Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon! This silly little strip is my submission to Atomic Books'  Mutant! #3, which they'll be releasing for Free Comic Book Day. Check out the previous issues here.

Spoiler alert: she dead! I actually really love Sailor Moon. I collected the comics, and copied the drawings voraciously (there's probably a seriously embarrassing sketchbook full of them somewhere). It was definitely a huge influence...and I might still watch the show.......?

Sometimes the little odds and ends from demos I give in my Digital Illustration class result in halfway-decent miniature drawings. Other times they are doofus beavers I guess.

(this was a request from my darling students so I refuse to be wholly blamed!)

I had the opportunity to work with Meg Mateo Ilasco at Anthology Magazine recently for their 2013 Winter and Spring issues. Here's my illustration for their seasonal Screen Play article and a map (which I rarely get the chance to do!) for their feature on Oakland. These were both uniquely-proportioned layouts and so this was a fun exercise. Anthology is a beautifully designed and curated magazine, so if you haven't already, definitely check it out!
