the lynch brothers are so funny to me bc they’re like.
1. ancient demon god in a skin suit who births monsters and craves violence
2. homunculus with no internal organs and an innate desire to walk to an unknown destination
3. declan
Don’t get me wrong, I think Andrew calling Neil Rabbit is cute, but I don’t really like it. And this is absolutely no hate to anyone who does. It’s a cute pet name but I think it means something completely different for them. Andrew only calls Neil a rabbit because of his tendency to run away from his problems, and I think he only ever calls Neil rabbit like twice maybe in the whole series (Correct me if I’m wrong) and only when Neil gets flighty. It’s not an endearment, it’s an accusation and an insult honestly. Andrew literally says, "Remember this feeling. This is the moment you stop being a rabbit.” As in he trust Neil not to take off because Andrew’s got him. It wouldn’t make sense for Andrew to call Neil any variant of rabbit because that’s not what Neil is to him anymore.
andrew being in the foster system for 13 years before juvie, his home with nicky being his 13th, bee being andrew’s 13th therpaist, the ravens scoring 13 goals in their first match against the foxes on the 13th of october, there are 13 ravens drills, neil’s interrogation with the fbi lasting 13 hours, andrew and neil’s numbers adding to 13
andrew: do you believe in luck?
neil: only the bad sort
13 being the ‘lucky number’ of the series despite it being a superstitious sign of bad luck. mirroring the subversion of expectations within the series that starts with andrew and neil beginning to understand each other after a shaky start, and ending with the foxes beating the ravens.
oh my gawd paperbacks are here
Kdp has approved the paperbacks.
It has been a bit of a mess, starting with not having access to the right PC for the full cover (Amazon requires back spine front be a single img, and psp5 is still only on the older pc), then to the usual distress over margins that requires ordering proofs after every tweak & waiting on delivery, then to the final book getting locked in a box I don't have a key to for four days. All that to say, sorry for the wait. ☠️☠️ My goal with tsc3/#6 is to ensure ebook & print release same day.
That being said, I am heading out for the year unless disaater strikes. Be safe, lovies.
Jean Moreau & Neil Josten - All for the Game by Nora Sakavic
my main blorbos always end up like this:
i'll take the character that everyone hates. yeah, the one who died in the middle of the story. that one-the one who was never grieved, mentioned, or care about after said death
someone offers an obvious audience insert or a caricature of feminism instead and im weird for not being interested?
i said i'll take the one even the author hates, the one people said 'good riddance' to, the one no one ever took a second look at
Okay but what lives rent free in my head is the literal connection between K and the devil in trc (or at least how i understood it)
I don't know do y'all remember the scene or made the connection like i did, but it was in the end of tdt, before the party and adam and persephone were fixing the leyline,
There was the repeated hurry mentioned, hurry hurry hurry but adam didn't know why, until there was a white mitsubishi- K's car (Adam wasn't sure was it K, but i think the gray man was elsewhere and that'd also be the time K went to kidnap matthew (it was K's car so the connection is to K))
right after was this:
Persephone turned over a card. The Devil.
All of a sudden, Adam was quite certain of why they were hurrying.
THE DEVIL im not crazy right? How i see it, (im gonna ignore how maggie made the easiest way out of this and gonna focus on other things) is that K's tarot is the devil, straight connection right?
it could also be a way of showing the blatant black and white of ronan and K, because K thinks that he's a god, but what and is he really the devil (yes i say), that'd for me to mean ronan was the god
after all, (im not religious nor catholic) but they think god as good (i hope or im rlly out of religion), and when it comes to dreaming ronan is the greywaren at the end, not a thief, he uses his power for good
K was made to be the bad person, but also from my perspective (+ now adding the religious one a bit), the devil isn't bad, it has a very different view of the world and whats right and whats wrong compared to god who has stricter limits or separating good and bad, black and white of each other (ying and yang shit), which is why the devil fits K so well, and god more or less ronan
(added, satan is an undername for the overall term of the devil (which might not be correct (im not sure (i think?))) but satan is often associated with fire and also is angel of Death / is seen as the fallen angel which once again, fits K)
it also might be that satan and the devil are two different, (i acc think this one is the more correct), satan could be "the god of evil" but not certainly the devil, (also lucifer is different than either of those, but satan and lucifer both under devil, (not the devil itself)) (please tell me if you know how satan, the devil and lucifer go because i do not know for sure)
can't think about this for longer than 5 seconds without wanting to flip furniture and rip my hair out
Lmao wasn’t Evan a horrible person in canon? Not even like a funeralpllllll likes him 🤣
