Ellie sat across you, as you took the blunt between your fingers. You brought it up to your lips, as you took a deep breathe. As you breathed in, you closed your eyes as the smoke filled your lungs. Slowly breathing out, you already started to feel fuzzy.
It was Ellie's favorite time of the day. It was night time. There was barley any light in the room where you and Ellie sat- it was only the moonlight shining in from the windows.
Ellie couldn't help but to stare at you in awe. Your lips slightly swollen, you eyes closed, head thrown back- and the moonlight shining across your features made it 10 times better.
You were dressed up. Wearing a blue flowy summer dress. You had planned on going out that night, but then Ellie showed up and begged you to go smoking with her, and you said yes because who wouldn't? its Ellie fucking Williams.
You being dressed up, and under the moonlight, had Ellie going feral. She wanted nothing more but to get up and rip your clothes off of you. But she didn't. She couldn't. Because you weren't hers.
You suddenly opened your eyes, and Ellie started blushing- in fear that you might have caught her staring. You sat up slightly giving her the blunt.
"here" you said softly and Ellie just knew by the sound of your voice you were higher than a kite.
It was moments like these where Ellie fell more and more in love with you. The two of you, alone. Doing one of her favorite activities- smoking.
Ellie loved getting high with you. Hell, you were a drug to her, so you and weed together fucked her up even more. She wished you were hers. Her girl. Her lover. She wished she could get high with you all the time.
She wished she could get high with her lover, who isn't her lover. Yet.

You laid on the sofa across from Ellie, you legs sprawled out in front of you. Your dress was riding up your thighs as you kept moving and Ellie felt like she was going to explode by the sight. Your eyes were still closed, your head still thrown back.
'fuck me' me ellie said out loud.
'mhm' you questioned, opening one eye to look at her. You were so fucking high. It felt like you were floating. You heard Ellie mumble something and it brought you back to earth.
'n-n-nothing' Ellie said quickly.
Ellie never stutters you thought to yourself, but you assumed because she was just as fucking high as you were.
'c'mon hurry up' you said motioning at the blunt Ellie was holding.
'oh yeah' she said as if she forgot that she was smoking.
Truth be told she did. You fuck up her mind. You make her nervous. You make her forget things.
She quickly gave you the blunt and once again you took it between your lips and closed your eyes in pleasure. Ellie wondered if you were doing this on purpose. Teasing her. Taunting her.
Smoke filled the room as you breathed out and Ellie was staring once again. eyes trailing your body. She took the blunt from your hand, your fingers brushing slightly and she felt a jolt of electricity go up her spine at the touch. Before she could put the blunt into her mouth, to try and shake off these thoughts she was having of you, you reached down into your bag to grab a tube of lip gloss. Ellie watched you carefully, as you laid back down. You opened the lip gloss, and applied it to your lips.
Ellie wanted nothing more but to lean over and kiss you. You felt her eyes burning holes into your head, you turned to her she looked away immediately. You put the lip gloss down, closed your eyes and you let out a soft 'hurry up'.
Ellie was fucked. She was turned on. She was in love. She was obsessed. She was high. She didn't know what to do.
There you were laying across from her. Exposed thighs, glossed lips, eyes closed, head thrown back. 'Fuckmefuckmefuckme' she thought over and over again.
She decided there and then she was never getting high with you again. (she knew she would invite you again)

She could already imagine it. Coming home after patrol you being there waiting for her. Maybe in the kitchen cooking for her, wearing no panties. Maybe shed walk in on you waiting for her on the bed. She imagines coming home to you already licking the sides of the blunt, handing one to her as the two of you smoked in your home.
Her dreams could become a reality if she wasn't such a fucking pussy. Ellie would never admit it to anyone but you were her safe heaven. Over the years of knowing you, you somehow became her comfort. After hard days of patrol she'd always go visit you and her mood changes instantly. Apart from all her dirty thoughts Ellie wanted nothing more but to come home to you, and to comforted by you. To be held. To be babied.
The world you lived in was hell. It was darkness, but you were her light and you didn't even know. She felt free with you. She felt safe. If she could she would escape from this world. And she would take you with her.

As the night went on the two of you got higher and higher.
You were asleep. The moonlight looming over your features and Ellie just admired you. She loved the moon. She loved you. She loved you to the moon and back. She always wanted to be an astronaut when she was younger. She wanted to go to the moon and she wanted to take you with her. (She assumed there would be no infected on the moon) She laid on her side watching you as you slept. She silently thanked the moonlight from making you look even more angelic than you already were. She took one last puff before the blunt was finished and when she was done with it she discarded it somewhere on the table and she looked at you. There was nothing she wouldn't do for you. Getting high with you was the best decision she ever made.
She watched as you were sleeping, your chest rising slowly, your thighs still on display. You were going to be hers. She will make sure of it. Nothing and no one was going to stop her. She was going to make you her lover.
And she just did just that. A few days later the two of you were in the room cuddling and getting fucked up together.
Ellies dreams finally became a reality. She was getting high with her lover.

Warnings: toxic relationships, death, suicide and self harm and a little blasphemy
Summary: Your relationship was toxic, you both knew this... but yet both of you couldn't stay away from each other

Crash the car again
The same mistakes again
Don't wanna hurt you like I did
Screaming, crying, dishonesty. These were some of the words you used to describe you and Ellieโs relationship. It was unhealthy. It was toxic. Religious people would always quote that one bible verse where it says a dog would vomit and then it would go back to eat its vomit. The same way sinners would go back to sin. The same way you would go back to Ellie.
You and Ellieโs relationship hadnโt always been toxic, there were happy times too. The times she would come over and the two of you would watch a movie together, that one time Ellie snuck you out of Jackson to show you a dinosaur museum. You were happy. Very happy.
Until Joel died.
When Joel died Ellie changed. She became cold, distant.
ย But you understood why. She was grieving.
And you truly did assume that eventually sheโll go back to normal. But then her obsession with finding Abby started. She left Jackson. You were broken.
Life without Ellie felt like a life without sunlight. There was no light. No joy. It was cold. You remembered the countless nights of you crying yourself to sleep. The nights you would reach over and touch the side of the bed Ellie lay on. It was always cold. The cold side of the bed was a painful reminder that she chose revenge over you.
But Ellie came back to Jackson.
You were happier than ever.ย Because you waited for Ellie. You put your life on hold for her, because you couldnโt imagine a life without her.
Ellie changed. She became more aggressive. One second she would be ok the next moment sheโd explode with anger. Hurtful words leaving her mouth. And that was when you decided to breakup with her, for the first time.
The breakup lasted 2 weeks. And you went back to her again. The arguments and lies got worse, and you left. For a second time. But not long after you came back. You would always come back.
Thatโs probably why you were standing outside Ellieโs house. The two of you had an argument 3 weeks ago. Ellie had lied to you about where she slept the previous night saying โdonโt worry baby Iโm going to Maria and Tommyโ but you soon found out she went to her ex-girlfriendโs house.
She lied. You were hurt. You felt Betrayed. And you broke up with her again.
But you came back. You had to talk to Ellie.
But for the first time ever, you werenโt here to take Ellie back, you werenโt here to listen to her bullshit promises, you were here to say goodbye. You were her to end it all, so that you could be free from Ellieโs harsh words. You were doing this for yourself. And for the sake of your mental health.
You shakily reached for the door, your left had curling into a fist, you felt the wood on your knuckles as you lightly knocked.
The door flew open, revealing Ellie in all her glory. Her autumn brown hair is longer, reaching past her shoulders, dark circles covered the bottom of her beautiful eyes.
โBaby?โ she asked softly eyes wide.
'Cause I'm notโ waitingโ for you
But Iโ don't want to hurt you
Ellie knew Joelโs death affected her in more ways than one. She knew her mental health suffered because of his death. Out of everyone she hurt and killed the last person she wanted to cause any harm to was you. But it was as if she couldnโt stop herself from hurting you.
She couldnโt kill Abby because she knew it wouldnโt bring Joel back. She was filled with anger. Pain. Hatred and she didnโt know how to get it out. And there you were. Her soft and sweet girl, that waited for her.
