My name is Mena and I live in Gaza.

Mena is a college student living in Gaza studying to become a nurse.

Imagine your life as Mena's. Faced with horrors we cannot even begin to realize; so close to the dream that she has held tightly in her heart since childhood, with a simple desire to help the people around her in any which way she can, and right when she is so close to realizing her dream, to turning it into her life and her reality, her dream is shattered - slipping through her fingers as she desperately tries to hold onto it: her dreams, her inspiration, her motivations, even her friends and teachers, some of whom were killed during the war.

All she has left is her dream, striving to fulfill it.

Even during the war, with the education she had received before the war flipped her life upside-down, she put that knowledge to work, standing alongside nurses and doctors in the field and tending to horrible wounds with limited access to medical tools and resources - helping anyone she could, while hungry, thirsty, with nowhere but a flimsy tent to lay her head down at night, exposed to the harsh elements.

Mena's whole life has been dedicated to helping the people around her. It is now our turn to show Mena the unconditional love and support that she has shown to anybody lucky enough to cross her path. ❤️

The university contacted her a couple days ago, letting her know that she will have to pay the fees she's incurred for the online courses she's dedicated herself to during the war; studying as her childhood home was shelled and destroyed along with all of her and her family's things and lifetime of saved funds, memorizing her work as bombs dropped on her university, crumpling it to stone and dust.

if house md were running in 2024 there would be an episode with a patient who identifies as an ‘online content creator’ (cagily) where house agrees to take the case primarily because when he offhandedly refers to her as an onlyfans model both cameron and cuddy get really offended and say it’s a sexist assumption so he doubles down and becomes committed to finding the patient’s onlyfans and proving it. at some point it would be revealed that chase actually is an onlyfans model and started doing it as a stopgap after his dad died and he suddenly got disinherited but he makes so much money off it that now medicine is basically just a hobby. cameron and foreman both disagree with the concept online sex work but it turns out they disagree for different reasons (cameron thinks it’s exploitative and not-feminist, foreman finds it distasteful and thinks people should get ‘real jobs’) and spend most of their scenes together arguing about this while chase gets continually more shifty. they break into the patient’s house and there’s a full ringlight and camera setup which seems to confirm house’s suspicions. while trying to find the patient’s onlyfans house accidentally finds chase’s onlyfans instead and considers publicly embarrassing him about it like he did with wilson’s sex tape but soon realises that most of the staff at the hospital are already subscribed to chase’s onlyfans so makes fun of him for that instead. it then transpires that the reason why the patient is so cagey about being a content creator is that she’s an ASMR artist and all the soap she’s been shaving on camera has irritated her lungs. cuddy is about to make house give her 20 extra hours of clinic duty as recompense but at last minute it’s revealed that the website the patient uses for some of her bonus commissions is, drumroll…onlyfans, because she’s been banned from patreon. how does house know this? wilson is subscribed to her because the soap videos sometimes soothe him to sleep. something by cigarettes after sex plays. roll end credits.

Hungry in the Dark

In a city where the light has fallen and the sound of war has grown louder, Abdul Karim, a child, walks barefoot among the rubble of houses, searching for something... anything.

His mother tried to hide her tears, cooking him whatever she could find: sometimes breadcrumbs, sometimes water and sugar... if she could find it.

In the dark? Of course.

But his heart is still warm, and his tongue recites the prayer every night:

"Oh Lord, don't deprive me of your tenderness, even if you deprive me of your eyes."

... living in the shadows of war, hungry in body and soul. But hope has not died... because in every living heart, there is an opportunity to create a new light.

bzzt bzzt new soukoku au dropped, this time featuring YOKAI

dazai is a kitsune who lives in the forest and watches over the shrines of his predecessor (that he lowkey inherited), chuuya is an oni who accidentally d worded a guy on one of those shrines and then got stuck with a fox forever

chuuya's design is mostly his oni design from mayoi's pandemonium night, i just added the corruption tattoos

oni are servants of hell and, before they were oni, were the most vile and sinful of humans on earth. as oni, their jobs are to punish humans that are JUST short of being awful enough to become oni as well, and they can eat souls so that's fun

chuuya, for a long time, works with other oni (it's the sheep) to eat, seal away and punish souls. he meets dazai one day, an annoying and secretive kitsune in the forest, accidentally gets a mess on his shrine and dazai decides to annoy him for the rest of time

then one day, out of nowhere, dazai sets all the souls of the sinners loose in the name of an ambiguous "greater good", and offs the sheep to make sure they don't seal up the sinners again. he tries to do the same with chuuya, but chuuya is fueled by his anger and.......... retaliates

chuuya's anger summons fire, he leaves dazai engulfed in them, and that's how dazai gets his bandages in this.

chuuya also swears that he'll hate dazai forever for what he's done, which, like, he does, but it's that typical soukoku hate where hate = i want to punch and kick you stupid and then make out with you

and a hundred or so years later dazai is back to annoying chuuya like normal anyway because this is skk, but now they just have more baggage
