hello sweet prince! quick little sketch of my current favorite drawing indulgence.
I got NOBROW 6 in the mail the other day and it is awesome to see it in person. I cannot believe how much talent is packed into this thing! It's really a gorgeous book, and everyone should grab a copy.
*Update!*
Preorders for The Warriors baseball tees are up over at Pizza Party!
"Suzy, do you know anything about...witches?"
Suspiria, a masterpiece by Dario Argento. This trippy, amazingly surreal horror film is the subject of my newest tshirt design for Pizza Party Printing's upcoming movie night at the Ottobar. They'll be showing not only Suspiria, but the 1989 horror, The Church (paired with a fucking metal shirt by Jimmy Giegerich), so if you're in Baltimore at the end of the month, be there! Immerse yourself in blood and beer (and the music of the one, the only Goblin). It's gonna be spooky.
The Suspiria shirt is up for sale now at Pizza Party! Pick one up while you can!
I liked that NYT illustration so much when I first saw it earlier this week; I'm glad it showed up again in my Tumblr feed. Your art is really fantastic, and it encourages me to keep drawing! Best, Sam
Thank you so much!! Your kind words will encourage me to keep drawing too! (Let's all keep drawing!)
A few days ago, the Damn Fine Coffee! Kickstarter ended with wild success! I just want to send out a quick thanks to everyone who pledged their support, spread the word, and sent me and the contributing artists tons of encouragement. Thanks!
Now to the grindstone! (I mean the printing house! (I mean the Bookhouse! What?))
It's Hedorah! A glow-in-the-dark blue and pink color way Hedorah, which is one of mine from our collection. There are so many great variations for Hedorah figures. It's definitely one of my favorites and its respective film is real wacky.
Here's some more little slobs!
hey is damn fine coffee available to buy on the internets? co-workers all over the place be askin where they can get their hands on it !!!
Oh man! Excellent!
So here's the status on Damn Fine Coffee!: Right now, I'm sorting and mailing out the books already spoken for from my Kickstarter campaign. Once those are set aside, I'll be putting the books online to sell. I should have something around 150 available (a more accurate quantity pending), and they'll be $10 before shipping. So check back soon! I'll be posting again with an update and link to buy the books in the next few days. Thanks!
A 2012 year-end review! Here are some of my favorite pieces I created in 2012. All of these were either tons of fun to make, helped me grow in some way, or gave me a chance to play with something new. Looking back, I think what I've learned from this past year, and what I need to do better this new year is simple: Make more. More more more. More.
2013! Gonna make so much more!!
