riki didn’t know why he was still standing at the edge of her apartment complex, hands shoved deep into his pockets, heart hammering like a drum in his chest.

He had walked away, hadn’t he?

He had left.

He had told himself that was it.

But now, with every step he took away from her, he realized just how wrong he was.

He couldn’t forget her.

He couldn’t stop thinking about the way she felt against him, how she tasted, how the world had melted away the second their lips collided.

He was hungry for her.

His body craved her, ached for her. And he couldn’t escape the gnawing feeling that corrupted him

y/n had just finished dealing with errands, her body tired and sore, when she heard the knock at her door. It was a familiar sound, but this time it made her heart skip a beat.

She stood still for a moment, unsure, her mind racing. She hadn’t expected him. Not now. Not after everything.

But the knock came again, more urgent this time.

Slowly, she moved toward the door, her hand resting on the doorknob. She hesitated for a moment, her breath catching. Was she ready for this? Was she ready to face him after everything they’d been through?

She exhaled shakily, steeling herself.

With a deep breath, she opened the door.

riki stood there, his eyes searching hers. There was no anger in them, no bitterness—just something raw, something he couldn’t hide. His face softened when their eyes met, but neither of them said anything at first.

y/n could see the conflict in his gaze. The same ache she had felt. And in that moment, something inside her broke, the walls she had carefully built around her heart cracking just enough to let him in.

She stepped back, silently inviting him in. She didn’t need to say anything. The door was open, and so was she.

riki took a hesitant step forward, the weight of his own emotions making each movement feel like a thousand pound burden. He crossed the threshold, and for a moment, neither of them spoke.

It was as if the simple act of being in the same space again had already begun to fill the gaps that had been left in their lives.

Without a word, y/n closed the door behind him. They stood there for a beat, the air between them thick with unspoken thoughts but y/n could feel the familiar pull toward him, the one that had never really disappeared.

The moment stretched, thick with tension, as riki’s lips brushed against y/n’s skin. Every kiss, every touch, every move made his body ache for more

Her hands slid up his chest, fingers trembling as she gripped his shirt, tugging it off with desperate urgency. His heart pounded against his ribcage as he followed suit, pulling her shirt over her head, revealing the bare skin he’d missed more than he could admit.

He could feel her pulse racing beneath his fingertips, just like his own. They were moving in sync, a rhythm they had never lost, even after the distance, even after the time apart.

y/n’s eyes locked with his—dark, heated, full of need—and in that instant, riki knew there was no turning back. They were both too far gone to stop.

“Tell me you still want me,” y/n whispered, her voice a breathless plea.

riki didn’t think twice. He crashed his lips against hers, his hands roaming down her body as if he were memorizing the feel of her.

“More than anything,” he muttered between kisses. His voice was thick, heavy with desire. “I never stopped wanting you.”

y/n’s hands slid down his back, pulling him even closer, if that was possible. Her body pressed against his, and riki could feel every curve of her, every inch of her.

He couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t think.

All he could do was feel.

Her lips parted for him, and he took the invitation, deepening the kiss, pushing her against the bed. He could hear the sound of her breath hitching, feel the way she arched against him, desperate for more.

“Riki…” Her voice trembled, fingers now working at the waistband of his pants.

He groaned, pulling away just long enough to look at her. The hunger in her eyes mirrored his own, and for a split second, he almost lost himself in it.

“y/n…” His voice was strained, barely a whisper. “Are you sure?”

Her answer came in the form of a fierce kiss, one that stole his breath and made his mind spin. She didn’t pull away. Didn’t hesitate. She wanted him.

And that was all the confirmation he needed.

He kissed her again, his hands trailing down her sides, urging her to move with him. Every inch of her body was like fire, like something he could never extinguish, something he would never be able to walk away from again.

They didn’t slow down. Didn’t stop. It was like they were racing against time, against their own resolve, against whatever might come next.

The world outside didn’t exist.

There was only y/n.

And there was only riki.

And they were completely, utterly lost in each other.

