Y'all I fumbled on a thrift store find. I rarely buy my pony toys new- I usually find them second hand and impulsively purchase them, because it's harder to resist when they're right in front of me. So I found this one set of Meet the Main 6 at a second-hand store. They were $5 a piece. $5 a piece for second hand toys should've been the first red flag 🚩BUT THEY WERE RIGHT THERE AND SO CUTE So I paid $30 for the whole set. Today I found the exact same set brand new online for $27. So $3 cheaper (meh not a big deal) but they were BRAND NEW. Verses my Applejack who has suspicious red stains on her 🙁

But alas, I will likely make this mistake again in the future because there's something much more satisfying about buying my ponies irl instead of online. Here's a pic of the mentioned set ⬇️

I think it is time I made my statements about the ships I enjoy from gen 4.

Full disclaimer though, these are my personal opinions! Everyone is entitled to their own headcanons and ships ^^ if you don't like mine, that's chill. As long as yours aren't problematic or harmful, I won't judge cause we're all just here to have fun 🙏

Likely my most controversial, but I ship Twilight Sparkle and Flash Centry. I can't help it. Them being canonically flirtatious in eqg wrapped its claws around my throat in 6th grade and I've never been able to escape. A tragic love story for the books.

I also enjoy it because her brother, Shining Armor, is a royal guard and with Princess Cadence. Flash Centry is a royal guard. Twilight is a princess. Do you see my train of thought?Also Twilight with any of the other mane 6 feels strange to me, although I can't express why.

I am a Fluttercord shipper. Fluttershy makes Discord lunches AND has pillows of them together in her cottage. And you know damn well they made those pillows together during one of their tea parties. They're canon without being canon and no one will ever change my mind. Also the tragedy of discord living long after Fluttershy. What is joy? I wouldn't know.

I ship Appledash in FiM and Rarijack in eqg. But also I think Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity should just be poly in FiM.

Pinkie pie and Cheese Sandwich.

I like it when they're canon.

Honorable mentions:

Flutterdash (because I'm a sucker for the protector x the lover trope) and FlutterHugger because they're stoners.

And Pinkie Favor or Party Pie or whatever (Pinkie Pie x Party Favor) but that's literally just because they're cotton candy together and they're both party ponies. I like pink and blue combos.

Its very likely that I'm forgetting some of the ships I enjoy but meh. That is all.

Do I have a RANT for you all.

I just finished watching S8 E16, “Friendship University” and the entire thing seems kind of silly to me! First of all, I was really hoping that Flim and Flam would actually aim to do better after they began running the resort in Las Pegasus. But at the same time, cons have been their thing their entire lives so it’s kind of refreshing to see people who aren’t particularly evil, they’re just kind shit and annoying as hell. But moreover, why would ANYONE, pony or otherwise, want to attend their school?

Obviously Flim and Flam are professional con artists and they did make a few good points. The legendary Starswirl the Bearded was attending their school (and using his studying as “motivation” or whatever for other students) and the school was located in a bustling city, Las Pegasus, with more opportunities than the small town that is Ponyville. This school was also accredited.

But even so!!! Twilight is the Princess of Friendship. She is an alicorn. ROYALTY. Not only is she Head Mare of her school, but it was endorsed by Princess Celestia, the ruler of Equestria. On top of this, the professors at her school are the other 5 of the mane 6. The school is literally ran and managed by the group of friends who saved equestrian MULTIPLE times. They published their friendship journal that got spread all throughout the lands. The school is wildly successful! Why would anyone ever choose Flim and Flam’s school when they could be taught under the literal Princess of friendship? Please make it make sense. I just think it’s silly. Anyway.

On a similar note, I think other schools of friendship across the lands isn’t such a bad idea! It would make spreading the magic of friendship a lot easier and the education more accessible to all kinds of creatures! I think it would be cool if this was an idea further explored in the series.

Maud casually breaking open a rock in front of Twilight’s castle in the season 8 intro is really funny to me for no reason.

I finished the first two episodes in season 8 of FiM. Oh my gosh??? They were so well written??? (School Daze, part 1 and 2).

I genuinely enjoyed these so much. I loved the commentary on very real issues that our society faces. The most obvious one was racism, with Chancellor Neigh Say making comments like “go back to your kind” and “these creatures”. This was written in an impactful way that resonated with me.

