old gods are waking
no you have to contribute to your fandom if you don't want it to die. most fandoms die because people say 'it's so sad watching the fandom die when the hype dies' without doing anything about it. I'm not saying you have to push out 100k word slow-burn fic, I'm not saying you have to make fan art or gif sets or edits or anything. I'm just saying we as a community should contribute to our fandom if we don't want it to die, and by contributing, I'm talking about giving kudos, commenting on your favorite fics, reblogging your favorite art and just talking about your favorite characters. that's enough to keep a fandom alive. that's the most effective way to keep a fandom alive in my humble opinion.
fandoms die because people stop talking about it, fandoms die because people stop engaging with fan content once the hype is gone. what I'm saying is, mainstream media's hype may be gone, but our fandom can stay alive and thriving if us as a community don't let it die.
my biggest challenge is not making outlines for each chapter.. ill get bored and add some cat or random kid that changes everything.
Writers, what’s the biggest challenge you have with writing? I’m curious if there’s a common denominator here
✨ im an angel ✨
Your sixth most recent emoji is how your guardian angel feels about you
(Because how they stand can say more than how they speak.)
Upright and stiff — Formal, tense, or deeply uncomfortable. Slouched shoulders — Insecure, exhausted, or defeated. Relaxed stance — Open, comfortable, confident. Hands in pockets — Guarded, casual, or hiding something. Crossed arms — Defensive, cold, or waiting to be impressed. Leaning forward — Engaged, flirtatious, or impatient. Back straight, chin high — Proud, stubborn, or putting on a show. Shifting weight side to side — Nervous, indecisive, or stalling. Foot tapping — Anxious, impatient, or barely holding it together. Arms loose at sides — Neutral, calm, open to the moment. Fidgeting with sleeves/hair/etc. — Inner turmoil disguised as casual touch. Spine curled inward — Trying to be small, invisible, or unnoticeable. Standing too still — Suppressed emotion, discomfort, or internal freeze. Dominant stance (feet wide, chest forward) — Confidence, aggression, or showmanship. Head tilted slightly — Curiosity, confusion, or playful challenge.
cant wait to read it lmao 💀
sunrise on the reaping is just this onion headline over and over again:
yk that feeling when your mutuals with your fav fanfic author-
im pretty sure someone made a post about it and now im just gonna confirm it cuz queenofquestions (quizzicalquiver on ao3) just followed me on tumblr (ITS CLOSE ENOUGH) and i feel like a god.
@queenofquestions what did i do to deserve this honour T-T
@queenofquestions if u havnt seen this already then i recommend you archive lock your fics so only signed in users can see it (hearbreaking, but the only option) and resend this to anyone else you know with fics on ao3, stay safe (also anyone else that sees this)
Since AO3 has been scraped due to Hugging Face, I have officially decided to change the visibility of my AO3 fics from "Show to all" to "Only show to registered users". This is something I have been thinking about for a while. I did a poll about, "What are you doing about you fanfics on AO3 and AI stealing them?" over a year ago.
The poll can be found here: https://www.tumblr.com/stars-forever/748514895577939968/what-are-you-doing-about-you-fanfics-on-ao3-and-ai?source=share
I have enabled comment moderation on all my fics for a while, but after having pretty much all of my works effected by the Hugging Face scraping, I feel like changing my fics visibility is the best thing to do at the moment.
I have been putting this off for so long because I was once someone without an FF.net and AO3 account, and read fics as a guest, but I don't want to take the chance of having my works put into an AI again.
Thank you to all the guests who read my fics, left kudos, and comments. I couldn't have gotten here without you guys. Thank you also to all the users who also read my fics, left kudos, and comments. I couldn't have gotten here without you guys either.
At this time, I am only changing the visibility of my fics on AO3 and not FF.net. Most of my fics on FF.net are older ones and are not posted on AO3. I don't think there is a way to change a fic's visibility on FF.net, but if someone knows how to please let me know.
If you need an invitation for AO3, please let me know, and I can send you one.
I'm really sad that I have to do this, but it is best for me and my work. These changes will take effect within 24 hours. Thank you, everyone, for understanding.