࿐ ࿔:・゚Pairing: idolbf!riki x f!reader

࿐ ࿔:・゚Genre: angst

──── ୨୧ ────

It’s late. The lights from the concert stage have long faded, leaving only the quiet hum of the city beneath the hotel room. Y/n sits by the window, watching the lights flicker below. The glass feels cold against her fingertips, a contrast to the warmth that used to exist between her and riki. But that warmth has been fading—slowly at first, then all at once, like the last ember of a fire dying out.

The door clicks open behind her. She doesn’t turn around. She doesn’t have to. She knows it’s him.

Riki steps inside, still in his stage clothes, his hair a little messy from the performance, but there’s no exhaustion in his posture—only distance. His presence doesn’t fill the room the way it used to. If anything, it makes it feel smaller, suffocating.

y/n swallows the lump in her throat and stands, her heart already racing. “Riki,” she says softly, trying to keep her voice steady. “Are you okay?”

He doesn’t answer right away. He just exhales sharply, dragging a hand through his hair before tossing his bag onto the bed with more force than necessary. The silence stretches between them, thick and unbearable.

And then, without even looking at her, he says, “We need to talk.”

The words hit like a slap. Y/n’s stomach twists painfully, but she forces herself to nod. “Okay,” she whispers. “Then talk.”

Riki finally meets her gaze, and for the first time in weeks, she realizes how far away he already is. There’s something cold in his expression—indifference, maybe, or something even worse.

“I can’t do this anymore,” he says bluntly. “Us.”

y/n flinches. It’s not what he’s saying, it’s how he’s saying it. Detached. Like she’s a problem he’s finally found the courage to get rid of.

“What?” Her voice cracks, but she doesn’t care. “You can’t just—riki, where is this coming from?”

His jaw clenches. He looks away, shaking his head. “Don’t act like you didn’t see this coming. You had to have felt it, too.”

She takes a step forward, desperate, grasping at something—anything. “Felt what? That you’ve been ignoring me? That you’ve been pushing me away?” She exhales shakily. “I thought we were just going through a rough patch. I thought you just needed time.”

Riki scoffs, and the sound cuts through her like a knife. “Time?” He lets out a bitter laugh, finally meeting her eyes again. “Y/n, I’ve been trying. I really have. But I just… I don’t feel the same way anymore.”

The room spins.

No. No, he’s lying. He has to be.

Her hands tremble as she shakes her head. “You don’t mean that.”

“Yeah,” he breathes. “I do.”

The finality in his tone makes her knees go weak.

She lets out a shuddering breath, forcing herself to stand her ground. “So that’s it? You’re just done? Just like that?”

Riki shrugs, like it doesn’t even matter. Like she doesn’t even matter. “It’s not working anymore.”

Y/n stares at him, trying to find something—anything—that resembles the boy she fell in love with. But she can’t. He’s already gone.

“You’re a coward,” she whispers, her voice thick with tears. “You don’t get to stand here and act like I’m the problem. You’re the one who gave up.”

riki’s expression hardens, his gaze sharp. “Maybe I did,” he says coldly. “And maybe you should, too.”

The words steal the air from her lungs.

She bites her lip to stop the sob from escaping, blinking rapidly to clear her vision. But it’s useless. She’s breaking, and he’s just standing there, watching it happen.

Y/n inhales shakily, straightening her posture even though her heart is in pieces. “I hope you realize what you’re throwing away,” she murmurs. “I hope you regret this.”

Riki doesn’t flinch. He doesn’t even blink. “I won’t.”

And that’s what finally makes her stop fighting.

She nods slowly, taking a step back. “Okay,” she whispers. “Then I won’t, either.”

She turns before he can see her cry. Before she can change her mind.

She doesn’t slam the door when she leaves. She doesn’t say goodbye.

She just walks away.

And this time, he doesn’t stop her.

It was one of those nights—no schedules, no calls, no cameras. Just them.

y/n was curled up in the corner of the couch, scrolling through her phone, still in riki’s hoodie, the sleeves swallowing her hands. The fabric was warm from his body heat, and the scent of his cologne lingered in the threads, making her feel safe. Riki, on the other hand, was stretched out beside her, long legs sprawled over the cushions, one arm draped lazily over the back of the couch.