In a way Ellie was jealous of you. How innocent you were. All the people she killed, everything she did to try and get Joel some justice, just made her dirty. And there you were. Ellie sometimes wondered why you wouldnโt just leave her. All she did was hurt you.
She wanted to make you feel what she felt all these months as she went after Abby. But yet you stayed. And thatโs why she was so surprised to see you standing in front of her house with a small smile on your face.
โHi elsโ you spoke softly; your eyes briefly fell to the floor as if you were preparing to tell her something. Something big. Something Important.
ย After a few seconds your eyes met again, and you spoke once more; โwe need to talkโ
All aloneโ again
It hurts my heart again
I think my blood is runningโthin
I'mโawayโagain
It hurts myโhead again
Don't wannaโbe away from your skin
As toxic as your relationship was, you both couldnโt stay away from each other. The countless times you and Ellie broke up, the two of you would sneak out to meet each other. Just to be in each otherโs presence.
ย Neither you or Ellie would never admit it: but you canโt live without each other. The two of you had built such a bond that you were both so incredibly dependent on the other for comfort. All the nights Ellie cried when you left her, all the days Ellie would plead and beg you to come back because she would change and she would be a better person. She really tried. But she couldnโt. Her past was haunting her. It traumatized her. Broke her beyond repair. When she looks at you the only thing she could imagine was all the people she had to kill. But at the same time she felt comforted by your smile.
Ellie was planning on changing but she doesnโt know how.
ย How does one go back to the way they were before they watched their father figure get brutally murdered?
But you had other plans. There isnโt going to be a next time. You werenโt going to let Ellie say another word that will put you into another depressive episode. You had to end it all.
You sat across her, and Ellie felt like her heart was being ripped into a million pieces. It felt like her heart was shattered, and you were watching her bleed pout.
She had been shot, stabbed, but the pain of the words you muttered, hurts even more.
โEarth to Ellieโ you said because she went silent. She zoned out thinking of all the ways she could try to get back together with you.
ย โNoโ Ellie spoke โyou canโt do thisโ
โI canโ you said softly the room fell silent, the tension rising.
ย โEllieโ you spoke again โwe can never be together againโ you started โyou hurt me too muchโ and Ellie felt shame wash over her.
โIโm sorryโ she said with a pleading look in her eyes โIโll changeโ and Ellie watched you shake your head.
โYou never fucking changed, what makes me think youโll do it now?โ you spoke harshly.
You got up and started walking towards the door. Ellie felt the tears running down her cheeks. She watched your figure walk towards the door. You didnโt even look back at her.
ย โGoodbye Ellieโ
Hurt myself again
I thought you'd notice it
Don't wanna fix it like you did
Your body was found on a Saturday morning. You were hanging from the roof. You had hung yourself. You didnโt leave a note. No one knows why you killed yourself. Your secrets died with you, the reason and the problems you faced, went to the grave with you. And this puzzled Ellie.
Why didnโt you tell her?
ย Yes, your relationship was bad, but you couldโve told her. She wouldโve helped you. She wouldโve hurt those who harmed you.
Two days after your body was found your words ran in Ellieโs mind.
You keep hurting meโฆ.
It was her. Ellie was the problem. Ellie was the reason you felt so depressed that you ended your life.
ย It was all her fault
She felt bad, guilty. She murdered you. She had your blood on her hands. Ellie didnโt deserve to be alive. The day of your funeral she watched as your body was lowered into the ground, Ellieโs loud sobs echoing across all of Jackson. Ellie wished that was her. She wished she was the one being buried because you didnโt deserve that. Ellie start hurting herself. Sheโd watch her blood drip onto her bed as she cut herself. She wishes she could give some of her blood to you. She wishes she could give life back to you. Her blood in exchange for your life. The way Jesus died on the cross to give us eternal life the same way she wanted to die. For you. To give you the life you deserved.
I think I'm okay by myself, I'm doing great
But we'd be better together, better together
Together though, together though, together again
Ellie thought your death would be good for her. Maybe if you werenโt there sheโd be ok. But your death made everything worse for Ellie. She thought she could live in a world without you. She realized she couldnโt and as Ellie took her final breath as she lay on her bed bleeding out, she hoped that she would be reunited with you in the afterlife, that the two of you would finally be together.
ย They say death separates people. Death rips families and relationships apart. And thatโs what Joelโs death did to you and Ellieโs relationship. His death ruined the only good thing both of you had left. But now that both you and Ellie have passed away, she hoped that her death might bring you back together. For your souls to be intertwined.
Ellie hoped that if God was real that he would take pity on her and forgive her sins. That He let the two of you be together in the afterlife. That death would bring you closer. And that youโd be together forever.
Authors note: Sorry for going MIA again, life has been kinda messy rn, but I promise Iโll try and get more stories out soon, to all the requests in my inbox, I swear Iโll write your stories soon. Remember you are loved and my requests are always open!!

โ You bring Ellie her favorite iced coffee and a container of cut-up fruit, the kids in towโArnold babbling in his pram, and Aurora holding your hand in little Velcro sandals.
โ Ellie knows you're coming, but she doesn't know you got stopped on the quad near the literature building by one of her students.
โ Youโre wearing bike shorts and a cropped tee, sunglasses in your hair, looking unfairly good for someone juggling two small children.
โ Youโre distracted by Aurora asking about clouds while adjusting Arnoldโs sunshade when the student approaches.
โ The studentโsome cocky, overconfident sophomoreโspots you and comes over with a too-wide smile.
โ โHeyโฆ uh, you lost? Need help finding someone?โ they ask, ignoring the fact youโre very clearly fine.
โ The student starts asking questions that donโt need answeringโwho you're here for, if you're new on campus, if you have a partner.
โ You give polite, short answers, focused on Aurora while trying not to cause a scene.
โ The student leans casually on the pram, cracking jokes and acting like youโre at a coffee shop, not mid-parenting.
โ You laugh onceโa polite laughโwhich ends up being a nuclear detonation in Ellieโs mind.
โ What the student doesnโt know is that Ellie just stepped outside the building to greet you.
โ She sees the scene from a few yards awayโher student leaning way too close to you, eyes shamelessly scanning you up and down.
โ You havenโt noticed her yet. But she notices everything.
โ Jealousy hits her like a truckโinstant and sharp.
โ It coils in her stomach, turning to a possessive rage that sits right behind her ribcage.
โ Her jaw tightens as her eyes laser in on the studentโs body language, analyzing every flirty lean and casual smirk.
โ Sheโs not just angryโtheyโre flirting with you in front of her children.
โ โAre you insane?โ she mutters under her breath, already storming across the quad.
โ Her heart is poundingโpart fury, part fear that you were approached at all.
โ She's not scared youโll respondโshe knows you love her. But the idea of anyone even trying? Thatโs war.
โ โCan I help you?โ Ellie says sharply as she inserts herself physically between you and the student.
โ Her tone is low, dangerousโcalm in that pre-explosion way.
โ The student stutters, caught off-guard, suddenly realizing who she is.
โ โProfessor Williams,โ they start, awkwardly laughing, โI didnโt realizeโโ
โ โThat you were flirting with my wife? While she was watching our children?โ
โ You immediately reach out, brushing your hand against Ellieโs back to ground her.
โ โItโs fine,โ you say softly, but Ellieโs not even close to letting it slide.
โ โNo, itโs not fine,โ she growls, turning back to the student. โYouโre in my class. You should know who I am. And you shouldโve known she was mine the second you saw her.โ
โ The student tries to apologize, but Ellieโs already brushing past them and gripping the pram handle like it personally offended her.
โ She doesnโt say anything for a moment, just walking fast, one hand protectively behind your back.
โ When you glance at her, her jaw is clenched, and her eyes are distant and stormy.
โ โYou okay?โ you ask softly.
โ โNo,โ she snaps. โI hated that. I hated seeing that.โ
โ โI wasnโt flirting back,โ you say.
โ โI know,โ she mutters. โBut they looked at you like they had a chance. And I wanted to punch them through the pavement.โ
โ She takes you into her office instead of walking you to the car, locking the door behind you.
