Do I not feel especially attached to either of my nationalities because I'm an immigrant or because I'm a literal space alien? Probably both tbh
So I don't normally celebrate or talk about holidays but I'll make an exception for this one to talk about it with alien alterhumans.
Apparently today is Extraterrestrial Culture Day. Originally, it's a day celebrated to "honour all past, present, and future extraterrestrial visitors...in ways to enhance relationships among all the cosmic visitors, known or unknown." It's celebrated on the second Tuesday on February.
It's originally a New Mexico state holiday, but there really is nothing to say it can't be celebrated everywhere. Some activities you can do today, (not limited to) include:
-Learning more things about astronomy and astrophysics and reading up on speculative biology
-Consume alien related media via books, movies, games, etc
-Decorate! Create artwork, write poems, short stories, etc
-Self reflection or meditation
-Celebrate with friends
Really, there's no wrong way to celebrate it since every experience is pretty different. You don't even need to do anything.
I was actually asleep for most of the day for example, even after I did some accidental research and found a map I drew was accurate.
Above image is a pride flag with every color band represented by a NASA image. White is Earth clouds, pink is aurora, blue is the Sun in a specific wavelength, brown is Jupiter clouds, black is the Hubble deep field, red is the top of sprites, orange is a Mars crater, yellow is the surface of Io, green is a lake with algae, blue is Neptune, and purple is the Crab Nebula in a specific wavelength.
BTW i made the spooky "I'm in the closet" banner in my pinned post and it is free-to-use

Some creatures might bite me for saying this, but I think that us having human bodies is cool, actually, because it allows a lot of different species to have common ground and interact peacefully when they would otherwise have to fight for survival, eat each other, drive each other to madness, etc.
So the "every species is sentient" dilemma isn't as bad in this case as it would be if, say, humans existed along with sentient bio-tapeworms or sentient bio-wolves existed along with sentient bio-deer. And by this I mean human-like sentience, since I believe that most species are already sentient to some degree
Otherkinity and therianthropy make a lot of otherwise hypothetical moral dilemmas a lot more real, such as "what if every single species on earth was sentient and sapient" and "what if fictional characters could see what kind of art people share of them on the internet"
I'm your only friend i'm not your only friend but i'm a little glowing friend but really i'm not actually your friend but i am (the painting in my cover photo is "Visitors From the Past" by Andrew Stewart)