They had been quiet for a while, just existing in each other’s space, but riki wasn’t the type to sit still for long.

“You’re too far,” he mumbled, his voice low and slightly raspy from exhaustion.

y/n barely glanced up. “I’m literally right next to you.”

riki, unimpressed with her response, reached out, fingers brushing over the hem of the hoodie she wore. In one swift motion, he tugged her closer, effortlessly pulling her into his lap.

“Riki!” she yelped, but he only smirked, tightening his arms around her waist so she couldn’t escape.

“This is better,” he murmured, resting his chin on her shoulder. His voice was softer now, as if the world outside their apartment didn’t exist—just the warmth of her pressed against him.

Y/n sighed, but she didn’t fight him. Instead, she let herself relax against his chest, her fingers absentmindedly tracing patterns over his arm.

riki hummed, his lips brushing against the curve of her neck,y/n shivered at the feeling, warmth creeping up her spine.

riki, pulling back slightly so he could look at her. His eyes were laced with something unspoken, something soft. His fingers found her cheek, tracing along her jaw before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

For a moment, neither of them spoke. Y/n just stared at him, taking in the way his gaze flickered over her face—her eyes, her nose, the curve of her lips.

“What?” she asked, voice quieter now.

riki tilted his head, a lazy smirk playing at the corner of his mouth. “Nothing. Just thinking about how pretty you are.”

y/n rolled her eyes, but the way her fingers curled into his hoodie betrayed her. “You always say that.”

“And I’ll keep saying it.”

He leaned in then, pressing his lips against her temple, then her cheek, then just below her ear, where she was most sensitive. She felt his smirk against her skin when she squirmed.

“Riki,” she warned.

“What?” he murmured, his breath warm against her neck. “I’m just appreciating my girlfriend. Is that a crime?”

Y/n bit back a smile, threading her fingers through his hair as she pulled back just enough to look him in the eyes. “If it was, you’d be in jail by now.”

riki chuckled, but his grip on her waist tightened, his fingers slipping beneath the hoodie to rest against her skin. She felt the warmth of his hands, his touch grounding, familiar.

“Stay like this for a while,” he said, more serious now.

y/n softened. “Okay.”

And so they stayed. Wrapped up in each other, warmth shared in the quiet of the night. It was the kind of love that didn’t need grand gestures or spoken confessions—it was just them. Just love.

──── ୨୧ ────

Y/n and riki had spent the day running around with busy schedules, but tonight, they decided to unwind and bake together. It was a small moment of peace, and they had both been looking forward to it all day. The kitchen smelled of vanilla and butter as y/n carefully measured out the ingredients, while riki hovered near her, arms crossed.

“You sure you don’t need my help?” riki teased, his voice light but filled with mischief. He leaned against the counter, eyes tracing the movements of her hands as she mixed the flour.

“I’m good,” y/n replied, glancing up at him with a playful smile. “But you can keep me company while I work.”

riki grinned, taking a step closer. “I like the sound of that.”

As she cracked an egg into the bowl, a little bit of shell fell into the mix. y/n frowned, reaching for the spoon to remove it. But before she could, riki was there, his hand brushing against hers as he plucked the tiny shell out with ease.

“You’re too focused,” he whispered, his voice low as he stepped closer, his lips brushing against her ear. “You need a break.”

y/n turned her head slightly, her gaze catching his. “A break from baking or from you?”

He chuckled, his breath warm against her neck. “Both.”

Without warning, he gently placed his hand on her lower back, pulling her just a bit closer. y/n felt the heat of his body press against hers, and for a second, she froze, feeling the tension in the air shift. He was standing so close, and she could feel the subtle brush of his fingers against her skin.