โ โYou look like a fantasy,โ she says, her voice low, bitter. โAnd I hate that other people get to see it.โ
โ You smirk. โYou mean you hate that theyโre brave enough to flirt in front of you?โ
โ โExactly,โ she growls. โBecause it means they donโt take me seriously enough.โ
โ โOr theyโre just idiots,โ you offer.
โ โMaybe. But youโre mine. And I shouldnโt have to remind people of that every time you walk across campus.โ
โ She brings it up again at homeโstill stewing, still thinking about it.
โ โYouโre too pretty to be out there like that,โ she says, half-joking, half-serious.
โ โSo I should wear a mask?โ you tease.
โ โHonestly? Iโd feel better,โ she mumbles, snuggling closer to Arnold on your chest.
โ Aurora hears the story and yells, โMommyโs scary!โ and Ellie corrects her: โProtective.โ
โ She kisses your hand more that nightโrubbing her thumb over your ring like a silent message.
โ She considers printing a family photo and putting it on the front of her lecture slides.
โ Sheโs uncharacteristically clingy for daysโgrabbing your waist while you cook, following you to the door when you go outside, randomly texting โmine.โ
โ She even updates her email signature to include โPartner to the hot woman with two kids. Yes, that one.โ
โ She mentally blacklists that studentโno participation marks ever again.
โ She references the incident in her next ethics lecture: โKnow your boundaries, especially when they involve your professorโs spouse.โ
โ Starts inviting you to campus more oftenโnot to keep you away from others, but to show you off while keeping you close.
โ Insists you wear her oversized university hoodie on future visits.
โ You catch her watching you from her classroom window once as you push the pram down the path. She waves. You blow a kiss. She turns pink.
โ She buys you sunglasses she lovesโwants you to wear them when youโre out because โyou look hot, but you look taken.โ
โ Occasionally still brings it up just to hear you reassure her you belong to her and no one else.
โ Starts ending lectures early on days she knows youโll be aroundโwants more time just to see you on campus.
โ Jokes about getting a shirt for you that says MILFโbut taken by your professor.
โ And every time you walk into her office now? She kisses you like a declaration. Like a warning. Like a promise: mine. always mine.

part 1
โPlease leaveโ you heard her plead from behind you as you wipe the blood from your nose. You winched slightly as your face cloth touched your nose.
โI think its brokenโ you added as you stared at yourself in the mirror.
ย โdonโt change the topic babyโ Ellie said, a little louder this time. You saw her walk closer to you and you felt your body tense up immediately, waiting for her next move. Ellie watched as you tensed up not moving a muscle, you started down at the sink blood covering your hands and shirt.
โYouโre fucking scared of meโ
ย โno Iโm notโ
ย โyou areโ
โno Iโm not Ellieโ
ย Ellie let out a sigh of frustration, her hands coming up to her face, to rub her eyes. โI fucking-โshe started โI fucking punched you because you were washing the dishes too loudโ
โwe all get mad Ellie, you just needed to get your frustration outโ
โbut not on youโ Ellie yelled, grabbing the back of your head to make you look up to her. You let out a whimper, looking up at her with doe eyes waiting for her to hit you. Ellieโs eyes widened at what she had just done, immediately letting go of your head, she brought her hands to her face staring down at herself.
โlove isnโt supposed to hurtโ Ellie whispered
โlove is about forgivenessโ you added, giving her a small smile.
Ellie stayed quite after that. She wasnโt going to leave you, she loved you too much. She was angry. Angry at you forgiving her, for believing that she can change, and that you stayed with her. After everything sheโs done to you. Your fucking family doesnโt even talk to you anymore but you stayed with Ellie.
You sacrificed everything for her, but yet all she can do was hit you. And make you feel like less of a person.
Ellie let out a sigh as quietly sat up from your bed. She looked over to you, your body covered in bruises and scars. You nose was swelling, and it was starting to turn purple, yep it was definitely broken.
Ellie realized that she had to do something. She would never leave you so she had to fix herself. She had to figure out how to stop the violence that was brewing inside her. Ellie knew therapy was bullshit, so she wouldnโt go.
How was talking about your emotions and trauma helpful?
Ellie had a better solution. She knew what she was going to do to keep you safe, and away from her anger.
ย Ellie pressed a kiss to your forehead before she got up, and she walked towards the door of your bedroom. Ellie turned around one more time, looking at your sleeping form.
โIโm not going to hurt you anymoreโ she spoke, to you, as if you were awake and listening.
Ellie walked out the door, hoping her plan would work.
There was only one man who could help her. The man who made her the way she is, the man that traumatized her beyond repair.
Her father.
He was the only one who could help her.
As Ellie stood outside her childhood home, her heartbeat quickened. Ellie hasnโt had contact with her father for over 6 years now. As she walked up the driveway, she got flashbacks from all the times her father pulled her over his lap and beat her so hard she couldnโt sit for days on the porch she was standing on right at this moment. How he would make her scrub the driveway with her toothbrush.
Ellieโs eyes filled with tears as all the memories came back to her. She stood at the door for a while wondering if this was a good idea. She was doing this for you to keep you safe from her. So yes, this was a good idea.
Her shaky hand came up as she knocked on the dark oak door. She stood outside for a while before the door opened and she was met with the man she thought she would never have to face again.
A disgusting grin spread across his face:
โWelcome homeโ
part 3

๐๐๐บ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐: Whatโs the point of living, if you arenโt by her side?
Ellie lay on her back with her eyes closed. The sun shining on her pale and freckled skin. She hummed at the feeling of the grass scraping against her arms. The soft sound of water gushing could be heard from below her, as the two of you lay on a hill, she couldnโt be happier. She was away from Jackson. Away from everything and everyone. And the love of her life lay next to her. Ellie smiled softly just thinking of you. This is what she has always wanted. To be with you, in a beautiful place far away from everything. She loved you more than anything. All Ellie wanted to do is keep you safe, and moving as far away from people and most living things was the best option in her eyes. The safest option. If the two of you were this far away from any infected and people you both would be safe.
Ellieโs thoughts of keeping you safe were interrupted by a soft whisper of her name. She turned her head to look at you, and you were already looking at her. Ellie gave you a soft smile, taking in your features. Youโve been together for years but fuck, you were beautiful. She wasnโt lying when she said you were the prettiest girl she had ever seen. Every time she looked at you, was like sheโs seeing you for the first time all over again. She always wondered how she got lucky by getting someone like you. You were way out of her league.
You and Ellie lay there just looking at each other for a while, before you spoke up
โYou know, you have to let go of meโ
โI canโtโ
โEllieโ you said, your tone sounding desperate and frustrated. You sat up and Ellie followed you by sitting up as well, you rubbed your hands across your face and you let out a sigh. Ellie gently put her hand on your shoulder.
โPleaseโ you whispered, voice barley above whisper. โI canโt rest in peaceโ you continued your sentence
โYou arenโt deadโ Ellie said quickly
โI amโ
โNo youโre notโ Ellie said loudly, tears running down her face as she got up and looked down at you
You looked up at her and gave her an apologetic smile โEllie wake upโ
โBaby pleaseโ
โEllie wake upโ
Ellie sat up in her bed covered in cold sweat and tears. It was dream. A fucking dream. Ellie laid back down with a huff, and turned to your side of the bed. She let out loud broken sobs as she reached out to grab your pillow and she held it to her chest sobbing.
3 months ago you and Ellie had got married. It was a beautiful ceremony, and you both were surrounded by your friends and family. It was everything Ellie dreamed of. Your wedding reminded her of all those wedding magazines she always saw when she was out on runs. She never imagined, that she would ever get married. Until she met you. She wanted to spend the rest of her life with you.
3 days after the wedding tragedy struck. Ellie hated it when you went on patrol, but they were short on people due to both Ellie and Jesse being sick. Ellie had a gut feeling that morning when she woke up. Something was wrong. But she pushed the feeling aside, not wanting to upset herself. Later that day Ellie went to the gates of Jackson to wait for you. She got into her best outfit and used some 22-year-old perfume. The high of being married has not run out yet and she planned to take you out that night. She still couldnโt believe it; youโve been married for 3 whole days.
As Ellie made her way to the gate, paramedics were running to the gate, and her heart dropped at the sight. She saw people running to you. Your lifeless body laid there. Bruised. Bleeding. It was very obvious you were not breathing. And there was blood everywhere.
