posting videos on tumblr seems to be a billion times more enjoyable than trying to post them on twitter. oh and yea now the characters move a bit when they do stuff.
The whole point is to provide context on what important modifiers might have applied to the damage. I've overhauled the battle system a bit since so they don't look like this anymore but yea progress...
making this background was kinda hard. I think it turned out alright.
my super wack workflow, ngl even though it's okay I want to redraw all the characters, but it will screw up the scale of the enemies and environment unless I redraw them with a similar size and proportion, but if I do that, did I really redraw them?
This is a gimmick I've been looking into, at the cost of a turn you can bank an action to use later immediately after someone else. This seems pretty useless but could be helpful in applying status effects that can combine, I still need to think about it lol.
A dump of some things. I briefly mentioned how I had rewrote the game in Godot 4. During the transition I decided to give up on pure 2D and just make a 3D game that looks 2D... so in my own words, pearlessential is now a Psuedo2D game. Here are some captures from early in the transition.
sometimes I direct link to the image on Twitter. I am now realizing that might be a mistake and like a few posts might die out of nowhere. Oh well everything is preserved pretty nicely on discord
Hello, this is Ali from the future just checking in to show off these amazing new isosprites. Now you can see Jordan and Phoebe on the overworld. Way better than Alice and her two doppelgangers. The hardest to make had to have been Phoebe tho. Her hat is nuts.
Oh nyo
Just some old Juice FX testing I found on my drive.
A blog for a game about a rather peculiar exam. Made in Godot Engine!