“You’re distracting me,” y/n murmured, trying to keep her composure, but her voice gave away the hint of fluster.

riki’s smirk grew, his hands slowly trailing up her sides, sending electric tingles through her. “I thought that was the idea,” he whispered, his lips grazing her ear. “You’re so focused… it’s cute.”

y/n tried to focus on the bowl in front of her, but her mind was slipping, her body reacting to the closeness of his touch. Her hands fumbled slightly as she tried to continue mixing the ingredients, but riki wasn’t having it. He gently took the bowl from her hands, setting it aside. “You’re too distracted now. Just take a break, y/n,” he said, his tone soft but full of intent.

y/n was about to protest but found herself leaning into him instead, his presence a comforting weight against her. She could feel his fingers brushing the back of her neck, a small touch that sent shivers down her spine.

“You’re a handful,” she whispered, her voice low, a slight laugh escaping her lips as she let herself relax against him.

riki smiled, his hands moving to cup her face gently, tilting her head up to meet his gaze. “I can’t help it,” he murmured, brushing his lips over her forehead before softly kissing her lips.

The kiss was slow at first, tender but teasing, his lips barely touching hers before pulling away just as she leaned in. y/n’s heart raced as she felt the heat from his kiss, his hands sliding down her arms until they rested on her waist, pulling her even closer. She could feel his breath on her lips, the warmth from his body, and for a brief moment, she was lost in him.

When they finally pulled away, y/n was breathless, a light flush across her cheeks. “Alright, let’s get back to baking,” she said, trying to sound casual, but her voice was shaky, betraying her.

riki smirked, brushing a thumb over her bottom lip as he stepped back, but he wasn’t ready to let go just yet. “Later,” he murmured, his lips grazing hers again, this time a little more urgent, a little more heated. y/n melted into the kiss, her fingers moving to his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart. She could taste him, the sweetness lingering on her lips, and the desire to be closer to him almost overwhelmed her.

As they pulled away, both of them breathless, y/n laughed softly, her voice tinged with excitement. “Okay, we seriously should bake something...”

riki’s eyes glinted with something unreadable, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips. “Sure. But I’m still not leaving you alone for the rest of the night.”

y/n rolled her eyes, her hands sliding up to rest on his chest. “I guess I’m okay with that.” She pulled him back in for one last kiss, this one slow and lingering, before they finally turned back to the bowl of flour, both of them trying to regain some semblance of normalcy. But the tension between them lingered, thick and palpable, and both of them couldn’t help but smile at the thought of the rest of the night.

You wondered if the universe hated you and had decided to fuck you over, or if you were just plain stupid.

Definitely the latter, you concluded as you watched the most horrifying scene you had ever witnessed unfold before your eyes.

You probably deserved everything coming your way for trusting Nishimura Riki earlier that day, but as a wise person had once said, even a girlboss has her weak moments.

And on the 25th of December, you were at your weakest.

Not only had your parents ditched you on Christmas to go on what they said was an urgent business trip, but had also left without so much as a goodbye.

You’d woken up to a house as silent as the grave. For a moment, you thought you’d been sucked into the Home Alone universe, what with the way you were shouting their names like a child lost in a crowd and wondering why the fuck they weren’t answering you.

You’d called and called and called their phones, but each time, you’d received the same monotonous response: the number you are calling is not reachable.

The first two hours, you were in a state of absolute panic. You had no idea where your parents were and why they weren’t picking up their phones. There were no post-it notes stuck to the refrigerator, and their bed was already made.

Where the hell were they?

💜 DAY 6 OF MONSTER WEEK — MERMAID NIKI

[900+ words]

[Gender-neutral]

Description: You're a pirate and while you're plundering some loot, you come across a mermaid.

[Read the rest under the cut]

Since you can remember, all you've known is the sea. You were born on a pirate ship during the worst storm your parents have ever sailed through. Cradled roughly in its waves, you never cried even when the saltwater mist burned everyone's eyes.

Your mothers said that your third mother was the sea, just as she was the mother to every pirate who sought refuge in her tides. When your mothers retired from their captain and first-mate position, they left the ship and crew to you and your first mate, Wilbur.

You are the youngest pirate, and especially the youngest captain, to ever grace the sea, and you bear that title with pride. You spend as little time on land as possible, finding it as unsettling as sea-sick people find the sea.

