[ RESTART - THE SEQUEL ]

After quite a long time, I feel it’s time to dedicate some (messy) words to this amazing masterpiece, which has gained a very special place in my heart.

Sorry if this gets be messy, I always get really emotional and I tend to overthink when it comes to this serie.

After a terrible heartbreak that has left his heart torn and bleeding, Jungkook (character based off her previous work - if you haven’t read it yet, do yourself a favour and do it right now; you can’t even imagine what you’re missing out on) is a living mess.

His life is now marked by bad decisions, hopelessness, regret, one night stands and an alcohol addiction - not to mention him being a busy ceo and all he has to go through with his family.

Everything feels like suffocating him and he just can’t take it anymore; that’s until he stumbles across Y/N, a sex worker in a club.

The encounters of those two at her workplace, in which they both always have a full mask on, are always more frequent, and it takes really little for JungKook to develope feelings for her.

Those feelings are clouded, though; hidden in a haze he can’t get out of because of his past lover still haunting his thoughts.

Y/N’s life ain’t better, marked by a dark and hurtful past.

Jungkook’s character is so needy, so small and fragile, finding difficulties in coping with his own weaknesses and emotions.

I love how is character develops, fighting his addiction, letting himself be and growing more confident about his feelings and his worth.

Y/N is scared at first, so she tries to put distance between her and Jk; despite her trying, they are just meant to be.

They complete and help each other grow, going through a “toxic relationship” phase but coming out of it together and stronger than they’ve ever been.

Both of them care deeply for each other that they go through so much pain for one another: her having to cope with his addiction and insecurities, him being understanding (to a certain extent) of her job and giving her time to adjust to a romantic relationship.

With each other they discover what real love is, what being loved and appreciated feels like, how people should validate your emotions and needs.

Some chapters really gave me chills and made me tear up, Sibi’s writing is so powerful that you can’t help it but empathise with her characters.

Do not even get me started on the smut scenes cause, oof damn girl you so freaky, I’ve loved every word of it plus all the emotions and comfort they still gave me…. chef kiss

This fic is a journey through.... I don’t know what, I haven’t quite wrapped my head around it yet.... hope? Rescue? Finding oneself? Gaining trust in other people? Overcoming one’s weaknesses? Loving?

I haven’t find the answer yet, and I honestly think there is no answer that needs to be searched.

To me, it’s a coming of age fiction and you need to read it to see things from another perspective.

My dear Sibi, please never stop writing and gifting me with these incredible emotions you make me feel with your masterpieces, you have taught me so much about life you have no idea.

It was the sixth week he fell asleep with you and he cried in your arms again. It should have weirded you out, but you just felt pity for him. You knew the type of cry he did. You did it many nights as well, hugging your pillow and wishing for another person to hold you.

Tonight he was late. Twenty five minutes already. It made you worry. Maybe he finally had enough and found a way to end it. That thought worried you. He was a stranger, yes, but you started to care for him. At least like a business person cares for another business person (that’s what you told yourself late at night when he appeared in your thoughts and haunted you until you forced yourself asleep).

Knock. Knock. Knock.

“Come in!”

Bunny steps through the threshold with big steps. He locks the door like he always does and then turns to you. He is wearing a turtleneck tonight and high waisted bell bottoms. It looks peculiar to see him out of a suit, peculiar but hot. Starting off by apologising for my bad English ugh I’m really trying my best to put my heart into this but in my head all of this sounded way much better and I got to express like... one fifth of all that I wanted to.

Binged this masterpiece of a trilogy in the last two days, and I can’t believe on what I’ve been missing out so far.

This serie is so well written and it never gets boring; the chapters aren’t repetitive and each one of them has made me feel so many emotions.

The relationships between each character has helped me rethink my idea of friendship, love, pain.... the way they struggle with their own feelings is so intense and deep.

Taehyung? Oh God where do I even start? I just wanna slap some common sense into that hazy head of his and then engulf him in the warmest hug and stay like that as long as possible, whispering comforting and caring words into his ears.

Jk is so cute (although he’d never want me to call him that) and you can definitely say he’s head over heels for Y/N; in the smut scenes he gets so drunk in her he almost loses his mind.

