A grown-up Sokka reunited with a grown-up Foo Foo Cuddlypoops
Day 29: dragon
“Maybe we can control hothead! Then he can make us pizzas, play video games with me, and even clean my room!!” Season 5 ep 3
I hope you don't mind me just dumping all these ideas on you, you're just really kind and I love your blog
I have to honestly say I don't remmeber how Sokka's relationship with Appa went, but they do work well together (but then again, Appa works well with all of the Gaang). And then there's Foo Foo, the adorable saber-moose-lion, who doesn't leave him alone when he's trapped even if he originally was hunting it (it's mother didn't approach calmly but that's not a surprise, all things considered). And mid-fight when Fong tries to trigger the Avatar state (2/?)
Sokka just simply. Throws himself onto one of the Ostrich Horses. Maybe they're trained to be calmer, but still. He's sort of 'the enemy' so I think it's neat how he just causally rides it around with great skill. And in The Cave of Two Lovers it's he who first climbs onto one of the great badgermoles IIRC, and we can't forget the 'enemy birds' who immediately jumped onto his head when undercover in the fire nation. Super cute! And last but not least, Hawky! (3/?)
It's pretty clear Sokka hasn't really handled any messenger hawks before given that he doesn't seem to know how it works, but the two seem to figure it out between them. I hope he got Hawky back after the war, I was so sad when Katara and Toph just sent him away without asking :c But anyway, the main point is that Sokka is great with animals! And I can only imagine that when he moves to the palace he brings in tons of animals to Zuko's amusement and the guards frustration :) (4/4)
i adore this!!! sokka is so good with animals and now i’m picturing the turtleducks congregating around him and zuko is jealous (of sokka? or of the turtleducks getting all the attention from sokka? you decide)
She’s pretty much a pain. She’s always got to be right about everything and she gets all bossy and involved and in your business. Yeah. I don’t know how you could deal with it. Actually, in a way, I rely on it.
Managed to get a few quick snapshots of the Warner sibs hugging/putting arms around each other or just being in close contact because it's just what siblings do.
thinking about sokka hugging piandao goodbye before sozin’s comet.
there are only so many world leaders, right? and they’re all beholden to sokka in some major way…
the avatar: will be 35 years old and still have a pavlovian response to sokka saying “all right everyone, time for bed!”
the firelord: so ride or die it’s honestly concerning
the earth king: owes to sokka his newfound knowledge of basic critical thinking skills
chief of the northern water tribe: his daughter seemed to think he was pretty dope before she turned into the moon
chief of the southern water tribe: thinks her brother is an idiot but has good ideas sometimes, and appreciates the fact that he doesn’t care whether or not he gets credit for them as long as they’re implemented
not to mention that toph is basically a one-woman weapon of mass destruction who does not listen to anyone—with the crucial exception of one person—and guess who that is!
and he’s basically an honorary member of the white lotus???
basically what I’m saying is sokka secretly rules the world
Iroh: People work their entire lives to find spirits and access the spirit world. It has taken years of dedication and study for me to reach the small part of it that I’m able to find.
Sokka, who accidentally steered a canoe to where the Avatar had been frozen for a century and then fell in love with the moon and also spent 24 hours in the spirit world that one time and was the only one who the hallucinations flat-out spoke to in the magical swamp: what, like it’s hard?
you know what i just realised? that katara, telling sokka that he ‘didn’t love their mother like she did’ was after sokka lost yue.
like. her brother not only lost his mother and then had his father leave which made him overprotective and extremely fearful of losing people he cares about, but then he also fails to protect his first love after being appointed as her bodyguard which only makes him feel like more of a failure, to the point where he’s desperate and guilty enough to break hakoda and suki out of prison with no backup, because he believes the failure on the day of the eclipse is his fault.
apart from aang, sokka probably knows more about loss than anyone else on that show, not because he’s experienced a lot of it, but because he didn’t get angry at the people who killed them: he internalized it.
Katara: are you talking to yourself?
Sokka: yes. It’s the only way I can have an intelligent conversation in this house