That's why it's almost ironic that the first time you met a mermaid face-to-face was on land. Somehow, two sea creatures (you proudly claim that title, thank you very much) managed to meet on land before in the sea, funny innit?

You had to stay on land longer than you'd've liked to get some ship repairs, which luckily your first mate was handaling for you, so you had lots of free time. Deciding for no real reason to explore, you had managed to wonder into a rather seedy looking nerighbourhood.

While walking you passed a certain house with expensive drapery framing the windows and you can instantly tell that whoever lives there is richer than they seem. And that in itself is a sign for some illegal happenins and it just so happens that your favourite people to steal from are fellow criminals.

You managed to pick the lock to the front door and within minutes you've managed to pick a good number of prime sellers to pocket. Someone opens up the door when you're heading down their basement so you take the opportunity to book it further down and that's when you come face to face with a mermaid.

"Do you need help?" Those were the first words you'd said to her after finding her locked in a fish tank in some poacher's home. The question was admittedly stupid, but you had just been caught mid-robbery and you're known to be "fish-brained" as Wilbur calls it.

She can't answer, or maybe you just can't hear her, but you pry the tank open anyways because you wouldn't be able to live with yourself it you left a fellow child of the sea to die. When the lid pops off, she uses impressive upper arm strength to pull herself up and knock the tank on its side. She looks at it and smacks her tail into it, shattering the class instnatly and leaving her with a curled lip, proudly smirking like she had won some battle.

You have only about three seconds to admire her very pretty coral-pink scales ad even more impressive arm muscles before the owner of the house you're robbing bursts through the door.

You're still holding the fish tank lid and waste no time in smacking him in the face with it, spreading the shattered glass across the floor.

The mermaids obvious strength is brought back to attention as she handstands her way towards the man. They groan, trying to gather their strength and sit up. Immediately her tails slams down on his back with a crack and she starts smacking the shit out of him with her tail until some of his teeth fall loose and you're sure he won't be able to walk the same again.

The mermaid looks over at you and thankfully recognizes an ally when she seas one. You prop the door open and offer a hand, unsure whether she'd like help going up the stairs or if she's capable of that too.

She accepts your help after a moment, though she doesn't seem the least bit threatened by you which us slightly insulting. You're out the house and standing by the ocean is a process that feels way too long. Although by your standards, any time away from the ocean is too long.

The mermaids slips into the sea and you waver her away with a smile.

Niki, the mermaid, ends up following your ship. She declined to talk to most of your crew but Wilbur did have some more luck, managing to learn her name even before you.

It's weird how quickly all of you had gotten used to her presence. Shexfelt a bit like a good luck charm too, since storms settled easier when she was around.

Today she swims circles around your boat, where you're stuck aimlessly floating as there's no air to guide the ship. Only very, very extreme heat.

"It's sweltering today," Niki says, fins creating a little wake in the water as they swished back and forth along the side of the ship. "The sun must really beat down up there. Especially when you're at the helm steering all day."

You prop one boot heavily atop the bulkhead, leaning one elbow on your knee to peer over the edge and into her sea foam eye's. "You know if you want me to go swimming with you and Wil, you really need to confirm whether or not you plan to drown me. Again."

"I never drowned you," Niki protests, elbowing Wilbur to agree with her. "But I would like you to swim with us, yes."

"Yeah, Cap," Wilbur nods, smiling mischievously. "Unless you're too chicken."

You narrow your eyes at Wilbur, "I know what you're doing and it won't work on me."

"I can't believe our darling Captain was such a scaredy cat," Wilbur taunts while staring you directly in the eyes, "Afraid of a little water."

"Alright that's it," You rip your shirt off, barely remembering to take your shoes off, before diving into the ocean. Wilbur cheers the entire time you fall and catches a mouthful of salt water.

"C'mon you little shit, I'll drown you and we'll see how you like it," You're smiling the entire time though. It's so much more natural being in the sea than even being on a boat. And it does help that you're with two of your favourite people.

{《☆》}

[I hate life it is so late I ruined my sleep schedule and my computer died halfway through writing this but damnit I finished anyways. Anyways I'm going to sleep before I critically murder myself further, thanks for reading.]
