Oh my goodness. When I saw this, I immediately thought of the fishing scene in the last chapter of It Lives Beneath. I searched for a YouTube playthrough video and took a screenshot of this:
(Taken from Abhirio's video.)
Maybe we really will get a Book 3 of the It Lives Anthology. And maybe the setting will be somewhere snowy!

Author's Note: Hi, all! So, I'm new to the GiyuShino fandom, and the idea for this fic just popped into my mind! So, I decided to write it down! I hope you all like it!

Thankfully, it was just an error!
Just a headâs up: Kamilahâs new look is not permanent. Her character look was swapped out by accident with an internal art asset that was being tested, and a fix for that has been already lined up for the next update. Sorry about any confusion!Â
As always, if you have game feedback or need game support, please message us in-game or via Facebook! We canât really troubleshoot game issues or respond individually to your queries on Tumblr. Thanks for understanding!Â
Weâve also got some cool news for you coming very soon (perhaps tomorrow if thereâs time??). That being said, we wanted to clear the air regarding Kamilah first, so thanks for reading! Check back tomorrow for more Choices chapters and maybe even some big news⊠đ±
Hello, everyone. I've been reviewing my posts, and I've noticed that some of them contain grammatical errors and typos. On this, I want to apologize. I promise to be more thorough with my proofreading and editing processes in the future. Sorry again. :(
It looks like there's going to be an epic fight.
(And also possibly some revelations).
I am reblogging my own story. Hehe. âïž
Note:Â Â Hello, everyone. I got the idea for this Kamilah x MC story some time after the latest BloodBound chapter was released. This takes place immediately after the events of the said chapter. Also regarding the Order of the Dawn,I assumed, for the purpose of this story, that they possess high-tech weapons specifically designed to take down vampires. The assumption is based on the information Adrian shared.
Anyway, this story is rather lengthy. Lol. I hope that you guys will like it! :)
P.S: Also, please forgive the title. I couldnât think of anything else. Haha.
Amyâs POV
The Knights of the Order of the Dawn march through the entrance of Serafineâs nightclub. As they fill the room, streams of flaming arrows fly across the room, immediately setting dozens of vampires on fire.
Screams fill the air as chaos erupts among the crowd. Vampires desperately push against one another in an attempt to escape.
âAmy, get down!â Serafine yells over the screeching as she pulls down to the floor to avoid getting hit by the arrows.
âSerafine, we gotta get to Adrian and Jax!â You tell her.
But your words donât seem to have reached her. Serafine looks wide-eyed at the ground before her.
âSerafine! Wake up!â
Your loud voice seems to have broken her from her stupor. âOui! Stay close to me!â
Serafine grabs your hand as she expertly weaves her way through the panicking crowd. You barely manage to keep up with her, but eventually, you find yourselves back in the VIP room where you find Jax and Adrian talking to a group of frightened vampires.
âGuys, the Order of the Dawn is here!â You exclaim as an explanation.
With his eyes glowing red, Jax unsheathes his sword. âYeah. We heard.â
Adrian steps forward, his face grim. âWe need to get out of here.â
Serafine addresses him with a disheartened look on her face. âBut there are too many of them."Â
You see Adrianâs face harden. "We have to do what we can! Weâve come this far, and thereâs too much at stake for us to give up now!â
âAdrianâs right.â Jax steps up beside him. âWe canât stop. Not right now.â
âBut the OrderâŠâ Serafine mumbles. â⊠How did they even find my nightclub?â
You look at Serafine whose face is fraught with despair. Her eyes are unseeing - itâs as if sheâs re-living a traumatic event.
Adrian notices her dazed state and grabs her hand to squeeze it firmly. âSerafine. Listen to me.â
She turns to him with worried eyes. âYou need to calm down.â He tells her. âWe can get through this. Itâs not over until itâs over.â
The French vampire looks at him for a moment before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. When she opens them, you see red irises.
âYouâre right. We must fight back.â
You grin at her. âThatâs the spirit.â
Adrian cracks his knuckles as his own eyes slowly turn red. âNow then, shall we greet the Order?â
âOui. We shall.â
âLetâs do this!â Jax growls.
