangman" Seresin who saved his husband and Baby Goose.

One day there was a bring your dad/grandpa/son to work day. Jake was talking about it to Tom, sad that he doesn't really have anyone to bring and was planning to call out because even tho Mav is great and Javy's family always welcome him, he feels like an outsider in those events. Tom hesitantly offered to come, not wanting to overstep, and Jake looked overjoyed.

Tom comes to the event and Jake was showing him around the base, and the shenanigans he gets into with his squad (Tom is delighted to gain some more blackmail against Mav). He also starts introducing Tom around, and some people are staring wide-eyed or straight up choke when they see Tom.

Why the fuck is the COMPACFLT here and in civvies!??? AND HANGMAN IS CALLING HIM, TOM???

Iceman makes sure to give his trademark glare to everyone who even thinks about mentioning his title or saying something to Jake. Everyone just snaps their mouths shut and smiles awkwardly.

It continues with Jake dragging THE ICEMAN around like an excited puppy, and Tom looking fond and ruffles Hangman's hair every few minutes. The base didn't realize how young Hangman really is until that day.

Eventually Tom and Jake run into Mav and Bradley and both have their mouths wide open as Jake introduces Tom to them.

Eventually ends with Mav saying, "Hey! I adopted him first!" While pouting.

"He takes after me more," Ice says giving Mav a grin as he slung an arm around Jake's shoulder to pull him against his side.

I feel like Ice would have no moral code when it comes to Thanksgiving shopping. He would (and probably has) gotten into a fistfight with an elderly woman over the last can of pumpkin. There is nothing that will come in between Ice and the ingredients to his Babushka's recipes.

Mav does not give a single shit about thanksgiving food.

Based on a True Story:

Ice and Goose: cooking.

Mav and Slider: Joking around at the end of the counter.

Slider: Mav, is the Microwave supposed to be smoking?

Mav looks over to see smoke pouring out of the microwave: ICE THE POTATOES ARE ON FIRE.

Ice running over and opening the microwave. Additional smoke comes out. The potatoes are fine: WHERE THE FUCK IS THE SMOKE COMIMG FROM THE POTATOES AREN'T BURNT.

The microwave begins making weird noises. More smoke come out, then the microwave makes a popping sound. and the smoke stops coming.

The Microwave caught on fire.

So this AU came to me in a dream and I woke up with actual tears so — here we go. 

In the deepest chunks of my cold, dead heart, I believe that even if Ice married Sarah, he still always loved Mav. There were just so many reasons why they couldn't work out long-term: Ice wanted to advance, Mav didn't want to hold him back, the danger of being a gay couple in the ‘80s and ‘90s — let alone in the Navy. 

It just couldn't work out for them. They were trying to protect each other and that meant sacrifices on both ends.

But it doesn't mean they ever stopped loving each other, Ice’s love was shown in saving Mav’s ass time after time, and Mav’s was in being there — always, no matter what Ice needed. 

Mav was there when all three of Ice’s kids were born, his two daughters and his youngest: Tom Kazansky Jr. 

Junior, who only looks more like his namesake with every year that passes. 

Eventually Mav gets shipped to China Lake so he doesn't have to get a front-row seat to Ice dying right in front of them (Ice’s decision of course).

The Mission rolls around, and lo and behold: a Tom Kazansky will always appear to Mav in his time of need. 

But instead of a text — it’s in the form of Junior, a vision of 27-year-old Tom Kazansky, complete with moles and his big ass teeth. 

“Apparently, we’ve got a mission, Maverick.”

Imagine the complete agony of a world where Mav never gets to have the life he deserves with the man he loves, and not only that, but he's surrounded by the living specters of the two men he loved most and lost. 

A world in which he gets to keep a piece of Goose and Ice, but only as a reminder that the Bradshaw and Kazansky on his wings will never be the ones he wants.

Or the flip side, where Mav is the only piece of their fathers that both boys have left and there gets to be a Kazansky-Bradshaw-Mitchell trio in the sky again.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY you little shits. here's how topgun characters celebrate valentines day :)

Mav: Nothing on actual valentines day, unless it falls on a weekend. He knows that Ice is usually too busy on a weekday to do anything major, so he always plans something fun for the weekend after. (His favorite thing he did was a romantic motorcycle ride to a picnic on the beach)

Ice: Even though he's busy on Valentines day, he always takes the time to set up takeout for his and Mav's favorite restaurant and put on a cheesy romance movie.

Goose: Bitch proposed on a valentines day. He's the cheesiest man to ever live. Every single valentines day that he is stateside, he cooks breakfast in bed for Carole, no matter how early in the morning he has to wake up in order for that to happen. He has a huge bouquet of roses ready for her when she walks into the living rooms, and the entire floor is COVERED in rode petals. he's a cheesy sap and carole loves him for it.

Mav would go ABSOLUTELY FERAL over black friday sales. This guy grew up poor, so you bet your ass that once he can, he buys so much unnecessary shit just cause it's on sale.

Rich Boy Ice on the other hand. He does not understand why mav has such strong desires to get trampled by a swarming hoard of people to get things he will never use.
