Cassandra opened the door and stepped back, clearly not expecting someone to be waiting on her front steps. Vi looked around the councilor and her eyebrows flew up her brow in surprise. “Aunt Sevika?” she asked incredulously. Standing up in steel toed boots, dark leather pants with a few straps holding it together, and a cropped black muscle shirt with her signature dark, dull red and tattered cloak over one shoulder, was her mother’s best friend from when she was alive. “Hey, kid,” she grunted out.

There was an awkward pause and Caitlyn got the bizarre feeling that the woman didn’t actually want to leave. Caitlyn was surprised that she didn’t want her to leave, either. It lasted only a moment before the stranger lowered herself down partially. She looked up at Caitlyn one more time with a more serious expression. “You should lock your balcony. The next burglar may not be as nice.”

I don’t really have a lot of desire to use what little free time I have for a relationship, at least not with her. She can be fun and she is… experienced, as you’ve inferred.” Vi smirked and did a crude gesture with her fingers that made Caitlyn turn a bright red and Vi laughed. “But she’s better in small doses,” Caitlyn finished. She then looked at Vi hesitantly and slowly asked, “do you want to go to the Copper Kettle?” Vi shrugged. “I’m bored and I’ve been stuck inside for two days. You may not have a lot of free time, but my brothers, sister, and I have to find ways to entertain ourselves every day. I don’t handle boredom well.”

As the tether evolves, more than just magic begins to bond the two girls together and soon, Cait and Vi wonder if they truly want to get rid of it. (Relationship focus, rated M; slightly enemies to lover. WIP)

Burglars, Books, and Balconies: (Rated M) A modern AU one shot where Caitlyn catches a pink haired burglar breaking into her apartment and is shocked when the woman offers her advice on her dissertation research she had lying out. (Cute, funny, fluff. Completed)

On a *completely* unrelated note. Anyone have any good writing program recommendations? I have scrivener, but it’s so inaccurate for spelling/grammar that I get really annoyed by it, even if it’s good for planning.

Idk wtf happened but none of my edits in AO3 were changed and I didn’t know until I posted ch 22 of Heart Made of Glass, Mind of Stone. I took the chapter down and will have to wait a few hours before I’m able to fix it. There were some pretty heavy changes made so it was easier to just take it down. Sorry everyone!!! If you managed to read it before even the email update went out, you get a preview, albeit an inaccurate one. lol

Okay, for real this time, I plan on having the next chapter of "Low Lays the Devil in Me" out either late tonight (US time) or tomorrow morning, but most likely tomorrow. I'm happy with how it's turning out, and it's a nice little set-up chapter for the last arc of our story. Sorry it's taken me longer than planned, but it's coming along! I'm about 4000 words in and maybe have about 1000 words left, but alas, I must work.

I will let you guys know now that there will not be a sequel to this fic. I already have the ending planned and have had the same scene planned since the first chapter of this fic. It's been a lot of fun to write, but it will be a complete story that ends this series nicely, if I may be so bold as to say so.
