So close.
So I took the garbage out... At 1:34 AM, and I noticed that the whole backyard was lit up. When I looked to see if any of the lights were on outside, I didn't see anything. So I looked up, and I saw the full Moon, and all the stars, in a perfectly clear sky. Not a single cloud in sight. And I had a moment of, "This is the single, most beautiful site I will ever see." This picture doesn't do it any justice, but I just wanted to document it in some way. Most people don't think of anything when they look at the sky. But me? Like a nerd, I wonder about all the possibilities that are out there. What kind of life is out there, living their own lives, unaffected by humans, and unaware of how big our shared universe really is. But then I get sad when I realize I'll never live to see any of it. And then I get even sadder when I realize that I care about something that will never affect my life in any real way and is actually pointless for me to waste my time thinking about it. But, oh well... We still have cats here on Earth, so life's not all that bad I guess... But I really need to go to sleep.
God bless you Elan, you are my hero.
Think Progress’ Igor Volsky gets it right. It’s time for conservatives to wake up.
