Blackstans- it is so cruel to ask for an eye! How dare Alicent be such a cruel petty b****
Blackstans- A son for a son is only fair.
Looool. Itās only fair when itās their side getting revenge, obviously.
But itās very telling about how team black actually view these two ācomparableā scenarios.
On one hand, you have a mother whose son was just maimed and lost an eye, and whose abusive husband is completely uncaring at the loss and chastises her for her anger. And her screaming and crying, begging for justice falls upon a room of deaf ears. So, she lashes out and decides to deliver justice herself on the actual perpetrator who stabbed her child. And this moment of pain is seen by the fandom as quintessential proof that Alicent is evil, vicious, and malicious. And she can never and will never be forgiven for this lapse in judgement. Even though she vocally regrets it and denies the opportunity for the eye when sheās calm and her mind is clear.
Meanwhile, we have a mother and step-father who lost the life of a child, which is terrible. And their solution is to kill another child as revenge. However this is a child that is unrelated to the death of their son. Itās the nephew of the murderer. A little boy that was completely uninvolved (and this isnāt including the rape threats and emotional torture done to Helaena who is ALSO uninvolved). And yet team black sees this as a morally justifiable solution and seem to revel in the murder. Even though the victim isnāt at fault.
Itās just hard to wrap your head around. Alicent wanting to hurt the boy who maimed her son is evil and unforgivable, even when she is sorry for her actions. But Rhaenyra and Daemon killing an innocent boy is ok because their son was killed by someone who is on the side of the father of that boy??
Neither situation is justifiable or ok. But team green doesnāt support an eye for an eye, while team black does support and even revels in a son for a son. And either way, they arenāt comparable because one is wanting justice against the perpetrator and the other isā¦wanting to kill an innocent kid for violent revenge.
Spent a lil time making some wholesome doodles of my favorite SnK ship ā¤ļø
Sometimes it's nice to step back from how heavy the show actually is and draw something lighthearted āŗļø
Just wanna say this cause Iāve been seeing it around. This is my opinion, I may not have the same opinion as yours but I ask you respect it.
Rhaenyra and Dany are not alike. They are not the same. They will never be the same.
Rhaenyra could never do what Dany did. She wouldnāt survive that. Dany is her own storm in herself, she suffered through a lot and still had hope for a better tomorrow. Rhaenyra could never. I donāt like when people compare these two because you canāt compare Dany to Rhaenyra.
Dany is what a true Targaryen should be like. Sheās a true ruler in her own right. She rules with justice and fights for her people. She locked away her own children when she released that they had killed her citizens baby. She didnāt like it, but she has no choice. Dany didnāt grow up with the same privilege Rhaenyra did, nor did she have the support and options to gain control that Rhaenyra did.
No, Dany gained loyalty all on her own. She inspired hope in her people and they in return had faith in her rule. Dany built herself from the ground up. She struggled and fought for her right.
souls tied, intertwined by our pride and guilt
Otto: Your other son, Daeron
Alicent and every audience member who hasnāt read the book:
I swear to God, if we get a repeat of 1x09 where a teenage Jaehaera questions if Aegon loves her (especially if it's right before his death), I will be doing something dangerous.
The show is not smart enough to do this, but they should. They should have Aegon mourning Jaehaerys intensely and Jaehaera perhaps losing the relationship she used to have with him. So at the end, right before he dies, Jaehaera says that she's sorry she's not Jaehaerys and questions Aegon's love for her, and he whispers, "You imbecile."
Ahhhh this is beautiful! My day is made <3
Please can an artist draw Criston wearing the
"I'm not a step-dad I'm the dad who stepped up"
T-shirt cause that would literally make my day.
Mainly a Hotd blog but I also enjoy talking about Asoiaf and Aot. Book!Alicent and Criston slander is not permitted here. 19
