Dream JRNL #1
It is not a necessary evil, but an ever-present one: the abbreviated vocabulary used when texting. Like typos, you must be ever vigilant in a time of incredibly disposable communication. There are moments however, when typos happen; usually in those rushed or half-focused texts. For the past few months, I’ve been doing this thing where I will wake up and punch out a text with an autonomous thumb. I scarcely remember doing this in the morning but am always amused by them. So far, nothing bad has happened, so I haven’t switched to another form of alarm system that doesn’t have MMS capabilities. I actually don’t know what MMS stands for, I just know that it stands for something that means texting. Here is an example of one of these dream texts. Funny how just a little typo makes you look insane…
Legends of Rock #07 - John Lennon
Fab four week closes with the dashing John. He sang, played guitar and wrote consistently great Beatles tracks. These guys were truly Legends of Rock.
(all the Beatles are available through my shop and will be part of a set as well)
Legends of Rock #05 - George Harrison
Fab Four week continues with the lead guitarist for the boys from Liverpool. George seemed like a pretty cool guy, and seemed to stay cool for his entire career, which had to be hard. Big props to George.
Bird 3: Double-crested Cormorant
Chugging along on birds. Here is a bit of beak detail for the big water bird. I’ve made all these birds pretty happy looking - this guy wins for that so far.
Legends of Rock #06 - Paul McCartney
Fab four going strong with the guy holding it down on the low end and writing a whole lot of tunes - some not the best, but some timeless and wonderful. Don't get much bigger a rockstar than Paul.
Bird 9: Canada Goose
I am making a concerted effort fo finish up the Birds of Brooklyn poster by the end of next week. It will have 15 of the most commonly seen birds around Brooklyn, mostly my home-base Prospect Park. This one here is the venerable Canada Goose. I've always been into these birds as we had dozens that would summer in the pasture next to our house.
Bird 11: Yellow-rumped Warbler
This is a fun bird that you see pretty often. The "yellow-rumped warbler" category is often used to generally classify a group of four different warbler varieties, if you needed to know that. This is one of the cute ones. I have the Birds of Brooklyn poster nearly all laid out with type and everything. Should be rolling it out real soon.
St. Valentino & His Corpse Army
Hey folks, today is Halloween. I was looking around my music library and found an old Valentine’s Day mix I made, and boy, it’s got some pretty dark stuff in there for that holiday. It’s all about zombies and lady snatching. SO, I thought it would be perfect to unleash this thing on the day of ghouls. It is a mix of some fine songs with a narration of the young Victor Valentine’s life, written by me and voiced expertly by a computer. Follow Victor on his quest to find a woman, crossing the fields of Chick Chick Chick, swimming the sea Fortuna and scaling the cliffs of Gabeldor. Witness his downward spiral into darkness and evil - and hope against hope he comes out the other end with that he most desires. Enjoy!
