You stretch as your eyes flutter open, feeling well relaxed after your nap in such a comfortable bed. Wait a minute. Bed? You shoot up and look around. You have no idea where you are, or a better yet, where your pants are, because they aren’t on your legs like they were this morning. The last thing you remember is being in the van. You had just gotten off the boat and were on your way to the house you were staying at on Jeju.

You look around the room to see light streaming in the open windows, a light breeze blowing the curtains, your luggage placed neatly at the end of the bed. You hop up and walk over to the sliding glass door adjacent to you, opening it to be instantly greeted by the smell of salt water and the sound of crashing waves. You walk out onto the deck as the warmth of the afternoon sun envelops you. You walk to the edge and lean over the bannister, smiling when you see exactly how close you are to the water.

“Wow.” You breathe out, admiring the scenery around you. You thought places like this only existed in movies.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” A familiar voice behind you interrupts your thoughts.

I have to go. I’ll be back Monday afternoon and I’ll be all yours for two whole weeks before you have to leave again. You’ll be so sick of me that you’ll ask to leave earlier. I promise.” You peck him on the cheek as you pass by, and set your bag by the door.