The Chancellor was allowing his stereotypes and prejudice to rule people as a threat, which is something every kind of minority can relate to. In one scene, Princess Celestia tells the Chancellor that, at one point in pre-equestrian history, the different kinds of ponies also treated each other the same way. They fought because of their differences, instead of allowing themselves to embrace them and coexist with one another regardless. The way that the writers addressed this was written effectively and in a realistic way. Especially when the students got into a fight. They were raised on stereotypes, and they had to de-program their brains to see that their differences didn’t have to be barriers to friendship. Literally the best kids show ever.

I’m gonna be honest, when I first heard about the whole Twilight-opening-a-school-of-friendship thing, I was skeptical. After all, doesn’t treating friendship like lectures take the value out of it? BUT THEY ADDRESSED THIS!! In fact, it was heavily based around exactly that. It’s such a good parallel to the effects of the American public education system (I can’t speak on private schools and other country’s policies since I haven’t experienced or educated myself on the topic). The students spent hours going from class to class, sitting through lecture after lecture. They got bored, antsy, frustrated, but most importantly, they didn’t learn anything! Because that isn’t an effective way to educate people, especially children with tons of energy. This is so so accurate to my experience in school, where I succeeded by putting in minimal effort. Showing my teachers what they wanted without actually caring about my education. Guys I love this show.

Also. This parallel. My heart. My itty bitty little pony filled heart.

I was watching a movie the other day and I heard the word "everybody" but my brain autocorrected it to "everypony". I think I'm cooked.

I’ve gotta say, I really enjoyed My Little Pony: The Movie. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect going into it. I think the pacing was done well, and I like the depth that we got to see in Tempest. She was an antagonist, but she also wasn’t a villain. She was just a hurt kid who wanted to feel normal again.

These two scenes really showed us how small and hopeless Tempest really feels, despite the fact that The Storm King seems like the most harmless villain ever. I mean obviously he isn’t entirely harmless; but he doesn’t seem very smart. Without Tempests help, he never would have been able to steal the Alicorn magic. Which makes me wonder why Tempests didn’t just do it all on her own. Is that explained in the movie?

I also love that they didn’t give her the horn back. She doesn’t need to be fixed; the world needs to see her as she is, and she is learning to come to terms with that. I think the movie portrayed this message well. It’s a good metaphor for any kind of disability in our modern society.

This movie also a had a lot of frames with all of the mane 6 together that were very pretty.

I also want to say that I really enjoy that the movie didn’t have the same animation and art style as the show. At first it felt strange, but it quickly became refreshing.

I just finished watching My Little Pony: The Movie for the first time ever and I’m absolutely obsessed with Songbird Serenades design. She deserves her own post.

She starts using it as a greeting towards the other mane 5 in the EQG universe and they're all staring at her like "????????"

amusing thought: since Equestria is mostly full of creatures that don't have hands, they probably don't have the gesture of giving the middle finger, and wouldn't know what it means if someone did it to them

However, Discord, interdimentional chaos god, has both hands and would absolutely know what it signifies beyond our forth wall.

I.E.: Discord trying to stay good and not upset Fluttershy so when he's annoyed at someone he flips them off, because it makes him feel better, and they have no idea what it means anyway

Funnier thought: Twilight once again visits the human world, and, not knowing what it means (or being convinced it means something else), does it to someone and has to learn in the most humiliating way possible that he's been telling her to fuck off all this time

I think of this scene every time I’m sweeping now.

His nervousness is the most relatable thing ever, I literally couldn’t breathe when I met my idol. Him standing so close was definitely unacceptable though, Twilight shouldn’t have had to ask him to give her space 😭

In case you’re having a rough Thanksgiving here’s a really shitty drawing I made on some random art program I found on Safari. I haven’t drawn mlp fanart since I was like 5 so I’m still trying to figure it out 💀

The one and only King Thorax of the Changelings! You have no idea how hard the obsession with him went when I was a kid… The Times they are a Changeling was my all-time favorite episode so I literally sketched out of the scenes in my notebook with little squiggly lines instead of dialogue (a few photos from said notebook under cut in case you don’t believe me)

Even as a kid I would always draw Thorax with heart-shaped glimmers in his eyes. I don’t really know why. For some reason it changed from blue pen to pencil after Thorax revealed he was a Changeling and ran away 🤔

I also sucked at art back then if you couldn’t tell. Sometimes I look at my old stuff and feel so proud of how far I’ve come. These drawings are from over a decade ago but even the difference between my art today and my art a year ago is crazy. Never give up because improvement will always catch up to you 🫶
