Where your favorite blogs come alive
If you're seeing this post it means you need to think about a bug right now
Doesn't matter what one
“Thought I'd inform you of the existence of this”
i have been sent this by several people and if i had money he would be mine instantly
putting them in a suit may be a slight addiction
speedpaint below cut (finally remembered to record lol)
i put them in a suit :>
the campaign they're from is going crazy
anyhoo bonus drawing:
MORE STRING BEAN ART YIPPEE
i love them so much
i want to throw them in a blender with all my other ocs and make a soup out of them <3
got some themes of substance abuse, so view at your own discretion :<
stayed up all night drawing it i need to make some more wholesome art of them :<
i feel like this one oc of mine needs some appreciation
their name is string bean, and they're a weevil. i made them for a dnd campaign. they were initially supposed to be the comedy relief, however, i realised, upon reviewing their past and world views, that they're actually fairly messed up :3
now my dnd party has to take a character named "string bean" seriously
fun facts about it:
all the points went to charisma
they're unemployed
they have a five foot long tongue
they have no teeth
they're carnivorous
it only wears a trenchcoat and nothing else
it has no mouth and it must scream
they're six feet and eleven inches tall
it's very self-conscious of its name
it is very paranoid
they'll trust literally anyone with their life
anyhoo this is what they look like
secret third image (accidental body pillow design)
i drew it at 4:00 am :3
i also drew them front-facing but ya'll don't get to see that. i just wanted to let the internet know that the image exists.
Asian Oak Weevil (Cyrtepistomus castaneus), taken May 25, 2025, in Georgia, US
A little oak weevil resting in the bend of a leaf! I happened to see this guy through a small gap in the leaf and turned it over to find this cute scene! He may be sleeping, as the weather was quite spotty and poor to travel in, but he could also just be chill like that. C. castaneus was introduced to the US from Japan in the early 1900s and has since spread throughout the Eastern US and SE Canada. They are considered invasive in some states due to native foliage damage brought on by infestations. Their patterning is quite variable—this is actually the first gray one I've ever found. Usually they're a matte brown for me, but they can also be nearly white. Many even have yellow or teal sides, which can faintly be seen in this individual, though not as brightly as some.
Pine Flower Weevil (Cimberis pilosa), taken April 1, 2025, in Georgia, US
Liftoff!! While I was photographing birds, this guy landed on my hand and spent a few minutes with me. I actually took him into my house to grab my macro lens and got it on just in time to catch him leaving! You can see that he's covered in pine pollen, as his name would imply. He's likely off to the next pine tree!
Drawing every outfit I did for my spamton plush before making more 3/6.
If you like spam listen to this, it sounds like inside noise in spamton's brain fr. And yeah i try to change a style of each drawing a bit 1/6
I don't usually reblog here, but this is so cool I have to share it here.
Thank you and snail hugggies for you 🐌💙
Hi! I just found this blog and I'm amazed with how cool your bug character design is!
Sometimes I'm also playing with anthro bugs, and I found it very challenging to balance bug/human traits ratio. You are doing it perfectly!! The insect i find most difficult to make anthro is acorn weevil (or weevils in general) I'm curious how would you bite this. Have a nice day :>
I SAW YOU PLAYING WITH ANTHRO BUGS AND IM SO IN LOVE WITH THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your words make me so so so happy i made a weevil. tysm for this request this is a perfect request
these photos do not do the justice bestowed upon those ol titles but man are they shiny
if any folks are strugglin to find more images of these fellas try aiming on bar for ‘peach weevils’
coming from that title alone, fickle things make a menace for many fruit trees alongside peaches but
back to the title though, have a timelapse of a six spotted leaf rollin weevil preparing a leaf for egg housin.
Purple leaf-rolling weevil, Rhynchites bacchus, Attelabidae
Found throughout Europe and into Asia