Tears fell from her eyes as she reached out to grab you, but Tommy held Ellie back as the paramedics were trying to resuscitate you.
Ellie screamed, she fought Tommy. She did everything to make him let go of her but she couldnโt, his grip was too strong.
Ellie watched as they tried. โPlease babyโ she begged over and over again. Broken sobs and sentences left her lips. Please just get up. ย It felt like an eternity, but at some point they stood up. The paramedics gave Ellie an apologetic smile and apologized saying there was nothing they could do to save you. As soon as they said that Ellieโs world came crashing down.
As the months went by, Ellie lost herself. She doesnโt eat she doesnโt sleep. She canโt do anything but cry. She had no purpose. No one to look after. She felt worthless. Lonely. She felt lost without you. She was not going to move on. You were the only one for her. Ellie slowly walked to the bathroom, pained by all the memories this house has of you. Ellie didnโt want to live without you. There was no point.
Ellie spent that day with her family. And she was happy. Content. She made a choice. And she was happy with her decision. As she bid her goodbyes, the Millers watched her walk home.
โDonโt you think she was a little too happy?โ Joel asked concerned about Ellieโs behavior.
โNo, I donโt think soโ Maria commented
ย โJust be happy for her sheโs healingโ she added
Joel just nodded Mariaโs words. There was definitely something wrong with Ellie.
Ellie laid on her side of the bed holding your pillow. She smiled at a picture of you, that was on the wall. Ellieโs eyes drifted from the photo, to an empty pill bottle.
โIโll join you soon babyโ she whispered.
โNot even death can separate usโ
And those were the last words Ellie Williams ever said.
Her body was found two days later. As sad as it was, Joel knew how much she loved you. He knew she wouldnโt be able to live without you. All Joel hopes, is that if there is a god out there, that he put you two together. That you and Ellie spent eternity together. Because thatโs all Ellie wanted. Ellie wanted to be with you forever. No matter who or what it takes, no matter who she had to hurt, she was going to be with you forever.

part 1
Ellie wasnโt looking for you. Not really. Sheโd said she needed air, mumbled something to Dina, shrugged on her jacket like it didnโt matter. Like you didnโt matter.
But she was lying.
She always ends up where you are, even if it hurts. Maybe especially when it hurts.
She spots you across the street near the stablesโlaughing. That laugh she used to pull from you with nothing but a dumb smirk and a too-obvious comment. Now itโs aimed at someone else. A girl with soft eyes and hands that brush yours like itโs easy to touch you. Like itโs allowed.
Ellie freezes. Then burns.
Youโre smiling. Really smiling. And worseโyouโre letting her touch you. Her fingers graze your wrist, and you donโt flinch, donโt yank away, donโt do anything.
Ellieโs jaw tightens. Sheโs already crossing the street before her mind catches up.
You donโt notice her until sheโs closeโtoo closeโand suddenly your smile is gone.
The other girl glances up, startled, and Ellie doesnโt even look at her. Sheโs locked on you like youโre the only oxygen she knows how to breathe.
โWhat the fuck is this?โ she spits, low and sharp.
You stiffen. โEllieโdonโt.โ
The other girl opens her mouth, but Ellie finally turns, snarling, โI donโt remember talking to you.โ
โEllie, stop,โ you snap, stepping between them.
She laughsโempty and wounded. โRight. Of course. Gotta defend your new girl, huh?โ
โSheโs notโโ you start, but Ellieโs already unraveling.
โIs that all it takes? A few dumb jokes and someone who actually sticks around?โ Her voice cracks, and she hates herself for it. "i thought you loved me"
โI did,โ you whisper. โI do. But you keep leaving, Ellie. And coming back like Iโm just supposed to wait.โ
Ellie flinches like you slapped her. โYou were supposed to wait,โ she says, almost childlike.
Silence chokes the air between you.
โIโm not yours anymore,โ you say, and you sound so tired.
But Ellie steps forward anyway, eyes wild and aching. โYes, you are.โ
You shake your head, but sheโs already cupping your cheekโroughly, desperatelyโand her voice is barely above a whisper now.
โPlease. Donโt make me watch you with someone else. Donโtโdonโt do that to me.โ
And itโs there, that Ellie-thing you used to know. The trembling lip. The stubborn tears. The girl who would rather tear the whole world apart than let herself be left behind again.
โCome home with me,โ she says.
And you hate her for it. Because youโre going to say yes.

โNow I got you in my space
I wonโt let go of you.โ
You werenโt supposed to meet her.
You were just passing through. One night, shelter from the rain, a hot meal traded for clean bullets. Then you saw herโ
tattooed arm, flannel rolled to the elbows, eyes sharp like she was built of steel and sorrow.
She didnโt say much that first night. But she watched you.
And you watched her back.
People in the commune whispered about Ellie Williams. About what sheโd done. Something about vengeance. Something about blood. But no one dared speak it aloud.
Except you.
You werenโt scared of her. You were intrigued. You thought you could handle it.
Oh, how wrong you were....
Somehow, it became a routine.
She'd show up at your cabin. Late. Unannounced. She never knocked.
Sometimes she came with a cut on her lip. Dirt on her hands. Sometimes she didnโt say a wordโjust grabbed you by the collar and kissed you like she was trying to fuse your bones together.
It was thrilling. Addictive.
You never asked where she went. You didnโt want to know. Because deep down, you liked it.
The chaos. The danger.
The way she latched onto you like you were the only thing left in the world keeping her human.
And you let her.
One night, she doesnโt come home. You wait. You pace. You ask around. Thenโsomeone finds her.
Covered in blood. Breathing, barely. A man dead beside her with his throat slashed.
She wonโt say what happened. But something in her eyes is... off. Hollow.
You nurse her back to health. She never thanks you. But she doesnโt leave, either. That night, she holds you tighter than she ever has. You wake up unable to breathe.
And thatโs when the dreams start.
Blood. Wolves. Her face but twisted. Smiling.
You should've been scared. But you latched onto her.
You find a journal in Ellieโs bag. You know you shouldnโt look. But you do.
Inside: drawings. Of you. Over and over.
Sometimes smiling. Sometimes sleeping. Sometimes... injured.
One page stops your heart.
It's you, lying dead. Ellie crying beside your body.
A note scribbled beneath: โIf I lose her, I lose everything.โ
You shut the book. Pretend you didnโt see.
But something shifts after that.
You start to feel itโhow tightly she watches you, how she tenses when you talk to others, how she clutches your wrist, not your hand.
This isnโt love.
Itโs possession and you were stuck.
You try to leave one night as she slept peacefully.
She catches you before you reach the gate.
"Where are you going?" Her voice is low. Calm. Terrifying.
"Ellie... I can't breathe anymore."
She steps closer.
โYou said I made you feel safe.โ
"You did. But now it feels like a cage."
Something flickers behind her eyes. And she smiles.
โThen I guess I have to make the cage prettier.โ
She gently took your hand, and she took you back inside. You were trapped. She could've put you into a cage and you would've preferred that.
One night, you manage it. You drug her water. You run.
You make it to the riverbank. Steal a boat. You're free.
Or so you thought...
Until someone jumps from the shadowsโ
a blade to your neck.
But itโs not Ellie.
Itโs Dina. Bruised and alive.
โGet away from her,โ Dina spoke with a voice filled with sympathy. โSheโll never let you go.โ
Your mind spins. โButโshe said you were goneโโ
โShe wanted you to think that.โ Dina starts as she slowly brings the blade away from your neck.
"You need to get away"
Ellie appears behind her. Calm. Smiling.
"You were never meant to find each other," Ellie says. Both you and Dinas head snaps into the direction of her voice. You felt your body go cold. Dina's eyes widen with fear.
You can't even recall what happened next. All you remember was the sound of gunshots. It was all a blur.
Dina shoots first.
Ellie dodges.
You grab the gun and fireโ
Ellie collapses.
You donโt breathe until her eyes close.
You watched Ellie- the women who has been tormenting you for the last few months bleed to death on the ground before you.
You hear Dina talking. You don't even know what she's saying, the only sound you could hear was the ringing in your ears.
