So here we are, I ignored my own rules, but I’m really happy to have been able to claim your prompt. I hope you like how it turned out! Summary: Arthur caught sight of Merlin when there were maybe fifteen of them left. He faltered, jaw dropping open, and it was pure luck the man charging at him had terrible aim, or he would’ve failed out of the melee right then and there. Pulling himself together, he made quick work of his attacker, before putting some distance between himself and the others to collect himself. And, perhaps, to stare just a little. Merlin was… magnificent. He wielded his sword like an extension of his own body — a lesson most of Arthur’s knights had never truly mastered. His movements were quick and precise, yet fluent, graceful in a way Arthur had never seen before, as he landed disqualifying hits on two, three, four opponents in rapid succession. hello beautiful people, I was wondering if you could help me find a fic on ao3. I’m pretty sure it was post-war 8th year. Draco was being being bullied and harassed. I think Zachariah smith was one of the big bullies. And Harry is really possessive and protective of Draco. But Harry had started using dark magic and it was currupting him a bit. I think he almost killed someone for hurting Draco. He realized he was scaring Draco and stopped. Then he made a promise to Kingsley that he would stop using dark magic and the process was similar to a detox. I’m sorry if it’s too little or completely wrong. Thank you for anything tho

48hr tumblr blackout proposal

tumblr mobile has seadily become near unusable these past few updates. not just from a user experience perspective (which is important enough in itself) but also from an accessibility perspective.

examples include the new way the image viewer works (if you can call it "working"), the tumblr live button replacing the profile button, and that newly created blogs will be forced to have their main dashboard tab be the 'for you' page.

the demands of the protest would be along the lines of:

reverse the recent image viewer update

scrap the new users 'for you' page default setting

let us turn off tumblr live indefinitely

increase efforts against spam / porn bots

make reporting abuse and hate speech as easy as reporting as reporting spam

let us go nuts show nuts again... for real this time

commit to improving usability and accessibility, and listening to users!

to protest against these usability issues, and inspired by the recent reddit blackout, i propose a 48 hour blackout (where you don't use tumblr at all). preferably of both mobile and web (since web has problems too) but mobile is the focus here.

I suggest the 48 hours between the 30th of June to the end of the 1st of July.

this marks the end of pride month (for the "queerest place on the internet") and the start of disability month (since accessibility is a massive issue here).

I’m a teacher and my older sister is a lawyer so we always make jokes that I’m the broke one. One day I was babysitting my 5 year old cousin and we went to get froyo. Just as I was about to pay she goes “sweetie you can pay for that” I asked why not and her answer was “it’s because your broken remember” then she paid with the 10 dollars she got for her birthday

How does anyone hate kids they are so funny I sold tickets to incredibles to this little girl and her mom and she’s like mom are we sitting next to each other and the moms like ya and the kid screamed YES so loud it broke my ears

You know, nothing could convince me that Ginny wrote the valentine’s poem in Chamber of Secrets. Absolutely nothing. That is 100% an on-brand Draco Malfoy ‘ploy’ (okay) to ‘piss off’ (sure) his ‘rival’ (uh huh).

I mean, first of all, we pretty much always get a Dramatic & Cunning Draco Prank in the books (until he gets older and shit starts getting more real). Not so much in book one — he was still in Planning and Seething Mode™️ — but after that, Draco was like:

Year two: Stay up all night composing the perfect valentine poem to embarrass and annoy Potter

Year three: Stay up all night making Dementor costumes to scare and piss off Potter

Year four: Stay up all night making Potter Stinks badges because I’m so well-adjusted about him and barely think of him at all, actually

Also, I’ve talked about this before, but it really just doesn’t sound like Ginny. Why would she compare his eyes to pickled toads? (Meanwhile, Draco would 100% do that.) Why would she refer to the ‘Dark Lord’, when we only see Voldemort referred to as that by death eaters? And she had so much shit going on at the time, and was terrified of the gaps in her memory and what was happening — I don’t think she was writing love poems.

And really, it’s the fact that Malfoy is the one to act like Ginny wrote it. Which tells me two things:

He’s noticed Ginny’s crush and dislikes it (and is jealous/angry at her about it….. like why else would he care?? why would he notice???)

He’s deflecting attention from himself as the actual author of the poem

I can just totally see Malfoy finding out about Lockhart’s valentine idea, scoffing at Crabbe and Goyle and being like “that’s so stupid”, but then thinking about it later and telling himself “this is the perfect way to embarrass Potter.” Twelve year old Draco staying up late in his four poster bed, coming up with hilarious rhymes for his not-at-all-romantic love poem….. I see it. I see the vision.
