Hi, I have some good news! My entire film “Orisha’s Journey” will be airing on Bronx cable TV this Saturday and I was featured in a hour length interview(O__O) on the show "Divine Speech & African Traditionalism" discussing my film and a few upcoming projects (among other interesting topics). So if you're in the area and you'd like to check it out, it will air this Saturday July 30th from 6:30-7:30pm (Channel 70, Bronx-Net TV). Hey y'all! I wanted to share a "Flower Spirit" sequence from my film Orisha's Journey. In African lore, it is believed that spirits dwell within all things and so all nature should be respected. Being of West African descent (Ghana) I grew up hearing tales of this sort which captured my imagination. (shout out to my boy Iker Maidagan on bkg colors!)

Hi, here are a few pieces that I had in the UZURI art show in Harlem on February 19th for Black History Month. It was my first time in an art show and it was a blast! Shout out to all the other artists and their awesome work!

The second, “Songs of the Ancients/Godstone Temple” will also be published in an Art Book by the great Meryl Rosner coming out in August called “Drawing with Dynamic Perspective: Art for Animation and Live-Action Film” (http://allworth.com/allworth?catid=0&id=12312) each is part of the world of my comic “Phoenix Quest” Thanks! PART 6- I took the original concept of “The Lady, Or the Tiger?” by Frank R. Stockton and decided to create my own version with original characters and dialogue. Here are the storyboards. (Please see other parts for the whole story) WIP

FILM FESTIVAL

Hi, everyone! I wanted to share some good news my film was selected to play at the Caribbean Tales International Film Festival in September. Also, I was fortunate enough to meet Director John Singleton at the 25th Anniversary of his debut "Boyz N the Hood," which made him the youngest (20 yrs.) director to ever receive an Oscar nomination. It was really inspiring to talk with him a bit and hear about the importance of recognizing one's culture and finding an artistic truth to your work. Peace!- Abdul http://www.caribbeantales.ca/CTFF/