Months went by and you live with Dina now. The two of you donโt talk about Ellie.
You donโt talk about how you sometimes wake up reaching for her.
You donโt talk about how, sometimes, you still hear her voice.
And you definitely donโt talk about the page in her journal you kept.
The one that wasnโt of you dead. The one where she drew herself, alone.
Underneath, it read: โIf I let go, I lose her.โ
If she scared you so much, why are you still latching onto her?

Hi love would you mind making a part for professor!ellie where reader is pregnant again OR when their daughter grows up ?
Amazing work btw
Headcannons: professor!ellie williams x reader

professor ellie masterlist
โ Auroraโs favorite thing to do is sit on Ellieโs lap during her late-night grading sessions, asking questions like, โAre your students as smart as me?โ
โ She wears glasses just like Ellie nowโreader thinks theyโre twins.
โ Aurora mimics Ellieโs mannerisms, like adjusting her glasses when sheโs nervous or tilting her head when thinking.
โ She already knows how to read short paragraphs and corrects peopleโs grammarโeven Ellieโs, which makes her beam with pride.
โ Aurora's drawings always include three peopleโMama, Mommy, and herโbut now a fourth baby blob is starting to appear in the corner labeled โArny.โ
โ When you went into labor, Aurora tried to pack her own bag โto help,โ which included crayons, a banana, and Ellieโs old lecture clicker.
โ Ellie sometimes brings Aurora to campus events. She introduces her proudly with โThis is my daughter. Sheโs smarter than my entire first-year class.โ
โ Aurora makes Ellie bracelets from string and demands she wear them even during lectures. She always does.
โ Aurora asks science questions constantly. Ellie answers all of them with a whiteboard and diagrams.
โ You once walked in on Aurora โlecturingโ her stuffed animals, using Ellieโs tone exactly.
โ Ellie writes down Auroraโs quotes in a leather-bound โAurora Archiveโ journal.
โ She refers to Ellie as โthe smartest person aliveโ and you as โthe prettiest.โ
โ Auroraโs handwriting practice turned into a full essay on why โMommy Ellie is too bossy, but I still love her.โ
โ Ellie was obsessively thorough about the IVF process, reading every published study on embryo grading, success rates, and maternal health. She made color-coded charts for each clinic they considered.
โ The decision to have a second child came after Aurora turned five, when she looked up at them one night and asked, โWhy donโt I have a baby brother or sister?โ
โ Ellie wanted a boy this time, not because she loved Aurora any less, but because she was fascinated by how different he might be โ still theirs, but uniquely his own.
โ You carried Arnold, just like with Aurora, and Ellie was even more attentive this timeโbringing snacks, checking nutrient levels, monitoring stress like a hawk.
โ You used the same donor, ensuring Arnold and Aurora were biologically related, and Ellie cried when they found out the embryo had successfully implanted.
โ Ellie held her breath during every scan, gripping your hand tightly until they saw that tiny heartbeat flicker on the screen.
โ At home, Ellie converted her study into a nursery months before it was needed, painting it a rich forest green and hanging hand-painted space-themed art on the walls.
โ She read academic articles aloud to your belly, mumbling about epigenetics and language development, hoping Arnold would be a little genius like his sister.
โ Aurora would whisper secrets to her unborn brother, telling him what not to do so โMama doesnโt freak out.โ
โ You and Ellie filmed short video diaries for Arnold, each one ending with Aurora saying, โHurry up and come out, dummy.โ
โ Your pregnancy with Arnold was harder than Auroraโs โ more nausea, more exhaustion โ and Ellie handled everything from meals to laundry to carrying you to bed if you fell asleep on the couch.
โ Ellie barely slept the night you went into labor, pacing in circles around their bedroom and triple-checking the hospital bag every 10 minutes.
โ When Arnold was born, Ellie was the first to cry, trembling as she cut the umbilical cord and kissed your sweaty forehead, whispering, โYou did it. Heโs here.โ
โ Arnold was a quiet babyโunlike his fiery older sisterโand when the nurse handed him to Ellie, he blinked up at her with wide, moss-green eyes.
โ Aurora was the first to hold Arnold after them, sitting carefully on the hospital bed, her small arms wrapped awkwardly around her baby brother, declaring, โHe smells weird. But heโs cute.โ
โ Ellie took an extended sabbatical from the university, something she never did for herself, but did without hesitation for Arnold and you.
โ She kept a detailed baby log, recording every feeding, nap, and developmental milestone like it was groundbreaking research. (โHe smiled at 4 weeks. Do you know how rare that is?โ)
โ You would often find Ellie in the middle of the night, swaying gently in the rocking chair with Arnold on her chest, whispering about constellations and music theory.
โ Aurora helped with diaper changes, read bedtime stories to Arnold (whether he was awake or not), and told everyone at school, โI have a brother. Heโs gonna be smarter than all of you.โ
โ Ellie constantly takes pictures of the three of youโyou nursing, Aurora playing peekaboo, Arnold asleep on Ellieโs chest. She prints them, dates them, and keeps them in a growing archive labeled The Love We Made.
โ Arnold has Ellie wrapped around his tiny fingers alreadyโshe holds him like heโs made of glass.
โ She was an emotional wreck the day he was born, whispering โYouโre here. Youโre real,โ over and over.
โ Ellie sobbed in the hospital bathroom, clutching a photo of Aurora and trying to calm her nerves before holding Arnold for the first time.
โ She made laminated feeding/diapering schedules and color-coded copies for both reader and herself.
โ Ellie insisted on staying awake every night at first. You had to force her to rest by dragging her to bed.
โ Her obsession with checking his breathing every 20 minutes has led to installing four different monitors.
โ Ellie reads academic articles to him during nap timeโโgotta start the kid early.โ
โ His nursery is space-themed. Ellie picked every star and constellation herself and even made a mobile from scratch.
โ She prints out graphs of his growth and annotates them.
โ You caught Ellie softly kissing Arnoldโs forehead while murmuring, โIโll protect you forever. I promise.โ
โ She calls him โmy little theoryโ because she wants to โtest how much love a person can feel before they combust.โ
โ Ellie holds Arnold for hours while writing lectures one-handed, content even if it takes twice as long.
โ She talks about him constantly at workโโSorry my emailโs late. My son drooled on my laptop.โ
โ Ellie insisted on giving him a middle name that references a philosopherโArnold Pascal Williams.
โ She puts little leather-bound books in his crib for aesthetic photos.
โ Ellie made a password-protected photo archive titled โArnold Growth Logs.โ
โ She has framed side-by-side ultrasound pictures of Aurora and Arnold on her office wall.
โ You found Ellie singing lullabies in Hebrew and Latin just for โacademic diversity.โ
โ Sheโs more patient with Arnold than sheโs ever been with anyone.
โ Ellieโs phone is overloaded with baby picsโshe has a folder just labeled โArnsmol.โ
โ She wrote a 10-page email to the pediatrician just asking about sleep regression.
โ Ellie gets extremely possessive when someone other than you or Aurora holds Arnold.
โ Her glasses fog up when she gets overwhelmed watching both kids together.
โ Arnoldโs first smile made Ellie go silent for ten minutes, then cry like a waterfall.
โ She lowkey competes with you over who Arnold calms down with faster.
โ She stares at you when sheโs breastfeeding, completely mesmerized.
โ Ellie reads textbooks on postpartum care so she can understand everything reader is experiencing.
โ She canceled her own faculty conference trip because Arnold had a cold.
โ Ellie redesigned her lecture schedule so she never misses bedtime for either child.
โ Ellieโs gone full mama bearโshe snapped at a stranger who called Arnold โit.โ
โ She started a private blog documenting her โMotherhood and Academiaโ journey, but only you have the link.
โ Ellie sometimes forgets to eat if the babyโs cryingโbut never forgets to feed him.
โ You teases Ellie about her โunofficial PhD in parenting.โ Ellie secretly loves it.
โ Arnoldโs first laugh made Ellie record five videos trying to recreate the sound.
โ She leaves love notes inside your breast pump bag.
โ She wants to homeschool both kidsโyour not fully convinced yet.