Gotta admit that I got scared sometimes by the way he acted towards her (ex. locking her in the hotel room or yelling at her during their arguments) but I honestly think that this is what having difficulties in coping with your feeling might unwillingly lead you to.

I have loved seeing his character grow and get better so much during the last chapters.

Yn is surrounded by amazing people who love her and are so wise, ugh I wish I had friends as supportive as hers! Friends who tell you the truth because they genuinely care for you; friends who don’t tell you what you wanna be told.

To top this incredible rollercoaster of emotions, the smut scenes are top tier my god so good *chef kiss*

I want to comment on so many parts of this serie, but I don’t wanna be giving out spoilers to those who may have not read it yet.

Lastly, kudos to this incredible writer, you really are something else.

You have so much knowledge of what you write it’s incredible.

I have learned so many new things and words by reading this and I wanna thank you so much for opening my eyes to new experiences and perspectives.

I have grown so attached to this serie it almost makes me cry; definitely gonna read it again in the near future.

Finally.

You have finally finished getting ready for wherever Eunji was taking you. 

Frankly speaking, she had no idea herself. All she was told was that the two of you had to dress competently for a function.

Or as her friend Jimin put it, “Sexy enough so someone wants to take you home.” 

You watch your best friend finish off her already striking makeup with a bold red lip. Eunji has always been more of a fashionista than you, making sure that all the attention in the room is on her and preferably nobody else. It was her who had compelled you to primp up, and so here you were, looking the best you probably have in a while.

She let you borrow one of her dresses, an off-white midi dress adorned with lace upon silk, cosy to your body, its touch both light and soothing. You clipped your layered fringe back with a soft, pink bow and opted for a simple makeup look. 

Getting ready for an event is not your favourite sport, so having Eunji by your side is something you thank the heavens for repeatedly every time an occasion like this rises.

You now sit on your bed, tediously playing with your plushie whilst waiting for Eunji to finish. You sigh out loudly, making her turn to look at you, wondering what could possibly be bothering you now.

“Eunji…” You trail off, waiting for a response before continuing. A slight hum indicates that she’s listening and so you continue, “are you sure this is a smart idea? I mean he just told you that he’s in love with you and you’ve planned all this?”, feeling nervous as you heat up, wiping your sweaty palms on the pillow you have placed in your lap.

“Did you really just sleep with him?” Eunji spits out at you with eyes full of anger and deceit.

“She didn’t sleep with me! I would never even think of doing something like that.” Taehyung strongly defends himself whilst unwittingly shifting further away from you.

Your eyes follow his movements, eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

“Please, as if I’d be one to believe that.” Eunji scoffs as she paces back and forth in your bedroom, the feeling of stress overwhelming her completely.

“I’m literally in love with you, exactly why would I sleep with her?” Taehyung explains almost repulsively as he watches Eunji with careful eyes, evidently analysing her next possible response.

There was too much going on for you to even consider what thoughts you had brewing in your mind.

“You two have been spending an awful amount of time together, I wouldn’t be surpri-'' Eunji begins to snap back before she is interrupted by Taehyung once again.

“That doesn’t mean anything! She’s nothing compared to you! I love you!” Taehyung bellows out without any thought.

You feel your body go limp and your throat begins to tighten, tears threatening to spill.

Eunji’s face mirrors yours, pale with concern and hurting. Her expression softens as she stills in shock from Taehyung’s bluntness.

It takes Taehyung a moment to understand the tension he has now created. His stomach drops instantaneously as he slowly turns to look at you with guilt.

“Y/N I-” he utters quietly whilst moving forward, reaching for your arm. He fails to take hold of your crying self as you rush towards your bedroom door.

“Please, just leave.” Is all that you manage to muster out of yourself, before slamming the wooden door behind you.

Taehyung jumps at the sound of the damning slam as he falls back onto your bed, his pent up emotions finally escaping him. He bitterly regrets not having control over the harsh diction he had so casually spat out.

Taehyung lets his tears fall, cursing at himself for the seemingly irreparable damage he was now responsible for.