â-
Despite being greatly outnumbered; you and the others were able to put up a fight. Some of the other vampires joined you in the battle - you were all able to hold your own for a while.
But the fact remains that the Order is stronger and larger in number. As the battle progressed, you all started to sustain wounds from their technologically advanced weapons. And eventually, you, Adrian, Jax, Serafine and a few other survivors are crumpled on the ground and are surrounded by the Knights.
Your struggle to keep your eyes open while you cover your bloodied temple with your left hand. You try to hold your head steady with your right one.
âWe couldnât beat them.â You say with a defeated sigh.
âDamn. Those weapons of theirs are really something else.â Jax grunts as he clutches his badly burned shoulder.
âTheyâve certainly⊠upgraded⊠their arsenal.â Serafine wheezes as she wraps her arms around her stomach.
âWe came all this way⊠Damn it!â Jax yells in frustration.
âAt the very least, we will not die as cowards.â You hear Serafine seethe as she glares at faceless masks of the Knights.
âThereâs not⊠much that we⊠can do.â Adrian grumbles â the pain from the blast to his back making it difficult for him to speak. âIt was an honor to⊠have fought⊠alongside you all.â
The Knight in front of you raises his arm. âMen, ready your aims!â
Simultaneously, all of the Knights aim their weapons at you, ready to strike.
You look at the Knights, then to your friends, and then to the still-lit ceiling. âLily⊠KamilahâŠâ you say softly, âI hope you guys can finish what we started.â You then close your eyes, waiting for it to be all overâŠ
BOOM!
Something suddenly explodes, and you hear the Knights scream. Your nostrils are immediately invaded with the smell of smoke.
When you open your eyes, you see that the room is now filled with smoke and that the Knights have been scattered across the floor. Through the entrance, a group of red-eyed vampires arrives with weapons of their own. They immediately take advantage of the confusion and engage the members of the Order in combat.
And in a flash, a familiar face is kneeling in front of you.
âYou called?â Kamilah smirks at you.
You could hardly believe your eyes. âKamilah?!â
Even though sheâs smirking, you can see hints of relief and worry in her eyes as she looks at you. She instantly tears off one of her long sleeves and quickly wraps it around your head to stop the bleeding.
From beside you, the others react to her sudden appearance. âWait⊠What?!â You hear Jax mumble in shock.
Despite her injured condition, Serafine smiles brightly at her. âDarling! So good to see you again!â
âKamilah! But how?!â Adrian sputters before wincing in pain.
Kamilah looks over her shoulder to call out to another vampire. âSamuel! I need help with the injured!â
âYes, Miss Sayeed!â In a matter of seconds, more vampires approach your wounded group.
In the blink of an eye, sheâs carrying you in her arms. âIâll explain later.â She addresses all of you. âRight now, we have to get you all to safety.â
âHey. No arguments from me.â You chuckle as you rest your head against her shoulder.
You see her smile at you quickly before addressing the others. âLetâs move!â
In a matter of minutes, youâre inside a large van.
âAmy!â Lily calls to you from the driverâs seat.
âHey, Lil.â You smile at her weakly.
âWhoa. You guys look messed up!â
âTell me something I donât know.â Jax grumbles.
As soon as all the injured have been loaded in the van, Kamilah slams the door shut. âNowâs not the time for pleasantries. We have to go now!â
Lily immediately takes the wheel and starts the engine. âGot it!â
Soon, youâre zooming down the roads of Paris far away from the Order.
â-
Four hours later
About four hours later, youâve stopped at the front of the side of a mountain somewhere in the woods located miles away from the main city.
âWhere are we?â You ask.
Kamilah responds as she places some items in a satchel. âWeâre at an old safehouse used by European vampires back in the early 19th century as a hiding place.â
âSafehouse?â You ask, looking at the wide expanse of hard rock through the windshield.
âItâs built inside the mountain, Amy. The entrance is hidden. How cool is that?!â Lily explains.
âOh. I see. But wonât the Order find us here?â
âWeâll only stay here for the night. Weâll move to a more secured area come dawn. Besides, this is one of the very few hideouts that the Order has yet to find.â Kamilah says as she slings the bag over her shoulder.
