I wrote the thing. I wrote a slice-of-life Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusader’s fanfic involving stupid parlor tricks. All in three hours.

You’re welcome, but also, why do I feel like this is a mistake? It’s safe for work and relatively innocuous, but still.

Also, the title is a slight modification of the first lyric in Cherry by Chromatics. Go listen to that—it’s a really good song, I promise.

During the time that I’ve been overwhelmed with coursework and work to pay the bills, I forgot that I made this birb. It has been rescued from the annals of my hard drives after I decided to organize my files.

I’m almost done with some actual stuff I’ve decided to do over the holidays. I promise I won’t spam anyone with more terribly made typographic birbs. (I don’t even have any more terribly made typographic birbs.)

Here's An After-work Selfie That Absolutely No One Asked For! Also, Yes, I Do Have A Day Job. Sometimes

Here's an after-work selfie that absolutely no one asked for! Also, yes, I do have a day job. Sometimes it's why I come home and then don't do any art or design. Not always, but sometimes.

This was the result of my Twitch stream today! I can’t say that I got as much done as I would have liked, but that’s because my roommate’s corgi, Truffles, started vomiting on both of the couches. She had to be taken care of, and things had to be cleaned. That’s kind of an emergency.

Incidentally, I’m thinking that I want to try the Lazy Nezumi plugin at some point in the near future. I like technical drawing by hand and all, and getting by on on Brush>>Shift>>Click and drawing out a perspective layer isn’t the worst thing I could possibly do...but it seems like Lazy Nezumi’s Illustrator-esque grids might be helpful, and the fisheye thing seems SUPER neato. (Until the inevitable happens and Adobe just adds that as a thing anyway...like how a file recovery plug-in I once had basically became standard anyway.)

Here, Have An Animation For Star Trek’s 50th Anniversary!

Here, have an animation for Star Trek’s 50th anniversary!

Even if it was technically an assignment for my advanced illustration course, I had fun with my sorry excuse for fan art (Yes, I grew up with Star Trek in the 90s. My parents and I would watch both TNG and Voyager together, and TOS on occasion.)

I also had fun revisiting nebulas and space as subject matter for digital painting, and this was a lovely excuse to do that, too. Also, this was actually the first time I’ve ever used overlays in something, to be brutally honest. You’d think I would have touched them at some point if I’ve known Photoshop for years...but nope. Not once.

I may have to make a Zelda 30th anniversary illustration and a Pokemon 20th anniversary illustration to accompany this as well, as I grew up with those, too...(and without parental influence.)

I Ended Up Finding A REALLY Old High School Doodle Of A Character I Made  When I Was About 15-16ish.

I ended up finding a REALLY old high school doodle of a character I made  when I was about 15-16ish. I haven’t drawn much of him in a while.

It was my 26th birthday last week, and I decided to try to do a speedpaint of the same thing about a month ago in order to get a general idea of the progress I’ve made in the past decade. Overall, it’s definitely and improvement, to say the least, assuming I’m only given an hour or so to pop something out.

I’m quite pleased to see an obvious visual improvement at this point.

(Also, I’m totally not enamored with this character, I swear...even if he is a main protagonist in a story I wanted to write. I’ll try my best get to him later.)

I can’t begin to express how happy I am to make a composition where I can line up a sword with the italics of a font just right, pretty much immediately in the concept sketch stage, but I am.

I’m also pleased with sketching out a late-30s/early-40s-ish high elf with a demonic looking sword and a lot of swagger...(and the two unfortunate saps he’s dragging along for his mission.) I’m coming to like this guy’s character design.

Also, I can’t draw furries to save my life. Help me.

I have learned that watching Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure all over again when you already know the exact flow of the story yields some interesting tidbits—particularly, bits of dialogue and animation are really beautiful examples of foreshadowing, and I’m just like “Ah! That’s so cool!”

Unfortunately, me and my spoiler hound attitude has screwed up one of my roommates. The other one is new to Jojo, and I have to reign in the first roommate so that the second one isn’t spoiled when he doesn’t want to be, and it’s weird to be vaguely told “well, I got used to you being ok with spoilers!”, and it’s like...

...ay, even spoiler hounds gotta have manners around others who aren’t.

I’ve Been Doing Super Duper Rough Speedpaints Of Jotaro And Joseph In Between Points Where I’ve Been

I’ve been doing super duper rough speedpaints of Jotaro and Joseph in between points where I’ve been frustrated with the approximately 50 icons I have to design for an actual company.

Of course, these two aren’t finished by my actual standards, but I’ve been pushing myself to try to do smaller things on the side so that I don’t get overwhelmed with the sheer number of things I have to design. Also, I’ve been legitimately happy that Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure stood my “two month” test before I get bored with a series and dump it...so it’s in league with Panic! at the Disco and The Legend of Zelda in terms of fandoms for me at this point. (Although Joseph is inexplicably my favorite Jojo, and I’m disappointed that my intro was Jotaro back in the day with the fucking garbage OVAs, because NO WONDER MY INITIAL IMPRESSION WAS BAD AND I INITIALLY DIDN’T LIKE IT, JEEBUS.)

I’m glad I’ve gotten 80% of what I needed to finish while spitting these two things out too. And a few other non-essential things.

I kinda want to legitimately finish these. And make a few other Jojo things, too. I want a damn Kakyoin sketch for myself.