โ Ellie smells Arnoldโs head constantly. Says itโs โbaby serotonin.โ
โ Ellie cried when Aurora said โArnold is my best friend forever.โ
โ Sheโs started humming lullabies even while writing lectures now.
โ She talks to Arnold about how theyโll build rockets or dissect frogs together someday.
โ Ellie calls Aurora and Arnold her โentire thesis on love.โ
โ She still panics during diaper changesโeven though sheโs read three parenting books.
โ Ellie smells like baby lotion, chalkboard dust, and coffee now.
โ Her voice softens immediately when either kid cries.
โ Ellie doodles tiny versions of Aurora and Arnold in her margins during meetings.
โ Ellie sometimes stares at you and just whispers, โHow did I get this lucky?โ
โ She tells Arnold he looks like you, then whispers, โthank god.โ
โ Ellie calls their family of four โthe most important study sheโll ever conduct.โ

Summary: Ellie was quiet at first, just watching from the background โ protective, helpful, always there. But her interest wasnโt harmless. This story contains dark and emotionally intense themesโplease read with care. You are responsible for what you consume online. Please read the warnings before reading.
Ellie didnโt remember when it startedโwhen you became the only person she thought about. Maybe it was that time you sat two rows ahead of her in biology, your head tilted slightly, scribbling so fast in your notebook she thought smoke might rise from the page. Or maybe it was when you laughed at something stupid the professor said, that quiet little snort that made her chest feel too tight.
It didnโt matter. All Ellie knew was that you were hersโeven if you didnโt know it yet.
She wasnโt stupid. She didnโt approach you like some lovesick idiot. No, she watched. Observed. She knew your routines down to the minute. Mondays, you always bought the cheap coffee from the cart near the arts building. Wednesdays, you skipped your last class and sat alone under the fig tree near the library with a book in your lap, legs crossed, headphones in. You always listened to that sad indie shit, the kind that made Ellie feel like your soul was a snow globe someone had shaken too hard.
She memorized the curve of your neck when you tied your hair up. The way you rubbed your thumb against your phone case when you were nervous. The way you always said โthank youโ to the cleaning staff. You were good. Pure. You didnโt belong in a world like thisโsurrounded by people who wouldnโt protect you the way Ellie would.
So she started small. A bump in the hallway. An apologetic smile. The โaccidentalโ sighting at your favorite coffee spot. She watched the way your eyes lit up when someone remembered your name. She made sure to say it just loud enough that youโd hear it from behind you in lineโlike it had only just occurred to her. โOh, hey, y/n, right?โ
You smiled. And Ellieโs obsession twisted tighter.
She told herself sheโd wait. That sheโd earn your trust. That youโd come to her in time, love her the way she already loved youโdesperately, painfully. But every time she saw you talking to someone else, laughing too loud with some guy in class, her hands clenched in her jacket pockets until her nails drew blood.
She followed you home twice. Not closeโnever too close. She just needed to see. Needed to know you were safe. That no one had touched you. That you were still hers, even if you didnโt realize it yet.
And then came the night she saw you crying on your porch, phone to your ear, voice shaking as you muttered, โItโs just been a lot lately.โ
That night, Ellie sat awake in bed until 4 a.m., writing a letter she never sent. She had to be careful. She didnโt want to scare you. Not yet.
But you needed her. Youโd always needed her.
And Ellie would wait. Quiet. Patient. Because love like thisโraw and unshakableโwasn't something people found in this world anymore.
She just had to make you see it.
The first time Ellie spoke to you, really spoke to you, was when she โaccidentallyโ sat next to you in the library.
You were curled up near the window, highlighters scattered across your table like candy. Your brows were furrowed, a half-finished smoothie sweating beside your laptop. You looked stressed, overwhelmed, and so goddamn beautiful in your chaos that Ellie could hardly breathe.
She slid into the seat beside you like it wasnโt calculated. Like she hadnโt waited for this exact time and day, tracked when you usually studied alone here. Her notebook hit the table with a soft thud, and you looked up, a little surprised.
โOhโฆ hey,โ you said with a polite smile.
Ellie felt the burn of her heart thudding in her throat. โHey. Sorry, didnโt realize this spot was taken.โ
โItโs okay,โ you offered quickly, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. โYou can sit. I donโt mind.โ
Of course you donโt, she thought. Youโre so kind. Youโd let the devil sit here if he smiled the right way.
She didnโt say anything for a while. Just opened her notebook, pretending to study, even though her eyes flicked to you every other second. She watched the way your pen tapped against your notes. Watched the crease between your brows deepen.
โYou look like your brainโs about to melt,โ Ellie joked softly.
You laughed โ you laughed โ and Ellie felt her ribs close in around her lungs.
โTell me about it,โ you sighed. โI have a paper due and like, zero motivation.โ
And just like that, the door cracked open. Ellie stepped inside your world with a careful smile.
โI could help, if you want. Iโm decent at writing. Got a lot of practice, thanks to Dr. Collinsโ essay-from-hell last semester.โ
Your eyes lit up in a way that made her throat ache. โWait โ you had Collins? You survived?โ
โBarely,โ Ellie chuckled. โBut yeah. I made it out alive.โ
You scooted over just a bit, angling your laptop toward her. โI will accept any and all help. Seriously.โ
And that was it. Ellie was in.
She started popping up more โ casual run-ins that were anything but accidental. She brought you coffee on the days she knew you had early classes. She left sticky notes on your desk in the library with dumb little jokes. You laughed every time. It was perfect.
But then you started talking about someone. A guy.
A classmate. A friend, you said.
Ellieโs hand clenched around her pen so tight it snapped.
You didnโt notice. You just kept talking, smiling softly, voice floating with affection.
That night, Ellie followed him home.
Just watched from a distance, hoodie up, breath steady despite the adrenaline in her veins. She just needed to know where he lived. Who he was. Whether he was a threat.
And when she saw him ignore your texts, leave you on read for hours, Ellie made her decision.
He wasnโt good enough for you.
She would be patient. But not forever.
You were already hers. She was just taking her time showing you that.
Ellie didnโt sleep for days after she saw your face fall when you mentioned him again โ that guy. The one who didnโt deserve to breathe the same air as you.
She watched as you waited on campus, phone in hand, eyes scanning the crowd. You were standing outside your lecture hall, hands fidgeting with the sleeves of your sweater. Youโd dressed nice today โ makeup done, hair a little neater than usual.
All for him.
And he didnโt show.
Not until twenty minutes later, slouched and half-interested, offering a sheepish smile and a shrug like that could make up for your disappointment.
You smiled anyway. You always did.
Ellieโs jaw locked. Her breath stayed even. Her eyes didnโt blink.
Heโd made you wait. Heโd made you feel small.
She followed him home again, but this time she didnโt stay outside.
She waited until the lights in his apartment went dark. Waited until he was alone, headphones in, playing some stupid game on his console. He never even heard her come in.
The first hit wasnโt lethal. A metal pipe to the side of the knee โ deliberate, punishing, shattering bone and pride in a single sickening crunch. The scream was immediate, high-pitched and raw.
She shoved him down hard, duct tape already in hand.
โIโm only going to say this once,โ she muttered, eyes dark and unshaking. โYou donโt talk to her again. You donโt look at her again.โ
He gurgled something behind the tape, tears already running down his face.
Ellie leaned in, face inches from his. โYou donโt even think about her. Got it?โ
She didnโt wait for a reply. She didnโt need one.
Hours passed. Time didnโt matter. The sounds he made were pathetic, and she took her time โ slow, cold, efficient. He needed to understand.
When she was done, she left him tied and bloody, tossed across the room like garbage. Alive. Barely. But enough to live in fear.
A message.
A warning.
No police report would follow โ she knew his type. Weak. Cowardly. A memory she'd already erased from your life.
The next day, you looked a little confused, almost concerned. You mentioned you hadnโt heard from him.
โHe probably ghosted me,โ you said, trying to laugh it off. โWouldnโt be the first time a guy flaked.โ
Ellie put a hand gently on your shoulder.
โI donโt think you need someone like that anyway.โ
You looked at her, softer than she expected. โYeah,โ you said quietly. โMaybe youโre right.โ
You didnโt pull away when she touched your arm. You leaned into her comfort. Into her warmth.