Serafine leans forward. âOui. This was one of the safest places to go when on the run.â
âThis is about as good a hiding place as any.â Jax says from his seat.
Kamilah addresses her other companions. âGet Adrian, Serafine, and Jax inside and give them blood packets. They need to heal immediately.â She then turns to you. âIâll take care of Amy myself.â She effortlessly scoops you into her arms and carries you outside.
A short while later, Kamilah has removed the rudimentary bandage around your head and cleaned the wound before placing some anti-bacteria solution covering it with a long strip of proper medicinal gauze.
âThanks.â You say.
âNot a problem. Now letâs go meet with the others.â She offers you her hand, and you take it â letting her pull you up.
â-
You meet at the center of the safehouse and settle around an old and grimy ornate table that has seen better days.
âSo, KamilahâŠâ Adrian begins, now completely healed, âWhy are you here? How did you find us?â
Kamilah folds her hands on the table. âWhen you left to meet Serafine, I called some of my old contacts in Europe. I know as well as anyone that the Order of the Dawn is still active and is more dangerous now than ever. I asked them to watch your movements and also to collect information about the activities of the Order so that I would know if you ever get caught in one of their raids.â
Jax couldnât contain his shock. âSo, youâve been spying on us this whole time!?â
"I wouldnât exactly call it "spying.â Kamilah began. âBut I suppose I was.â
âWell, itâs a good thing that you were!â Serafine places her hand on Kamilahâs forearm. âYou saved our lives, darling! Thank you!â
The Egyptian vampire smiles at her French friend. âOf course.â
âWhen did you guys arrive in Paris?â You ask.
Lily turns to you. âWe got here this afternoon! Talk about getting here in the nick of time, right?â She grins.
You feel your eyes widen. âThis afternoon?!â
Kamilah clears her throat, prompting everyone to look at her. âYes, we arrived this afternoon. One of my contacts told me that the Order was planning to raid an underground nightclub owned by a vampire. And when they told me that it belonged to Serafine, I knew that there was a chance that you would all be in grave danger. So, Lily and I left for Paris immediately. We also brought along some of our strongest Clan members since weâre going to need a larger group to be able to mobilize and strategize considering the extent of the Orderâs influence.â
âBut what about the rest of our Clan members?â Adrian asks, worry etched on his face.
âDonât worry. I had already evacuated our Clan members from New York City and called in a favor from our werewolf friend Cal. Theyâre now in New Orleans. Calâs Alpha leader agreed to grant them temporary sanctuary.â
Both Adrian and Jax breathe out sighs of relief. âGood. At least theyâre out of immediate danger.â Adrian comments.
Jax nods in agreement. âYeah. Their situation is about as good as it can get.â
You all let a brief moment pass to allow some of the tension to fade. Kamilah eventually speaks again.
âSo, tell me. What exactly have you accomplished so far regarding our search for the Tomb of the First?â
â-
Two hours later
You and the others quickly caught Lily and Kamilah up to speed. You told them that you already obtained the Book of Blood, which thankfully, was in Adrianâs satchel the entire time. Serafine then explained that the next step was to find the Eye of Bathory amulet, which was last known to have been possessed by vampires from Prague. Everyone agreed that Lily would help Serafine gather data about the amuletâs current whereabouts and that Serafine would look through your vampiric memories for more information once you regain your strength.
Youâre now in one of the old bunkers of the safe house. The roomâs only source of light is a single lit candle placed on the bedside table. You toss and turn in the centuries-old cotton bed, unable to fall asleep because of your racing thoughts.
Now that the adrenaline of fighting has subsided, your mind starts to wander to other things. You think about the visions that youâve seen. Now that youâre aware of your powers as a BloodKeeper, youâre able to recall better the memories that youâve already witnessed. You think of the First Vampire Rheya and how she was banished to the caves where she eventually gained her powers. You then think about Gaius as a human soldier and how different he was back then. Then your thoughts go to Kamilah.
You think about how she was forcibly Turned against her will by Gaius. You then think about how, despite that fact, the two of them looked at each other so lovingly centuries after.
