Thank you so, so much! That's really lovely to hear :) And I haven't updated my Society 6 store in a little while, so if there's something not for sale on there that you want to be on sale, please let me know! I'm just here to oblige...
Today is Kali Ciesemier's birthday. I made this ridiculous thing expressly for her. She's wonderful (and one of my best friends, y'all) so wish her a happy birthday!

HOLY HELL KALI YOU ARE AMAZING (she got my colors right and everything <3)
Not only is Andrea Kalfas an amazing artist, but she’s my best buddy, all-around lovely lady, AND IT’S HER BIRTHDAY TODAY! THIS IS FOR HER! I wanted to pay her back for her bootylicious gift to me, and I’m sure you can guess what we’ve been watching a lot of, lately. Happy Birthday girl! Thank you for protecting us all with your powers of love and justice and badassery!!!!
Hey everybody! I'm starting some special commissions as a way to raise funds for printing my next comic, "Tales from Aeaea #2"!
If you love cooking and maybe also have an appreciation for the strange or fantastic, I'll create a full-body portrait of you in the style of my "Cauldrons & Casseroles" zine. You could become a witch crafting cupcakes, a goblin making goulash, or a necromancer raising the bread! (I'm so sorry...wait–no wait, don't go!)
Here are the details:
For $75, you'll get an original ink drawing of yourself transformed into a fantastic character making your favorite dish, with a full background at 8.5" X 11" on archival bristol paper shipped to your door.
For an extra $25, I'll color your ink drawing like the examples above and mail you a print on high-quality 8.5" X 11" matte paper along with your original ink drawing.
Curious about what your portrait might look like? Take a look at these images from my "Cauldrons" zine!
If you'd like an original piece by me, personalized and completely unique, send me an email! I'll need a photo of you, your dish of choice, and any other preferences you might have. Payment required upfront. Domestic US shipping costs are included. I’ll provide a quote for international shipping. Pieces will be produced and mailed in order of requests made.
You can also visit my store here to pick up a copy of “Cauldrons & Casseroles” and the first “Tales from Aeaea.”
Thanks so much for taking a look and please share!
Today's warm-up: this neon swamp grump 🐸
I recently did this piece for Bust Magazine's Oct/Nov issue on newstands now, for the article "Backseat Drivers No More" as part of their News From A Broad section. Big thanks to my AD Erin Wengrovius who pushed for those sweet pink lucite wayfarers.
Andrea you deserve the buffalo much more than I do, you work is intimating and excellent!
Thank you! but I don't know about that! Your work is amazing!! I think The Buffalo is an honor to be shared after all...perhaps it should become the new Grammy or -insert award here- of art blogs?
It's Hedorah! A glow-in-the-dark blue and pink color way Hedorah, which is one of mine from our collection. There are so many great variations for Hedorah figures. It's definitely one of my favorites and its respective film is real wacky.
Here's some more little slobs!
Bat boy!
This little cutie was the subject of another gouache demo given to illustration students at MICA. He's the finish of this work-in-progress shot.
I love him...
