I love how The Pitt's use of the small time scale shows how quickly trauma (or just collaboration in any high pressure environment) can create bonds. Specifically I'm talking about Whittaker and Santos. I'm rewatching from the beginning after watching the finale, and in s1e1 when Whittaker complains about money problems, Santos just smirks and is like "sell a kidney." By the end of the season, she offers for him to move in with her.
This is like a season's worth of relationship development and character development for Santos especially. But like. Over the time span of one day. Less than 24 hours. That is just insane to think about. And yet. It makes sense. Because they endured insane trauma together and even before that, they were comrades in arms facing a constant onslaught of patients and expectations. It is just such good writing and something I've never seen before. I'm sure this has been said a million times but like. A full season of character development. One day. Both make sense. Wow.
what if you were a MED STUDENT and it was you FIRST SHIFT in emergency medicine and then you spilled MYLANTA on yourself and you had to CHANGE YOUR SCRUBS and then a patient BLED all over you and you had to CHANGE YOUR SCRUBS and RIGHT AFTER THAT a boy BARFED BLOOD all over you and you had to CHANGE YOUR SCRUBS and then a some guy PEED on you and you had to CHANGE YOUR SCRUBS and you looked like a BABY OWL
Word of god says santos was a gymnast which is interesting in terms of her backstory but I get soccer vibes from her tbh
just looked it up and yeah, former gymnast. not what i was expecting but i can see it now. also the second soccer mention. she really does give soccer vibes, huh?
Specific sensory experiences I think Gihun would find triggering from his time in the games:
- Hearing the endless ticking of a clock. Imagine it wearing on him with each soft sound, filling him with panic as the seconds pass by, convincing his nervous system that something awful will happen when time is up.
- Losing his footing. Have you ever walked on glass or ice or another slick surface, especially on your socks? It’s easy to slip. He also lost his footing during tug of war and was hanging off the edge for a terrifying moment, so I think that moment of adrenaline when he slips would be hard to recover from.
no idea if netball is a thing in the us but santos rly strikes me as a netball player.. maybe soccer? but not as a consistent thing she's just really fast and enjoys running. However. boxer santos has my whole heart though im going to keep thinking of that wow ..
it might be played recreationally but, as far as i know, it's not played professionally here. this is also the first time i'm hearing of the sport.
i got the boxer idea because i doubt krav maga is the only martial art that she's into. i feel like she's dabbled in jiu-jitsu. nothing to back this up, it's just a feeling.
soccer is a solid option, i think. your remark about her enjoying running makes me imagine her doing morning runs on her days off.
Fem!Sangwoo sketches for you guys!!! Eat up!
Trinity Santos nosiest bitch on the block. Sussed out that Langdon was stealing drugs and that Whittaker was homeless in less than 15 hours. And she’s a lesbian? Too powerful