You immediately feel a pit of unease form in your stomach. Youâve always wondered what kind of relationship Kamilah shared with Gaius. Youâve always wanted to ask her but thought better of it considering the situation youâre all in. She mentioned that she was his Queen and that she did love him before. She also said the Gaiusâs return has made her feel vulnerable, but that only made you even more curious about what they had before. Apart from that and a few other tidbits of information, you have no idea about the extent of their relationship. Youâve seen a few memories, but you know there are more.
Your train of thought then leads you to examine your own relationship with Kamilah. Sheâs shown you tenderness and affection, but just how much does she really care? She admits that youâre the first person that sheâs ever been with in a century and that fact in itself already means something. But just how much does it mean?
Your reverie is interrupted by the sound of the door creaking.
âI thought that youâd be asleep.â Kamilah says softly.
You raise your head to look at her. âHey.â
Kamilah steps inside and closes the door gently. âWhy arenât you asleep?â
You sit up. âIâve got a lot on my mind. What brings you here?â
She makes her way to your bed and sits beside you. âI wanted to check in on you.â
She raises her hand to gently touch your bandaged head. âHow are you feeling?â
âI feel better.â
âHmmm.â Kamilah drops her hand to her lap.
You both stay in silence for a few moments before Kamilah reaches for your hand. âIâm sorry for not arriving sooner.â
You look at her and see worry in her eyes. âYou have nothing to apologize for. You did what you were able to do. What matters is that we got out okay.â
She smiles gently before leaning closer. âIâve missed you, Amy.â
When she leans in to kiss you, you immediately jerk back.
Kamilah looks at you in quiet surprise. âWhatâs wrong?â
You stare at her confused face, wondering how you should express what youâve been thinking about earlier. ââŠIââŠIââ you start to grasp for the right words.
You eventually sigh in defeat before getting up from the bed.
âAmy? Whatâs wrong?â Concern starts to lace her voice as she watches you slowly pace around the small area of the bunker.
You finally stop in front of the wall and exhale. âI want to know.â
âKnow what?â Kamilah asks from behind you.
You swallow before answering. âAbout you and Gaius.â You let a few seconds pass before you turn around to face her. You see that her face is frozen in shock â her brown eyes are widened, and her mouth is slightly agape.
It takes her a moment to shake herself out of her stupor. âYou⊠what?!â For once, she seems to be at a loss for words. ââŠAmy, you already know that I was his Queen. But thatâs all in the past now.â She offers as an explanation.
You shake your head. âNo, Kamilah. I want to know the full extent of your relationship with him.â
Your response seems to have shocked her even further. âWhy? Why do you want to know?â
You press your lips into a hard line. âBecause I saw memories of you and GaiusâŠâ you begin, watching Kamilahâs reaction. âI know that you tried to kill him before he Turned you without your consent.â At this line, Kamilahâs eyes widened even further. âI also know that centuries afterward, the two of you seemed to be so happy together.â
You eventually pause as you try to collect your turbulent thoughts. âWhat Iâm trying to say is that Iâm c-confused.â You feel tears starting to prick the corners of your eyes. âI know that you went through a lot as a vampire. I saw some of your memories, but I still donât have all the answers. You went through so much together with him. And the fact that Iâm confused m-makes me feel a-afraid.â Your voice is now trembling.
âAfraid of what?â
âAfraid that you might still feel something for him!â At this point, the tears have started to flow freely. âDonât get me wrong, Kamilah. I know that you wonât turn on us. But I canât help but feel scared.
âI donât exactly know what we have between us, Kamilah. But⊠you mean a lot to me. I know that weâve only known each other for barely a year, but after everything that weâve been through, I feel connected to you. And⊠the idea of you still having feelings for him⊠it breaks my heart.â
You let your tears trail down your cheeks as you continue to sob softly. Kamilah could only stare at you in shock. Your confession seems to have shaken her.
She remains immobile for what seems like an eternity. But then she closes her eyes before taking a deep breath.
"Amy.â The quiet and firm way Kamilah says your name instantly silences you.
She quietly moves from the bed and steps towards you. When you look into her eyes, you see raw vulnerability. Kamilah tentatively lifts a hand. She hovers it over the side of your face, and when you show no signs of jerking away, she places it on your cheek. She begins to gently stroke your tear-stained skin with her thumb.
