When you ship Elibarra and your teacher swears Elias is a really “good” friend:
Sir Liar
Sir Liar, how do you manage to be charming?
How can you fool your friends and victims easily?
Oh, you’re a warlock with that magic you’re spinning,
If a skeptic accuses you, you smile sweetly!
Sir Liar, looks like you’re losing your memory,
You’re starting to forget to weave the truth with lies
As you’re begin to forget your identity,
So you do your best to cover it with a smile!
Sir Liar, you’re looking a bit queasy and pale,
And why would a liar ask his friends for the facts?
Your tuxedo’s wrinkled, have you been drinking ale?
You’re losing victims ‘cause you’re forgetting your act!
Sir Liar, you’re walking without your great magic!
Everyone scrambles to hide from you, the faceless!
All say, “He’s a man cursed by a witch, how tragic!”
This warlock can’t speak magic no more, what a waste!
As someone whose country’s been colonised by 2+ countries, I find it accurate that Piltover didn’t really do that much reflection about how they screwed Zaun over. A lot
Now, if some dude claimed he's from the 1600s and just eradicated all witchkind and demonkind from the "Demon Realm," ofc I'd think he's crazy. But, thinking back to that episode with Vee and Jacob Hopkins, I don't Belos being cuckoo would be unanimous in everyone's head.
Yup, he's a crusty dusty creepy freak, although let's say he honors the deal with Luz and spares the squad. He goes through the portal, drags Hunter and co. kicking and screaming, with Luz beside him.
Gravesfield is a small place, so Belos goes around proclaiming that he saved humanity, and here, he brought proof.
They're teenagers, so why would Belos say they're pure evil? That should be the thought going through every human, right?
Right?
It comes down, I think, to the fact these teenage witches are seemingly overpowered. This time, most people wouldn't think like Belos did, focusing on religion only.
Consider how Willow COULD (but ofc wouldn't) strangle someone with a house plant. Consider how Gus can theoretically sneak in anywhere, fooling security cameras. Consider how Amity can use abomination goo, or in the human realm, mud or earth. Consider how Hunter is a child soldier who can probably kill a person. Consider how Vee can copy people, which she did with Luz.
That's scary.
To top it all off, they have Palismen. They're not guns, but some people in this theoretical scenario might argue they're somewhat the same. Palismen can fire spells, both offensive and defensive.
(Some might say they're vehicles, since Palismen can carry their witches "everywhere." Since Dana said the BI is as large as Vermont, then in this case the Palismen could do what airplanes couldn't: fast and efficient travel. Lawyers would scream it's a violation of aviation laws.)
No teenager should have this power. Right? In the BI this is normal. YET in the Human Realm this is not the case. Witches and demons, then, would be considered a security risk in all countries. Heck, world leaders might thank Belos for getting rid of most of these..."risks."
(I believe, too, prominent world leaders would want...very, very deadly tools. Willow, Hunter, Gus, Amity, Vee--they all fit the bill. Five teenagers with no laws protecting them. )
There would be a faction of people who don't give a shit about security, instead wanting to learn about the Boiling Isles and its inhabitants more. Yet, in this scenario, they might "dehumanize" witches and demons, viewing them as a sort of species they want to learn more about. Historically, there were HUMAN ZOOS. Wtf, yeah? How can humans do that to another?
Now *coughs*, back to religion. I won't be specific about which religions, but some I read about actively denounce witchcraft. Given the human idea of witchcraft, would the BI's "witchcraft" count as the same thing? It depends on how a religion defines witchcraft, but I'm certain most would say nay to magic in general. So, there's another bunch of people who are going to be glad Belos did what he did.
Buuut, there is a silver lining, I suppose. I'll use Caleb as reference, even though he barely had a minute of screen time. During the memory portrait with Caleb and Evelyn, he's either looking on with apprehension or fascination in regards to the Demon Realm. Given he was once a witch hunter and fell in love with a witch, it does show time would do wonders to acceptance.
So, yeah. Time is key.
In short: humans would be shit scared of witches, but they could change their minds about witch and demon kind. Probably they'd cancel Belos. Arrest him. Or whatever works.
Yet, again, as others in this fandom pointed out, Belos is terrifying because he's realistic. So, there would be a lot of similar people who'd share Belos's sentiments either due to prejudice, fear, or religion.
This is purely a "what-if" scenario, apologies for this ramble XD
Anywhoo, how's everyone doing so far? I hope y'all are doing great, I swear I'm overwhelmed by projects right now XD
Okay, has anyone ever tried explaining to a friend of yours (who is interested in you) that you are aroace and it terribly backfires?
Instead of them backing away, that little shit starts thinking, “Hehehe. They’re playing hard to get!” And then suddenly becomes closer as if they believe you were just capping the entire time.
Is this an aroace cannon event? Or is it just me?

Gray replaces blue,
Smoke is the new oxygen,
While buildings stand tall
The Midterm
The room’s deathly still,
Save for the scribbling of pens,
And students sighing
As an Asian, am disappointed no Asian pope was picked. However, I’m giggling that the conclave chose an American who CRITICIZED Vance.
Lmao he has dual citizenship with Peru. MAGA and Trump are in for a rude awakening!
What can the orange do? Deport this pope?
