Katara: are you talking to yourself?
Sokka: yes. It’s the only way I can have an intelligent conversation in this house
thinking deeply about the sokka/suki of it all in “the serpent’s pass,” how sokka spends the whole episode terrified of something happening to suki and turning away when she tries to kiss him, only it’s when he finds out that SHE came along to protect HIM that he can finally take that step and be with her. sokka is good at protecting people but he’s finally in a relationship where he doesn’t have to be in that role all the time. he can let himself be protected and taken care of. anyway hashtag sokka is the little spoon
Iroh: People work their entire lives to find spirits and access the spirit world. It has taken years of dedication and study for me to reach the small part of it that I’m able to find.
Sokka, who accidentally steered a canoe to where the Avatar had been frozen for a century and then fell in love with the moon and also spent 24 hours in the spirit world that one time and was the only one who the hallucinations flat-out spoke to in the magical swamp: what, like it’s hard?
you know what i just realised? that katara, telling sokka that he ‘didn’t love their mother like she did’ was after sokka lost yue.
like. her brother not only lost his mother and then had his father leave which made him overprotective and extremely fearful of losing people he cares about, but then he also fails to protect his first love after being appointed as her bodyguard which only makes him feel like more of a failure, to the point where he’s desperate and guilty enough to break hakoda and suki out of prison with no backup, because he believes the failure on the day of the eclipse is his fault.
apart from aang, sokka probably knows more about loss than anyone else on that show, not because he’s experienced a lot of it, but because he didn’t get angry at the people who killed them: he internalized it.

Bumi: Ohhhhh!! SoMEONe just got hitched! 🤪
Jeong Jeong: I wish you joy. Love is so rare and difficult to find, protect, and cultivate.
Iroh: What a blooming bride! 😊
Piandao:
Piandao: I think your new grandson just showed up at my house for sword training
Piandao: he doesn't know shit
Been experiencing two polar thoughts about this scene…
1. There is no way Sokka is expecting to win this battle. He is the one and only warrior left in the village, about to face down a Fire Nation ship all by himself. Sokka has been the epitome of bravery since the very beginning.
2. Sokka can’t draw worth shit, and yet he sure can perfectly apply war paint on himself without even so much as a mirror aksdflj
We all know that Sokka bears resemblance to his dad, but can we just take a moment to appreciate how much his mom looks so much like him in the flashback from the southern raiders?
It’s that concerned, reassuring, and yet somehow determined look. It’s one that only a true leader could bear. And this says a lot about Sokka’s own personality too as he develops into a leader and warrior throughout the show.
Can you make an incorrect quote about Shinso and Kaminari?
Hitoshi: Hey Pikachu, how are yo-
Denki: You know, I never felt like a Pikachu. I feel more like a Jolteon. I don’t know why people refer to me as Pikachu.
Hitoshi:
Hitoshi: Kitten, do you not feel like a Pikachu, because you don’t feel like the main character? So you instead go with Jolteon, because he isn’t very important in the show?
Denki:

Mina: *In the bushes getting the tea*
Hitoshi: I’m getting Aizawa.