âI know that you have a lot of questions to ask.â Her voice is soft. âI know that you want clarifications. And you should get the answers. Iâm sorry that you feel this wayâŠ
âBut now is not the time for such a conversation. Too much is at stake, and there is too little time.â
You feel an ache in your chest. âBut Kamilah â-â you start to protest.
She silences you once again, this time by placing a finger from her free hand against your lips. âSsshhh.â She lets the finger linger for a moment.
âLet me finish.â You look at her with wide eyes before giving a small nod. Kamilah drops her finger. âThis conversation will not only be quite long. It will also be⊠unpleasant.
âAnd honestly, I⊠donât feel ready to tell you everything just yet. I want to. And I will eventually. But I canât. Just not right now.
"But I want you to know this: whatever Gaius and I had in the past doesnât matter anymore. The Kamilah Sayeed who was under his spell is no more. She has been dead for a long time now. She died the moment she saw how truly dark and cruel he is.â
She takes a second to let out a breath.
"Amy.â She says your name again, the vulnerability more evident. âYou are what matters to me right now. I care about you. So much. You mean a great deal to me.
"I donât know what the outcome of all of this will be, but regardless of what may happenâŠâ
She pauses as she leans in closer. âI want you to know that you make me want to be a better person. You make me feel things that I havenât felt in a long time. You remind me that thereâs still hope in the world. You make me want to try and strive harder. I am just thankful that you came into my life⊠And I want you to stay in my life.â
Her words make you feel a rush of emotions. As you hold her gaze and take in the vulnerability and sincerity that she allowed to slip through her walls, you know that sheâs telling you the truth.
Unable to help yourself, you press your lips against hers. Kamilah wraps her free arm around your waist as she continues to stroke the side of your face with her hand. And you tangle your fingers into her hair as your lips and tongues brush together.
You rest your forehead against hers when you pull away.
âKamilahâŠâ you stare into her eyes intently. âI believe youâŠâ You continue to stare into her deep brown eyes and take in the warmth and sincerity they emanate. "We still have⊠a lot of things to iron out between us. But I know for sure that being with you will be worth everything that we have to go through.â She smiles at your declaration.
You untangle your fingers from her hair strands and settle them on her shoulders. "I know that we have a long way to go until all of this over. But⊠whatever happens, letâs face it together. And whatever comes after, letâs figure out together too. Promise?â
Kamilah looks at you - the earnestness in her eyes is more apparent than ever. âI promise.â She whispers the words solemnly against your lips before kissing you again.
Hello. I decided to try my hand at a quick Kamilah x MC drabble. Hehe. This takes place during the jet scene.
The vampire looked up from her laptop screen to silently observe the blonde near the jet's bar.
She observed Amy talking to Lily who was rapidly shaking a metal container which Kamilah knew was probably filled with a sample of every liquid that was available at the bar. She noticed how the purple-haired vampire was grinning widely. Too widely.
"Lil, you know that you can talk to me."
As soon as Amy said the words, the grin faded and was replaced by a sombre look. Kamilah watched as Amy consoled Lily.
Even when faced with a grave threat, she always manages to have the strength to be there for others. The brunette pondered with a small smile.
Amy represents everything good that is still left in the world. In the 2,063 years of her life, Kamilah had constantly witnessed destruction, chaos, and loss. Having lived through so many lifetimes full of darkness and pain, she had lost hope for the world.
That was until she met Amy. The female mortal's optimism, courage, and morale had surprised Kamilah. At barely 21 years old, the woman was quickly thrown into the world of the supernatural and faced its dangers admirably.
But what impressed Kamilah even more was her wit and compassion. Amy is not afraid to speak her mind even if the opposing party is a vampire who could easily break her. At the same time, she would also offer help to anyone in need.
She has both a sharp tongue and a kind heart. A formidable combination. The vampire internally laughed.
Yet, what surprised Kamilah the most was how she had become drawn to Amy. After many, many, many years of not being with anyone, she never thought that she could feel such emotions again.
It now seems strange that I once threatened to kill her. Her amusement grew.
The vampire's amusing nostalgia suddenly vanished when the thought of Gauis appeared in her mind. The mere idea of him succeeding chilled her to the bone. And the mere thought of him harming Amy made her simmer.
