Sooo...
I finished watching Death Note and damn! The first 4 Mangas I only have in two days... That was my first anime and its my first Manga. Its so sad that its over, I really liked the characters. L, Light, Matsuda, Mello, Matt, Near, Misa and all the others. Siriously, I don't like all characters, but everyone has such a thing, you know?
I really enjoyed this Anime, and I will enjoy the Manga, too. I'm really happy but I'm also sad because it's over.
My absolute favourite character is L. He's such a smartass, and this cake thing... I love him. I love Matsuda too, because I can relate with him a little. And Mello is good, so it's Matt.
Light, you know... I really like Light, but I hate Kira. I think Light is a very interesting person and nice, but Light Yagami dies when L dies, I think. Then it's just Kira, who lives in Lights body.
My hate characters are Rem and this one Guy who dies in the last episode, I don't know his name anymore lol. You know, the guy with the glasses and the Justice stuff. Near is okay, I don't hate him but I don't love him.
Death Note is a really good Anime, and I'm sure it's a really good Manga.
Ok so I have thoughts about that scene, as does every fan, and even though I wish we had actually gotten a canon confession, I am not AS mad as I was right after watching it for the first time (Yes, I’ve been watching it over and over, sue me 😆).
While the phrase “we’re brothers” certainly is awful, when I look at Robin’s acting and listen to the way he says it, it dawns on me that I know that pose: He’s used it every time he lies or competes with someone (Fish and Jim come to mind), it sounds a little sarcastic even. So he’s using the phrase to try and ease Edward into a false sense of security with those words, which Edward doesn’t really buy.
I do believe they had every intention of stabbing each other at first still -with some bitterness left- and, then, the hug happened without them planning anything to change. Dunno, I mean, they look so sure when they come into contact, but, as they hold onto each other, it dawns on them: They can’t, they physically can’t. By the time they smile they’ve realized they won’t hurt the other and would much rather be together. I think their objectives changed drastically in those seconds, going from truly wanting to stab the other in some belated revenge (or maybe trying to get rid of a weakness?) to wanting to hold tighter onto the other, like they used to. So yeah, the hug was like a key of sorts? They hadn’t embraced since season 3 when they were at their peak, then came the whole fallout (yeah, that “Together” from Ed also a giveaway that he wasn’t entirely honest either, thanks 3x19) and uneasy truce to working together in season 5 and, when they finally hug again after everything, to me it’s like a switch: It’s exactly what they needed to find what they really wanted from each other. It’s familiar, it’s safe, it’s right.
Also Oswald is honestly tearing up and looks so darn similar to “Anything for you” (yes, background music helped with that) and Ed’s smile and squished cheek when he tightens his hold are so precious I just can’t.
Finally, when Oswald says “Life starts anew” I took it as a refference to their relationship: Everything is past, now they will start it all over. As for Ed’s words, well, we all know where those came from (he’s been freed again, maybe?), he also smiles rather openly when he says them.
And I rambled but those are my thoughts, headcanon even, what do you guys think?
EDIT: Saw what Tze posted, I’ll take it 💖
Fact: We are all suicidal humans who are telling each other suicide isn't the answer
In my school we had one year cooking, but due to covid we didn't have it very much. It was a nice subject but the food was terrible and I never learned how to crack an egg 😃
so it was actually useless lol
i am not joking we need to force teach cooking in schools. like. it is an essential thing for survival. do you know how easy it is to make things if you know even the bare bones shit about how cooking works. we need to teach teenagers how far you can take an onion and some other veggies it’’s sad that people grow up not knowing how to prepare literally anything. and i’m not talking about oh this home ed class taught me how to make chicken nuggets at home i’m talking about learning the balancing of sweetness and acidity and saltiness and bitterness and shit like that and techniques and oil temperatures and how meats cook. it needs to be taught because it’s literally not even that difficult and it matters so much
