Over 6 years, nothing's changed.
The hawkeye trailer just dropped and...
Y'ALL WILL THERE BE AN AVENGERS' MUSICAL IN THERE !!?!?!?!?!?
January 2023 started interestingly
Ok, so maybe on Henley Monday I promised a Tuxedo Tuesday. And maybe yesterday there was a blizzard and I also go distracted and forgot to make the post. Maybe that's all true. But HERE. NOW. I bring you a plethora of photos from Hollywood's Biggest Night.
I bring you...Men In Tuxedos at the Oscars!
First, let's walk down the red carpet....
If you look closely, you can see Mr. Tveit's striped socks. I love a man who has a bit of whimsy when it comes to his dress socks.
Next up is Aaron "Enjolras" Tveit's Les Mis buddy Eddie Redmayne rocking the hell out of his velvet slippers.
Chris Pine went for the double breasted jacket. I die. I just die. He's not alone in his refusal to shave either. Many, many actors declined to rid themselves of facial hair for the black tie event.
This picture of Joseph Gordon Levitt shows the detail on his tux. The fabric has a bit of texture to it, as well as the piping details. I can't tell if the piping is silk or leather. I really want it to be leather.
Bradley Cooper brought his mom! He brought his adorable and precocious mom! She has on a pink ostrich feather stole AND tennis shoes! Brad's three-piece Tom Ford also rule and even though his hair is yucky he looks fine.
My personal fave Chris Evans brought his proud momma along too! She looks radiant. Chris, I love a good bow tie, but I get that's not quite your style.
Then the show started and more men tromped out on stage including this fine selection of male specimen from the Avengers. Samuel L. Jackson gets major points for going with that garnet velvet. Love it.
A whole bunch of awards were given out and the biggest one of the night went to Ben Affleck for Argo! He dressed the part of a best picture winner with a one button, silk lapel jacket, vest, and silk bow-tie! DAMN, AFFLECK, YOUR FACE IS AGING AS WELL AS YOUR CAREER!
Basically I was looking at my TV like this all night long:
Hey ladies, hey gentleman, it's Ryan Gosling our Patron Saint of Henleys all lit up to bring you happy holiday tidings and wishes for a happy new year ahead of you. Because it's the end of the year, and you've worked so hard to come so far, he thought he'd extend to you a gift. A special mega edition of Henley Monday featuring not just one picture, but SEVEN pictures of SEVEN DIFFERENT MEN in henleys.
HAPPY NEW YEAR LOVE THE MEN OF THE AVENGERS ALL WEARING HENLEYS!!!
Jeremy Renner shooting Cupid's arrow straight through your heart for much love in your year.
The Honorable RDJ smiles down wishes for a prosperous 2013 full of fortune, fame, and delicious shwarma.
Chris Evans stews over the ways he wants to bring peace and goodwill to all here in America and all over the globe.
Giant Chris Hemsworth is tenderly cradling his teensy-tinesy baby girl just as he tenderly cradles your hopes and dreams.
Mark Ruffalo wants you to stand up for something, whether it be for yourself or for the rights of others. Don't get angry, get active!
And finally, Tom Hiddleston, with the help of our dear friend Benedict Cumberbatch, want to remind you to be safe, be great, and be productive in the coming year.
Love to all you out there, and Happy New Year!!!

My Spoiler Free Review
No one is probably going to see this but I thought it would be interesting if I reviewed this one.
First, this film was so hyped, the press, trailers and secrecy added on to our anticipation. I’m putting right out there, I believe it did live up to the hype. They added these scenes and lines that were definitely added as fan pleasers – the reactions I got in my theatre were great – lots of oohs and aahs. I loved it.
In saying that – the Film wasn’t perfect, there were these major plot holes that were quite obvious – there is no way marvel did not see these because they are extremely prominent. They could have added a few minutes and found a way to explain these plot holes – It might be Lazy writing and directing or something else but I don’t know how they could have missed them. I wouldn’t say that the plot holes effected how much like the film or not, however plot holes are the most irritating things and for something that has been leading up to this for 10 years through 21 films – I just don’t think plot holes this major should be accepted.
There were scenes that were a bit predictable – I’m not saying the film is predictable - No Way! But I did happen to be guessing scenes as they were playing out. Then again – I am not saying I didn’t enjoy the outcome, for a marvel fan – it’s weird, I enjoyed the predictability, not because I wanted it to be predicable but because these scenes were made to please the fans (as I stated earlier). They really made this film to please those long-term or hardcore fans.
Watching the film, you can tell right of the bat that there is a more serious tone throughout – I think there are so many factors coming in to play in this film that it had to be – which I actually really enjoyed for a change. I actually tend to really like the humour that marvel add in their films and the amount in them all – I think they have definitely understood how to balance out the humour and seriousness. Although, there was one scene where they brought the humour to early in and quick, it went from fully serious to humour in a split second – they should have eased in to more.
I loved what they did with the characters –they explored each and every character’s issues and experiences really well and clearly, they had some room to, with it being a 3-hr movie. There was one character that I actually hated what they did and among other things they shouldn’t have done to the characters. But other than that, I really enjoyed how they interpreted the characters in this Avengers.
There is definitely less action in this one – it’s a lot slower than Infinity war. I feel like anyone who is watching this for the sole purpose of seeing a bunch of superheros fighting, being heroic and shit like that; won’t enjoy the film as much. People would enjoy the film a lot of if they watched every Cap and Iron man film as well as all the 3 Avengers films before they went in.
Overall, the film was great! The plot holes were irritating – I went and watched it a second time and they really started to piss me off because of how obvious it was. Fight scenes were legendary, legit both times I watched it, I got shivers because of how well they were established. They did well with most characters and some I actually loved (no spoilers of course) I enjoyed a lot of characters and their relationships in this film a lot more this time round. However, unfortunately marvel couldn’t maintain that through every character which meant some character decisions were shit.
Because I’m a fan and I’ve watched every marvel film and re-watched the six thousand times – I loved the movie because I understood every reference and I reckon every marvel fan will enjoy this film in some way, but to the ‘normal eye’ – for someone who has never watched a marvel film and has decided to watch this one because of the hype; will probably not enjoy – straight out, they might hate it. Like I said – you need to watch every Cap film – every Iron man and every Avengers before this one, to truly enjoy the film for what it is.
We done. Bye.
James Bond X William Brandt