She suddenly realized that she was clutching the side of her laptop's monitor too tightly when waves of static started to dance across the screen. When she pulled her hand away, she felt tiny bits of plastic stick to her palm.
She took a quiet calming breath, not wanting to alarm the others. When she looked back up, she saw Amy speaking with Adrian.
Her blood brother is one of the very few genuine and good-hearted people that she knows. And one of the last things that she wants to see is Gauis destroying one of the few lights left in the world.
She then shifted her gaze to Amy. Upon reflection, the older vampire came to notice that the blonde and Adrian share many similarities. But looking at her bright and sincere smile, Kamilah thought that not only is the mortal one of the other few lights left in the world; she is also the brightest light in her life.
Gauis and Jameson will pay for what they did to you, Amy. They may be powerful, but that won't stop me from protecting you. That's a promise.
Check out Pixelberry's book release line-up for July and August.
Can't wait for the books to be released! I'm especially excited for Book 3 of Desire and Decorum!
Reminders and tips for everyone including myself. Hehe.
(based on things that yours truly notices as a freelance editor. This list is in no way complete, and will probably be added to as I continue to find repeated mistakes)Â
Use beats in your dialogue to break it up. Even âsaidâ can make a very effective beat between lines.Â
(No beats: âItâs not lethal. Just highly dangerous with a good chance of being mutilated.â // Beats: âItâs not lethal,â he said. âJust highly dangerous with a good chance of being mutilated.â)
Note how the break allows a bit of a pause for ~dramatic effectÂ
thinking of dialogue, use punctuation and distinct speech patterns! âLife, uh, finds a way.â is an iconic line anyway, but Jeff Goldblumâs signature verbal tic gives it character.Â
Itâs okay if characters stutter. Donât let the condemnation of stuttering characters as âcringeyâ in fanfic put you off. (and on that note, fuck cringe culture. Seriously. It saps all the fun out of creativity and fun is important.)
Start! A! New! Line! Whenever! Someone! New! Speaks!!
DO NOT FEAR THE WORD âSAIDâÂ
Use the landscape and settings around your character, and always, always remember a sceneâs blocking. Where is everything in relation to your characters? Have you left someone holding a coffee cup for the last three scenes? Did you lose a character somewhere along the way?Â
using the contents of a scene is also great for fight sequences.Â
Similarly, large character casts are hard to keep track of so donât be afraid to break them up. Sending someone off somewhere else can create some nifty little subplots.Â
Keep a personal note of how time passes. Trust me, itâs incredibly helpful to you as a writer and also for future readers.Â
Character growth does not have to be positive. Sometimes characters fail or suffer or get their motivations twisted up, and they finish the book as a villain rather than a hero.Â
All that matters is that a character changes throughout the plot in a way that readers can see; the sort of change they go through is entirely up to you.Â
scrap the idea that someone has to deserve a redemption arc. They probably donât deserve it, which is the whole point. So donât be afraid to make your villains seem completely irredeemable.Â
and you donât need to redeem your antagonists in order to make them complex, sympathetic villains, anyway. Sometimes people get so stuck in their beliefs that they canât see another way and it goes too far. Not everyone comes back from that.Â
Also, motivations and goals can absolutely change. Thatâs okay. You just need to have something that drives your character so that your readers are rooting for them.Â
Protagonists donât need to be heroic. How you define the protagonists and antagonists in your story is based entirely on the morality in your story-world, NOT the moral ideas in the real world. What counts as a complex protagonist in a world torn apart by biological warfare will be very different than one living in our world.Â
simple prose is just fine and you donât need to fluff it up for pretty quotes.
Remember to vary your sentence structures and length. Start smaller and build it up, drawing your readerâs attention.Â
âAndâ and âButâ are very valid sentence starters that are great for communicating the tone of internal narrative. Youâre allowed to tweak grammar if thatâs helpful for telling the story, it just needs to be accessible. Test out what youâve written on other people.Â
Check that your tenses are consistent!!Â
Honestly, I think that Tony Rez bears a greater resemblance to both Tanner and Pierce than Bryce does. This kind of makes me think: Maybe Tony is a Sterling? Maybe like Pierce's illegitimate son or an unknown distant relative.
