Leverage OT3 Casual Touches

(Cont.)

This is mainly for @werewolfsmile and anyone else who wants to shout into the void with me about this ot3!

So far season 4 started off strong with lots of little ot3 moments I’ve been clocking on my latest rewatch. Today I watched “The Office Job” through “The Gold Job” and wanted to recap. Ngl it isn’t much…

Still good things but it was a lot of what we already see which is still beautiful. But mainly it was a lot of leaning, being in each others spaces, and a lot of the handshake. (For the purposes of this post I’m skipping “The Girls Night Out Job” and “The Boys Night Out Job” simply because those two are a whole other beast of ot3 moments that I would like to gif separately and also not a lot of touching (besides the handshake in the boys night) which is what we’re focusing on here.)

Two men, a taller black man named Hardison and a shorter white man with long hair named Eliot, standing in an office. They slap their hands together twice and then fist bump as the camera zooms in.

“The Office Job” is my favorite comfort episode of Leverage. Everything about is pure gold. Despite Hardison and Eliot arguing the whole time about a sandwich they still manage to pull together in the end and have one of the funniest moments in the episode which is of course topped off by the handshake. Once again mainly in each other’s spaces or leaning this episode.

“The Lonely Hearts Job” also such a great episode of basically the ot3 parent trapping Nate and Sophie and Eliot out here doing the absolute most showing he knows his team in the end of the episode.

As for casual touches a lot with Eliot and Parker (I feel like there’s always more with Eliot and Parker in trying to find more with Eliot and Hardison but mainly they just always lean in each others spaces and orbit each other, compared to Eliot and Parker which sometimes have a similar but different dynamic due to comparing how Parker in the beginning of the series was very adverse to touch. Not from Hardison and Eliot now though:)).

Five people stand around a table. From left to right there is Hardison, a tall black man in a vest and t shirt, Nate, a white man with brown hair, in a button up and blazer. Then Sophie, a tan woman with dark hair, in a black striped dress, Eliot, a white man with long hair in a checkered shirt, and Parker, a white woman with blonde hair and a black shirt.

This scene starts out with them with a gap but they gradually get closer (I know this can happen when scenes are reshot. As I always say though let me read the subtext how I want. They were further apart then they got closer soooo)

closer gif of Eliot in checkered shirt and Parker in black shirt standing closer together.
Parker, a blonde woman with a black shirt and Eliot a long haired man with a checkered shirt walking towards the camera smiling and talking.

My favorite thing is the shoulder bumping as they’re walking out. All I have to say.

Hardison, a taller black man in a yellow shirt, stands next to Eliot, a shorter white man with long hair in a blue shirt. They slap hands twice and then fist bump.

Here they’re betting whoever gets the highest bid gets a steak which is super cute later because Eliot loses and puts up a fight about making it but then totally has heart eyes and smiles when he “loses” that argument too. Why wouldn’t he make his boyfriend a steak. There’s also a later scene I totally forgot to gif when they’re getting the guy flirting with Sophie out of the way and he calls Hardison (who’s in character) an idiot and I know Eliot did not need to take him down as hard as he did all I have to say.

And once again we have the leaning in each others spaces, shoulder touching, and once again the handshake. None of the other bachelors were standing this close on stage just saying.

Then we have “The Gold Job” where Parker literally gets up to sit next to Eliot? Wonderful. But then there’s some shoving but for context the whole scene was kinda tense because Hardison was running his first con. But then right before the camera changes Eliot moves closer!!!

Nate, a man in a white shirt walks towards a rainy window. Parker, a woman, gets up and crosses the room in front of Hardison, a tall man in a grey shirt and vest talking.
Parker sits on the couch next to Eliot, a man in a blue button up shirt with long hair. Eliot shoves her over.
In a wide shot we see Sophie, a woman with dark hair in a black top, sitting on a patterned chair. Eliot and Parker still sit on the grey couch further apart now. Hardison stands at the front of the room and Nate sits at the back.

But then they end up further apart again which I’m assuming may be due to reshoots.

Just generally the comfort between all of them gets me in these scenes. They’ve come a lot way and even though the beginning of season four I feel like shows this a lot more I’m still glad I’m finding scenes with their casual touches as I’m finishing out season 4.

That’s all I have for tonight :D I’m finishing up season 4 tomorrow so I’m sure I’ll be adding to this later.

Hope you like my gifs :) haven’t gifed in so long but I’m happy I’m learning again. Quality still needs work though.

