People underestimate how much it fucks you up to be subtly excluded as a kid. I would try to talk to my classmates and be met with disinterest or annoyance. The one friend I had, who I clung to and nodded along to his every word, had other friends he liked just as much or more. And his other friends didn’t care for me at all.

I look back at pictures from the time and see how separated I was from them. I remember knowing I was different. I remember posing questions about the world to the girls playing next to me and realizing that they had never asked the same ones to themselves. That the ways we thought couldn’t be more different.

I kept myself amused with my own fanatical stories and musings in my head. I would wander the playground on a circular path, imagining a friend and being sorely disappointed when it didn’t feel as real as I’d hoped.

There was a bubble separating me from everyone else, thin, and nearly invisible, but with a pearly sheen you could catch under the right conditions. I knew it was there, they knew it was there, and it changed me

sorry to all the rhythm thief fandom. i got too used to calling charlie a he/him at first that learning charlie was a she/her was like being thrown COLD WATER at the FACE. and then learning charlie was very transcoded was like being thrown HOT WATER at the FACE right after the COLD WATER at the FACE and i, honestly, have been thrown water of multiple temperatures for misgendering characters so i pretty much would rather call charlie......... charlie

usamericans do you realise that a stereotype we have about u is that you really really love ice. like the amount of ice you put in your drinks and all your ice machines are really silly to us. do your fridges genuinely produce ice????

"my school's PE was terrible actually!" oh dear! :((( my PE was great but i hated it because i was an audhd child in a classroom full of mean girls

"my school food was terrible actually!" oh dear! my school sold food in a bar and it was pretty good but some prices too high for our economy. but with 6 weekly dollars you could survive with some good food!

"my school schedule was terrible actually! we started like at 1pm and finished at 6pm" oh noo!! my school schedule started at 7 and finished at 1pm for them small children and 2pm for them older children and 3pm for them almost graduates but i really liked waking up at 5 for the bus driver who took his sweet time to get to school! and those extra activities that lasted until 5pm left me exhausted

our experiences can be terrible together even if mine seems like heaven to you

my cousin renamed PL:NWOS to "Flora and the Industrial Revolution (and her army of cows who caused it)". Its great. Plot twist flora and her cow army caused the industrial revolution. we know nothing else about the game