It was working.
Ellie smiled all the way home, blood still under her nails.
You didnโt think much of it when Ellie offered to drive you home that night. You were both on campus, it was dark, cold. And you trusted her to an extent.
It was late, you were tired, and she was already waiting by your car, leaning against it like it was hers. You hesitated โ maybe because something in her eyes looked different. But she smiled, soft and familiar, and you told yourself you were being paranoid.
You shouldnโt have gotten in.
The drive started off normal enough. Familiar roads. Ellie humming lowly to a song you used to love. But then she made a turn you didnโt recognize. And then another. You frowned, asked her where she was going. She didnโt answer at first โ just tapped the steering wheel and said, โShortcut.โ
You stopped memorizing the turns after a while. There were too many. Too quick. Trees instead of buildings. Darkness instead of streetlights. Your phone? Gone. She'd taken it before you even noticed.
โEllie, turn around.โ
She didnโt. Her knuckles were white on the wheel, jaw tight, eyes forward.
โYouโll be safe now,โ she muttered, almost to herself. โFinally.โ
Your pulse pounded. You tried the door once โ it was locked. The child-lock kind. Her kind.
You never expected it from her. Sweet, quiet Ellie. The one who helped you study, who brought you soup when you were sick. But this Ellie was different โ sharper, obsessive, like she'd been waiting to snap.
Eventually, the road ended, and the cabin appeared โ old, isolated, deep in the woods where no one could hear you scream. You begged. You reasoned. You cried. But Ellie only looked at you like sheโd finally gotten everything she ever wanted.
โYou donโt need anyone else,โ she whispered, pressing a kiss to your forehead as she led you inside. โYou have me now.โ
The days began to bleed together.
You didnโt know how long you had been in Ellieโs cabinโif you could even call it that. Hidden somewhere deep in the mountains, no cell service, no internet, no roads visible from the windows. Just trees. Endless, quiet trees.
At first, you screamed. You cried. You didnโt eat.
Ellie didnโt punish you for it. She just watched. Quiet. Patient. Like a wolf waiting for a limb to go still so she could safely bite off the infection.
โYouโll feel better if you eat,โ sheโd whisper. Her voice low, cracked like old vinyl. โI made your favorite. I remember you said it onceโฆ back in class. Thought I wasnโt listening, huh?โ
She remembered everything.
The chipped nail polish you used to wear. The way your eyes fluttered when you were nervous. The offhanded comments you made about never feeling seen.
โI see you,โ she told you one night. And something in her voice made your stomach flipโnot in fear. Somethingโฆ deeper.
You hated that part.
You hated that after four days, your hands stopped shaking every time she opened the door. That on day five, when you cried and she wiped your tears with her thumbs, you didnโt pull away.
โIt's okay,โ Ellie whispered. โHeโs gone. He canโt hurt you anymore.โ
You wanted to scream that he didnโt hurt you. That Ellie was the only one who ever had. But your voice cracked. And you didnโt want to see that look in her eyes againโthe one that was both love and danger, stitched into the same grin.
She started brushing your hair.
โI used to imagine this,โ she murmured. โYou, right here. Safe. Close to me.โ
Her hands were gentle. Too gentle. As if afraid you'd break.
โYouโre learning to trust me now, arenโt you?โ
You didnโt answer. But your head leaned ever so slightly into her touch.
That night, she let you out of the room for the first time. Not outsideโnever outsideโbut into her world. Books. Sketches. Maps marked with little red Xs.
โThis is everything I builtโฆ for you.โ
There was a soft bed in the corner. New sheets. Lavender scented.
โYou can sleep here tonight,โ she said, fingers brushing your lower back. โCloser to me.โ
And you did.
It wasn't trust. Not really. Maybe exhaustion. Maybe your mind, frayed from isolation. But when Ellie wrapped her arms around you under the thick quilt, and whispered โyouโre mineโ against your hair, something inside you cracked.
Not a break.
A splinter.
You stopped counting the days.
There was no point. No clocks, no sunlight. Just the quiet hum of Ellieโs voice when she read to you at night. The sound of her boots on the wooden floor. The soft clink of silverware she set down with each careful meal.
There was something peaceful about itโif you didnโt think too hard.
You had screamed. Begged. Raged. And still, she had stayed. Never yelling. Never raising her hand. Just watching. Waiting.
Now, you didnโt scream.
You didnโt fight when she helped you bathe. When she dried your hair with a towel that smelled like pine and her.
You didnโt flinch when she kissed your cheek and whispered, โGood girl.โ
Sheโd reward you when you were obedient. More time out of the room. A book. A blanket from home. A drawing of you she spent hours perfectingโeyes too soft, mouth too sad.
"Youโre safer now,โ she murmured one night, tracing your collarbone with her fingertips. โYou donโt have to run anymore.โ
You didnโt answer. Because she was right. There was nowhere to run. Not anymore.
The turning point wasnโt loud. It didnโt come with violence. It came with a whisper. A flicker. A moment where you looked in the mirror and didnโt recognize the fear in your eyes anymore.
You saw her.
Ellie.
All-consuming. Ever-present. Everything.
So when she curled into bed beside you that night, wrapping her arms around your waist and burying her face into the crook of your neck, you let her.
You didnโt close your eyes right away. You stared at the wooden beams above. You breathed with her. Matched her rhythm.
"I knew youโd come around,โ she said softly. โI just had to be patient. You were always mine. You just didnโt know it yet.โ
You didnโt cry. You didnโt flinch.
You just let her hold you, let her hand find yours, let her whisper love into your skin like it was salvation, not damnation.
In the morning, she painted your nails. Brushed your hair with a comb sheโd carved your name into. Called you her wife.
You didnโt correct her. What was the point?
She kissed your temple.
โYouโre perfect now,โ Ellie said. โExactly how I dreamed youโd be.โ
And in her green eyesโthose bright, haunting eyesโyou saw it:
Obsession disguised as love. Love tainted with control.
And you?
You were no longer a prisoner. You were a possession.
And slowlyโterrifyinglyโyou were starting to want to be.
The cabin was warm. Not just in temperature, but in the way Ellie moved through it like it was a home you built together.
Your toothbrush sat next to hers now. Sheโd written your name on a tag and tied it with twine.
There was a mug on the counterโchipped and fadedโthat said โWorldโs Best Wife.โ You werenโt sure where she found it. You didnโt ask.
You never asked anymore. Ellie called it your honeymoon phase.
She woke you gently every morning with kisses to your shoulder. She cooked, always your favorite dishesโeggs, tomatoes, sourdough bread, strawberries. She pulled your chair out at the table and watched you eat like it was her reward for every horrible thing she'd done to bring you here.
You werenโt chained anymore. But the door was always locked.
You didnโt try it anymore, not since the last timeโwhen sheโd found you standing in the kitchen, your hand hovering over the doorknob, and her voice had gone cold in that way that turned your bones to ice.
โYouโre not thinking of leaving me,โ sheโd said, stepping closer. โNot after everything Iโve done for you. Right, baby?โ
You had nodded. Fast. Too fast. She forgave you. But not without consequence.
That night, she didnโt let you out of bedโnot even for water. She held you tight, almost bruising, whispered how much it scared her to think of you gone. How sheโd die without you. How sheโd kill for you.
You believed her. You still did.
Now, she was too happy.
She sang while she cooked. Danced with you in the living room, hands firm on your waist, eyes never blinking. She kissed your forehead too long. Said things like โI love you more every second,โ and โYou donโt need anyone else. Just me.โ
You nodded every time.
And yetโฆ something in her had started to snap again.
It was little things at first. The silence when you mentioned your old life. The way her jaw clenched when you looked too long at the photo of your family sheโd allowed you to keep.
Then came the photos. The ones she took of you while you were asleep. Hundreds of them.
Piled in boxes. Taped to the walls of a room you werenโt allowed to enter until she โsurprisedโ you one night.
โI just love you so much,โ she breathed, showing you the shrine. โI had to make something that felt like you were everywhere.โ
You had smiled. You didnโt know what else to do.
But the worst came next.
She came back from town covered in blood.
You had askedโtrembling, afraid, already knowing.