Bonus:

Here’s a bonus gif of Eliot looking like he’s blowing a kiss in the button cam footage in “The Office Job” because I thought it was funny. This is once again getting added to my “why didn’t I notice this before” list. I just wanna know for whom Eliot. :)

upside down gif of Eliot in blue office shirt with long hair blowing kiss to camera. Next to him is Gunter, an older man in a black shirt and glasses.

Okay, okay. You all are probably ANNOYED about my Leverage posts- and I was on the fence about posting this one because I'm only on season 3. However, I just have SO many thoughts and I need to process them. So- here it goes;

*takes a deep breath*

Leverage is home. Like, I don't- I don't know to explain it. In another post I said the show was intoxicating and that's still true. But it's also- it's also home. Maybe I'm the only one, but when I watch it- I feel like I belong. Which is ridiculous. I'm not talented at all- but Leverage is almost like a security blanket. It's- it's safe and warm... it's home.

The only thing I can think of why it's home is because of them. Because they make it feel like home. They make feel safe and like your being cared for. Like your not alone. Even if you don't think your good at something- Leverage has your back. It gives you a sense of security. Which is weird because their criminals. But- like they said; Sometimes the bad guys are the only good guys you get.

I mean- you have Nate Ford who is always two to three spaces in front of the bad guy. Who sits there and listens to victims and gives them hope. Who talks to his team and bounces ideas off of them- instead of talking down to them. He's the kinda guy that watches from the background and sees all sorts of angles. Gets into the minds of both the victim and assailant. And if the con goes wrong- he has a second one ready to cover. Whose weakness is an empty bottle in an occupied barstool.

You have Sophie. A terrible actress whose good at acting. She can play any part. Be unseen- while being seen. Whose brave, kind, and gentle- but can kick butt when needed. She's not a damsel in distress- but she'll play the part. And the thing about that part is; it's so convincing- even she believes it too. Despite that- she's honest and sincere, she'll tell you what she thinks. Her heart is gold. Her trust is thin. She's like a snake- hypnotizing. Her weakness is the love she gave to a man who thinks too much and feels too little.

You have Eliot. A man that- if you just look at him- you'll just shrug him off. He's like any other brute. Big and brawny. And that's why you shouldn't ever judge a book by it's cover. He's so much more than that. Yes. He's brawn. A real southern charmer. But he has a brain and a heart. He's that big brother and gives you hugs and you can't help but melt into the security of that feeling. That feeling of safety that you just know has an ocean of anger underneath. But your not scared, you can't be scared. Not of him. He's the kinda guy you run towards- because you know he'll keep you safe. And yeah- maybe he'll use his brawn to keep you safe, but he'll also use his brain and his heart. He'll get you out of the situation in one piece with a grumble and a growl. His weakness is his kindness and that's why doesn't let it show.

You have Alec. The brainiac. The hacker- who isn't all that much to look at (compared to Eliot,) at least not at first glance. Yet, there's something about him that screams safe. Just as much as Eliot. He's outgoing and kind. Smart and funny. And the way that he's got everyone's back- even when it doesn't seem like it. He's your go to- to find any kind of internet mistakes and he's a good shoulder to cry on. He's that brother who is dorky, awkward, and nerdy- but he's honest and sincere. His weakness is not being able to be there when it really matters.

And- and you have Parker. The thief. The master thief- that didn't belong anywhere. Nimble and lean as she flips and slinks through vents. She's the little sister the family didn't know they even wanted. Until finally they realized she was what they needed. She's bright and cheerful despite how she grew up. Her life wasn't easy foster care and street living is a rough life- but she still believes in good things; Santa clause, Nate, Sophie, and Eliot. Most importantly she believed in Hardison. She was on her own until she was found and working with a team. Then she belonged to them. Everything she had done- was so that they knew she loved them. Her weakness is having the ability to not get caught.

To end this; Leverage is an amazing shoe- because it reminds us that no matter our background. No matter how many times we've messed up and haven't belonged- we are all human. It tells us that we will find our home, our tribe, our safety. That no matter our weakness- we'll always have somebody who can take our weakness and become our strength.

I'm only on season 3. I'll more than likely have more thoughts come by season 4/ season 5. (If you agree or disagree- don't hesitate to message me!

I agree with everything that was said and have nothing to add😅. NETFLIX I NEED SEASON 2

If you have ever thought about watching Lockwood & Co. on Netflix, even in passing, please do so! Right now! This is your sign, it's the perfect time!

