They had something to eat. They had a drink. They were at the inn...had a room for the night. They argued about philosophy...he was right. She hated that he was right, but he was. It was as if he'd seen all the details of her life and read all the lessons she'd learned through her 30-some years: no one ever stayed for long. They did what was socially expected; not what they really wanted... or needed.
They had another drink... something called "to-kill-ya" or something like that. It was sweet...like his smile. It was tart, like his sense of humour.
No one ever stayed. She knew it, but did it matter? One sweet night is all she wanted, then whatever the next day brought, it brought...no obligations, no regrets. She laughed a lot. How long had it been since she laughed? Really laughed? She laughed so hard that she couldn't breathe.
When they finally staggered up to their room...why had they only gotten one room anyway...she wished she hadn't drunk so much; she'd be asleep in minutes and awake in just a couple hours.... regretting.... wondering what it was like to have a normal life, whatever that meant, and then moving on. Maybe he'd move on with her. She'd like that. Maybe she'd never see him again and he'd be stacked among the possibilities she never tried hard enough to explore. Possibilities... eventualities... who could say? But she did laugh.
The creativity, the effort, the absurdity... XD
There’s really nothing more to say...
Baby boomers pass on the Earth to future generations, 2018
...and a lack of thoughtfulness
Yeah, I'm looking at you, anti-vaxxers, bigots, and everyone else who uses fairytales as a basis for "righteously" spreading hate.
The Earth is not over populated. Its over greeded. We suffer from lack of values for a human being.
1. I believe in god and don’t understand statistics. 2. I have no idea of chemistry and biology and therefore believe that any association with a harmful element is automatically harmful. Even if the amount is insignificant. 3. I do not understand the difference between correlation and causality. 4. I ignore the most obvious studies and prefer to believe quacks that have been refuted a thousand times, that either have never treated or rightly no longer treat patients. 5. I cannot distinguish serious and scientific sources from lies and false promises and therefore believe that [insert arbitrary facebook/twitter/random page] is a credible source. 6. I know that there are problems with the pharmaceutical industry, therefore I consistently ignore everything that has to do with science and real medicine. 7. I do not understand the concept of herd immunity. 8. I do not watch news and therefore do not know what is going on in countries and regions lacking adequate vaccination protection. 9. I am not able to think logically and I don’t even realize that a conspiracy of this magnitude (with millions of people involved) could never be kept secret. 10. I want my child to die.
Currently paying for 2 kids in college and, yeah... getting those "gift" requests. Yet I can only be a little annoyed, considering how badly they've been defunded. I'm tired.
I feel that the mind-boggling enormity of this feat is underappreciated because the diameter of the black hole and its distance from us are such large, incomprehensible numbers. If my math is right, it's like standing on Earth and trying to photograph a single human hair on the moon... keeping in mind that both Earth and Moon are spinning and moving around while you try to do it. For me, that is the truly-amazing part: the technological achievement... not to mention the geopolitical achievement in getting all those countries to work together.
Also, take THAT flat-earthers!
I feel like we need this reminder now and then. "... let us find ourselves a worthy goal"
This Image was taken from the International Space Station nearly 12 years ago on July 21, 2003. Think of it, the Earth’s Space Station - Humanity’s Space Station - is now more than 16 years old. Before that humanity had separate stations, but now we explore the grandest of mysteries united. This great effort of space exploration demands peaceful compromise and cooperation. There are now millions of children who know space in this way. So, when you feel that life is heavy. If the news tells you that we have failed. If you are beginning to loose hope. Just look up. Know that this is the future of our Species: On a Station orbiting Earth once every 90 minutes, the peaceful ascent of humanity into the Solar System has begun. This is the beginning of our great journey.

Fam PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF THE DEAD GODS
please please please no reblogs of exotic looking animals (ocelots, savannah cats, wolfdogs ecetera) when it is obvious these half- to fully wild animals are living as pets in someones house.
I can't talk about this enough, there are so many idiots who think they can manage wild animals only to get frustrated with them at some point because they just ARE NO PETS, and in the end it's people who work for animal welfare (like me), animal shelters and zoos who have to take over these poor creatures when it becomes clear that the owner fucked up or straight up died or got injured.
I know they look pretty and adorable and just super cool. But please don't.