And Ellieโฆ she didnโt lie.
โHe kept asking about you,โ she said. โYour ex. The one who used to text. I couldnโt have that, baby. I wonโt let them take you from me.โ
She cupped your cheek with her bloodied hand, eyes soft, voice like silk.
โI did it for us.โ
You didnโt scream. You didnโt cry.
Because in your heart, that last thread of resistance had snapped.
You realized something then:
You werenโt staying because you were trapped.
You were staying because this was the only place her love made sense anymore.
Twisted. Devoted. Terrifying.
But yours.

Your word and my word and her word is
Yesterday, today and tomorrow
And twilight gives me, an inner sanctity
And you're feeling, and you're hungry for her
And you don't understand it
But you know you haven't planned it
Your feelings and mine are all lonely
And dawn comes you're there lying with me
And you reach out to touch me, but I am in the twilight
You heard Ellie let out a sigh as she continued venting to you about Dina.
Stupid Dina.
Seems like all Ellie could talk about was her.
Why her? Out of all the people on the fucking planet why did it have to be Dina?
"She said "hey Ellie" and she didn't even smile with me! like what the fuck???" Ellie practically yelled with frustration.
You rolled your eyes at Ellie.
"Ellie calm down maybe she had a bad day"
Ellie stopped pacing around the room to look at you.
"Yeah.... you're right! She doesn't hate me she's just tired" Ellie said with a small smile.
You watched as Ellie lowered herself onto your bed and she looked up at you with a shy smile. She reached out her arms in your direction "cuddle?" she asked softly.
You let out a sigh as got into the bed spooning Ellie. She let out a hum of satisfaction.
"Ellie you need to stop doing this"
"doing what?"
you only shook your head and thought: "making me fall in love with you"
"friends don't cuddle" you brought up.
"Friends do" Ellie argued.
"Dina wouldn't like this" you added.
"well Dina isn't here right now" Ellie spoke matter of factly as she snuggled closer to you.
All you did was sigh as you brought your hand up to scratch Ellie's head. She let out a moan and she closed her eyes.
"You are a great friend, you know that?" Ellie spoke through a yawn.
Yeah, you were a great friend.
Your feelings and mine are all holy but,
You know and I know it's untrue because
When day dawns you're there lying with me
And the dawn can fly away
And you know I love you but you know that
There's nothing you can do about it
Because you love her, and you still want me
If I could be her... but I'm not her and she's not me
And you're somewhere different, on a different planet
You loved Ellie. You loved her a little more than a friend should.
Every time you saw her, your heart raced. She made you feel hot by just giving you a smile. Ellie made you feel things. Things you've never felt before.
You loved her.
But you knew she didn't feel the same.
You lay many nights next to Ellie, listening to her complain about Dina who's oblivious to Ellie's feelings.
It hurt you.
Seeing how Ellie always smiled when Dina walked into a room. Seeing how excited Ellie got, every time Dina said something. Every time Dina complimented Ellie, she almost exploded with joy.
It made you sick.
You tried being Dina.
Maybe Ellie would love you if you were someone else.
Maybe it was the way you did your hair? Was it the way you dressed? Was it the way you looked? What made Dina so special?
You tried cutting your hair the same length as Dina. You started dressing like her. You even copied her stupid music taste.
You tried. You tried so fucking hard.
But you could never be her and Ellie would never see you like that.
You knew Ellie loved you. She wanted you, but not in the same way you wanted her.
You were her best friend.
The girl she could go to with her problems, the girl who would help her with her hair and outfits.
You were nothing more than a friend.
You wanted to be Dina and you prayed to the gods that you could become her. But you didn't. You were nothing more than a friend in Ellie's eyes.
You saw how much Ellie's crush on Dina affected her.
How much it hurt her knowing that Dina most probably doesn't feel the same. And you being the amazing friend that you were, you decided to help Ellie.
You made it your mission to get them together.
Even though it hurt you knowing Ellie would never love you, as long as she was happy, you'd be happy too.
That's how you got yourself in your current position. Sitting across Dina in her apartment.
"So" you stared as you took a sip from the orange juice Dina gave you.
"we need to talk"
"about?"
"Ellie" "What about Ellie? Dina asked confused.
"do you have feelings for her?" you asked.
You watched as Dina burst out laughing, you watched as she threw her head back from laughing.
Anger sparked in you.
Why the fuck was she laughing? What's so fucking funny about liking Ellie?
After a while of Dina laughing, she slowed down breathing heavily before she let out a "Why would I like her? She's weird".
You felt your eye twitch before all hell broke loose.
How dare she say that about Ellie?
Your Ellie?
Ellie loved her so much and this is what Dina had to say?
This was the girl Ellie loved. She didn't deserve Ellie. If only she knew the amount of tears Ellie cried for her.
fucking bitch
You leaped from where you were sitting onto Dina, you straddled her as you punch her over and over again.
"How-"
*punch*
"dare-"
*punch*
"you"
*punch*
You don't even know how long you sat on her, and listened to her beg.
"Please" she whimpered as she tried getting you off her.
You eventually got off her breathing heavily as you looked down at your hands.
Your knuckles were bruised, and your hands covered in blood.
Dina's blood.
You looked over at her, seeing her slowly breathing. She didn't move, she didn't even make a sound.
Maybe she was unconscious.
You couldn't even recognize her with all the blood and bruises.
If Dina woke up, she would call the police. She would tell Ellie. Ellie would hate you.
You couldn't let that happen.
You slowly walked back from Dina, as you heard glass shatter. Your head snapped in the direction of the sound.
You saw pieces of glass scattered everywhere. And your orange juice was all over the floor.
Fuck you wanted to drink that.
You slowly bent down to pick up a shard of glass, and you held in your palm.
You walked towards Dina and you slowly pushed the glass into her trachea. You watched as the blood seeped from the wound.
You took a step back, leaving the glass shard in place. The blood dripped all over her throat and clothes, blood came out of her mouth.
Soon after Dina stopped breathing.
You killed her. You fucking killed someone.
You knew you made the right decision by killing Dina, because now you finally had Ellie to yourself.
And you still want it
The inner sanctity
And it's an evil
But the evil is necessary
And you're still hungry for her
And you still want her loving
But she doesn't love you
You watched as Ellie sat next to Dina's grave. She was sobbing.
Why the fuck was she crying over someone who didn't feel anything for her?
After Dina's death Ellie really struggled. She struggled to accept that the girl she loved wasn't here anymore. And what hurt Ellie the most was that Dina never knew.
Dina never knew the love Ellie had for her.
You watched Ellie spiral. You watched how she suffered.
Your plan was get rid of Dina, not the hurt the girl you loved.
Late at night when Ellie would lay in your arms you would sometimes feel regret for what you did. You didn't know it would affect Ellie the way it did, and you never wanted to hurt her. The guilt you felt soon get's replaced with pride when you realize that you got rid of the girl that was only going to hurt Ellie.
You saved Ellie. You saved her from rejection and embarrassment.
You knew she would get over it eventually.
Ellie's life wouldn't stop because her crush died. At some point she'll just have to accept it and you'll be here waiting for her with open arms.
You quietly walked towards Ellie as she sobbed next to Dina's grave, you raised your right hand putting it on her shoulder.
Ellie looked up at you, and in her eyes you could see how broken she was.
"It's ok Ellie" was all you said before she continued to sob into her hands.
You let out a sigh at the sight.
Months after Dina's death you realized that Ellie wasn't going to forget so easily.
You watched as she printed out pictures of her and Dina, and she placed it all over her apartment. You watched as she went to Dina's grave every week.
You listened to Ellie cry almost every night.
Even though you knew Dina didn't feel anything for her, Ellie still wanted her. Ellie still craved Dina.
Yes, she got affection from you, but you were never going to be enough.
All she wanted was Dina.
And you knew in the years to come Ellie wouldn't be able to move on and forget.
Even though you were there for her through everything. Even though you showed her nothing but love, the only person Ellie ever wanted was Dina.
She wanted Dina's love. Dina's care.
You were nothing but a friend. The realization made you sick.
You did everything for her.
You even killed for her.
But you'll never be Dina.
All you could was comfort her and hope, she'll one day feel the same.