I apologize for being the asshole who cross-tags, I swear it's not normally me. But hear me out, I mean this with my chest: if you're someone who enjoys the YA genre whatsoever - especially when it comes to ~a group of young people~ banding together to ~fight off supernatural threats~ - then Lockwood & Co is perfect for you! (see I'm doing you a favor, just trust me😂)

It's about ✨the unique characters, the found family, the mysteries, the worldbuilding, the slowburn, the vintage/modern aesthetic, the soundtrack, the cluttered kitchen coziness, the cinematography, the attention to detail, the layers and nuanced storytelling!!!✨ It's literally the most captivating YA-led show I've ever seen, and I'm a big fan of Stranger Things and Shadow & Bone.

It's the character work in Lockwood & Co that makes it stand out from the rest. The main trio fills the hole in my heart. They're so unique and flawed and SHAPED, and the way they interact/work together is like crack for your soul. It's ridiculous how addicting their dynamic is.

This is Anthony Lockwood, aka tumblr babygirl who uses a facade of confident swagger to mask the well of pain he harbors underneath. He is charismatic, ambitious, reckless, and soft hearted.

And this is George Karim. He is the MOST precious bean who is a brilliant researcher, though struggles sometimes with feeling out-of-step. He is sarcastic, excitable, unashamed, and dedicated.

At the end of the day - all I can say is sorry for the brief invasion into your tag, but also THANK YOU for your consideration in reading this, and thanks in advance for checking out Lockwood & Co 😉💖✨ I cannot emphasize enough how much you won't regret it!

Man, Fear Street always makes me emotional. The killers being remembered as monsters by everyone when they all were innocent, good people being forced to kill people—many times, their loved ones—. And we know that they at least have some level of consciousness when they do it because of Ruby Lane; she killed herself, which means that at some point she managed to snap out at least for a moment and took herself out before she could hurt someone else. Nurse Lane, who spent her life investigating and trying to get to the truth about her daughter. Ziggy, who lost her sister and spent her entire adulthood thinking it'd all been for nothing and wishing she'd stayed dead (and then at the end when Ziggy visits Nurse Lane and they both finally get their peace? Sobbing).

And most of all, Sarah's story always gets me the most. Betrayed by someone she trusted and accused and killed by people who'd known her all her life for something she didn't do and because she was a lesbian and loved another woman in 1666, and was remembered as a monster too, as the witch who cursed the town when all she ever tried was getting people to the truth. Always hurts to see her story, but it makes it all the more satisfying when she finally gets her vengeance and finally has people who know the truth about her and respect her. That "Sarah Fier, the first Shadysider" at the end and Sam and Deena kissing in broad daylight just like Sarah wanted to do with Hannah always fucking gets me too.

Like fuck.

I love Ethan and Ilsa so much. He meets her once and she saves him and he’s like wow, she’s amazing. She can do no wrong. Shoots him and benji? Tries to assassinate someone? She had no choice. Literally electrocutes his friend? It’s fine, he turned out ok. She performs any action and he’s just like “you’re doing amazing sweetie!!” And he so badly wants to get her out of the spy life. That’s something he can never have and something he couldn’t give back to his wife and he wants so badly to help Ilsa achieve it.

Meanwhile she thinks he’s the best person in the world, she just goes behind him saving his ass and staring wistfully at him.

Except, in between these times, they always end up on opposite sides and have to shoot each other, chase each other down, and hit each other with cars. But somehow they still trust each other bc they never lie to each other about their goals or intentions, not anymore.

If she dies, I will riot :)

Currently obsessed with Lockwood and Co. and after finishing the show I am now reading the series. I cannot recommend it enough, it was just the show I didn’t know that I needed right now.

While I’m hyper-fixating, I have some thoughts about fan engagement and a Netflix renewal. I noticed that even though there seems to be an influx of new fans, I don’t see the engagement on YouTube with reactors as much as I usually do with new Netflix shows.

I was wondering if there was any way to promote this? (Especially since Netflix did such a terrible job of it)

Reactors engage with a large audience and might be able to draw more fans with the hope of a Netflix renewal (I can’t help but be optimistic even though my heart is constantly broken by them).

Just thinking out loud! I know that there are other ways to get the viewership up but I’m thinking thoughts and wanted to put them somewhere.

“until you can’t tell a prop knife from a real one” and “I want to be remembered in the same breath as the mona lisa” are the same levels of gut punch that truly elevate the knives out series btw
