"Heart Made of Glass, My Mind of Stone" CaitVi Chapter Ten: The Request

Vi stared at the woman. For a long, long minute. To the councilor’s credit, she did not squirm or repeat herself. The teenager let out an uncomfortably chuckle, unsure how else to react. Vi would have been less surprised if the councilor had asked her to pose naked as an art installation at the Gala. “I’m sorry,” Vi said very carefully. “You just asked me, a sump-raker who has only–” “Violet, I really must say, I truly dislike how often you refer to yourself in such derogatory terms,” the councilor interrupted in an unhappy tone. Vi rolled her eyes. “You want me, an orphan Zaunite born in the deepest depths of the fissures and who tried to rob you, to be Caitlyn Kiramman’s—your daughter’s—date to one of the most extravagant Piltover high society celebrations of the year?” Vi asked, hoping the woman would hear how ludicrous that sounded. “Yes,” Councilor Kiramman said with no hesitation.

Councilor Kiramman has a potentially awkward request to make of Vi. Vi finds herself at the Kiramman Manor, again, to speak with Caitlyn about her mother's awkward request.

I know I just put out the new chapter for "Tethered," but I'm extra excited for the next one. It's a completely new one, besides the prologue, of this rewrite.

I'm about halfway through the first chapter of "Heart Made of Glass" sequel and I am just so excited! It's way better than the first chapter of the first fic, imo, and I hope you guys like it!!

“You’re staring,” Caitlyn muttered quietly to Vi as the adults examined Jayce’s chalkboard of runes. He was walking them through how he wanted to use them to try to communicate to the Arcane tether. Vi smirked. “And? You’re hot, princess.” Caitlyn blushed and bit back a smile as she ducked her head. Vi swore she could practically feel Caitlyn’s heart skip inside her own chest. She sighed contentedly, resting her cheek on her hand to continue her examination of Caitlyn’s profile, which was much more interesting than the magic mumbo jumbo being discussed.

Haha, by making sure that the space between the toilet/shower and door will be exactly 14 feet. The large vanity will be on the other end of the bathroom, which is what makes it so large ;) They will just have to sit outside of the door while the other does their business. haha don't worry, I'm going to make it *that* kind of invasive.

Aaaaand I did it again. Lol Caitlyn has been there once, for the Remembering ceremony back in the first fic. Any chance someone wants to fix my memory of my own story that I made up so I don't ever forget anything??? lol

When you make really long sequel to a really long fic, sometimes you make a small continuity error 😬 I fixed a tiny thing at the end Ch. 16 of "Low Lays the Devil in Me." I forgot Caitlyn had never actually been to the Sumps, she went to the level above it. Oops.

“I know I hurt your feelings, Vi. I’m not an idiot. It was all over your face. I’m trying to apologize,” Caitlyn stated, interrupting her thoughts. Vi began to remove her clothes to change for Caitlyn’s lessons that would start soon. “You already apologized, princess. Not sure what you think has changed between last night and this morning,” she replied, pulling on a plain brown linen shirt and her most comfortable pair of leggings. “I’m not saying it just to say it, Vi. I truly didn’t mean what I said, I promise you.” Anger flared up in her, and she rounded on Caitlyn, startling her into taking a step back. “You Pilties and your promises. Do you have any idea how many of them your people have made to mine, only to break them? All you know how to do is talk. Like that will solve any of our problems,” she scoffed. “If you think that your words last night were the most horrible thing I’ve ever experienced at the hands of a Piltovan, you’re as arrogant as every other Topsider. Caitlyn does something that completely shocks Vi, and Vi slowly starts to figure out what has changed about their tether.

I spent all morning writing the next chapter of “Low Lays the Devil in Me” after I posted the previous one and wow, long action scenes are fun but hard to write. They all have to be different without being too insane that they’re not believable, the pacing has to be right, you want the characters all to shine, but also struggle and all while you have to keep in mind the greater plot. It’s been a blast but definitely a little frustrating.

Hi Caitlyn Kirammans.I've read chapter 14 of "Low Lays the Devil in Me," and there's a threatening line Smeech gives Caitlyn about damaging one of her eyes before she takes her to meet the Chembarons, which really caught my attention.

Later in the story, will Caitlyn get her eyepatch? How did it happen at the end of "Arcane?"

I won’t say if she gets the eyepatch cuz I honestly don’t know yet. Given that Jinx and Caitlyn are parallel characters in the show, this scene fits Caitlyn well, even if it’s directly inspired by the one with Smeech and Jinx in season 2. So I haven’t decided yet if Caitlyn still loses her eye.
