I'm gonna try drawing tonight. I don't know what but it's calling me to bring it to life. I should probably read a book too...

OH I FINISHED LUCIFER YEYEYYEE, I loved that show so much! Time to finish Dr House md. I wouldn't have changed the way Lucifer ended, but I'd love a special episode, but I suppose I can do without it.

Sometimes, all it takes is a quarter turn.

That dried paint blob: smeared, ugly, accidental — can become a dancing figure with big shoes, a biker, an abstract expression, if you just tilt it. And what if your life is the same? What if you’re not broken, lazy, or lost, but simply looking at your own story from the wrong side?

We’ve all been there. Hair greasy, phone hot from hours of scrolling, a million open tabs and zero opened dreams. You’re rotting in bed, flicking from one TikTok to another, laughing, then crying, then dissociating, watching other people live out the things you swore you’d do. It’s addicting. Comfortable. Even aesthetic. "Girl rot" became a moodboard, for Christ's sake but no one tells you that staying there too long leaves you hollow.

But here’s the truth, my dear angels: you’re not the paint blob. You’re the hand turning the page. You decide the angle.

So how do you shift perspective when everything feels heavy? When life is a loop of doomscrolls, late-night existential spirals, and the occasional burst of fake motivation?

You start slow. You start small. You turn the page.

Guys the CRAZIEST thing happened to me today... I PAINTED😨😱

I know you're like, huh??. But like I really dislike using color or paint to do faces, I've been forever loyal to pencil and charcoal. Ive only use acrylic to paint 3 abstract pieces which is impressive considering I also dislike abstract works but I had to force myself to get rid of the impostor syndrome 😍.

Anyway so I made myself countdown from 5, so that I could immediately get out of bed and do something. I was thinking of painting but then I was like ehhh, but then I told myself 'NAH IN 5 SECS YOU GET TF UP!!!' so I did.

The butterfly effect is real, coz what if I didn't get up to paint...then I would've never found out that I am ridiculously good at painting for someone who hasn't EVER painted portraits before, and has only been obsessing over old art masters.

Woke up late, hospital visit, mall walk, FINALLY GOT THE COURAGE TO ASK IF KFC WAS HIRING AND THEY SAID YES WOOHOO, ate KFC and saw that the manager gave me 2 extra chicken pieces 🤭 (he wants me to apply so baddddd), bed rot, study Italian while simping on Dr. House yet again, gonna draw some ocs before bed while, you guessed it, simping on Dr. House 😝.

Extra Tips I Searched:

Don’t skip moisturizer. Even if you're oily. These ingredients can dry you out.

Use SPF during the day. AHAs and BHAs make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Don’t undo your progress. I used a sunscreen with vitamin C to help brighten at the same time.

Give it 4 weeks minimum. Skin cycles take time. Don't expect overnight results.

This routine isn’t about perfection. It’s about tuning in, being gentle but consistent (tbh I was impatient but I pulled thru it😮‍💨) and letting active ingredients do what they were made to do. So first off, to get out of a slump, it's important to acknowledge that it's a common experience that most people go through at some point in their lives. Feeling unmotivated, uninspired, or stuck can be difficult.

TAKE A BREAK: Allow yourself to take a step back and rest. Taking time off to relax and recharge is essential for your overall well being. Try to do some activities that bring you joy and help you de-stress.

START SETTING GOALS: By setting little goals at a time it makes your tasks less overwhelming and more manageable for you to complete. As you complete these smaller goals, you'll regain a sense of accomplishment and motivation. No matter how small the goal is, you're still making progress.

ENCOURAGEMENT: Try to find encouragement and motivation to do things like watch someone influential that brings you good vibes and positivity to get your stuff done.

SWITCH UP YOUR ROUTINE: This step really works for me when I'm in a slump, sometimes, a change in routine can help break the monotony and stimulate your mind. By introducing novelty into your routine, you may find yourself feeling more inspired and motivated.

SELF CARE: Another thing that works for me is having a moment (or a few moments) of self care, mentally and physically. Taking care of yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally is crucial when you're in a slump.

Getting out of a slump is a process, and it's okay to have ups and downs along the way. Focus on progress, not perfection. With time and effort, you'll find yourself gradually emerging from the slump and regaining your motivation and inspiration.
