The ultimate doomed father-daughter relationships, the mirror images, and grief channeled as rage and physical violence that will be their ultimate undoing.
They fed that girl her own dad fr huh. And we just have to live with that. I hope that girl can find peace.
But seriously, they let Ellie have her moment of rage with David. They let her live it fully. No Joel until she escapes from the building. And don't get me wrong, I love a good "parent coming to save child" moment as much as the next person, but they really gave her her autonomy, and she was able to really feel it. I can only hope that that other girl could also maybe in this universe get far away from there and live her rage and then maybe find peace.
